Last Good-Bye

This is where you opened my naked soul
The dark cold river in within the dead eyed fish
The black swans eying the lonely moon
You rise like a spear clutching a gun... my gun
The gun that burned stoned woods with the heat of my love
The gun that opened the skies and rained it with agony
Agony of a lonesome lover trying to kill the devil within him
Trying to escape the foggy grounds and blooded graves
You walked towards me with soft nude footsteps
My heart doth tumble to the sound of an angel breath
Striking my blind eyes with the sun of your golden heart
The heart that turned stony coffins to gold and black hearts to spring lullabies
You halt and search for air as your eyes turn lavish red
Your lungs feel like stone and rigid rocks but no river there to water the pain
You bend towards me and tears crash on me like hailing grenades
I shout out your name and tell you I'm here...
But I am trapped in the lonesome grounds of the dead Gods
You look at me and strike a smile then cry
You hold up the gun while saying the last good-bye:
"We once were one and now you left me
Left me alone in the dark even when you promised that you won’t
You left a broken soul that no mending can it receive
But you are mine and we are entwined
As I'll crash in the bed of roses over your grave
And fill the earth with my blood...
The blood of your love I will spill it to the ground
The blood that will ingrain trees of love birds
The blood that will tell the dead who we are
The blood that will teach Romeo and Juliet what is love..."
… Bang... I hear the sound of death...
I hear you are lying next to me once again
... But now forever.

Premium Member The Forgiveness Trap

The sense of injury we feel,
owing to belied expectation,
by ego thought spirals amplified,
leads to our suffering and agitation.

Thus arises the real reason to forgive,
for us to heal our wounded heart.
So, is forgiveness selfish?
Let the debate start!

A flying wasp stings
or a stray dog bites us.
We feel pain but shrug it off,
accepting what is, making no fuss.

So, it’s not pain but the expectation,
we have from souls in human form,
that causes us mental anguish,
when denied embrace warm.

If we let go of expectation,
accepting each soul as they are,
then irrespective of their behaviour,
we’ll exit narrowness and cease to spar.

The need for us to forgive is obviated,
for we never ever feel injured at all,
humorously viewing play of life,
in monk mode, standing tall.

Acceptance, not forgiveness,
is then the attribute to ingrain,
looking at spirit and not outer form,
soaring at heights, free from ego stain.

Faithfully?

From a faithful heart a world torn apart, from a battered
mind two taken from time.

A heavy heart you touched my soul though to me you
were not know but, in this senseless violence there is comfort
because to Heaven you have flown.

When I think of this wildness I can’t help but be filled with so much
anger, I lay my face in my hands and cry for your terror.

A million antecedents, your heart must have been huge; or did he
ingrain in your mind something that wasn’t true?

For love or something, you endured and paid the ultimate sacrifice,
so let’s never forget Teresita and Rachel, ironically they showed us
how to save a life.

From a faithful heart a world torn apart, from a battered
mind two taken from time.
(Victims of family violence taken from the world)

Premium Member Come Ride Into Life's Sunset

Written in response to traveling west on a highway facing the sun setting behind dark gray clouds

Come ride into life's uncertain sunset
Where dark clouds may accumulate with dread
Sun's only peeking through mostly ordained
Giving life those moments when with wingspread

One soars in the presence of the Son's love
Feeling His voice tenderly saying come
Feast at my table of gifts tasty, Dove
Focus your eyes upon my beauty some

Ride to life's sunset whatever circumstance
It may present, hold my hand_understand
This is new ground for me_hope accrescence
In love of mankind for heading to promise land

Uncertain skies streaked with gray, sun at bay
Love can lift, sustain, ingrain us for day!

accrescence means growth, continous growth

Influence

That mask pertain,
seems sustenance ordain,
the foolish choice, so bartered with disdain,
to organize one's premise seems remain!
A docile choice, but holding on in vain!

Oh hand of God, reach out,
I must proclaim, deliverance seems liable,
in false aim. The breeching of content is thought's exchange,
confusion by the sinful taught derange!
How timely, Oh that wilderness contain.

Soul's life, unknown by Earthly main,
proceed my Faith, a challenge in restrain,
yet "pass the buck" a cowardly ingrain.
Peace, take my thought, no categories sane,
Influence, Oh the ide's of time's enslave . . .

is lasting, though demeaning's choice . . . stays same!

Premium Member Lost In Sorrow a Sad Christmas

Winter takes in its arms weeping stars as dawn draws in.
The sky turned from black to a steel gray;
snow rest upon the roof tops and yards revealing the ingrain coverlet beauty.

I walk the halls naked in the depth of despair and death;
deep darkness devours until hollow.
My mind spins to inner depth, lost in sorrow.
I pine and die inside.
Looking for comfort, but you're not around.

With winter outside
my heart weeps like a child.

Where have you gone?

Demented baneful hurt,
come out of your tomb
be gone for all eternity.

Once your hands touched my face
and with your eyes you said I do,
that Christmas day.
Now just a fading memory.
Your light grows dim and I've inherited the pain.

