Yes,I Know I Won'T Be Here Forever

~Yes, I Know I Won't Be Here Forever~

       Sometimes, I just don't realize,
       How golden my minutes are.
       I sit around and criticize,
Like a hapless drunk in a bar.

Yes, I know I won't be here forever!

The decades, as dreams, swiftly pass,
My irritability gets the best of me.
I complain too much and sass,
Surprised I am not banished to sea.

Yes, I know I won't be here forever!

I never seem to fully appreciate,
That each minute never is coming back.
Time to love and not to berate,
All the beauty God laid in my life's track.

Yes, I know I won't be here forever!

Connie~ hope you had a wonderful Father's Day with your family! I was in shock and surprised that this poem was chosen, but very grateful it was. And His love ~to you and blessings to those who commented. I am big on us getting over whatever comes our way. The power of God is always within us to do our best, despite anything. Hoping we all grow spiritually and stop complaining. At least we can encourage beauty via our poems, and stop being an echo of the deplorable, negative media. Thank you. bless you..Panagiota xoxo

Congratulations on your win. When we are young, we do not think about time. As we get older, we see/feel time slipping away. Some seem to think they will live forever. Many do not see the beauty of God and all He has. Enjoy your win and day.....

Dear Paula, first off to thank you for acknowledging the win! Merci. A POTD is terrific for one's poetic soul. The young do die! I have buried plenty. That spirit of being immortal hangs around too long, God is passé these days. We look to Google for answers for wisdom? To God? Fewer do. And wonder why they are miserable and hopeless. Just wrote a poem about that one)) I truly appreciate you! Panagiota xx

"Yes, I know I won't be here forever!" So true. Our bodies hold our soul. We were not meant to carry our spirit in this outer shell forever. Your thoughts tug at my heart. Take care of yourself, the best that you can, and when you die, your soul will go on to live forever. There are only two places it can go. Congratulations Panagiota, on Poem of the Day. My best to you. ~ Brandy

Brandy, wonderful reminder for the p,ante, that there are two places to go when the road ends. This life is the real deal, there are no dress rehearsals. The arrogant, good heavens, have no idea what's ahead. You summed it up better than I could. Thanks for not being selfish and commenting, on this special day. I realize I am not the bard nor a winner of trophies.-)) after this life is over, hope I meet you on the other side. ~ Panagiota.xx

Goodness, John. I am ecstatic that my poem made an impact on you. And humbled it is going into your Favs. I never thought anyone would like it. PS informed me that my poem "A gem of An Inheritance" will be on the homepage. I suggest you read it, it is more in depth than this one. Appreciate your Comments greatly. I have a library of poetry at PS now. As I told Daniel my earlier and better works were quite glossed over. Please do check them out if you so choose. So many talented people of sound mind and heart here. Enjoy whomever you choose! You can find kindred souls here, it's awesome. Panagiota xx

Its interesting to me, Rhonda. Comedians do take life seriously. That's what literally makes us perform creative comedy as I did. One would think life is light to a comedian..not so. But happiness is one side of a coin called life. PR
