The wind herds
the brown-paper bag leaves
pell-mell along the river of asphalt.
Gusts whip bare branches into a frenzy.
Mini cyclones scatter street rubble.
Flags whack poles with great abandon
and cloth lines bang rudderless into the clapboard.
Men with tear filled eyes rush toward shelter.
The sun still, and silent, lassoed by the herder
shines lemon ice upon the day.

Premium Member The Giddy Sound of Yellow

The slow happy sigh of a smile,
The lazy eyes as they squint;
The brightness of belly laughter,
A scream as you land in the pool;

It warms you up and makes you squeal;
It's the sound of a road trip
with the windows down and the music up;

Smacking your lips a bottle of
ice cold lemonade;
It's the sound of the ocean as
you lie in a hammock,
The giddy sound of Yellow.

Wonderful love dreams thrilled young Cali.
She sung of such with good friend, Sally.
Extraordinary and precocious,
her thoughts felt expialidocious.

Expialidocious were heart thumps.
Precocious fantasies raised goosebumps.
Sally thought her love, fragalistic.
Cali said, "joy's not fatalistic."

For Cali, hushed love was great enough.

Premium Member Makes Us Feel Giddy

The warm spring weather has finally arrived
Making us feel giddy and glad we're alive
Best time of the year
Gorgeous colours appear
Another winter's over, think I'll start to imbibe

Oh My Giddy Aunt

I remember when my Aunt
wanted a divorce,
said, "at last my time is mine
I shall live on the Golf Course".

My Uncle never played
he gave the game a snub,
thought it pretty pointless
to hit a ball with club.

He only wanted offspring,
to fertilise her eggs,
but she was bloody adament
he would never part her legs!

She never wanted family,
He wanted Son and heir.
So they found that life
became too much to bear.

So it was they split,
my Uncle he played Bowls,
Auntie she liked golf
she loved those eighteen holes.

One day while she was playing.
A great Storm began to brew.
Thunderclaps were shouting
with Lightning Bolts that flew!

She had just teed off,
then was walking past a dyke
when Thunder blew a fuse
then lightning it did strike...

( When my Uncle heard
my Auntie had been zapped,
the only thing he said was...)

"Well aint that very apt!!! "

Oh my giddy Aunt!!!
It was the ultimate birth control!
Guess where she was hit?

Between the first and second hole!

Giddy is a fun place to be
Kinda like octupusses under the sea
According to the Beatles.

Giddy is happy, HAPPY me
Without having to try how to be
What grouchy people would rather see.

I love me some giddy
As much as my kitty
The world is more pretty..

When I'm giddy.

Giddy Up

When I was only four years old
I'd ride my mama's broom
I'd chase those villains everywhere
Well, until she swept the room

She kept it in the kitchen corner
I called it his corral
Whenever trouble came to town
I'd reach for my best pal

Now every cowboy needs a horse
And mine was the best of all
Cause when he finished fighting crime
He cleaned up his own stall

Now Roy Rogers had his Trigger
And Tonto had his Scout
And though my horse never had a name
He was loyal without a doubt

I rode that stick horse everywhere
Until the vacuum took his place
A friend like that was hard to find
And impossible to replace

Hey Now Giddy Up Jeans

She was a college educated buttoned up girl
She worked as a teller in the bank
She didn't look like she had any fun
Most people didn't even know she drank.

But she had legs that went on forever
Best introduction to a butt you've ever seen
And at night she drove all the boys crazy
In her hey now, giddy up jeans

She had a long term relationship with Cuervo
She only drank the Gold as a rule
It brought back memories of the good times
She had when she was down south in school.

But she had legs that went on forever
Best introduction to a butt you've ever seen
And at night she drove all the boys crazy
In her hey now, giddy up jeans

When she stiletto heeled her way to the bar
She was known to raise men's eyebrows
Most men were afraid to approach her
But they were thinking what have we here, hey now.

But she had legs that went on forever
Best introduction to a butt you've ever seen
And at night she drove all the boys crazy
In her hey now, giddy up jeans.

You cannot judge a book by its cover
Or make assumptions without all the facts.
There's a time and a place to be sexy
And a time to act with grace and tact.

But she had legs that went on forever
Best introduction to a butt you've ever seen
And at night she drove all the boys crazy
In her hey now giddy up jeans.

Okay I'll admit it, my mind's a bit strange
Methinks I've been out far too long on the range
So giddy up old fellow
 My trusty old caballero
Before they force me to hand over the reigns

It’s a dreary rainy day for everyone but she
Her heart overflows with joyful sunshine
An effervescence she cannot contain
She glows with giddy infatuation

The way she saunters on rainbow clouds
Thirsting hungering craving
All while bursting at the seams
Impossible to hide her exhilaration

Caught in a whirlwind of disarray
Undeniable the power he has over her
Her justifiably warranted adulation
An intensity that refuses to subside
Its sorcery exquisite and sublime

Premium Member Almost Giddy

This is me being happy today
at the end of the work-week from hell.
I must say as preamble, hey,
I get rules and will follow, I wanna place well.

I'm happy no one that I know died today.
I'm happy I still know how to crochet.
I'm happy my uncle's heart surgery went fine.
I'm happy to relinquish stuff that's not mine.

I'm happy my central heat's working as oughta.
I'm happy I heard this week from my chill daughter
I'm happy my son with his head in the clouds
is making decisions that make himself proud.

I'm happy it's weekend.
I know how to freak into
joyously seekin'
what's best for us all
makes me happy.

Premium Member Frilly Giddy Spring Zippy

Spring so pretty, come fever my ditty
with daytime wispy and nighttime witty -
not hot sticky, not cold chilly,
but warm sun frilly and cool moon giddy
that I may best invest in Spring's whimsy.

If not too tricky, dream me scent zippy.
Show your prissy, you change hippy,
let your season's dizzy shake self-pity,
blur ego’s icky, stop my dreads so shifty
that rift me with heart feels of guilty.

Take me swiftly with your quickie, spell-coy hickey
so my joy now misty will soon bloom me Spring nifty.
