As I walked into the banquet hall of the
Goodman’s Inn, the first thing that stood
out to me were the eyes of the people. I
felt as though I could actually see hope. Eyes
seemed to sparkle and everyone in the hall
sat talking to the others sitting around them
as they waited for the main course of the evening.
To understand this report we need to go back just
over a year ago when Lindsey Long won the 50
million dollar lottery. Apparently the multimillionaire
booked the Goodman’s Inn for December 24th through
to January 2nd of this year solely to house the homeless
over the Christmas holidays. Miss Long walked through
the streets herself over the last week inviting the
unfortunate homeless to come to the motel for these
festivities. Lindsey Long has not only provided the rooms
for this week, she also has clothed them with new
wardrobes and warm winter clothing and accessories.
Now as the people sat around the table they were
told Miss Long had an announcement. We all waited
to hear what this amazing lady had to say
and excitement filled the room. When this
beautiful young woman began to talk there
wasn’t one dry eye in the building. She told them
how she was not going to just send them back
on the street next week but how she had
built a new centre that would have sleeping
facilities and showers to accommodate all
of them. This new facility will be serving
three meals a day which will be prepared solely
from themselves on a voluntary bases.
The feeling in the Inn that night was pure joy
and as the people realized the impact of this
wonderful news, they all broke out singing
It Came Upon a Midnight Clear. This is

God is my great help:
Assuring my soul
Building my life
Cheering my heart
Directing my feet
Empowering my will
Fortifying my faith
Gladdening my spirit
Hoisting my well-being
Illumining my mind
Jubilating my service

Credit Kills More People
Than It Helps
By
Tom Wright
There was a young man from Stone Bluff,
Who purchased all his “stuff” on the cuff?
But then one day,
It came time to pay,
And that bankruptcy court sure was rough

No Sweat Revisions (Booze Helps)
Poet speaks:
“To write a poem you can easily revise
it’s best to use free verse,
for it requires so little thinking and
besides with thought could come content
revisions just might lose.
Why take any chances?”
Reader speaks:
"Whatever does he mean?
My God this guy is deep!
Most modern stuff is so opaque,
but here the words are clear. Though
purpose perhaps is over my head,
I feel like I’m really hearing it!”
Poet speaks:
"Why write at all," I hear you say,
"If folks can't understand? Well,
because it makes revision work
a snap for any poetry class
where content can be subordinate
to breaking writer’s block.
Why sweat the big stuff?
Free verse must be free!”
The Muse breaks in:
"Why you could spend your life on one poem
and ignore your experience completely,
just writing stuff in stanza form,
an indent here, enjambment there,
here an indent, there enjambment,
everywhere a piggy, piggy, piggy piggy!
Old MacDonald wrote a poem
E-I-E-I-O”
Poet Speaks:
“I’m confused! Without content
what makes the poem mine?
Is my writing it enough?
Though I’ll confess that scanning
published literature seems unlikely
to reveal any plagiarism.
Can writing without content
ever be copyrighted I wonder?”
The Muse muses, ponders philosophical possibilities:
“Well if you have revised the poem
and the new version is clearly no worse
than the original, who cares
if it is no better?
You really tried after all.
You followed instructions.
What’s in a grade?
And no new title needed.”

I can do anything threw Christ , by his stripes i am healed
His shield protect me , and if they don't yield when they see my shield they don't respect me
I would give someone the shirt off my back
All i want is the truth off your tongue
i was Running my mouth telling lies until thy
tripped over a tree stump in the garden of Eden
Looked away from the fruit and started praying & grieving
Demons in disguised we slaved for these men
Just to escape my fears and insecurities i'm going to build 2 underground railroads
Put my pride on my sail boat
and go who the hell knows
You don't know your strength when your facing a lion
You didn't realize you where David when you seen that your obstacles where giants
JUST DON'T STOP TRYING
Am i crazy for dreaming
Its either keep my day job or be paid to become a demon
I kept my day job day dreaming
Just giving god his glory why Lucifer stay scheming
My equilibrium aint even
God is on my team so I let the messiah take a peek in ,
and he told me keep moving forward like i'm putting pressure on the defense
let the light from justice shine in my face i see a brighter future
I can control my anger now like lighter fluid
You ask me how i do it
I had a pilot by the name of jesus christ and he guides me threw it

If you're wondering when I'll stop loving God, the answer is never.
I will love and worship the Lord forever.
God helps those who help themselves, this is true.
If you are in need, help yourself and God will help you.
We live in a world that is sometimes sinister and cruel.
But if God is a part of your life, life can be wonderful.

