P e a c e is a language
spoken between
healing bougainvilleas
and bleeding begonias,
dripping dews of hope
through simple gestures~
like specks of sapphire dust
from stars sparkling
amidst bed-shaped clouds,
crawling through the horizon
many miles away,
stretching
beyond
the fogginess
that veils clarity,
stirring the
anchored odyssey
to sail through
twisted tides of turquoise,
facing the harshness of reality
like a mistress of
sky and sea~
u n b r e a k a b l e,
    cloaked in opalescent shimmers…

Tonight, I feel the warmth of
inner light
rushing through
arteries swollen with angst,
for I am the dream
I’ve been chasing~
through the greyest of rays,
oblivious to the bluest blur
within violet haze,
lost in the coldness of
wicked waves
whistling woeful verses
to the sun that rests
in the arms of the marine nest.

Let me be the serenity
you inhale
when your heart
   feels like a secluded vessel.

Let me be the solace
to midnight melancholy,
when darkness is
the comfort of a duvet
where
nightingales croon.

Let me float like
the softness of feathers
as I wish upon
unseen jewels of twilight,
for I will rise and soar
like a phoenix,
reborn in flames of fortitude,
allowing pain to be
the prompt
when ink suffocates in
a casket of
deceased dahlias
embalmed with
dulcet desires.....

I am the aura
of a waltzing wildflower,
rooted in the soul of your garden
blooming with graceful gladiolus
still soaked in the scent
of sun-kissed sands
homing everlasting evergreens...

   and you
        will f o r e v e r
             be my 3 a.m. prose~
the peace I embrace in your absence,
      when sleep is
          a mere forgotten rhyme...

BEAUTY BLOSSOMS AT A BLESSING’S BEHEST

She was new to me on New Year’s Eve
Even when I felt my senses take their quickened and quiet leave
She had on high heeled purple patent leather shoes
And a patent pending on perfection
Until romance was reborn as rejection

Saliently I was sequestered to a semi- exclusive island
Where slaves to sensuousness succumb to seduction
With the introduction of infinitely instant infatuation for a fool
And desire that could only be quelled by the quietude that resides in her sigh
But for the lasciviousness that lay in her every lie

We begged the New Year begin with Louisiana, lakes, limericks and love
and, per chance, poetry provided by proverbial peacefulness
with cheery cherry blossoms budding beguilingly for only both of us
like the tree we sat under when wonder stole my eye
and I first heard you lie

sadly,
falsehoods failed to forecast a future of fogginess
and a mistiness that hid amid a mystery
for you were an enigma…….
a duality
with a persuasion to plurality
and conceived of by conviviality
you were a mercurial imp of imperfections personified
But what’s worse is that you so casually, callously and caustically lied

Oh yes, and the following New Year’s Eve
I heard our apple blossom tree finally died

Premium Member I Stand In Prayers

I stand in prayers...

I stand in prayers.

To pay my humble respect to the Almighty

I close my eyes,

I bow my head,

To see an unseen God

May be just a spark of light.

In the darkness that surrounds me

My mind plays havoc.

Concentrate, imagine you are standing in front of the Lord, I say to myself.

But behold,

I see my mother reading the scriptures.

My wife in the kitchen

My daughter at her study desk

Oh no, this can’t be happening.

I need to concentrate and focus on the Lord.

I close my eyes.

And behold.

I hear the chirping of the birds.

The meowing of the cat

My mind soaking in the rainforest.

Running around on the beaches

Walking with the moon under the canopy of stars

No, this can’t be happening.

I need to concentrate; I need to focus.

I need to see my Lord.

I need to see Kaaba, but the images of a temple run by

I need to hear the Azan, but church bells penetrate me.

I need to pray, but the memories of my love haunt me.

Tears roll down my cheeks, for my lack of devotion.

My prayers I assume dashed on the rocky shores of religion.

I had no proof of God.

The unseen remained unseen.

But in the mistiness and fogginess of my mind

I realized.

I had seen Him in all that I loved.

He had shown me the panoramic view of all that He is.

