Gather

It is quiet now
the sun moves up the ridge
honey crisp scent of freedom
hovers, engulfing all the air

pangs of pleasure peal
primrose bows her head
yellow paints the morning
the fields are all aglow

dew dresses up the hackles
glisten comes to call
enlighten paints the picture
leaves begin to fall

recall enters to the garden
tiny footfalls traced in awe
nothing goes unnoticed
gaze, then gather in it all

Black Birds Gather

Black birds gather....early in the morning....scooping up sunshine and singing to announce a new day....

Wings flapping in rapid succession....like waves of splendor....enthusiasm galore!

Black birds gather...my heart flutters a new beat...a tempo like none other...like the shininess of soft piano keys...your passion to sing enlightens me

Oh how I wish I could sing at the first shards of sunlight....how I wish I could fly around from tree top to tree top ushering in the new opportunity

I will do my best to do the same thing right down here with my mug of hot coffee!

How I love the NEW DAY!

Premium Member Gather All Ye Children of Gaia Hide From the Mortal Ones

Minerva’s child addressed Lycaons son;
“we owl and wolf are truly one”,
for air and earth guardians we be.
I come my brother from the trees,
to meet with you upon this hour,
for Gaia says she will empower
us for guarding wood and bower;
we are her chosen ones.

We’ll spread the word across water and land;
there’ll be a day of reckoning for man.
All flora and fauna must be prepared,
to defend themselves against man’s snares;
from the skies to earth, beneath,
of devastation we must bespeak,
and warn all life, watch other’s backs;
for spiritual consciousness, so many lack;
the time for action is now at hand.

Awaken all ye sleeping bands,
of field and forest, river and brook;
there’s no one to be overlooked.
Warn in time for them to hide,
including those within the tides.
Extinction bears a mournful cross;
every lost life is Gaia’s loss
and for her we now make a stand.

The trees agree to hide us all,
within the woods and forests shades;
and amid the caverns and caves.
Warn those who dwell to hide away.
from human vessels hold their sway;
to the deepest caverns beneath the sea,
swim there now...flee...flee!
Without us great Gaia ‘neath man’s hand will fall.

Gather the Dark Threads of Pain In Your Life

Simmering threads of Grace reflect through your life
Lingering thoughts protrude beyond the norm
The pain makes you overthink at times
This makes you believe you cannot gain in solitude
The lies reflect the cries of your misplaced purpose
So gather the dark threads of the pain in your life
And know that it is there to stretch your purpose!
There are other things in life that you need to do!

Premium Member Where Red Waters Gather

I live in a state shaped by glaciers long ago
In the middle of the heat, we want it to snow
The breadwinner of many homes is what we grow
Here comes another winter, around forty below
Watch out for black ice roads wherever you go
Summer is six months away, yep, don't ya know
Melting snow makes for one big old muddy hole
Changing seasons so often, a backcountry expo
Minnesota fearing Green Bay Packers on a roll
Wilderness found up north, catch it on a pole
Mississippi flowing to its west into the soul
Universities preparing us, system educational
Wisconsinites moving forward on our loam soil
Architectonics with Frank, ingenuity and toil
Hydroelectrical powered first on the Fox flow
Conservationists residing, protecting fallows
Sesquicentennials of livestock, corn in silos
Characteristically unique, breadbasket tempos

As the Vultures Gather To Suck Beautiful Venezuela Dry

now that Chavez is dead,
the american oil companies
chomping at the bit
begin to salivate & lick their lips,
seething
with the foam
of potent country-gutting
rabies---
for while he was alive,
Venezuela was one of the only
countries left,
who resisted the empire’s attempts to
penetrate it & whore it out to the
highest capitalist bidder---
with Chavez dead,
not only will the oil soon be drained from
within the borders of beautiful
Venezuela,
but so will die the social programs that Chavez
instilled,
those that had been used to combat the
extreme poverty which exists in the country,
those that the governments before Chavez did nothing to
prevent.

so goes Chavez,
so goes a bastion of anti-empire,
so goes a man who pushed Chomsky’s work at the
United Nations,
so goes a man who championed the bloc that
would resist the swallowing up of
Latin America by the
empire.

yes,
the vultures are hungry,
they are perched & ready---
rather than create green alternatives to the
reliance on oil,
they will suck every last drop &
make the world do their bidding,
creating a negative media firestorm
to shed hate upon a man who can no longer
defend himself,
just as they will the next who steps up to resist.

Gather At the River - Glimpses of Epiphany Contest

We shall gather at the river
Immortal words of a hymn
That believers of spiritualism
When they meet  will sing

People that go beyond the grave
Returning with messages apart
For the folks they  left behind
Patching up a broken heart

Some people think that this  is wrong
Their  religion tells them so
Would they not listen to words
their beloved's wanted them to know

When at deaths door i knocked
Why was I sent back home

My epiphany  was my journey
As along death's trail i walked
My time wasn't the right time
So the gates  were firmly locked

Premium Member A Time To Gather

With grateful hearts we gather near
To celebrate this day, so dear
Sharing with loved ones, side by side
A grand, abundant feast appears.

To celebrate this day, so dear
We reap a bountiful harvest, here
Sitting together around the table
Soft glow of candle light appears.

Sharing with loved ones, side by side
This blessed moment in our lives
Then holding hands, we bow in prayer
To thank God for all that He provides.

A grand, abundant feast appears
With thankful hearts we shed a tear
The table is spread with tender care
Our bond of love is true and clear.

Premium Member Get-To-Gather

(Dedication: For Ann, Kerri, Ramona and LeeNa.)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear friends from days gone by,
Gather to share a meal;
We talk and soon time flies,
Exchange wit and goodwill.
How the years have brought change,
To each a path to walk;
Yet years hurled good and strange,
Now we can fill our talk.
In between our food fare,
Share some journey insights;
Cite trials and pains and cares,
Succeed to share delight.
It seems like yesterday
When we were young and fair;
But look at us today:
Sparks of life's grand affairs.
Each to a pathway poise,
To love and live and play;
Each to a fate and choice
That make sense of each day.
Our meeting springs new joy
In touching old friends here;
We lift the veils of ploy
To celebrate good cheer.
So till the next meeting,
May love and laughter bind;
Let each heart find meaning
In love and hope most kind.
This get-to-gather feast
Is a scene from old times;
Fate and time can at least
Surround with lovely chimes.
As we go away then,
Let joy and peace align;
Dear friends just where and when
To live fond quest and mind.
Let each heart feel delight
In shared moments here;
Let love give heart true sight
To live the way of cheer.
