From My Window Lofty High

From my window lofty high
I sit and watch the passersby
Safely from within the womb
Of this quiet and private room
That's my asylum in the sky
And, I imagine...

From the safety of my perch
Above the elm, the oak, and birch
Alone, I slowly drift through life
Exempt from conflict, chance, or strife
Away from any harmful search
And, I imagine...

From my pinnacle of peace
Much like the eagle, lark, and geese
I wrap myself in solitude
Safely from the multitudes
And their evils that never cease
And, I imagine...

I imagine a world doing good
With folks behaving like they should
A world glowing with brotherly love
That's flowing down from God above
With all faiths lovingly understood
But then...

From this prison lofty high
I'm left alone to wonder why
Why the world became so cold
And, why compassion can't unfold
Out there perhaps a soul could try
But here alone,
                     ...I can only imagine.

My Least Favorite Things

To the tune of.. “These are a Few of my Favorite Things“.

Bass boomers spreading their mis’ry in traffic
Craving attention and driving me spastic,
Not caring an oodle for anyone else,
This **** will drive one to poor mental health!

Cops who ignore them and keep right on driving,
Passing we drivers who are suff’ring and sighing,
Speeding, ignoring all laws of the road ,
Why do they think they’re exempt from the code?!

That lady texting who’s climbing your bumper,
Foll’wing for miles, you’d sure like to dump her,
Getting so peeved I just ran a red light!…
But she’s hanging in there with all of her might!

Here comes a pick up and he’s really flying,
can’t push me over but he’s really trying,
sans blinkers he cut me in one single swoop,
You scraped my bumper you dang nincompoop!

Sweating and trying, for my place I’m vying,
Choking on gas fumes, ‘n some kid is crying
That lady just stopped for a friggin green light,
I screeched on my brakes and near died of fright!

That bass nut’s still booming, my blood pressure’s zooming,
That green light stopper’s picked this time for grooming
That texter’s horn behind me is starting to blow,
The light turned red and she thinks I should go!

These are a few of my least favorite things,
That I could avoid if I only had wings…

I commute 3 hours a day and this is just
a sample. : )

Premium Member And Zenith Is Its Name

Among tall weeds are waving tulips, with satin pearls of dew
Blowing trumpets, and brushing grasses, with shades of cheerful tunes
Creating carpets soft and fair, where every eye can rest,
Dancing petals kiss the breezes, in flirting dalliance
Each breath of wind, caresses strands, of lupine, blending in
Foxglove, flax, and buckwheat stand, so slender on their stems
Green buds, fragile, on the limbs, of trees in cloisters, high
Have opened bliss upon the ridge, while clouds are passing by
Ivy tendrils wrap the oaks, which grow exempt from time
Just as God would wrap a heart with joy at Easter time
Keeping watch, a hawk swoops down, to scout a meadow's floor
Looming high, it circles 'round, in time for afternoon
Morning 's sun has long been gone,, and left a touch of warm
Night had left a trail of showers, from the passing storm
Opened flowers, bask in sunlight, breaking through the cold
Pastel colors, and fragrant blossoms, paint the world in gold
Question not the splendid wonder, it's ours now to explore
Rejoice with eyes, behold and conquer, spring is at our door
Saturate the heart with "happy", as the day unfolds
To stand, alone, and hear the songs, birds and bees have told
Underneath the cloak of springtime, is all that we could ask
Voices call within the wind, and meadow larks will ask
Will we take this world for granted, or leave it to the rest?
Xanadu is ours to own, nature at it's best
You came, you saw, a sign of spring.......and
Zenith, is its name

What We Leave Behind

no one is exempt
from what we leave behind...
not even the earth

Premium Member Nefarious Spirit

Nefarious Spirit

The Human Creature is not exempt
As the nefarious spirit lives within.

Even the saintliest of us all have
A touch of the nefarious within.

My secret is that I am with you always—
When you’re awake, asleep, and dreaming.

I am your alter ego at times and even
That dark shadow in the room beyond.

When you gaze into your morning mirror—
I am there too as only a faintly bare existence.

Don’t look too hard and too deeply into the mirror—
For I shall disappoint, become invisible, and disappear.

In your evil-thinking moments of anger and rage,
I shall hunt others for you at your behest and desire.

But I shall haunt you and surely play on your emotions,
If you’re wrong about the others, no matter who they be.

Being an uncanny spirit of action, sorrow, and chaos
I can act on a moment’s notice and bring pain to bear.

I live in the deepest, darkest chasm of your inner psyche,
Be sure to use me wisely—whilst showing all due care!

