Alright kiddos, we are enthused
  We're headed for the zoo
Hip, hip, hey, hey; we're greatly amused
They did say, to see the usual -- nothing new

'Cos they'd been there on every free day
too many times, my jaded crew
I'd have to think of something risque
Wave Merlin's wand or try some voodoo...

Well, as we arrived, all the cages flung open
No animals in sight; it sure was bizarre
By now my kidsters were actually hopin'
Visiting loud screams upon a star --

--That I'd let them explore
those open cages bidding us in
So, enter they did and what's more
I went in too! But my silly grin

Soon changed to a frown
The caged doors open no more
~ Trapped in a COVID lockdown!

Doofiness As a Spiritual Principle

My loving wife is a woman who’s just not inclined to flatter
Mine pointed out I’m not so serious about things that don’t matter
But I read between the lines of what she thought she meant
Her unintended words of praise, were actually heaven sent!

Plus, a golden opportunity that seemed just right
To ‘splain to the kiddos why I’m not so dang uptight:
“I apologize, I’m well aware, your dad is such an oddity
See, middle-aged energy is such a limited commodity

“If I expend my efforts worrying about everyone’s chit-chatter
Then I will not have said energy when it really matters!
So, do you think I’m such an unrelenting doofus at work?
Well, sometimes, but you can be darned sure I never shirk.

"And here’s the point that I hope all you kiddos apprehend
Someone who doesn’t like your happiness is hardly a good friend.
Just keep your eyes on the prize, who God made you to be
Grow your heart to love yourself; you can be truly free!”

Halloween

Autumn breathes that time of year,
The shouts of "Trick or Treat!!"
Parents dread that painful throb,
On the soles of their aching feet!

Children parade in masquerade,
Dashing from door to door;
Mom and Dad can't break their stride,
While the kiddos scream for more!

Doorbells ring throughout the night,
When will their bags be filled?
Conquering every narrow path,
Sugar is now their thrill!

At last, it's finally over,
Will the parents ever win?
For now, they'll soak their blisters,
Next year it starts again!

No Candy Here

Sorry boys and girls,
Please don't think I'm mean;
Ain't no treats this season,
Not this Halloween!

The porch lights ain't workin',
To kiddos on the streets;
Tricks are on the menu,
And you won't find no treats!

Our kids are all grown up,
I guess we've lost the mood;
We ain't rotten people,
Pardon our attitude!

My sweetie bought some candy,
Perhaps a bag or two;
I'll toss 'em in the cooler,
What else are we to do?!

Sorry boys and girls,
We ain't feelin' this scene;
Maybe in a year or two,
But not this Halloween!

To Be Like a Father

To be like a father
One has to inherit the Fatherhood of GOD
A father that siteth on the management board
At game time he made all arrangements and calls
Supplied our uniforms, water and balls
If you had no Soccer shoes (cleat)
He made sure you had one complete
Half time whistle blown tense moment
Energy boosting we had Nutrament
Indeed, back then we were like pros
We had no star players (Ronaldos)
Nor a special one (Jose Mourinos)
Just our Manager/Father
Whom we called 'Kiddos'

Enough

Enough
Why are we never satisfied with enough?
There is never enough money, but the bills are paid.
You had enough.
And the day the bills aren’t paid, you tried your best.
And that’s enough.
You never have enough time, but with some management you have accomplished
your tasks.
You had enough time for the dishes,
Enough time for the laundry.
Enough time for the kiddos'
And when it seemed like there was not enough time for them,
you found more.
Because there is never enough time for them.
I would argue that enough is merely a state of mind
with different levels for different people.
But with some insight,
we would all see
sometimes that not enough, never enough, and just enough are all the same thing.
But our individual perceptions are off.
Because at the end of the day
And with all that happens in this crazy life
All you can hope for is another day.
But with that realization
you have the chance to change your attitude.
You can now approach everyday knowing that you can and will accomplish enough.
And no one can ever take that from you.
Enough is what you make it,
And you will always have enough.

Apostle Matthew Encountered

Apostle Matthew encountered...
artist, dragon and gangster extraordinaire

Here at 2 Highland Manor Drive
Schwenksville, Pennsylvania.

Actually all three people
linkedin to each other courtesy
Dissociative Identity Disorder
(Multiple Personality Disorder).

Wiccan up to mystical alien way
I raptly listened as she didst soothsay
scanned -- din heavy yen reference
about paganistic folkloric history
regarding Sweden and Oslo (also) Norway.

The missus dubbed
aforementioned young gal "curvy girl,"
a zaftig smart young woman
super talented self taught herself
to draw, sketch, and paint.