A Poetic Pinnacle – Release 2
By Franklin Price12/10/2016

A poetic pinnacle I'm trying to attain
The thought of it is daunting as it's running through my brain
There is no heavy lifting, where I would need a crane
I meet it with some humor and never with disdain
I hope I am successful that it will entertain
Familiarity with many words I will attempt to feign
I try it mainly for myself, want nothing else to gain
Want new underwear for Christmas, I hope that they are Hanes
Further alphabet progression in this poem I will ingrain
More difficult than first grade and reading Dick and Jane
Or remembering the Senator, Virginia's Timmy Kaine
All the letters so far were left where they were lain
I must leave them lying there my progress to maintain
My wisdom tooth is hurting I need some novocaine
The dentist is a friend of mine, he will help me to obtain
A shot placed in the gum below will take away the pain
Now back to the monorhyme that's not a short quatrain
Of the letters in the alphabet, only eight remain
Hope that I can make it while still remaining sane
If you see me spouting gibberish put me on the crazy train
That travels to a plane that will fly me to Ukraine
Before I arrive I'll comb my hair I'm just a little vain
The excitement now of writing this, beginning now to wane
The first shot now is wearing off, I'll now use xylocaine
For “Y” I'll make a German word just to “yankyourchain”
This attempt has made me hungry, I think I'll eat some Zatarain

Finally finished all the alphabet, though “Y”'s a little bane
Had help from several writing friends who planted words of grain
PANTYGYNT, HUMPWHISTLE and the first who was SANEJANE
Without them, Pinnacle 2 is not, or at least be quite inane.

No Fake Fire Drill

No "FAKE" Fire Drill

Residents at high
     land manor apartments
     (aside from myself)
     got rudely awakened -
     by what sounded
     like a screaming,
     seething, and shrieking airplane
early morning hour

     'ere september eleventh
     two thousand eighteen
     with deafening decibel (at
     maximum threshold)
     ear piercing shrill alarm
     rousing atavistic primal
     Neanderthal tapping primal brain
if NOT a atheist secular humanist,

I would aver my linkedin match
     (com mon lee) attributed
     to Abel and/or Cain,
but whether broad
     minded or parochial,
     that deafening fire alarm
     this bloke doth disdain
but to ears of

     volunteer fire fighters,
     that unbearable audio
     warning tone beloved,
     aye need not explain
how appreciative, and
     reassure ring knowing
     rough and ready persons fain
to selflessly risk

     life and/or limb,
     when trucking
     extinguishing arsenal
     with genuine gratitude to gain
demonstrating without
     pomp and circumstance
     the art of being humane
automatic reflexive

     instincts second nature
     where breathe, eat,
     and live for others
     a credo, dictum,
     ethos deep ingrain
within every cell
     of their sturdy bodies,
     sans indefatigable as

     Tarzan and Jane
on par with prestidigitation skill
visa vis tricks of the trade
     discovered via legerdemain,
yet aside from
     power house strength,
     another salient trait
     needed asper physically,

     emotionally, and spiritually exhausting,
     grueling, and taxing job,
     would necessitate one to maintain
composure in the
     midst of pandemonium
     gamely, gingerly, and

     gloriously fighting infernos
(WITHOUT any mon
     key business)
     while training, learning,
     and exacting diligence
     non harried styled
     tailored swiftness!

Amberosia

There she sits pristine and demure
catching the center of mine eye
within a glint of thoughts impure
my breath exhales a forlorn sigh

Beyond few others to compare
a Duchess - far from being trite
I can not help but sit and stare
yearning her face to ingrain sight

Holds herself well, so full of grace
strong - yet passionate - her aura
illumines with her smiling face
long to bathe her in rose flora

I pine to be enwrapped amid
her eyes and silky golden locks
the thought leaves me feeling sordid
must keep inside Pandora's box

Glides across the floor with such ease
her scent it does intoxicate
penultimate sense which to please
never so much to satiate

Penult - there's one more important
her touch - which I will never know
no frets - I'm not a psychophant
with dreams of her 'round my pillow

A mere man who appreciates
the beauty that she possesses
one who just wants to demonstrate
the spell she has cast that vexes

There's no ulterior motive
for me penning these words on down
I know they aren't really pensive
nor fit for this Queen as a crown

Is Life

To some life is a precious thing
With moments filled with Joy
For others life’s a burden
With happy destroyed

For those who travel happy roads
They do not know the pain
Of others who endure life’s wrath
And find each day a drain.

They do not see the agonies
That seeks some people out
For in their joyful bubble
There is no fear and Doubt

Yet fear and anguish fill our lives
That daily wave’s ingrain
And leaves us looking forward
For joy we can’t obtain

Fidelity's Duplicitous Door

Fealty's door was satin stained
Durable wood pulped from reliable strain
With blithe trim and decadent frills overlain
Lofty mantle Love's precedence to ordain
Interior with taut, strong fibers ingrain
Golden chain to seal our matrimonial domain

O'er time, your jaundiced mind did abstain
The frilly vows from the lacquered surface drain
The bonding fibers your incontinence could not restrain
Crown molding shrouding romance cankered with disdain
Titular mantle with self-serving goals rent in twain
In unrepentant rage, severed Oath's melding chain

Fools

Freedom was our brethren for the longest century,
Our dreams were tears of lotuses in the lake.
Our God was king of all humanity,
And still a fool of ourselves we made.

One voice surrounded by a million others,
And in those millions were millions unheard.
Ears were shut and mouths opened,
And still our tongues didn't utter a word.

Men and women cured maladies
Sacrificed existence to ingrain their names in the stars,
How we blamed those stars for the tiniest of adversities,
Ran away on two feet, far afar.

In time, when our ashes will be dust,
A new dawn will awake.
Henchmen will continue the unbounded legacy,
And they too will, fools of themselves, make.

Premium Member Wabi-Sabi Stains

Every touch and flicker grazes our heart,
evoking response as of consciousness
Mindful eye sees waves approach and depart,
detachedly centred in void of oneness

Play of emotions, marked by divergence,
contoured thus by judgmental perception,
seek to etch their imprint on innocence,
drawn by free will chosen resonation

Nurture oh hermit, wabi-sabi stains,
enriching the very fabric of soul,
distilling loves hues to gently ingrain
divine benedictions, making us whole

Heart the centre, wherein bliss throbs enter
An open heart feels joy currents canter
