like fragile bones - Musings

the trees outside
my window
stand like fragile bones
       reaching
moaning&
           groaning
all their leaves
blown away

they stand naked
of beauty
      withered&
  brittle
their broken branches 
cannot be hidden
      as snowflakes drift
covering the ground

      I hear them 
whispering&
           whispering
we are not dead
&soon
we will be 
       wearing beautiful
snow white cloaks
we are but 
          sleeping