Premium Member In the Foggy Weathering of Life

In the midst of the fog of life
we now find ourselves, we often
conclude that we came into this world
with nothing and will leave it likewise—
in doing so, we miss realizing that we
came into this world blessed with love.

Thus, often is the nature of our foggy being;
considering ourselves as valueless creatures—
irrespective of our ethnic foundation, gender—
born/chosen—or our chosen faith-based source
of spiritual wisdom and guidance in our lives.

No one is born valueless and unworthy
but with lack of positive self-concept, allow
and let themselves become perceived as such
in misguided foggy mind, body, and soul.

In the weather of life, fogginess is really just a blind mist;
and while we cannot control the weather of life, we can, via
forecast awareness, prepare ourselves for what to expect.

Often, in the stormy weather of life, we merely become unplugged
rather than having become the victim of an external power outage—
causing us to just sit around and wait for the repairs when all we really
needed to do was to just plug ourselves back in and be re-enlightened
by way of renewed self-awareness! Come now, let us get to plugging!

Where Was I When I Needed Me

i bathed in mordacious threats,
always leading in mordant speech;
perpetual hatred-
so i became unified with my essence,
goodbye to that vitriolic fiend...
             ~i should have i n t e r v e n e d ~

an unholy sacrificial lamb is all who
i am going to be and who I always was;
that makes the hypocrite in me lust
for redemption

a fever envelopes head to toe,
it feels not the heat,
but
the chill running down my nape to
my back to my thighs…
on and
on and
on and…
never ceasing to release my hunger
for more;
so, i run to fields of yore and i
wish to not be poor…
                of heart

amongst the rays of a sunbeam,
i prepare for the coming kismet-
a future with possibilities coming
true for no one but me

i wear too much rouge upon my cheeks,
it shields me from the youth i endured
yet
reveals who i wish to be;
~the woman of dulcet dreams~
o, life not as it seems…

fated to be the one who wears pride,
caring not for the ones who rescued me,
but wishing to see who i want to be
in a crystalline mirror-
fogginess of the worst kind prevails and
i am always the one who fails

sailing onto shores of
where faded seasons convened-
wailing without hope...
               ~i should have i n t e r v e n e d ~

The Dreaded Dream

Sing me a song that will put me to sleep
And I promise my nightly noises will not make you weep,
For I dream aloud, battling the fogginess descended,
Awakening refreshed when that battle has ended,
There are no doors, no locks in this place,
A bit too gloomy but suitable to my taste,
Within the shadows, averting the light,
For they make my eyelids burn and writhe,
The sweetest of dreams are but a myth,
Cheating us, for Reality in comparison we find dreadfully unfit,
Exploring the depths of our languished needs,
Most will stand and stare at the few who succeed,
For though we may wish to be free of these fetters,
We often lack the bravado to seek out something better.

Coffee, I adore thee,
somehow you never bore me.
Bold and dark or mild and smooth,
you get me up and on the move.

In warm embrace or cool frappe,
mocha, french roast, or tall latte,
crema, sospeso or con panna,
you never fail to make my day.

It’s the best thing ever manufactured,
without it, my mind is slow and scattered,
for a quiz or formulating I’d be knackered,
every morning the Keurig is where we gather.

You pick me up and keep me keen,
in complementing any cuisine,
by delivering a dose of sweet caffeine,
you are the original magic bean.

In doses quick or lingered over,
on mornings with a hangover,
I reach for you, your warm embrace,
the morning fogginess to erase.

The flavor, the scent, which is the best?
They are of compound Interest.
French press or espresso - take your pick
- they all provide that delicious kick.

Jitter juice, rocket fuel, cup of joe,
cuppa, morning brew or ristretto,
your flavors please, your scent rouses,
a coffee shop is where the crowd is.

