Premium Member I Got a Letter From the Devil

(Hello, my sweet friend!)

Speaks in unknown tongues
Nevertheless it will consume
Ask for food,
A sweet drink
The hunger and thirst are real
It's pitchfork aims at my free will
Seeking and freaking through my pages
It's been ages since the impression was gone
Sloppy wording crawl under my hide
Notification triggers my finger and thumb
Bang! The evil one exists
With a second-hand letter
It believes, it should never be forgotten

Numb as Novocaine can be
I watch and interpret the riddles in every line
Living and breathing art,
I'm echoing the same nightmare
How dare, the devil seeks to be fed!
Screaming and remembering
--the demons that linger in its head
Too much to read,
I have major troubles with your disease
Lunacy of the universe
Open Obituary, you are a curse
Like a transparent note from a fatal fax machine
It's a calling, unbearable to describe
Take from me, after I am deceased
Like fire, it burns, cancer in every star

Lies to
Greets to

My eye twitch
My soul hurts

I'm not feeling well
Take care,
Leave me the HEll alone

I Got a Love

I got a love that's never gonna die
Your love has breathed new life into me,
has filled my heart that was once empty
I got a love that's alive and spry
A fragrant violet voice has revived the old bones,
turning back the clock is a good thing
Gave me a pep in my step, a soul zing
Your love rekindled the flame that was long gone

How could you know that you would affect me so,
make me to rise up from my slumbering deep
Go walking to the garden of orchid waking dreams
A shower of kindness make the seeds of your love grow,
blossoms of smiles move my undressed heart to weep
My love for you will never die, for it has been redeemed

You'Ve Got Mail'

I got a letter the other day;
The Postman delivered it in the usual way.
No return address I could see;
Who could possibly be writing to me?

I took the letter into my desk;
Made some room amidst the mess;
Used the opener to get inside;
Suddenly my eyes opened wide.

The letter was from my Father above,
He wanted to tell me of His love,
He told me I was special in his eyes,
And He sought me out like a worthwhile prize.

He's been watching over me, night and day.
And His spirit has guided my way.
All things are working together for my good,
I know He will do that which He promised me He would.

"Will you walk with Me, dear child?"
Comes His challenge , soft and mild.
"Yes, my God- give me your word,
I receive You as my Saviour and Lord."

I got God's letter through the mail,
And I know He can never fail'
My heart already knows revival.
Thank you- whoever sent me my first Bible'

Premium Member I Got Your Message

65 minutes reduced to 120 seconds

Bright lit room
White glossy tone with flowery curtains
Upon window's darkened vision

Your radiance emanated in celebratory gesture
As my eyes fell in love
All over again

But your smiles were too bright to see me cry
Dry heaving sadness gasp

As I looked down...I became the great
Pretender

The smile pretender

You wore a dark blue blouse, w/body-fitting jeans
Tall, plus-size model stature
My walking fantasy

Dark brown locks of joy slow danced upon flesh that

I

No longer embraced

You had something to tell me
"I'm getting married to a man who called me, sexy.
We work together in the same building, so everybody knows."

Spanish music behind the scenes
Your witty humor against song
Crackin' my smile within sadness pores

Showing me blank invitations
As I leaned in, inhaling this broken emptiness
Writing out words with her voice
My gentle grin, the eraser

Tears in Cold War mode

Heart enunciating disconnection bliss

"This wasn't how I wanted to see you again"

As satin comforter tries to soften my falling
Falling...into true love's innocence

The same comforter that covered those tracks
Asphalt scarred remnants from the bus you threw me under

"I always wanted you to wake me from my sleep
But not like this"

You became my dream, come true
Becoming dream again
In 120 seconds

...

He may have called you "sexy" with words
But I called you "beautiful" with heart

Yet you will never value how deep it was

Well, at least you can rest assured
That I got your message

How the Big Mac Got the Gherkin

Once upon an ancient time,
in long gone languid days,
when distant misted myths bechanced
in lovely rhym'ed ways,
when time was so much freer,
less allotted to the minute,
‘twas then the mighty Big Mac got the gherkin in it.

The night was one made fit for gods,
and stars made white the sky,
and drunk, dylsexic old McDonald
sang Oh Eee, Oh Eee, I.
His greatest yet creation
sat on his barbie plate,
it was the mighty Big Mac with no inkling of its fate.

McDonald thought the pattie lacked
a certain...
Il ne savait pas.
He decided what he'd give it was this green thing from a jar.
But Big Mac cried out, ‘Hang about!
I like the way I am!
And I think that what I need the least is a prostate gland exam.'

