Best Jesu Poems
In the silence of the air
the piano plays softly, inviting us to
dream a little, forgetting all our woes
A million butterflies of joy settle in our hearts, as we
withhold the strum of useless words.
Let us opt to sit on a hill of serene emotions,
while the Christmas Spirit sifts through us, like gold...
Anticipation, excitement, it can be ours
if we arrive at His doorstep, (il bambino Jesu)
Our Baby, Jesus...
Bring your imagination forth cherished souls that you are,
know that anything is possible if you believe.
Trust in your own ability to create magic from the
disheveled thoughts of yesterday.
Remember to allow the Christmas Spirit to glow inside of you,
dance with it,
and as you tip the balance, lean on the good side.

I know you see me from up there,
from halfway up the steep and twisting lane.
In early half-light as you take your walk
I no doubt seem to loom as you descend,
appear to grow, to rise from earth,
my boxlike rectilinearity,
severe and unadorned geometry,
a silhouette against the solitary sodium source.
I once hosted fiery-throated hymns
from dedicated souls in Sunday best:
“Marchog, Jesu, yn llwyddiannus”,
“O! Iesu mawr, rho d’anian bur” –
voices rich and raised and resonant,
so filled with faith, so gorged with God.
My pitch-pine pews were polished
by coat and skirt and trouser twill.
Abandoned now, unloved, slab-still,
void and stark and desolate,
with quarry-tiled floor that would resound
with joy were anyone to walk upon it,
I present gaping emptiness, a thing felt,
a cave whose darkness, palpable,
is peopled by retreating echoes of my past,
like timorous ghosts far too afraid to speak.
But there is One I must not name –
though He might be known by
the four letters of the tetragrammaton –
who lodges in my roomy quarters,
cowers within my tight square corners,
seeking shadows when the sun stares in.
I hear Him breathing as
He sweats in His remorse, a thing smelt.
He hides from the accusing eyes of every nation,
the eyes that witness daily His forlorn creation.
(The chapel speaking here is in a small place in West Wales, UK)
(Translations: “Marchog, Jesu, yn llwyddiannus” = "Ride on Jesu, all victorious"; “O! Iesu mawr, rho d’anian bur” = "O Jesu, let Thy spirit bless")

BAYEDE
Bayede , Son of man, Bayede!
You who outsmart the invisible God of our ancestors,
You who perfect the creations of the One-Who-Cannot-Be-
Imagined.
Modernizer of flying dragons that drop eggs down on cities –
They whose eggs hatch bouncing chicks, enveloped in
clouds with no linings.
O Inventor of plague-like rain and diseases,
What a mutagen of nature you are!
Bayede, Son of man, Bayede!
With lashes and nails, Jesu surrendered to your cross,
With a red stroke, sons of heaven rot to die in your jails,
With omission and neglect, sages die muzzled and
forgotten.
Yes! You appraise absolute truth and belittle the God of our
ancestors.
Yes! You sentence God to eternity in your prisons.
What a demystifier of God you are!
Bayede, dredge of ocean and land marrow, Bayede!
You who imprison nature and charge for entrance,
You who farm waste to fertilize the sky and the soil and the
waters,
You who crack cells and sells us mutants for cyborgs.
Colonizer of oceans, You’ll soon reside under the ocean,
Colonizer of space, You’ll soon drill the Moon and Mars,
Build supermaxes and nuthouses up there.
Yes! as God-shrike, You’ll lynch angels and the sons of
heaven up there, yes!
But look, O youngest brother of Mu, just look:
We are on the brink of taking a Cosmic Route.
Look, O man who inherited breast milk from Atlantis,
O, no-no, don’t borrow Madam Lot’s eyes.
Look, and listen to your heart: The voice within
is the call of the Cosmic Brotherhood!

O Jesu, Jesus, Jesus
You came when I called.
You brought Your loving touch.
Your angels were fully armed
With purpose of victory.
Every visit You make is exciting.
Nothing is mild or mundane about Your presence.
When You arrive,
You bring force, meaning, and authority.
What a pleasant sight to see
Your workers going about their duties.
My cross is ready and willing.
Please keep me informed
Of the events that I meet the requirements of.
From my heart, I thank You
For the mile stones You've placed in my path.
They help me keep focused on my part.
I trust in Your Word.
Jesus Christ
For I knew I had no escape route to take.
My adversary had succeeded this time in his assault.
To my redeemer I turned to.
To Jesus I faced once again.
My saviour, who I had wounded once more.
My advocate, whom I had scorned and disgraced through my acts.
*Shanu mi Jesu.*
*Have mercy on me and plead my case once more*
Offering my heart once more as his retainer fee.
For my worldly riches counted for naught before Him.
Fully convinced of my genuine repentance, my advocate rose up.
In His mighty voice, He outlined the case for my defence.
Citing His boundless love for me as grounds to void this summon.
Citing the presence of my genuine humility and godly sorrow as grounds for a quash.
Citing Micah 7:8-9 as a treatise upon which the devil's unlawful retaining rights be revoked.
Citing Ezekiel 33:10-12 as factual evidences wherein the judge HIMSELF established excellency of repentance over judgement.
Citing Ezekiel 18:32 as a factual evidence wherein the judge HIMSELF established His preference of life as opposed to death.
With these arguments, my salvation was sealed once more.
A pardon was issued by the God Almighty.
The testimonies of witnesses Lie and Hypocrisy were null.
The prosecutors case was thrown out.
Into my eyes my eyes, my advocate said.
*DO BETTER NOW MY CHILD*

Let serene tranquility transport me
To my highest poetic aspirations.
Let me feel the thrill, the chill, the bliss
When this exquisite operatic song
Encompasses my entire body.
Let the musical magic sustain in
Echoes of reflective contemplation.
When this music fills my yearning soul
With Angelic reverberations...
A crescendo of divine harmonies is
Showered in auditory pleasures
Tending to leave me a bit breathless
In awe of hearing heavenly sounds,
Making my heart reel in rhapsodies.