In slang they call it Mormon-crack,
but sugared up or with a snack,
with creamy art or straight-up black
once I’ve got it, you won’t get it back

North Alaska

Valdez boats murmuring waves uphold
liberty falls run betwixt mountains cold
glacier bay form snowy hills by day
fogginess place on mesa mounts and lay
silent it stays for days like prayer take place
abruptly change their ways an be at race
whence found in th' midst of change
whirlwind cage ; decisions range
lost in th' wilderness dying to find
a shield a shelter or someone kind
alas thy soul to find one call
to bear no more an blind fall
what do you think ! which way
whence path is as clear as crystal
whence sorrow is as bold as metal
why then pick the way the path
whence earlier was in wrath
i say anew thou track like bears do
an search for peace within you

Nightmare

It’s here and there and everywhere

The fogginess of my dreams

I can't escape my thoughts today

So full of cries and screams

The echo of my haunted dreams

Is played over in my head

I’ve always hated recurring dreams

For they fill me up with dread

What Happened To My Future

This can not be why I'm here
My future used to look so clear
With high hopes of happiness
Somehow these high hopes are less
Than I planned so long ago
Where did my bright future go
There is no more clarity
Fogginess is all I see
Trying hard to get it straight
All I ever do is wait
For a sign to come along
Right will take away the wrong
I'm this hill I'm now struggling
To climb over but it's tugging
Me back down with every step
Its difficult to find the pep
Inside myself, its slowly fading
Clouds are full and darkly shading
Any light I seem to find
I'm about to lose my mind
If this path I have to walk
Keeps stabbing me like a fork
Leaving little holes in me
Pouring out the misery
Playing like a sad sad tune
Praying happy music soon
Will engulf me with protection
And dance me in a new direction

Premium Member Don't Follow Me

Through the lens of laughter
I cope with endless clatter

The noise never fades away
Heavy rests the crown each day

I crumble inside they can’t see
Struggles I hide so silently

The days are cold long and grey
My fogginess will lead them astray

Seek your guidance elsewhere
You risk falling into despair

You follow blindly unaware
Directing you wrong I can’t bear

Find another guide to lead
I no longer have what you need

I laugh to mask the pain I feel
My guidance would not be real

Aging Agony

I might grow bald...great...(don't tear my confidence apart)
No offense, but I'm old young -
Meaning, old in heart...(in lonely, glad, mad and misunderstood states as of late)

Growing wearier
As the years pass on by...bye...
Youth is not gone yet

I embrace notions
That being old can be good!
If there's pros, there's cons

I might lose my mind (my memory in other outlandish words)
But, I don't mind being wise (better than being foolish and dumb)
Might as well rewind (look back at good ol' times...that flutter away from my dementia-inflicted mind, feeling under a rock and fogginess clouds my mind as I unwind for a time...dreading the fact that I was and will be left behind and a long-lost lamb, willing to be found)

Premium Member Infused With Pain

I can’t breathe
I struggle to find my breath
Under all this intensity
Of fogginess mixed with pain
Lost, without a thought
As none but gruesomeness
Comes out of my brain
I lift my head with a silent scream
It hurts, I say with passion
No-one around to plea
A terrible round of timeless
And sleepless bouts of pain
Crossing my body
All at once gripping me
With a force unforeseen
And never had I experienced
The trauma of delirium
That follows this blast
I waver with dizziness
Speculate what will happen to me
If I lay here dying
What will my last words be
If I’m alone

I See Rainbows!

I see rainbows that glitter and blend around the bend!
finding the gold is easy but sharing is what leprechauns fear
I see unity after war, but first be ready for war!
I see blood that's not afraid to show its true colors
I see children sold to be adults
I hear bullets breaking down tradition by bringing guns to a knife show
I see elders that have forgotten to respect themselves
I predict fogginess over cloudy minds and shady hearts
I see rainbows, for what they really are...
Chaos that will change its pace and reality
Riding on the coat tails of storms
Bullying growth back into its root
Destroying our seed from sprouting
Yes, I see rainbows that live for humanity but will die undivided

In the Fogginess

the fathomage
of thoughts falling
from fogged mind
are thickset
like september air

i shiver beneath
its imponderous touch
as memories awaken
before the dawn

i am flushed
in crimson tones
as the horizon blushes
in similar hues

I watch thoughts
and darkness
fade out
beyond the screams
of awakening birds
as if carried
on the beat of their wings
the crescendo of night's winds
become mere whispers
stilled like hushed thoughts
as the fog lifts
