Best Kin Poems

Kin of the Pen

I enjoy knowing you
Though I know little about you
It still remains
I know the scrawl of your pen
Dancing over a page
The sound of your native beat
And the friendship that when kindled flames meet
Inspired by you a thousand ways
I wont waste another day
So friends, and kin of the pen
We shall remain

Kith and Kin

Kith and Kin.

For them, people's time is not a waste,
For them,people's lives are important,
Peace lovers,they have awakened conscience,
Constructive activities they do together ,
Full of compassion,they are free,unarmed,
They dance to the tune of peace,
They are free men, with sound lungs,
They draw a long breath of peace,
promoting brotherhood,
With a brave heart,active mind
and free spirit,they embrace brotherhood,
Not less worth do they give to peace,
Selflessly they encourage kindness.

P.S- Back in the 18 century, the swords of Polish Legion supporting Lombardy were inscribed with an Italian phrase translated as "Free people are brothers".

Kin and Kith

We choose our kith but not our kin
And for the world we’re living in,
Such choices, sometimes helped by luck,
Are great, for with our kin we’re stuck.

Of course, we sometimes do desert
Relationships that cause us hurt
So kin may end up in a break-up
But, with friends, we kith and make up.

Kin

Most are related to shipwrecked ghosts,
accomplices of my blood
that can still be found
in geographically scattered albums.

When there were cities to occupy,
they lived one level below expectations.
Like defective fireworks, some went off early.
A more dedicated few grew old and medicated.
They built defunct railroads and dug ditches
they later fell into.
They were navigators of small shady schemes.
Their brief settlements and abrupt departures
left fuzzy lines on blacktops and concrete.

As a family, we are estranged and unknown,
but we do speak to our dead
if they come to call, of course
only after a respectable period
of life-long disinterest.

Zephaniah 3:17 KJV The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.

Grace more abundant
Than words could reveal
Feelings so pure, honest
They color hearts kind
Bring joy and love to mind

Goodness more thoughtful
Than blessings of delight
Glowing so brilliantly
Alive with knowing, insight
Whispers of light shimmering

Psalms praising and playing
On the sun’s soft light
Filling spirits with devotion
Intimacy and inspiration
Amusing the imagination

Prayers of peace and promise
Linger on the palette
Rich with love and kindness
Arousing peace, dancing
With bursts of creativity

God sings , shouts, sends
Blessings we wouldn’t expect
Brilliant, beautiful blessings
Breathed out of God’s own heart
Vibrant, vital and luminous

Faith awakens the assurance
That we have all we need
Miracles we’d never fathom
Wonders so jubilant, dreams
Flowing with milk and honey

Love lingers on those souls
Who know God will complete
Each and every thought – He marvels
In the creation He esteems
His children, His design, His dream

We’re blessed to be kin to the King of Kings!

Old Edgar a Poe My Kin

Since I'm kin to Edgar Allen Poe
I like for Halloween to cause much woe.
Out in the streets they're dressed up.
And with all their crimes they corrupt.
The more the merrier, I say let them go!

I swing my pendulum everyday.
Those who are wise better get out of my way.
     Consider the dead
     Even some in their bed.
Needs to get out on this day and play!

In the graveyard the zombies are restless.
In the cave tops the bats wings getting stressless.
     They're ready to play
     On this Halloween day.
When they finish tonight they'll be guestless!!!!!

Nepotism's Only Kin Deep

Chip off the old block;
        It runs in the family.
This all needs to stop
        In our meritocracy.

Titles through ages;
        A generation’s game.
Lordships by bloodline,
        Some things need to change.

Birth won’t denote skill;
        It keeps people out.
Mobility’s lost
        When money they flout.

James Caan can shove it,
        And let workers in.
Nobles move over,
        Let our time begin.

Kith and Kin

Have a heart and heartless be not.
life is fleeting forlorn in hopes unfulfilled.
Seek truly caring kith and kin,
who love you still though flawed.
Loneliness by lasting love annihilated.
Passing passion ends in pain delayed,
though sought for sudden pleasures
and immediate delights.