Only unmarried millennial men need apply,
perhaps someone who hails from buckeye
state - ideally above average
humorous gallivanting fellow
plus somewhat meshuggeneh cockeye
Louie garden variety
wealthy eccentric recluse
who doth blatantly defy
establishmentarian paradigm

you rarely espy,
cause he stays sequestered
about dozen doors down
from (femme fatale) ha
said alluded to chick named
three faces of Jen Fry
easy on the eyes
courtesy me, a generic guy,
who experienced amicable chat

referencing aforementioned lass
the first encounter with her
found yours truly saying "hi"
devoid of ulterior motives
only casual acquaintanceship did I imply
cuz even if this former bachelor
(got married twenty fifth of July
nineteen hundred and ninety six)
hypothetically decoupled,

cuz the age difference between us
quite substantial qua aging baby boomer
born two years after Bridge
over the River Kwai
filmed - then rocked to sleep
courtesy Brahms lullaby
if fain to sire offspring with lass
(young enough to be my daughter)
kiddos would witness their papa to mummify

Our friendly communication
peppered with structures of silence
coasted along with zest
and dialed up quite lathered dialogue
betwixt us I do attest
mutual comfort level quickly established
between yours truly
and said attractive beefy babe,
who possessed killer thunder thighs
shaking the entire firmament.

Premium Member Superman Exposed

Superman was originally portrayed as a superhero
Fighting crime, being a do-gooder for wee kiddos
Well big people too
But here's juicy news
Molested young chickies while using a *****

Premium Member Choppers

If you have never felt a hug given by a pair of tiny little choppers
Then you have spent life wanting for a hug that's especially proper
The hands of little's know better than us all
That ten digits are stronger when forming a ball
Hold them extra close when they stretch out those arms
For they hug with purposely immeasurable charms
Those images created by kiddos that are the spitten
Of what we all looked like not in gloves but mittens

Holiday Fun

Old Frosty once danced through the square,
With a scarf that flew wild in the air.
But the sun came in view,
And he melted—boo-hoo!
Now his top hat just sits in despair.

Rudolph, with his nose all aglow,
Led Santa through blizzards of snow.
But the elves gave a cheer,
When they spotted reindeer—
With hot cocoa to warm up the show!

Dear Santa was caught in a bind,
When he left his gift list far behind.
So he guessed on the toys,
For the girls and the boys,
Hoping none of the kiddos would mind.

Dinosaurs

Miss Lily wishes happy holidays
Little kiddos dancing to draw in the sunny days

Johnny, Tiny, Minnie, Stella, Jimmy in glee
to colour the Dinos in their books
with glitter, rainbow, many crazy looks

Lazy Johnny dreams in pride
A jaunty and jolly Jobaria tail ride

Tiny creates colorful horns for Triceratops
In all hues and shades of her lollipop

Minnie paints some green sauce for cutie Minmi
Licking her chocolate she paints its armor all brown and light
Bursts into peels of laughter at the sight

Little Stella splashes yellow on Stegosaur back
Dreams of drawing all her friends on its bony plate frock

Little Jimmy dreams of going to school on a Velociraptor
Makes him the captain of his toy helicopter
A uniform and cap for his Dino pal he draws
Paints a tie and shoes for his cool paws

It’s a wonder world of dinos, colours and golden spots
For all these sprightly tiny tots

The Fourth Quarter

The Fourth Quarter

Here in the fourth quarter
When time seems to
Press the pedal to the
Floor and years rush by
Like birds migrating south
In a rush to escape harsh
Winters and cold winds
I often take a moment to
Reflect on the joy in my life
A lucky man with children and
Grandchildren wonderful and
Healthy in mind, body and spirit
But my luck doesn’t end there
My friends are of the kind I
Make sure to have with me
As my journey unfolds
Down this path or the next
They are like old, worn jeans
Soft and exquisitely comfortable
Some for sixty years or more and
Our chosen family expands and
Contracts with births and deaths
Like any other, but this one is MINE
It’s the one I celebrate life with
We boogie to the music together
Party at each other’s homes
Love up each other's kiddos and
Choose many life adventures
As a group undertaking
What a blessing to have had them
At my side for all these years
Always sure they had my back
As they all knew I had theirs
So the fourth quarter is filled
With love, fun and we always
Let the good times roll...

Fightcoronafromhome

Today some of us have been,
Allowed to work from home!
While this is a power with you,
To self manage on your own!

While kiddos at home will be happy,
To see mommies and daddies working!
And elders will be proud,
To watch their children perking!

But remember agents this power,
Comes with huge responsibily!
For it will show how good you are
With multi-tasking ability!

So some on calls will hear,
Sounds of small ones shouting!
And some will have technical issues,
While e-devices try connecting!

But this is the time,
Where you can Bond for Change!
Help/understand your team-mates/pals,
Even physically staying out of range!

So take that responsibility,
And make up your mind!
And together we can win,
Until things become fine!

Premium Member Autumn

Autumn chills clear windowpane
Hearkens dread of a cold wet rain
Rare hot sun hard to explain.

We observe the first morning frost
The cloud-blossom of cold exhaust
Footprints left on grass we crossed.

Covering up the backyard pool
Layers of clothing become the rule
Time kiddos return to school.

Fresh fireplace log crackles and burns
A pot of soup simmers and churns
Season depression returns.
