Best Forever Poems
We all arrive alone naked and vulnerable,
crying our eyes out, not knowing -
this is the first day of the rest of our life.
I guess the saddest thing in life is we have to grow up.
As children we live in a bubble,
gazing at lost stars - wondering which one is ours.
Not realising the impact of our childhood,
until we are adults and it is too late.
We jump in puddles, laughing at splashing sounds,
some even learn to place their coats over them.
Some swim within shark infested waters,
but only a few learn how to build bridges over them.
I have embraced the power of silence,
but some have succumb to it.
I guess it is all about the quality of it,
especially for those who struggle to listen.
There has been many a rose that has bloomed,
but every single one crumbled into dust.
Even the one whose thorns pierced lacerations
through hearts of stone - yet the heart healed.
Many birds arrived echoing sweet symphonies,
yet there have been those that flew away in silence.
Especially the silent nightingale who sat in solitude,
whose lyrics my heart still yearns to feel.
I've seen many a ship arrive at my shore,
but each one unloaded and sailed away.
It was me who removed their anchor
and smiled as they sailed into the distance.
As tumours poison our existence - I ponder;
will the human race survive earth's demise?
When death arrives we all leave alone empty handed,
not knowing that was the last day of our life.
I recall Freddie Mercury's famous lyrics...
Who wants to live forever.... Anyway.

Simple Musings

How long will I love you, often you ask
Forever and a day, my love will last
Till there’s no blossom or leaves upon trees
Or pretty daffodils dancing o’er breeze.
Till clouds cease to form patterns in the sky
All seas and rivers begin running dry
Till all poets have no poetic prose
Or night has no beginning, day no close.
Till no man or creature walks upon earth
Gold or silver has no value or worth
Till there are no birds flying on the wing
Or voices aren’t heard and no one can sing.
Till the day we take our Heavenly place
Living for eternity in God’s grace
With time to dance among stars up above
Darling I send this in glimmers of love.
Kiss me passionately
Kiss with untetherd lips
Lips that are ripe
Lips that long to know everything
Everything waits for it's time
Everything has possibilities
Possibilities beyond limitations
Possibilities are laying in wait
Wait for me to come to you
Wait for my inexperienced touch
Touch me till you feel my longing
Touch the depth of your own wanting
Wanting and needing
Wanting that hurts
Hurts with a burning pleasure
Hurts with an ancient desire
Desire beyond our understanding
Desire that will not be contained
Contained you have been forced to be
Contained within your fathers image of innocence
Innocence must lead to mutual pleasure
Innocence is the doorway to your awakening
Awakening your true essence
Awakening the power of your being
Being more
Being a true force of your own nature
Nature and nurture
Nature will give way to trancendence
Trancendence to womanhood
Trancendence to your power
Power resides within your spirit
Power caresses your being
Being free to explore
Being aware of the moments
Moments that you will cherish
Moments shared with me
Me who wishes to know you
Me who has waited
Waited for you to be ready
Waited for our wedding day
Day after day imagining
Day and night you are part of my dreams
Dreams do come true
Dreams offer hope
Hope permeates our being
Hope that we will have forever
Forever can be felt in a moment
Forever pulses within your veins
Veins that carry the blood of our children
Moment by moment witness our becoming

When Again We Meet
Softly he says, "Should I die do not wait for me." She smiles,
"Just as the moon exhales no light without first a breath from the sun,
without you I'd be in darkness; what is paradise without light?"

Acknowledgement:
A big thank you Sam Scott from our Poetry Soup Community,
for your splendid narrative contribution.
Synopsis:
A story of unrequited love that began in childhood.
Despite the passage of time, his love remained hauntingly
painful even after she fell in love with another.
Aloft on wings of rhapsody, together spirits soar
Wild, untamed and sensuous, just like a lion's roar.
HOW LONG AGO IT SEEMS THE TWO OF YOU FIRST MET
AS TIME IS RENDERED MEANINGLESS
OR TIMELESS, BETTER YET
Though in that Timeless moment, along came winds of change
Love swiftly rearranged, but what it WAS, remained
Oh, Adeline, so fair and bright,
Eyes, like stars, shine with delight,
Oh fickle heart, now you await
your new love's sweet embrace
Blinded by the callous cad, you foolishly don't resist
In the quench of love's allure, Time does not exist
His loving lips will not reveal your new love's promiscuous charms
Intoxicated, unrepentantly, he sways to others' wanton arms.
Across the bronze Sienna shores and blissful sea breeze skies,
He ever trails your hungry heart through
his own saddened eyes.
Oh, Adeline in Twilight's Hush,
where shadows dance and play,
A tale of love and longing
When Night succumbs to Day
Oh, Adeline, will it be
mere friendship, he would fain?
To be just a deliverer of love notes,
a job he will disdain
Oh, Adeline ~ Sweet Adeline
At every glance - a secret shared,
his every word - love unsaid,
In every touch - a fire dared
HOW LONG AGO IT SEEMS ~ THE TWO OF YOU FIRST MET
AS TIME IS RENDERED MEANINGLESS
OR TIMELESS, BETTER YET
Chansons ne sont que chansons
Quand on écrit de l'amour
Comment d'écrire des chansons
De la femme qui est l'amour?
English translation from above:
Songs are just songs
When we write about love
How do you write songs
Of the woman who is Love?