Keresimesi (Christmas)
Jesu Kristi (Jesus Christ)
The reason
The reason why we celebrate
The reason for the season
A King so great
The birthday that causes all to unite
Friends and family we invite
A day of love
A season of love
Gift giving
Busy kitchens
Carol singing
And great thanks we’ll be giving
Keresimesi (Christmas)
A day of delight
Kind thoughts
Warm hugs
Warm pots
And happy children
Summon them to come worship the King!
On this great day
Summon them to come!
A beautiful song we’ll play
So much singing and dancing
So much excitement
So much laughter
Joy right now and hereafter
Jesu Kristi (Jesus Christ)
The reason for all the merriment
Jesu Kristi (Jesus Christ)
The birthday of the King
Great gifts we bring
Keresimesi (Christmas)
Let’s sing a song of praise
The name of the King we raise
A song of gratitude
With a jolly attitude
We dance tirelessly
We laugh carelessly
With love in our hearts
Compassion and generosity
We spread the love
Keresimesi (Christmas)
Come let’s worship the King
Keresimesi (Christmas)
Come let’s worship

*JUST A REMINDER: Some of these words are made up to go along with the story line. For
these purposes, the lyrics must sound like they are being said in a ritual.

When the green grass grows
And the flowers bloom
I hear the fleminade growing to my humble tune
Its bright and its warm
All life is being born
I feel the breath of life upon my soul

Memories of Bach
At 17, I performed a solo ballet to Bach
Below a sparkling sky,
On a park’s open green grass.
The choreography flowed.
I was well-rehearsed.
The opportunity, special, before
Some of our gathered city’s spectators.
This genius: Bach.
This glorious cantata:
“Jesu,]oy of Man’s Desiring.”
And, I, the young ballerina,
Wrapped very Grecian-like in an ivory, silk tunic,
Stepping out to
Meet the first notes,
Humbly opening my arms
— first right, then left —
To invite the music to my dance.
But, barely a quarter-minute into the piece,
I was overwhelmed —
As my first dance ever
Out-of-doors —
The sky was my ceiling
And it was too high,
Making my reaching upward breathless.
There were no stage wings
To mark the arrowing points of my arabesques.
My memory lost all upcoming moves
To the sparse clouds
in their swirling crossing of the sky.
I let Bach choreograph my choice
Of upcoming motions as I
Let myself become his music
On to the end.
About a decade later,
On a cloudless, August day,
(the hottest day that year).
I asked for Bach
To sound, again.
Dear Bach’s
“Jesu Joy of Man’s Desiring,” rose
Meeting our ears so magnificently
From the organ, as
I stepped into the church,
Wearing yards of wrapped white silk.
I stepped gently down the aisle
Toward my waiting groom.
My own joy carried me
Into the cantata
In celebration of
Our wedding day and
Of our decades of love
Together, on that day
Just beginning.

Thanks be to God
Awaiting the release
Emerging from a cocoon stage
Producing a power within.
That transforms from the
Inside out.
Making me more aware of my abilities
And that
true dependence on others is faulty at best
Realizing there are no guarantee
It’s amazing and yet humbling
My place in the world is not established by
Varies organization and publication
But by my belief in myself
Sometimes we are not sure of our path in life.
We get blinded and distracted along our journey.
It can keep us from reaching the finish line.
God come along my journey and clears my vision
And my destiny is redefined
I found hope along my journey, and his name is Jesu
Thousands of freshly cut lilies in bloom
Signify life and a promise of peace
Three days gone by then they opened the tomb
Christ Jesu arise, from sin you release
From flower so precious, falls lone raindrop
Reminds all who love ye to praise thy name
Prince full of glory and love that shan't stop
Precious Lord Jesus ye healèd the lame
Lilies so white without blemish or mark
Son of the Father ye loosèd the chain
Heart led by peace, ye destroyed Prince of Dark
Death upon Calv’ry, left children unstained
Lilly that shines like the Halo of Lamb
Lord Jesus, descendant of Abraham
Affect matters more than numbers do
Reason without love ,so blind to ends
Rational means were used to kill our Jews.
Searching Europe’s “haystacks” for a clue
Reason makes its wondrous, obscene blend
Affect matters more than numbers do
When Belsen was relieved, who bought the glue?
The bones of suffering dead might, did offend
Rational calculaters tortured Jew
Was Jesus rational, what the end he knew?
See his mother Mary, weeping,kind.
Affect matters more than numbers do
By the Christians, Jesus was abused
His brothers and his sisters barred, disdained
Factories were used to gas his Jews.
How to see what matters in the end
Hate outweighed by Love, controlled not blamed
Affect matters more than numbers do
Rational calculations ,G-d, oh G-d, Jesu.

Jesu !the very thought of thee,
Brings peace to my soul,
You liberate me from ,
All feelings of guilt and shame,
My heart becomes filled,
With joy and everlasting happiness,
I bury my worries,
And gets elated,
To lead a victorious life,
The peace that thou,
Bestoweth upon me,
Passeth all understanding;
My life is now filled with noble fragrances;
I praise thee with all my heart.
