In Praise of Polygamy

In Praise of Polygamy

By Elton Camp

It’s not in the basic nature of a male
To limit himself to only one female

If, to be friendly, she doesn’t care
It’s a good idea if he has a spare

An idea that men like even more
Is if he has on hand three or four

One wife can be doing the cooking
While another is getting good looking

An outside job each wife can hold
Hand over her salary as she’s told

Multiple wives will do everything
To ensure hubby lives like a king

Built-in competition is really good
To make a wife do as she should

Polygamy can be a positive delight
So wrong for law to say it isn’t right

Since gay marriage states now approve
To legalize polygamy it would behoove

The Pro's of Mary Jane

Great things could be accomplished,
If the Government would relent;
And Legalize Marijuana for good,
Think of the taxes that could then be spent;

The Revenue from the taxation of it,
Could pull us out of this hole;
Put a tax on it like tobacco,
And take over all control;

Cannabis is an amazing plant,
And can be used for many things;
From cleaner burning fuel to paper,
Imagine the money that this one plant could bring;

It’s a renewable crop, unlike trees,
And can be harvested many times;
I know that it has a bad rep.
Because of it’s link to crimes;

But this wondrous plant could be,
The answer to our economic woes;
It all starts with the Legalization of it,
And from there, nobody knows.

Reggae artist Peter Tosh said it best with his hit song "Legalize It". The legendary
 Bob Marley also glorified it in his music. Of course they were referring to marijuana.
 In the 1970's marijuana was just as popular as it is today. However most were using
 it to get high, some were using it for medicinal purposes. We've come a long way since then, with many states now legalizing it. There is ongoing research to tap into its
 medicinal uses. It has been used for many years to treat glaucoma, and given to
 cancer patients to alleviate  nausea.

 I think this herb will prove to have great impact in the field of medicine. Though
 Peter and Bob are no longer with us, we can certainly appreciate their vision.
   many will continue to use it to get high, many more will benefit from its medicinal
   attributes. To all those who will benefit now, and in the future, I'll just light up my spliff and say; "This buds for you".

I Am a Thing

My name, to some, is mary jane
I think it a shame
to even play this game
with me, as I have so many names-

I must proclaim
it is my aim
to assist in it's fame
To gain much acclaim.

There should be no law
As there is no flaw
Of this natural painkiller
I stand in awe -
Born straight from earth
without withdraw
one can smoke and enjoy -
Even Ma and Pa.

Oxycontin, vicodin, morphine
All these will make you a dope fiend
But not the good ol' green
Won't even make you mean
No passing of addictive genes

To put into light
and help this fight
Focus on this sight-
First used as medicine by the Chinese in
2737 B.C.

Ever heard of alcoholic DT's?
Bud doesn't have these.
Overdose on methamphetamines?
Can't OD on BC Green.

How can the Gov' legalize all the above,
When evidence and stats show
I don't contain all the woe
that all this other synthetic crap does?

What am I?

Public Convenience

A war ‘nowhere near me’ is a concept that does not exist
                      an oxymoron so to speak and weep and cry or believe
propaganda for the convenience of denying responsibility

        Wars allegedly ‘afar’ is a notion too far removed from the
distortion that you and I do not benefit from the slaughter
                    as the wealth of some is built on the shoulders of many
who suffer for global greed oil exploitation geopolitical
     domination for booming stock markets and neoliberal evil

Call me touchy feely or a pacifist to discredit my knowledge
                but my paradigm is one of hard core sober fact that in my
name and without my direct consent rape pillage and plunder
        deface the human condition and legalize collateral damage

What a euphemism to ask me to close my eyes in view of
                 pulverised people atomised ashes and call them not near

Rapacious avarice or conscientious objection to misleading
                 terms and diminutive are a choice very close to my heart

The Wayward Call

Deep down she feels like a dirty trampled piece of paper
Tossed from one merciless dervil to the hand of another
Parading herself scantily clad the cold numbing reality

Sometimes she begs to be bought a drink from her clients
Inebriated she is able to overlook her soul which accuses
Sometimes she does pray – Lord do have mercy her ways

The city authorities regard her as a vermin of the society
Constant harassment is her way of life for they are sworn
Never to legalize her trade never accept hew way of life

Sweetheart darling dear and all terms of love and endearment
Are hers to use to lure the willing and partly willing to her bed
The price negotiated and payment upfront lest she is fleeced

Why Do They Hate You So Much

Why do they hate you so much?

Parents, teachers, colleagues even the priest’s hates you
You not a murderer yet police are looking for you 24 hours a day
You never abused or hurt anyone yet always a victim of circumstances
You make me laugh, think ohhh just can’t stop thinking about you
Every time I see you… my anger, pain, hatred just fades away
IT’S A PITY THEY DON’T WANNA SEE US TOGETHER!!!