The Marrakesh Express

September now having past as October has now arrived
In such a harvest so vast of what has one really derived
For the Harvest is not finished but it has only just begun
A point not diminished as now all things still aren't done

Russia is in the Middle East and Israeli tensions are rising
But to say the least you can not say that this is surprising
First it was Putin and the Ukraine as a stepping off point
Of course he is insane and so too are those who'll anoint

And the Markets aren't exempt as world economies strain
Some feeling a little verklempt but greed controls the brain
The big shemitah lying in wait but that war will help oil rise
Yet remember 777 in 2008 so like I said before, no surprise

The technology has been here but so rarely has it been used
But one thing is clear, the world is more and more confused
Like waiting at a railway crossing in hearing it from far away
In so easy tossing the unfortunate who have chosen to stray

2Peter 3:3-4
Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers,
walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming?
For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue
as they were from the beginning of the creation.

Premium Member Nugget

Jumbled jewels all glisten
Ready for a stint imprisoned
Stuck in setting glory losing
Witness to debauchery and boozing

Bound in filth a nugget found
Pasture yields a bounty fast
Cut and polished set for sale
No justice, lost from purity

The innocence of one destroyed
Full dishonor breeds contempt
All for glaring wicked posture
Marked for life, no one exempt

Folly fires to polarize
Collared painful revelry
No return to sanitize
Bedecked the dead in jewelry

Crocodile Medicine

I always said that when I die,
I would love to return as a butterfly.
One with yellow, velvet dominions,
Fragile and lofty pinions.

I confused freedom of flight,
With a more placid folly of delight.
I fancied a short life of absurdity,
Rather than one of conformity.

Now I cherish longevity,
Grounded within ancient philosophy.
To satisfy the quench of survival,
Claim a primal, self-powered revival.

A fierce passion for more depth,
The precious treasure of breath.
Stamina and vigor from inner domination,
So I value every moment of creation.

Oh! The prehistoric sagacity,
Exempt from conceited desparity.
Replaced with the confidence to lurk,
And love obscurity's dark murk.

And still adore butterfly's romance,
Though not as a victim of happenstance.
Should the winged one wish to not feed her fears,
She can drink from years of crocodile tears.

Babbit's Sabbath

Babbit’s Sabbath

Sundays still come
  at least once a week
and I look upon them
  as a special treat.
A day set aside
to give both praise and prayer
opening to the Lord on high
  that I’m still down here.
The struggles both losses and gains
seem to be the present life’s relief
remnants of youth that remain
waiting on the final tally sheet.
So after all the years of passing
solace comes in the silent inner burn
with faith returned and lasting
  reminiscent of the lessons learned.
The knees don’t bend as easily
but still I make the attempt
bowing my head with wheezing
  asking God I be exempt.
The words slip thru my mind
blending hope and dreams deeply felt
searching for the God I long to find
as daily tasks express gratitude for the life I’m dealt.
No work today, no laundry or gardening
  just peace, quiet and reflection
as God grant me pardoning
  for the past wrong directions.
So Lord, here I am on Sunday, Babbit’s Sabbath.

Premium Member Enthusiasm

"Enthusiasm is nothing more or less than faith in action." Henry Chester

That exuberant feeling deep down inside,
It isn’t energy and not quite pride.
To complete acts of grandeur it sets the mind reeling.
Deep down inside there is that exuberant feeling.

Knowing this you will achieve, in success you will bask.
It’s a feeling of confidence that you can handle the task.
An incentive of willpower to drive what you believe.
In success you will bask knowing this you will achieve.

It’s when you feel eager for a well-considered attempt.
Faith that you can conquer with all hesitations exempt.
Its absent when the effort given to a project was meager.
For a well-considered attempt, it’s when you feel eager.

Enthusiasm, a grand word, it came from the Greek nation.
Its meaning is “God within” which needs no explanation.
The faith that you have will keep your soul stirred.
It came from the Greek nation, enthusiasm, a grand word.

We will be immensely engaged in activities we enjoy,
It’s no effort for full assertiveness to employ.
With enthusiasm our full capability will be uncaged.
In activities we enjoy we will be immensely engaged.

There will be no circumvention, nothing subdued.
Living with genuine enthusiasm is having a positive attitude.
Its essential for leading a meaningful life with good intention.
Nothing subdued, there will be no circumvention.

Most children have a degree of enthusiasm at will.
An eagerness and faith that there is nothing they cannot fulfill.
A concept the fortunate will retain through adulthood to be.
Of enthusiasm at will most children have a degree.

