Don't Follow Me

Through the lens of laughter
I cope with endless clatter

The noise never fades away
Heavy rests the crown each day

I crumble inside they can’t see
Struggles I hide so silently

The days are cold long and grey
My fogginess will lead them astray

Seek your guidance elsewhere
You risk falling into despair

You follow blindly unaware
Directing you wrong I can’t bear

Find another guide to lead
I no longer have what you need

I laugh to mask the pain I feel
My guidance would not be real