Why do they hate you so much?
Your presents give life to the ill people
Your presents give laugher to the hopeless
Your presents bring two enemies together
Because of your presents today the nation sings the same song…
Ohhhh…my darling I miss your touch already
IT’S A PITY THEY DON’T WANNA SEE US TOGETHER!!!

Why do they hate you so much?
When you so innocent and harmless, so caring and loving
Should I blame the government for encouraging hate upon you?
Or lack of education and stupid theories fed to citizens about you
Well my sweet darling you can count on me, ill never turn against you
AFRICA LETS UNITE AND SING THE SAME SONG…

Getting High!!!!!

I'm sitting at this table feeling rather high,
It don't matter if there is a reason why.
They say that pot can kill you, it's hazardous to our health,
If they would legalize it they would be sitting on wealth.
I think they need to roll a blunt and take it to da head,
Better yet give it to me and i will smoke it instead.

"If a man lays with another man he should be stoned."
We've been interpreting the above biblical verse all wrong.
It's stating a prophecy of how things should truly be,
and if my truth should be told;
Legalize gay marriage and marijuana is what's being foretold.

…and that’s the truth

Hey diddle, diddle
the cat and the fiddle
the cow jumped over the moon
the little dog laughed to see such fun
and the dish ran away with the spoon

“JIMMY!!!!” How many times have I told you….
don’t leave the fiddle where the cat can get at it?”

“MAN, DUDE, if they ever legalize this sh..
everyone will find out about that cow.”

“DAMN!! Fiddles and fumes, fiddles and fumes.”
“You’d laugh too if you saw that culinary couple
running from the “munchies”.

Hey diddle, diddle
the cats now in Nashville
the cow’s on a flight to Mars
The dog’s in a rehab in Denver
the dish and the spoon – tending bar.

Drugs

It started once in chocolate,
It ended up in coke,
It found its way in music pangs,
Like vipers deadly fangs…
This poison spread like fire,
Throughout each state and home,
Now that it’s an epidemic,
To legalize they’re prone.
It started in candy,
Then ended-up in schools;
It spread when they thought the Bible...
"Was not-a-good Golden-rule...!”
It started in the homes,
When kids had nowhere to play;
It took its toll and boomeranged-,
Back on our heads to stay…!
Now it’s in our churches,
For each old aged-gran;
‘Cause Steroids aren’t just for boxers,
It’s for everyone across the land.
It seems the government has the market,
For every cause and lure;
Oh yea, drugs are really big business,
Or they would have found a cure!

Dysfunction Junction

Politicians are just like flies
Great big mouths and bulging eyes

They talk and talk and say very little
And always refuse to meet in the middle

They walk the halls, back and forth
And get themselves all out of sorts

Over some imagined slight
Maybe some reporter will catch the fight

Then they get want they seem to want
On tv! Themselves to flaunt

And the day will come when a law they will make
And praise themselves, then take a break

Laws for the rich to keep down the poor
You don't have to be a woman to be a whore.

Just pay a lobbyist to buy a vote
Or if you're rich enough, just write a note.

The goal seems to be to make themselves a name
They seem to forget the job is not a game

Global warming and immigration
Healthcare reform and nullification

Legalize pot?-Not in Texas
Just build more prison complexes

Over population? Don't mention it!
The religious coffers wouldn't like it a bit

Tax dollars there, tax dollars here
Whose pet project gets done this year?

Forget the homeless, forget the ill
Just spend the money on Capitol Hill

Who needs water, who needs heat
It doesn't matter, there's someone to beat!

All that counts is the party and the pride
And the country is just along for the ride.

If we get smart, our vote they'll not receive
If they continue this practice to deceive.

Maybe When Pigs Can Wear Wigs

YEAH, MAYBE WHEN PIGS CAN WEAR WIGS

You go and try speaking to them
I’ll do my talking with my f-----g fist
Make them want to open their inner jugular veins due to the day they became a
lobbyist
Hey, Grandma Jones can’t afford her meds because you dug into the deepest pocket
And as for the subject of bribery I’m here to mock it
Don’t you see that little child laying semi-comatose?
Well all you damnable demons deserve a dose
A dose of your own medicine you legalize knowing a few may fall
Can someone lead me to a hallowed hall
With big wigs who wear small wigs
All getting with one hand and getting with the other, those amoral pigs
Oh, and that young boy took another dirty trick of yours and now he has only the
ability to crawl
And as for lobbyists, I say f__k them all!
