Best Grouchy Poems
Grouchy is a grubby feeling,
with the nasty taste of blah;
makes you out of sorts with living,
the opposite of hurrah.
You don’t like anything
you used to really love;
instead of giving kisses
you would rather pinch or shove.
You are bored to tears;
your toys - worn out and old;
you sit before your breakfast
until the eggs are cold.
No one can please you,
not even mom or dad;
and if you are not careful,
you’re in your room for being bad!
Some people say, “You got up
on the wrong side of the bed;”
maybe you should get back in,
crawl out the other side instead.
What makes you feel so out of sorts?
You think you just might cry
and mommy says she’s sure you ate
a slice of gritty grumble pie.
We all have days that go kerplunk;
we do some things we shouldn’t do,
but it will soon get better;
pull your feet out of grouch goo.
Just put a smile on that sweet face
and tell the grump to go away;
the sun is up and life is good,
get busy, go outside and play!

1) Find a broom, then go to your room, and give it a good sweep.
2) Lie on the couch, when Mom’s a grouch, and pretend that you’re asleep.
3) Take a ride on your bike, or take a hike, and best leave the grownup alone.
4) Empty the trash (but don’t ask for cash) when Dad his top has blown.
5) Call a friend on whom you depend, then go outside and play tag.
6) Find a four-leave clover, plan your next sleep over, throw a stick that your dog
can shag.
7) Taking a look at a few picture books might pass the time of day.
8) Be cute as a bug, and offer a hug in a roundabout sort of a way.
9) Though grownup’s tics are not all yours to fix, you can always sing a song.
10) And remember that grouchy grownups don't often stay grouchy for long.

he wakes up
in the early morn
he is grouchy
mean as a lout
he barks
at times
I wonder
does he have green ears and a big snout?
Horns sticking out of his devilish head
I bet he steals gifts to hide under his bed
I had him arrested
the police, they had him thoroughly tested
is he just a Grinchy grouch?
or a grouchy Grinch who stole all of Christmas?
He is hairy and green
he stole all the maple syrup it surely seems
the Mounted Police have unfortunately seen
he eats pancakes with brown French baked beans!
Now we all know a crime has been absolutely committed
we can smell the evidence thus evicted
This Grinch or grouch or who knows what
well he smells and yes he also pouts!
He pleads and begs
and begs some more
please a coffee, I am just out of bed!
I am not so bad, once my coffee I have had!
Well, look at that angel face, he can't be all that mad!
All the children came running, up to the jail
laughing and dancing., at this grouch so frail
let him out, let him out , they all chant and sing
This is Dear Santa, not that green Grinchy grouchy old lout
Even the most innocent of infants knows
a morning without a cupa
all would be grouchy, no one at all goes with outa
double double, and a donut to take
Why this is saint nick, his beard clearly shows
Look at the red suit, come on, every kid knows
see over there that wheel chair decked in red
and 12 reindeer all ready to pull that wheelchair sled!

Once I saw an oddly grouchy grouch,
grousing away on an old couch,
gaping menacingly,
as I eat happily,
my juicy chicken soupy lunch.

A grouchy frog
A little tiny frog was always so grouchy,
He wore blue jean pants that was too big and slouchy.
He would always set on his lily pad and frown,
He was the talk of the little town.
Everyone talked about him all the time,
They would say,he was so tight,he would not give you a dime.
Until one day he came across a sweet little lady frog,
He would sit and stare on his favorite log.
He was in love, and didn't know what to do,
So he got up the courage,to say how are you.
His face blushed on his green frog skin,
She said I think your cute with a brightful grin.
They were married that following year,
From then on the little frog was very cheer.
Everyone in town could not believe how the little frog changed,
How love can make you better, even if its a little strange.

My husband is really grouchy and grumpy
Only comes alive when we have rumpy pumpy
Watches football on TV with beer in hand
Offside rule is something I don't understand
My husband's interest in me is on the wain
What can I do so he notices me again ?
Cook him a nice meal might do the trick
Knowing my luck he would end up ill and sick
I wonder what makes him grumpy so
Maybe it's the way the world is I don't know
Until then I pray he snaps out of it really soon
After all we celebrate our anniversary in June

Grumbles and groans about all she sees.
Bellyaching and complaining
Fussing, kicking and squawking
Peevishly petulant
bitter mudgeon
grouchy whiner
a surly
boorish

for some reason
around your fortress
you’ve built
insurmountable blockades
and from their safety
you thrive on lashing out
catapulting showers
of fireballs
and cannonballs
it took a while for me
to realize we were at war
I simply didn’t know
in hindsight it’s been going on for years
but I really truly didn’t know
I knew enough to keep my distance
and stay out of the firing range
you’ve always had me
walking on eggshells
why? I haven’t got a clue
after all these years
to tell the truth
somewhere along the way
I simply finally lost interest
so keep doing what you’ve got to do
and I’ll continue
liking you the way you are
the last of eggshell crumbs
have turned to lovely sand
and your fireballs
now look to me
like nothing less
than fireworks display

Grouchy blue corpulent cat knew where it was at
She loved her girth, enjoyed her muscles and fat.
Dancing to a square dance, she squashed many a gnat
Enjoying his days, singing rat-a-tat-tat.

You know me I am never grouchy she said.
Is her neck on straight? Is she right in her head.
I cannot stand people who stomp and grump.
Just a second. Here comes that creep with the dowager’s hump.
I cannot stand her; she is evil, the anti-christ she relays.
I hate to complain, but she simply ain’t very nice many days.
I stay on the phone line, for I am desperate for a friend.
Her grouchiness and complaining never does end.
She doesn’t like her neighbor, he is a mean guy.
She cannot abide her mother-in-law, so why even try?
Whining commences, and I am trying to hang up.
She never notices, that I have eaten my hat and my cup.
She causes me anguish, I feel stressed and annoyed.
She is yelling about a guy she dated once named big Lloyd.
I hate pessimists she tells me, I have to stay away from this guy.
The next week when I start to dial her, my psyche asks “why?”