Here I sit amongst the long grasses and the reed,
in a solitary place, where my breath is freed,
on an Indian Summer's evening on the lake bed,
autumn has come, yet the warmth has not fled.
Blazing orange skies, are mirrored to reflect,
I cannot imagine a scene being any more perfect,
as I looked up, an unfallen leaf caught my gaze,
spotlighted in the sun's last golden rays.
I noticed this crimson leaf as it began to wave,
the end of a short life that I could not save,
then swept away suddenly by the wind's rake,
and ripples formed as it landed on the still lake.
The leaf was carried away and my eyes followed,
then drowned by the water's surface and swallowed,
windy fingertips tugged it from the branch to sever,
existing once, like today, and then was gone forever.
Note - This was my original idea for the poem "The leaf",
but it was revised for a contest. I just wanted to post both
versions of the poem.
You could never be mad at me
Wise old man whom my heart could see
You were there when I needed you
Just a young child so full of life
Causing many an adult strife
If I lied you could see right through
You could never be mad at me
Wise old man whom my heart could see
Because of you I changed my ways
Have respect till my dying days
You were there when I needed you
If I lied you could see right through
You could never be mad at me
Wise old man whom my heart could see

"From deep within my heart
I always catch the scent
Of my beloved. How can I
help but follow the fragrance? ~ Rumi
There is something in you that I see
that churns the calmness of my mind's sea
Is it the beauty of your lovable self, so pure
that I pine to be caged in your heart, secure?
Wings of hours flap fast when you are near,
but, away from me as you glide, I fear
the slow strides of time - hours long - longer than my
endless waves of emotions of love, I sigh!
Oh my beloved...
The true loving essence of your being is the treasure,
I safeguard in my heart: I love you beyond measure;
In a faraway land, as you sparkle in fame,
In my dream, I just wish...
to be the perfect strong hardwood frame
for the graceful photo of your soul - my twin flame.

~Yes, I Know I Won't Be Here Forever~
Sometimes, I just don't realize,
How golden my minutes are.
I sit around and criticize,
Like a hapless drunk in a bar.
Yes, I know I won't be here forever!
The decades, as dreams, swiftly pass,
My irritability gets the best of me.
I complain too much and sass,
Surprised I am not banished to sea.
Yes, I know I won't be here forever!
I never seem to fully appreciate,
That each minute never is coming back.
Time to love and not to berate,
All the beauty God laid in my life's track.
Yes, I know I won't be here forever!

Poem# 1254
6:30pm PST
The vision calls me once again against this restless night
in brilliant strata gems, in timeless dreams of light.
I close my ancient eyes, and there, so long ago
I see the walls that rose above the eventide.
For it was there where we scaled the lofty cliffs
and breached the gates of a grand estate
with rows of high arched windows, fine
and endless rooms of decadence in decline.
His youth, his hair, flowed e’er alive, my heart revived
I followed in his footsteps as we ran among the heights.
Hidden memories we explored, abandoned dusty rooms
we fell into each other’s arms, dancing to a distant tune.
Under the vast eternal sun, my heart was knit
in rapt kinship, time melted in his presence
our days divine, indelible design
were carved for us and us alone.
In random room we laid upon a wooden floor
his strong limbs, my budding breasts
together we explored youth’s sparks
as thick as honey, blossoming to a fragrance.
No other bliss could be like this, I now know
with mirrors in my mind of sunsets’ glow
undimmed by time, I’ll ne’er forget...
...I open ancient eyes with honey on my lips.

