It has been a while since the void had consumed the remnants of light within. And yet the haggard desperation of building a dam ushers back memories. The carapace is familiar against the skin. Animated with the life of its own it embraces its parasitic nature and laughs for the world. There was love in those stretched moments of utter escapism, and joy and ecstasy of material gain, pride thrived in radiating eyes as life found meaning both in sacred and profane. Things that had to go have long gone, things that belong here will remain forever.
