Best Fragile Poems
Betrayal devastates your trusting heart,
severing the bonds of love from the start.
And depression slowly entraps your soul;
for disparaging lies exact their toll.
Chameleon clouds change to match your mood
by releasing tears, sad emotions brewed.
And at the crossroads of sane and insane,
your heart breaks under the weight of your pain.
A fickle Sun no longer shares its light,
sulking within shadows gathered by Night.
And feigning feelings, you struggle to cope,
for a broken heart cannot harbor Hope.
The specter of fear festering in dreams;
fuels frightening bouts of silent screams.
And at the end of the tunnel, no light,
the future is opaque, obscured by fright.
The promise of tomorrow made to youth
was written on yesterday's fragile truth.
And happiness is a wine without weight;
simply a bouquet decanted by fate.
Always inside living thoughts
Once held a vision adoring thee
Beholding beams though these eyes
Star spangled one look totally breathless
This heart's calling your name precious
Together uniting strengths join within power
Making hopes and dreams come alive
Saying onto myself breathtakingly gorgeous
Adding this truly wonderful music
Into the soul princess cut deeply singing tunes develop
In every echo out of this world
I wish to retake the perfect soft breath held
Melting golden feelings burning gasps warmly sigh
Why do I love you so
Wearing the glass slippers
Fragile as a newborn butterfly taking flight
In all the flowers freshly plucked
Standing out most beautiful
A diamond rose stunning dewdrops sparkle
Touching, kissing, loving you forever more
Holding someone special always showing them
how deeply appreciated they are
Fireworks display our passion to share
in a world filled promise
Conveying the love inside each tiny seed
picking you one precious gem
Your words are sparkling wine
your presence divine
Your beauty makes me comfortable dizzy
Intoxicating drunken in anything you wish
becomes the soul command
In the distance ~ the dying sun forever sleeps with you one dream obeys

Please speak to me my lovely friend
With leaves stirred softly by the wind
Under enchanted autumn sky
Where your susurrate sounds drift by.
Sing soft melodies in choir
As leaves glow as if on fire.
I feel your abject dying pain
When wet and cold from chilling rain.
I remember spring at your birth,
How you brightened verdant earth.
And then in summer your soft shade
Where under your cool leaves I laid.
You always spoke or sang to me
While holding close your mother tree.
But now in autumn's silver sky
Soft spoken leaves whisper goodbye.

While finding myself in season’s twilight
I see parts of life crumble amid grime of ruins,
As a declining mind wanders to balance
Gratified triumphs and numerous offenses.
That from an era’s DNA, I search my own history
Sorting out the will of earthly fate, to pinpoint
The wake of milestones... the numbness of lies.
How can I redeem the what ifs?
Accepting my fragility held by a few strands
Of cycles’ thinning yarns, my essence
Spins up down through countless revelries:
Then to gaze at the most lustrous star
Where a thousand vestiges imprint faces,
Even melodies which bear laughable chatters.
How fondly old can I really get!…
And yet, yet, as nightfall grabs
One more petal falling… there is something
glorious about ripened age--- after all.

The Smile At The Foot Of The Ladder

Love is such a fragile thing,
Softer than a butterflies wing.
The gentle entwining of mind and soul,
A linking of passions that makes one whole.
It can rise and fall just as the tide,
And link two people across oceans wide
It brings forth such joy and pure delight
Creates a bond that holds them tight
Love is such a fragile thing,
As beautiful as Angels sing.
It will lift you so high above the earth,
And give your heart a soothing berth.
It fills your senses your thoughts as well,
Your entire being resonates like a bell.
Promises exchanged sweet words spoken,
To last an eternity and never be broken.
Love is such a fragile thing,
Passion it enflames desire it does bring.
Lost to the world in ardour and delight,
All else fades from the lovers sight.
Ensconced in a world of poetic diction,
Wrapped up in each other as if in a fiction.
Still even love sometimes can go awry,
But in the end true love can never die.
How fragile is the heart that loves;
that stands out naked, unafraid,
and takes a chance to share it all
with deep emotions spent, displayed.
How fragile is the heart that gives
above, beyond what is required;
but sometimes, that is not enough
for what's expected and desired.
How fragile is the heart that hurts
when others take for granted deeds,
and barely notice, since those fill
their simple, ordinary, needs.
How fragile is the heart that cries
when empty with no love returned.
How can this be...a heart that gives
still feels that love is so unearned.
the trees outside
my window
stand like fragile bones
reaching
moaning&
groaning
all their leaves
blown away
they stand naked
of beauty
withered&
brittle
their broken branches
cannot be hidden
as snowflakes drift
covering the ground
I hear them
whispering&
whispering
we are not dead
&soon
we will be
wearing beautiful
snow white cloaks
we are but
sleeping
Always inside living thoughts
Once held a vision adoring thee
Beholding beams though these eyes
Star spangled one look totally breathless
This heart's calling your name precious
Together uniting strengths join within power

Love is a flower garden,
An ocean of emotions;
Photographs of memories,
Love is a journey.
There are many kinds of love,
A lover's embrace and kiss;
Love of family and friends,
The love of a pet.
Love of nature and the world,
Mankind and all creatures;
For me, the love of poetry,
And, I love you God.
Oh, love turns the world around,
Love is stronger than a war;
Hate, jealousy have no chance,
Love, a fragile bud . . .

