Premium Member Pour Newness On Me

Washing away drab, dour and rotting elements,
falling rains cleanse our earth anew.
Sunlight returns to beam upon fresh, crisp nature.
I have begged the rain to pour newness on me,
but never does it heed my plea or grace my need.
Rain, I desperately beseech, please, as a cloud do burst
a purge of the thunderous fear, the stormy, stinging pain
and anxiety tidal waves continuously knocking me down.

The sun will never warm me with healing, soothing rays
if the rain never floods my concrete dam of depression,
freeing my life’s stream to flow with deep content.
Though the rain denies me relief, it keeps me company,
for its dark skies match my inner gray, dreary season
and give me proper reasons to shelter in isolation.
On rainy days, I may pretend that I’m part of life,
rather than a human drought of withering, mortal inertia.

I may even, fleetingly, allow myself to believe
the returning sun will spot the drenched me and,
in either mercy or love, revive, refresh and restore
my drowning, soggy spirit with rays of therapeutic warmth.
If only thunder would crack, roar and screech a demand
for skies to pour suicide ideology drops down in a loud,
rhythmic, lulling beat, such drops would, in time, evaporate
and I would realize the blessing of a true, deep, restful sleep.

Inertia

Inertia makes a monster of my
Self
I'm insatiable for making a
Progress.
Move, don't just tell yourself
You will.
Set the rules, then transgress.
The rebel inside of you deserves
Respect.

You're what you eat, don't
Lick
Your wounds, turn up the heat
By a caress. Love the self-contained
Monster you possess.
Let it off its leash and you'll feel
How it surges in your breast.

It's no place for old men
There is no case without offence
Commitment without intense
Embrace
Is a senile pretence.
To feign
Amusement shows lack of respect
For your own self.
Be a rebel, even an iron fist in a velvet
Glove is more wanted
Than just a silly old brat.

Awareness of the
Inertia makes a monster of my Self
If it didn't I would be suffocating
In a senile caress of my soul's
Protest.
Life transmutes the mind into
A monster who fights against mind's
Recess.

Premium Member humanity

Poets are the sense, philosophers the intelligence of humanity. ~ Samuel Beckett

Line of enquiry: Newton’s First Law of Motion (Inertia): An object at rest stays at rest, and an object in motion stays in motion unless acted upon by an external force.

love is contagious
fall in love
and many suitors will crawl out of the worn woodwork
a plethora of choices
confusing and so tempting
their motivation puzzling
spurred on by the common herd mentality
similar to following the politician who embraces pseudo-science
they do not have brakes

if you do not love
everything
and everyone seem hostile
escaping to your private abditory
might protect you from hurtful experience
but like a mixed metaphor
an implicature will lead to a pratfall
requiring others to mop up after you
your inertia inevitably noted

interaction with others
forms groundwork
for relationships
the external stimuli
essential for the development of empathy
open heart and mind
as a stagnant entity just cannot grow
but happily balter through the cobbled streets of life
validate your existence

POETIC INERTIA

As dreary working days stagger endlessly on
I’d like to run and reach the friendly Friday
At a speed only the flying time can reckon
For to waiting weekend it paves the pathway.

In the terminal two days of the week I get
Unshared time of my own to be with me
I sit by the window, see the sun rise and set
Write poems however crude these may be.

In routine cycle time takes the week to its end
The poetic inertia carries my mind to the muse
So much it wants the Sunday span to extend
Rendezvous with me doesn’t end while a recluse.

So if on mundane Monday morning rains pour
Within closed doors by the open window I’d stay
Let poems take rains’ silent rhythm to my core
I’d wish days are drowned, Friday comes next day.

The Inertia of Loneliness

Days of longing, days alone,
hours and hours spent on you own
days of dreaming still alone
anxious just to hear the phone.

Nights are sleepless, endless too,
the rooster's call long overdue,
the noise unwelcome when first heard,
that slave to time, punctilious bird
with undue timing breaks the dream,
the one with hope to make it seem
much better, but purports to fake
a false pretender when you wake.
For what was there is still in view,
you dream and dream but never do.

Days of longing, days alone,
hours and hours spent on your own,
nights of waking, nights in thought,
hours and hours that come to nought.