Jesus Helps to Overcome Life’s Trials…
Life can bring many difficult trials…
Often, there’s a lot of traveled miles.
No matter the uncertainties we can think of…
We often have more trials than we can speak of!
We can often find our life off course.
Many times, being driven by a dark force.
Jesus knows it’s hard to know what to do.
Especially with what you
might be going through!
HE has many encouraging words to say…
To help you make it through another day!
Jesus is the one that you to turn to!
He loves and is concerned about you!
He‘s wonderful! The almighty God is he!
He’s committed to you! For eternity!
He’s the one that you can trust and lean on!
And is someone that you can
always depend on!
Won’t you give him an opportunity to help you?
He reaches out his hand, because he loves you!
He’s the source with a heavenly treasure!
He can completely fill you,
beyond measure!
The decision is yours! A choice needs to be made!
There’s nothing for Jesus what’s worth any “trade!”
He’s more than any of us can ever think of!
And can do more for you! Than you ever dreamed of!
He’s the alpha and omega! The beginning and the end!
Won’t you allow him to be your
savior and friend???

Every little helps Tesco motto, something for me and you
Every little helps something i can call my own.
Every little helps with the shopping, bills, and debts to pay,
Every little helps absolutely nothing stands alone.
Every little helps, a mystical phrase that has stuck in my mind.
Its not the high mountain, but consitency, and perseverance one
day at a time. Every little helps i will one day reach my goal,
Every little helps victory in many areas, i will find.

God Helps With the Uncertainties Of Life!
The uncertainties of life were
before my mind...
There were many things I was to find.
As I looked into “life’s mirror,”
there was “confusion?”
A “wandering mind”
filled with “pollution”
I thought about what enters in?
As the battle for my life begins.
God’s given me a clear path and direction!
It began with Christ and his resurrection!
I can have my mind renewed
by God’s holy word...
HIS purity in my thoughts,
need to be stirred!
It’s the Godly way of thinking
that’s the best choice.
He speaks hope to me…
In a “still small voice.”
I've allowed him a place
in my heart to reside within.
He’s taken my life and
forgave my every sin!
He’s given me TRUE LOVE
and a peace throughout.
This is my God.
And what he’s all about!
I want to experience all he’s given
and so much more!
He’s willing to help me!
What am I waiting for?
He’s a God of restoration and love divine!
And brings hope and healing to all of mankind!

A Teenager Helps His Mother With the Internet
By Elton Camp
Rory’s mom was new to the Internet
The abbreviations she didn’t get
“ROTFL, WTF, STFU I see everywhere.
Explain them, dear, if you don’t care.”
She expected him to help her out
That she’d approve Rory did doubt
So an explanation he wrote out
To say what they were about
“Really Ought To Fix Lunch
Is why you see that a bunch.”
“Well That’s Fantastic care shows
Thus, you will see lots of those.”
“Sorry, Thanks For Understanding too.
For kind words these letters will do.”
So his mom began to use ‘em on Facebook
Soon, for Rory, she began to angrily look
“Those abbreviation you taught me
Are nothing but a lie, I’ve come to see!”
“I used them with the preacher’s wife.
I’ve never been so embarrassed in my life.”

Once heard a lady sing opera one day
And thought “Boy I wish I could sing that way”
I joined a church choir, and sang my heart out
But my high notes sounded more like a shout!
I saw a gymnast do a summer sault
And saw an athlete perform a great vault
In my own mind thought, “I could do that”
Alas, can’t be done with two left feet, Drat!
So I sat down, thought, “Perhaps I can write”
And I thought and thought well into the night
Just sitting is what I manage quite well
No songs, no muscles, but stories to tell.
Of when I once fell out of a tall tree
Or when the choir master set me free
Or when the doctor set my broken arm
Or when my burnt toast set off an alarm!
Recalling memories from now and then
I’m happy to sit in my chair with a pen
Though physical talents I cannot bring
My stories are what helps this poet sing!

The unconscious speaks against facts,
But the conscious mind reasons out that ICT can guide him.

And it guides him to improve his speech in public speaking.
But such software or application could not remind him
On his unconscious impromptu speech.

People barely notice.
Realize or even care.
After we leave this world.
You have nothing to declare.
Everyone will be judged.
Repent if you must.
Have love for your brother.
Enter the gates if your just.
Leave the world in your wake.
Pack an empty bag when you go.
Stop loving the things of this earth.
!??? Or didn't you know?

When the brain inside debates
When the storm inside abates
When sleepless nights assassinates
When the past creeps in and investigates
When ego surrenders and guilt arrests
When memories walk past but time awaits
When every thought inside procrastinates
When fear dies and tear evaporates
When utopia hides behind society's gates
When fate says you are not mates
When dilemma stays like a mistress
When the heart plays in distress
When her absence still affects
When your dream disconnects
When your own love suspects
When you lose nerve and frown on your defects
When you break down and hurt yourselves
When you succumb but nobody helps.

Today I made the cake,
cradling the bowl.
Arm aching,
pulling at the fruit.
Her recipe in front, spidery and sherry stained.
And she was here.
I could feel her, smell her Christmas fragrance and
as my bicep burned she held the spoon and through it went
and she was gone.