If I couldn't please you anymore
Would you still lavender love me
Or would your heart drop on black floor
Would you still hazel hug me
Would you still bring me red roses
Could you rejoice in being friends
If the intimacy department closes
Would you still try to hold holy hand
Would you feel disappointed and blue
Would you turn away from our blond bond
There's an elephant in the room
Would you seek peace in a sacred cream calm
Would you believe our love was a fail
Simply due to my new dedication
Would you try to meet me where
You found my new dedication
I'll never tire of your fire
I lived for it many a day
It is still you I desire
But in a different wholesome way
I am saying love is forever
Even when one of us reaches higher
We have a bond that will not sever
Corinthian Agape type desire
So it is a kind of jest
To ask you such a thing
When we have been so blessed
With love the heart can bring
If I stop an important part
Will you wither like rose inside
Will you take back red heart
And follow me and fuchsia find
There is a holy place of love
That plants a painless peace
Once only day dreamed of
Following pure holy lead
My love has not flown away
It simply matured dear heart
Would your love celebrate
And love me still in God
Fervent wish within your eyes speaking with realistic
Optimism, visible for hope for the future
Reflecting exquisite dream-fullness of mystic nights in your eyes
Ethereal, you are in this perfect world of ours
Volcanic and miraculous things happen with a touch of
Euphoria as we feast with whirling ecstasy in our souls that fights for ever
Refreshing, in such a delicate way that it seems too perfect
I imagine your eyes speaking to me as we venture through
Newfound impulsive existence welcoming universe
Your questions always answered, like the waves coming in from the
Ocean, as we sit embracing on each other’s warmth, watching time pass
Under a roof of celestial stars, until each dawn waxes and wanes
Rapidly breathing deep into the golden sand of our sandcastle
Envisioning our life together, willingly, and joyfully blooming spirit
Youth in a blink, as high in the branches rendering to fields of beauty
Extending to the golden illuminating rays of sunlight
Safe, spacious, life binding with God’s sight

It was such a small thing
It happens all the time
Fathers and sons disagree
Fathers and sons argue
Fathers and sons say things
Things they don't really mean...
We exchanged words
Harsh words over nothing, nothing at all
Childish words over petty differences
Angry words which are critical
so critical now to recall and to relive
over and over again…
You were ready to drop the matter
You were ready to relent and apologize
I was not ready to drop the matter
I was not ready to relent and apologize
You were the adult, I was the child
I reversed the roles, you reversed them back
You wanted to relent. I refused to relent
I refused and let you walk out that door
Yes, I let you walk out that door
That front door, that door to forever
the last time I didn't say goodbye to you
the last time I didn't say I love you
the last time I saw you
the last time I saw you alive…
Resting on the beige leather couch
next to the dimly lit tiffany lamp
He dozed off into an early night sleep
She smiled looking at him
as She sat beside him
rubbing softly his tired feet.
She removed his specs
and book from the chest,
Took off her winter house-coat
leaned over and covered him with it
kissing his left cheek, feeling so blessed.
With eyes full of love She watched him
and wondered if he still sees her in his dreams
Like way back down memory lane
when he used to tug on tightly to his pillow
dreaming of her as he felt the midnight breeze
Did he still dream of moments way back
When he wanted so much to sit next to her
on that high-school old wooden park bench
or of those city strolls walking her home
holding her hand after the Saturday dance.
Everything was silent in the cosy room
And She remained there ...lost in thought ..
How She recalled treasured moments
of their curled toes brushing in the sand,
Of moments when his hand drenched
in rippled waves and playfullly splashed
water against her bare shoulders and over her face.
She could still smell the salt-spray in her hair.
So many yesterdays have passed since then
So many memories, so many changes
Him and Her forever changing...
Her porcelain skin ,now wrinkled
Her cascading chestnut hair turned grey
Yet one thing never changed.
Her heart, Her young heart remained constant
Just like the stars, the sun and moon
scorching their infinite flames.
Oncemore She reached so very close to him
So close She could feel the warmth in his breath
and feel his heart-beat to her own.
"Let me curl next to you", She whispered into his ear
"This night is ours my lovely dear".
"Death ! Oh death will have to wait another day
We'll beat the odds, like warriors, We'll beat them again
Together we can do anything,So hold me my love
Hold me in your sweet embrace..
Tomorrow,What is and when is tomorrow
Tomorrow If you leave before me
I keep on loving you,as long as I live
Whatever,wherever, come what may."
Not a bio .. inspired by the old couple in the Movie 'The Notebook'.
As Her Love Lives Forever In This Heaving Breast
Wisdom, its great truths, that treasure, my newest quest.
As her love lives forever in this heaving breast.
As sun was waiting its glorious rise
I woke again, what a shocking surprise
Room was pitch black and clock stared at me
Blinking rapidly I began to see
A thin sliver of light enter the room
Rapidly it ran away the gloom
Thus without fear I ventured to speak
As into house a happy thought did sneak
Could this new day bring my desired goal
Live again, forgetting life's heavy tolls.
Wisdom, its great truths, that treasure, my newest quest.
As her love lives forever in this heaving breast.
As sun illumination seeds the earth
Dare we mortals rise above lowly birth
Bask in the truth that pure love transcends all
There in the future awaits golden halls.
Wisdom, its great truths, that treasure, my newest quest.
As her love lives forever in this heaving breast.

When walking with Mother Nature, waking with new-cast dawns
Pondering mysteries, life and seeing a speckled fawn
A call arrives crying, give thanks for love and its true gifts
And blessings from above, harmony, peace that so uplifts.