Song: Nothing Else Matter

Existence elapses with indifference
Technology replaces conversation
Cooling the most romantic lovers
Inertia to express human traits

Attraction search for qualities
Possesed by recipient of affection
Merging two different souls
In an indissoluble bonding

Express true feelings without hiding
Behind a spurious appearance
Flow freely as the gentle zephyr
Dance like you had never dance before

Inertia Be-Damned

Let me bash tambourines and praise the mind-body continuum
Grind out the miles, suffer the sweat.
Find me a hill to break if only in my mind
The foot-step's prints on the macadam
Invisibility obscuring the pain I must have.
The anguish broken to bits again.
My ears pop with the inspiration of all ages.
My thighs approve though my calves complain.
For a long instance my psyche melds with my physique
And I am one.

Inertia

I was just here, alone
Inactive and at rest
Until the day you came
I became something in motion.

Someone I've called my own
For me you are the best
If this is just a game
Then this will be my devotion

You brought me to a zone
North and south, east and west
To places without names
You left me without commotion

Sitting here on my own
Like birds, longing for nests
You, the person to blame
With heart that has no emotions.

I was just here, alone
Inactive and at rest
Please do come back to claim
Bring me to my old position.

Inertia

Then that was it.

The days that lit up and went out to ash,
The mourning of the self whose throat I had slashed.

Like carbon resurrects,
Living and breathing in all its effects.
Something that blooms out of so much death,
The inertia that I have finally met.

The smoke cleared,
And there was a quiet that breached
My thoughts,
Like the naked
Woman in my dreams.
It seeped
Out.

And it was real;
It was spoken aloud.
I touched it like the warmness of her body
As I hovered at her mouth.

I held it in my hand like a gash;
It ran too deeply into my skin to grasp.

Yet it wasn’t my own;
It was the excuse I used to gouge to the bone.

It wasn’t like the night looking down from the ledge,
Or her eyes when she followed me up to my bed.
It was nothing like the view from far overhead.

I made it like someone makes it home from death,
And now tomorrow is all that is left.

Back To Inertia

A short road back to misery
to self-loathing and acknowledgement of a cocoonish dystopia
walked with rotten teeth, fending off fever dreams.

It has been a while since the void had consumed
the remnants of light within.
And yet the haggard desperation of building a dam
ushers back memories.

The carapace is familiar against the skin.
Animated with the life of its own
it embraces its parasitic nature
and laughs for the world.

There was love in those stretched moments of utter escapism,
and joy and ecstasy of material gain,
pride thrived in radiating eyes
as life found meaning both in sacred and profane.

Things that had to go have long gone,
things that belong here will remain forever.
Acceptance can only come in such inertia.

Blinding Inertia

Blinding inertia bleeds extruding from your peripheries. Inverse cognition conjuring
within your grasp. To accommodate the psyche beyond id, clarity overtakes the
divine misdirection.

Inertia

Short spates of workaholic spurts of frenzied work.
A burst of starlight
That ignites the black,
Blights the black,
Fights the black,
Rights the black
Until the dark silence returns,
Until the frantic moments
Are usurped
By doldrums of daunting inertia,
A vast swathe of offensive nothingness,
A vapid vessel of pensive emptiness,
A quagmire of numbness,
Blindness, dumbness
And a brutal sense of futility.

Premium Member Come What May

the sun arises
so as not to surprise us
with freezing to death
mostly taken for granted
on this small circling planet

inertia reigns
within most things lacking brains
course remains the same
in daylight or deepest dark
be it stone atom or quark

things bend in the wind
time proven way to defend
avoid a dead end
better to guard what we've got
than contemplate a new start

not just the knowing
keeps understanding growing
often tis going
where all seems strange fresh and new
with unique truths to accrue

come what may or will
storm or unclimbable hill
pure fact or cheap thrill
despite all that is bygone
existence always moves on

Inertia

Blocked by walls of fear;
 Paralyzed footsteps - can’t breathe;
  Struck by indecision’s stones
   Stuck in time, the soul;

Reason crippled, heartbeats numbed -
Inertia casts blackest spells.