FRAGILE
I watched my mother
Beautiful, petite, smart
Widowed at 28 with three small children
And people said, "Be extra good, your mother is fragile."
A blonde Jackie Kennedy,
Right down to the pill-box hat
The early 60s when women were pretty, songless birds
Protected in their husbands' split-level cages.
Remarry was the only way, "they" said
As she ran for public office, favored to win.
But he wouldn't have a wife that worked
Unless ironing his shorts three times to get it "right."
Glass is fragile. I found that out
As I heard him smashing it when he beat her at night.
Bones are fragile. I found that out
When mommy had broken fingers and toes after loud nights.
My mother was many things.
A victim. A woman. But fragile?
Mommy bird sang a song of invincibility
As she escaped her cage with five children in tow.
I have two girls of my own. Smart.
Beautiful. Compassionate. I am proud.
They know that fragile means breakable
And that women in our family are more steel than glass.
Fragile is for collectibles we buy and sell.
My mother taught me we cannot be owned.
Fragile is for birds without a voice.
But my mother sang, even if in a different key.
My mother was the strongest woman I ever knew.
I hope she looks down on her female descendants
And sees that one Jackie-like woman in a pill box hat
Inspired generations of decidedly non-fragile women.

Flickering like candles in the slightest breeze,
Raw with emotion, they are seen so easily worn on sleeves.
Asunder they may break, so
Gentle you must be! Gossamer
Is the flimsy sweater of protection that they wear.
Laugh or look too hard at them, and you are liable to
Embarrass or perhaps even to embitter them.
Heed my advice:
Exercise restraint. Their souls
Already are exposed and must be assuaged.
Refrain from ridiculing them, for
They already suffer from self-consciousness.
Sweeten your words instead. Strengthen and support fragile hearts.

fragile rice papers
cling to a thrashed wicker wall
and silent gazes
kanji-stained blots become buds
some bloom into ureshii

1. "Ureshii" means happiness (Japanese).
2. Formerly titled Minamisanriku's List.
Feeling lost in twilight schemes through glowing lights of starlit dreams,
raw, my thoughts, like frozen streams, soon melt as mist in iced moonbeams,
and you, your eyes, so grey and grim, yet lips that curl with smiling gleams,
gasping heart cries out and screams through growing cracks and broken seams.
In you I've found my everything, my life, my soul you make them sing,
lost in all the love you bring with gentle breath on soft hushed wing.
Enthralled in dulcet voice I limn with painted words of love I cling.
Held close to breast your voice will ring surcease of pain from burst heart string.
Envisioned aura in my head encircles all my thoughts with dread
as with your words my soul is fed and withers slow from things you've said.
Reduced as if by simple whim, your gentle deeds I've left unread.
Touch me not in days ahead, with your caress I'll be mislead,
so, leave me now with eyes blood red, alone and cold and left for dead.

fragile
the tiny egg
laid on a milkweed leaf
devoured by a hungry lizard
deprived of becoming
a butterfly
Life ends
fragile
the butterfly
sipping from a pink rose
becomes the feast for a sparrow
Monarch devoured in flight
That's the law of
Nature
fragile
the rose petals
cut for a crystal vase
withered and brittle, they tumble
sweet fragrance lingers on
their heads drooping
in death
fragile
the crystal vase
lies shattered on the tiles
thrown by the heart that was betrayed
prismed shards in sunlight
will hold bouquets
no more
fragile
the heart betrayed
broken from a lost love
aching for what was beautiful
but has fallen apart
emotional
turmoil
fragile
the thing called love
oft' claims us by surprise
lifting us to great zenith height
then drops us in free fall
A risk we take
for love

Each one a universe unmapped
beneath a frail façade of skin,
a globe, where the value hides,
not on the surface, but within.
Sometimes glimpses are discerned
on the face or in the eyes,
glimmers of what is transpiring
beneath the thin disguise:
a marvel of complexity,
surprise and mystery,
a mapping of the future,
an encyclopedic history,
lands to explore and conquer,
genetic fortunes to unwind,
a human vista unique and rare
by God's own hand designed.
To traverse emotion's vast terrain
great is the heart's capacity,
but handle with care the souls you meet;
each has its own fragility.