When enthusiasm is there, it takes away drudgery from deeds.
It creates delight and incentive to the most mundane needs.
God within our very soul, faith that we can achieve whatever we dare.
It takes away drudgery from deeds when Enthusiasm is there.

No Pain No Gain

No pain no gain in the natural,
No pain unfortunately that’s the way,
Working on biceps, and other muscles,
For physical results. No exempt from life’s
 Problem without a doubt.

Who needs pain to gain in any case?
Nothing good comes easy we know.
It’s part of life and we cannot change,
Adam and Eve in labor set the stage.

No pain no gain no end result to boast,
Pain so painful, still attracts a toast,
Enjoy the success, and freedom it brings
Not anything specific, but almost anything.

Premium Member They Don'T Know

I walk in a busy street, happy faces everywhere
Coats buttoned tight against the cold,
Stomachs full, warm shoes on their feet.
They don't know.

My grandparents limped through the streets
Cold, starving, wearing tattered coats.
Barefoot in Germany in winter, for a crime of birth
Convicted by fear, jealousy and hate.

It is autumn, and all around me the colors explode
As if a giant splattered paint from his brush
On the landscape, his canvass, until sated.
He didn't know.

My family endured colorless years
The only hue the yellow stars they were forced to wear
To mark each as something less than a person,
Exempt from even the most basic human rights.

There's a chill in the air this time of year
Smoke billows from the chimneys of dozens of homes
And bonfires litter the neighborhood like cinders
They don't know

My mother can't see a chimney without crying
Reminders of the chimneys at the camp
Where her friends, relatives and nameless Jews
Were released as grey smoke to hover and signal release.

Everyday I see people covered in tattoos.
Tattoo shops pop up offering expensive artwork
Anywhere on the body, some covering every inch.
They don't know.

My mother had a tattoo way before they were popular.
She did not choose it -- it was forced upon her by her jailers.
A number tattooed in black on the inside of her arm
Her only hope of being identified if she survived.

The children born today have choices,
And must never allow a "Holocaust" again;
Choices to wear, eat, watch, think, and love what and who they want.
Make sure they know.

Premium Member Last Night I Dreamt

Last night I dreamt
That the world was all at rest
From vice exempt
Filled with songs of mortals blessed
(Refrain)
And we waltzed to the strains of a song
'Neath the arbour of love and repose
Glad in heart at the absence of wrong
'Mid the lilacs and hedges of rose

Last night I dreamt
That I danced the night away
In some attempt
To hold back the morning's gray
(Refrain)
And we waltzed to the strains of a song
'Neath the arbour of love and repose
Glad in heart at the absence of wrong
'Mid the lilacs and hedges of rose

Last night I dreamt
Of an arbour filled with light
And then I wept
When it vanished from my sight
(Refrain)
And I've naught but a memory dear
Of the dresses of silk and brocade
Of the moon and the stars shining clear
And the fond wish that I could have stayed

The Mark of the Beast

**The Mark of the Beast**

The Mark of the Beast
At the end of all time
It is recorded in God’s Word
A curse for mankind

There will be a Mark
Mandated across the world
No one is exempt
Not slave or king
All must be branded
To show allegiance to the Beast

The Mark of the Beast
Affixed to your forehead or right hand
The Mark of the Beast
The Serpent’s final plan

His desire is to drag all the children of God to hell
And join him for eternity in his molten lava cell
What will be your decision?
Will you bow to the King of Hell?
IF YOU TAKE THIS MARK
IT WILL BANISH YOU TO HELL!!!

The other choice is to choose Jesus Christ
He is the King on His way
He is coming to rapture His bride
For wrath they will not stay

There will be a remnant of Christians left behind
They will be tested and tested
Purified and tried

This testing time will be the worst upon the earth
Famines, wars, starvation, and disease
It will bring the children of God to their eternal knees

Please take this biblical poem and pray over it this day
If you are not holy and fearing the One True God
AFTER THE RAPTURE YOU WILL STAY!

According to the Apostle John in Revelation chapter 13
If you open up your Bible
This information you can glean!

Gwendolen Rix
8-28-14

Revelation 13: 16-18
16 He required everyone—small and great, rich and poor, free and slave—to be
given a mark on the right hand or on the forehead. 17 And no one could buy or sell
anything without that mark, which was either the name of the beast or the number
representing his name. 18 Wisdom is needed here. Let the one with understanding
solve the meaning of the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man.[c] His
number is 666.[d]