McDonald growled, ‘Don't be a sook!
It's not gonna hurt a bit.
Just close your eyes and grit your teeth and keep loose where you sit.'
Big Mac firmly grasped his bun
and held it really tight,
he had Phallicvegiephobia and would resist with all his might.

But McDonald was too smart by far,
Big Mac was not his match,
the old bloke snuck up from behind to by surprise him catch.
Beneath an unsuspecting arm
he gave a little tickle,
the burger gave a little laugh and got a little pickle...

So the Big Mac we all know today
was born of subterfuge.
And although the gherkin in it aint really all that huge,
remember that it's only there
by the skullest of skullduggery,
and that bit we discard's the fruit
of midnight burger buggery.

Premium Member The One That Got Away - Silence of What Ifs

If a poet falls in love with you
you will live forever.
Atticus Finch - To kill a mockingbird.

In the midst of conundrums, of 'what ifs.'

I dislike the ocean,
its bitter saltiness, brings no joy.
Perched safely, upon the highest cliff,
watching waves surge upon the shore.
They are a constant reminder of
how you waved goodbye.

Each ripple carried you away - forever.

Lost in reflection,
sentimental memories remain eternal.

Recalling how the sun caressed your face,
mirroring your spirited smile -
like a lantern in my darkness.

Still unforgettable -
the joy in those soulful eyes -
each time you glanced at me.

Nonchalantly, I would follow you.
As we walked without a care -
you never seeming to tire.

In our youthful playground,
rusty see-saws and swings
still remember our laughter and tears -
that first sophomoric kiss

and I can still taste you.

When night would arrive,
there was no fear, hand in hand.
You were like a mystical pixie,
glowing in the enchantment of moonlight -
it would illuminate through your eyes.

We could have danced all night,
our souls ascending to the heavens.
But, I was afraid of new horizons,
because, I knew you would depart -
just like a shooting star.

Without thinking,
I broke your heart -
before you could heal mine.

I remain in the silence of 'what ifs.'
But, I smile, content -
knowing that once there was a time,
your heart and mine,
merged like day and night.

Premium Member I'Ve Got Blue ****

a pair of blue ****
inspecting new nesting box
spring is in the air

I know haiku don't have titles... but I couldn't resist!

My nesting box was made by students at the school I worked at - it has been in situ since 2016 but this is the first year birds are making it their home. I watched the pair inspecting the box on Sunday, the male spent ages pecking round the entrance to make it smooth ... today they are nest building in it

I Got Scars, Invisible Chains That Tightly Bind

I got scars, invisible but O' so, so deep
Never say never, heart slashed enough to weep
There the darkness came ravaging a broken mind
I got scars, invisible chains that tightly bind
And an epic loss that can any man destroy
When a younger lad, just a poor O' Southern boy!

I got scars, invisible but O' so, so deep
Doorways bringing bad nightmares into my sleep
Those battles, those moaning cries can be heard each night
Tragedy, a shame, such a sad pitiful fight
There the darkness comes cutting up both heart and soul
And lord don’t ya know, it is such a wicked toll!

I got scars, invisible but O' so, so deep.
Never say never, heart slashed enough to weep!

Robert J. Lindley,
Sonnet ( Sad, dark and once so true )

Note:

Got Me Thinking You Love Me

it like you care
i mean if you keep on
keeping on
i might whined-up thinking you
love me or something
I mean kissing and dance
getting those second glances
and the notes on my phone
I might whined-up thinking
you love me.
sometimes I think about
the way you might preseve me
and than I wonder if
I should look at you the same way
smelling your hair
acting like you care
it makes me wonder
asking myself what spell am I under
You got me thinking you
love me

Premium Member I'Ve Got a Bee In My Bonnet Sonnet

I never enter every contest on soup
Sometimes sponsors can be very hard to please
Achieving first place is not always a breeze
Some don’t like me writing poems about poop
Yet every person is unique in our group
Some wonderful poets with great expertise
Writing different forms with consummate ease
To be skilled like them then I’d be cock a hoop

Yet people moan when they don’t get a high place
Think their poetry is much better than 'mine'
Tell the sponsors their judgment is a disgrace
It saddens me their feelings are so malign
Criticise until they are blue in the face
For each of us thinks our poems are divine

My Angel Got Her Wings

my angel got her wings
one day
and just like that
she flew away
way up in the sky
toward God
seeing the invisible
and praising the Lord
some may ask me
how i feel
because i lost something
really real
my mind will wonder where to go
without her it just doesn't know
my eye's will miss her
they already do
and my ears that listened
they miss her too
and the chair next to me
will be empty for a while
and my words"I Love You"
won't make a sound
pictures will remind me
of your smile
i did get to love you
for a little while
but deep in my heart
that's where you'll stay
forever you'll be
forever and a day
