Best Insentient Poems

Premium Member An Ode To Love

When we so chose, to manifest on earth,
Stirrings of love divine, brought forth a pulse;
Our innate aliveness, bubbling with mirth,
Humming resonation with God’s impulse,
Feeling by touch, each offered sensation,
In playful, blissful, childlike innocence.
Heart outpoured joy in spontaneous verse,
Soul aligned as one with all creation,
Dwelt in glory of God’s magnificence ~
Exuberance had no need to rehearse.

Our body had it’s need, fuelled by greed;
Gripped by desire, our mind was in a fog.
Stirrings of ego, soon started to breed,
Boon now bane, tail began wagging the dog.
Baton of awareness shifted to mind.
Insentient to love, our heart grew cold,
Enslaved by lust, we had nowhere to hide,
Bound head to foot in ego’s ruthless bind.
Love became a trade, soul to devil sold,
Our heart contacted, though God dwelt inside.

Back to the start, the time our soul was free;
By God’s grace, we melded head with our heart,
Throb of love as conscience, our referee,
Soul’s radiance restored as work of art.
Love in love with love offers no excuse,
Beauteous, all embracing, lyrical.
Bubbling effervescence is it’s delight;
Presence then succumbs not to ego’s ruse,
An epitome of God’s miracle,
Love drenched soul again glows as living light.

Bondage

How can I stand beneath a brilliant moon,
if it's reflections are for me alone?
Spend time to view a vivid morning sun,
if unable to share it with someone?
How enchanting is a flowered garden,
if you are not a part of its beauty?
The joyful walking in a woodland glen,
is wasted without your acuity.
Natures colors, hues, shades, raw and brilliant,
fade away into an insentient gleam.
Can I ride in the tail of a comet,
without you at my side urging us on?

Does the ocean's might waves surge and roar
when Poseidon's chariot comes ashore?

Premium Member Death Entwined in Living Vines

Something dreadful is reflected in this scene
Could be she's seen death in a horrid dream, or
perhaps a relapse of an affliction or addiction
has left her crestfallen, in an insentient state
with the blood of her sin dripping from her eyes.
In vines, she's entangled for having sat so long
Grieving for whatever tragedy has gone wrong.
Entwined in living vines of a scarlet rose
more alive than she appears to be.

Is it a dark disgrace she bears in this pose?
One Poe would have drawn to illustrate a poem
telling a dark tale as black ravens preen.
With iridescent wings fluttering, they hover near
plucking at an ornament worn round her neck
Cawing attention to her pox in squawking voices,
making her circumspect for being called a sinner.
Has she committed some dark dastardly deed
that's left her sitting on that garden bench
as if in widow's threads, dreading her crime
and praying Mea Culpas for forgiveness?

Forlorn she sits, weary from existence,
oblivious to the avian souls. Do they guard her
or are they being persistent in cawing her shame?
Has she been the victim of some abysmal crime?
What horror must be kept secreted in her mind
and what keeps her kohled eyes closed as if blind?

Don't ask the black bird for he has sworn allegiance
Nevermore would he tell the tale of it all as she falls
ever deeper into the madness that has left her cold.
Aa alabaster statue on a garden bench.
Is she missing her beloved when he was claimed by death
or a wench who in an act of jealousy killed her lover?
The sin committed in passion is a mortal blunder and more...
A flaw in the heart of one Poe would never call Lenore.

Premium Member Anacreontic Couplets - Recognition

Unaware of who we are,
it’s clear we’ve drifted afar,
insentient to God’s light,
glowing within, day and night.
To this end, our will we bend,
that in silence, we ascend,
simply melding head with heart,
feeling bliss ignition start.
Ego dies, we become wise,
truth of Self then realise,
dancing with love cheek to cheek,
that we are he, who we seek.

Mute Man Song

A sad emotive
Blue ballad from
The broken soul
Of a mute man poet

His heart pounds a silent beat
From deep within
As he begins
To ballet with his fingers
Vocalizing his pain
To the world of blind and deaf
In the monsoon rain
Of his tears

As he express
His feelings and fear
About his future
In this cold world
Of insentient hearts
Being blind, mute or deaf
Doesn’t mean dead

This is the pain
That was easy to swallow
But hard to digest
So now I suggest
To take this fiery feeling
Out of my chest

Because they alienate us
They dig black holes
For us to find homes
Because all we are to the society
We lost souls

To those
Who got eyes to see
And ears to listen
We are just disable clowns
Because we are half human

But to those who got
Minds to think
And hearts to feel
We all human beings

Change the Story

Change the story
These words kept ringing in my ears
Change the story
That's not what people want to hear
Every morning you saturate the airwaves
with insentient and agonizing words
disdaining my intelligence
and rekindling a treacherous fire
You have gone down that road before
stirring up fear and doubt
Impeding upon history
And trespassing on my dignity.
You have eroded all civility
spilling vengeance , derision and anger
Catering to their weaknesses
And making unrealistic promises.
Change your groundless theory and
work towards unity
stand up for what you believe in
and stop this useless masquerading
You have been hammering a tale
that is so hard to bear
The chronicle keeps duplicating itself
resonating deeply in despair
The music is playing loudly
Echoing mystics in the air
Change the precarious story
and face the fight with decency.