Who cares for kin unknown and far removed?
The poor despised despite possessing huge hearts.

Premium Member Nessie, Wattie and Kin

Nessie, Wattie and Kin

A full ten years before Nessie was first sighted
Colonel Arthur Trimble visited Loch Watten
A dark, looming shape Trimble’s interest ignited
It’s now speculated Nessie has some twins

Oceanographers say that before the Ice Age
Loch Ness was connected to the Atlantic sea
So let us turn the history book back a page
A similar creature’s been seen in Lake Erie

American cousins for Nessie and Wattie
Giant sea serpent’s been spotted in Lake Champlain
He is known as Champ and Lake Erie’s is Bessie
Four ocean cast outs roam an inland sea domain

Could it be that the plesiosaurus lives on
In Scotland as well as in North America
Trapped in these lakes when the Ice Age seas had withdrawn
At same latitudes, but not killers like Orka

So if I make my way to see bonnie Scotland
I’ll be chartering a boat, bringing diving gear
In hopes of catching a glimpse of Nessie firsthand
As I explore Loch Ness’s undersea frontier

Lyn-Lyn-Kin-Kin

the draw to you is untenable,
unformed yet perpetual,
tentatively checked, indirect,
corrected...
irreversibly defined.

and this distance is appreciable,
pining, yet unspeakable,
wandering dazed and crazed,
directed...
unrequited but aligned

Premium Member A Real Country 'Bum-Kin' - For Lin Lane

This scarecrow is no country bumpkin
His bottom and head are ripe pumpkin
Touch him if you dare
He’ll give you a scare
By pricking your hand with a bodkin

Inspired by the picture Lin sent to me

My Okra.S Kin

Hi biscuit, you’re mighty and cute
So acute in hearing that I’m spearing fruit
Perhaps you didn’t know, I’ve lived in the South…too.
Entertained a name in the halls of high school
I thought it was cool, even back then
We were Rebels

Trivial this trivia of mine
Confuses many versed in sublime
My Confucius IS confusing
As are my rhymes butt
So what if they are
They’re just in my mind
Xposing me in a Leonine wind
(out of the skillet and into the…?)
bhindi, also know as a gem

... we banter in Bantu, know?... KinGumbo?

Layers of players in a game of purr suits
and sLayer the Dragon thought I said suite
So he booked a room and waited for treats
meanwhile…
Derelicts were there as centurion scribes
Bricks they made while recording tribes
Bows they carried low and to the side

... On a long coarse
I watched the hoarse-men ride.

Primus asked and the filly said hey…
Ask again in the proper way
Cute doesn’t cut it, the Cupid had to say.
Especially, if the gravy is grey.

”...oh look Vincent, it’s your lobe dear…” ;)

Premium Member A Kind of Kin

Just another night in the dim pub light
When McJock sat up close to McGee
There, at the bar, drinking both from a jar
Laughing and slapping their knees

When came from Jock's throat, a more serious note
A question he posed to McGee
"If I went to your house and made love to your wife
And she had a baby, by me
Since your wife and I mated, would that make Us related,
It boggles my mind Half Again,
Beyond 'magination but by my estimation
Is it possible that we could be Kin"

McGee thought awhile, then turned with a smile
Said "I don't tink so, and it's time I was leavin'
But dere's one ting for sure dat no one can ignore
It most certainly would make us both even"

Club Lions Kin

"Curiouser and curiouser!", Alice proclaimed
" eye two, am adore "

Seven ol' kin
on the strong arms
of Seven strong more
Mercurius wings by to sing
" ... Welcome to the game, Ein ..."

Albert said to tangle
so direct in his angle
pressure from the Sun
became my angel
so diamonds
in the dust
became a trust
I reflected...
Homer said two hymns

and so within 33
I selected
two pair

Athena said to Hera
"... the heart of a Lion is there..."

Asclepius ...
when the Moon is high
bring the twins to align the sky
... so eleven walked in

The cure is a miracle
an oracle
as a mirror,
four the mind...

" ... I am and we are Kind;..."

An Astronut, perhaps, but
a funny one too ;)