Human Nature

We live like lost souls,
Hateful, vengeful, and hurtful,
Numb insentient

Unconscious minds, perpetrators of pain,
oblivious to karma they accrue,
continue their feral sadism insane,
until grazed by the magnetic bliss dew;
then love enabled ~ destiny soul drew.
We are insentient to inner light,
being what we are, aglow day and night,
for free will’s chosen not path of wellness,
falling from grace, yet feeling not contrite,
shrouding luminescence of blissfulness.

Breach

I am bare; entropy skinned to misery.
I do not see the point of death,
If death is never consciously met.

And when instead
We revert to less than an abstract glint;
A pregnant thought that was never dreamt.

And when our flesh returns to earth,
As residual of insentient rebirth.

The unborn know death when there is nothing to know.
The voice inside still digs out to grow
For perspective as seen from infinity below,

With all this eternity and nowhere to go.

Siamese Twin

SIAMESE TWIN
By Joel Thornton may 2015

Insentient

Insidious/deplorable

The fecal sediment settles to my sentiment

The sewages now inseparable.

An inability to act

Apathetic and indifferent

Pathetically react

Meaningless and unaware.

Now incapable of disjoining

Fused, spliced to the core.

Combining

Convergence

The gore, the urgency.

The horrible timing

The irony, how unfair.

Damn Kids With Your Technology

Fire alarms sieze me by the tongue
And they show me the way that I can burn
Electrical sparks ignite electronic flames
And my output of saliva is the battery
Program the inferno
Douse it with water to make it spread
You’re the arsonist, an insentient machine
I’m America's effigy

Premium Member The Dominion of Man

Humanity accosted the once pristine lake
judging it insentient.
Man spilled sewage into the lakes depths.

Humanity …screaming its dominion
pounds the placid waters with their toys.
Releasing an unbridled urge for speed
lubricating their pipes with liquor
demeaning the essence
and true nature of thirst…

Humanity_ hedonists to the core
quash the captive waters,
home to fish, fowl and fauna.
Spring fed lakes across the continents of man
treated with disdain
Girdled, damned, polluted
with oil of man…

Fishermen, such as He, can only cry.

Premium Member Endless Patience

It being crystal clear
we self block the divine current
owing to hidden fear
thus insentient to the love scent

The limitation in peaked fullness
of the divine electricity
owing to in-form energy conduits
constrained by identity

Surrender conditional
attempting steering by doership
as long as mind active
our ego spirals in oneupmanship

Whilst flowing in a calm tranquil
self aware awareness
vaporising into the heart spacial
in a sea of blissfulness

Time & tide do flow on
as we are reshaped on the anvil
we rest in staid silence
surrendering residual egoic will

Premium Member Journey Without Movement

Awaking from sleep
We found ourselves here
For no reason at all
Grinning from ear to ear

Our joy was short-lived
As analytical mind took over
Encasing us in a cloud of dust
Stifling our hearts playful caper

Lethargy anchoring us in a comfort zone
Confining attention in a narrow domain
We soon became insentient to throb of love
Ingraining habits leaving our soul stained

Upon reaching the point of exhaustion
We chose cessation, nestled in silence
Therein, astonished at feeling magnetism
Teleporting us to bliss transcendence

Such dear friends, is the world within
A journey without linear movement
Wherein rapture of thunderous bliss ignition
Envelopes us in a sea of tranquil contentment

Juxtaposition

Science is such bad faith.

Are we to believe that the cosmos, the earth, our very bodies
Consist of particles as insentient and cold as the glacial mass of Jupiter?
That ordinary thoughts and strokes of genius emerge equally
From random firings of neural synapses?
That the origins of noble ideals, or loyalty, or commitment
	Reside in arbitrary molecular motions?
That friendship, love, or hate appear ex nihilo, the products
Of unfeeling chains of subatomic collusions?

Science is such bad faith.

The seemingly senseless swirlings of unseen particles are but
Corporeal manifestations of a higher calling,
Material resonances of the spirit,
Soul of the cosmos, the earth, the body.
Does not a glance between lovers set in motion
The symphony of a trillion trillion molecules?
Does not the seeing of the pulchritudinous palette of a sunset
Ignite synchronous activities in remote regions of the brain?
Do not joy, sadness, or pleasure govern a host
	Of chemical permutations?

Science is such bad faith.

Who knows?
Perhaps molecules are communities of beings wrapped
	In passionate embrace.
Perhaps even electrons sing and weep
	And make love.
