Premium Member A Spring Romance

My first sight of him was on a March day
in a restaurant where I was dining.
Oh lovely chance when his sweet eyes met mine.
Like two lovely jewels, they were shining.

The look that he gave me was a long gaze.
Brazen but fresh, but like morning dew
caressing a flower and making it glow.
I read in his eyes “Let it be you!”

Then I, like a rose caressed by the dew,
glowed pink as I blushed. Though normally prim,
I saw him stand up, his eyes glued to mine.
Emboldened, I smiled and stared back at him!’’

He walked to my table and sat down by me.
Together we dined and chatted that day.
Two hearts and two minds with longing reached out.
The whole afternoon slipped quickly away.

With the day’s ending, together we left.
In the clear evening, he said so softly,
“I know the stars, and you’ll see this night
there will be stars, dear, for you and for me.”

There at my door, he leaned in for the kiss
so beautifully soft and wonderfully long.
We heard thunder! Suddenly came a spring rain.
The wind, once a breeze, grew exceedingly strong.

Because it was cold, I had him come in.
The stars were not out, but I almost could swear
they’d burst in my soul when his lips met mine.
If he had faults, I thought “I shall not care!”

He stayed until morning. In spite of the storm,
my heart sang a song! There’d be plenty of
nights filled with stars for him and for me.
Life’s sweetest gifts are for those who love.

THE POETS PLUCK (poet of your choice) Poetry Contest of Mystic Rose

My first poetry book when I was a teenager was an illustrated Hallmark edition called "Those Who Love" by Sara Teasdale. I have included almost half the titles of poems in that book to write this poem. Teasdale's romantic poetry has been a wonderful influence on me.

Premium Member The Beauty of Lucifer

until an hour before the devil fell,
God thought him beautiful in heaven . . .
                              (Arthur Miller)

God created his angels long before
the temptation of Adam and Eve,
and the angel Lucifer was the most beautiful
he moved freely between roaming earth
and back to heaven and to the throne of God

Lucifer fell from heaven because of his pride
    conceit in his own beauty
      his wisdom
         his intelligence
            his power

he desired to be GOD and not a servant of God
he was exceedingly beautiful and he used that beauty for evil
God made him the highest of all angels
a heaven where all the angels were beautiful but Lucifer
was God's most lovely creation

Lucifer wanted the throne of God
wanted to take over heaven
cast out God
in any way he could divise

but an hour before the temptation in the garden
God cast the beautiful angel, Lucifer out of heaven
he did not fall
he was pushed out

Lucifer came down and down
created an anti-God city where he was the ruler
he created hell
and became the Satan that we know of today
and temptation became his sword of power
he can appear to you in many forms
from beautiful or evil
     a monster with horns
        or even a hissing snake

Satan moves freely between roaming earth
and back to his dark city . . .
his only purpose to fill his city of Hell

How different was the world of long ago
when writing was a special skill to hone,
and masters of this art were so well known
with names like Wordsworth, Shelley, Frost or Poe.
The realm of poetry began to grow
exceedingly as newer forms were sown
though now there are so few of world renown
while poetry itself sees endless flow!
The techno world allows us to be seen
on countless websites and we all can claim
to be a poet, but the irony
is that there barely is a thing to glean
from this, for often just to show one's name,
the poet pays the publisher a fee!

God's Spiritual Stimulus Plan

President Barak Obama has an economic stimulus plan
to move the nation out of this financial quicksand
with foreclosures and jobs lost the situation is depressing
over $700 billion to get us out of this recession

but I know that all my help comes from the Lord
and God won't let me write a check that I cannot afford
the God who made Heaven and Earth has never let me down
the God who created me won't let me financially drown
He is my source, He is my strength, He is my right hand
and since money is not the god I serve I trust in His stimulus plan

for I know my God is able to keep food on my table
I know my God will always come through whenever a bill is overdue
I know my God is up to the task to give me all that I ask
God's spiritual stimulus plan is my daily bread
infused with His promises that keep me spirit-fed

and no matter how dire my circumstance
I turn to God and He extends me a branch
for greater is He who is in me than what is in this world
and greater is what He has promised me than anything from man I've heard
He suffered for me, He died for me, His blood was on the cross
there's nothing He won't do for me so I won't suffer anymore loss
the joy of the Lord is now in my hands
my God's spiritual stimulus plan

and even when my back's against the wall
the God I serve won't let me fall
and even if my 401K has diminished
the God I serve will replenish
and even if my stock portfolio tanks
the God I serve has a full spiritual bank
exceedingly, abundantly and above all
the God I serve will answer my call
in all things, in anything and in everything
there's nothing that my God cannot change
my God is able and on His word I do stand
trusting in Him to revive me with His spiritual stimulus plan

Premium Member When a Person Respects You Potd

Wow! Please do count yourself
exceedingly blessed!
You need not meet their requisites,
to pass a friendship test.

They allow you a fragrant, flowered
leeway.
It’s not the ice cold, rock hard,
pavement of “their”way!

Respect means giving your sister
or brother, expressive room.
Not sealing them like death, in a “my
ideas only, allowed” tomb.

Friends, we seem to think, are there for
us to hurt?
You will feel their absence terribly, when
the friendship bubble, you burst!

Prehension

Blithesome

Solutions To Old Nursery Rhyme Complaints

I've often wondered who dealt with
fairy tale complaints. There seems to
be a lot of them among the fairy tale
acquaints.

Here are just a few suggestions I myself
if could, would make and maybe fairy Tale
land would be peaceful for heaven's sake.

Old Mother Hubbard had no bones in
her cupboard and her dog has no bone.
We could offer her Pease pudding and even
if it is nine days old, I am sure the dog would
be happy with the old crone.

Peter Peter Pumpkin eater, put his wife
in a shell, there he kept her very well.
There's no time to plead and pine nor
no time to wheedle, if she would kiss him
quick, he would be gone, and pop would go
that weasel.

Seesaw Margery Daw, Johnny got a new master
johnny only earned a penny a day because he
could work no faster. He should take lessons from
Peter Piper who could pick a peck of pickles and at
it became a master.

There was an old woman who lived in a house
exceedingly small, a man open his mouth and
swallowed woman, house and all. Maybe he should
of had some of the King's Blackbird pie and he could
have filled his tummy instead with a pie full of caw.

Premium Member Two Poet Pen Pals Having Fun

My pen pal and I both had a passion for poetry books
The city library was thought of. We met in her nooks.
Shush! Shush! We heard from a librarian, truly staid.
With face of a rooster, we knew she was an old maid.

Two pen pals forever, we only had one day to meet.
We knew it would be fun, endearing, exceedingly sweet.
We ditched the library, my forever pen pal and me.
We headed northeast, where two terrific poets should be.

We picked out a spot where literary mermaids danced and sang.
Faeries and brownies came along with a hull-a-balloo band.
Dictionary gargoyles got frisky, and gave us some sass.
We rolled our eyes, ignoring them, and their syllable grass.

It was a fine time. Two poet pen pals having a blast.
Collaborating hard, ideas in spurts, and real fast.
And that is how we two pen pals finally met, and had some real fun.
If you doubt this incredible tale, you are not the only one.

Premium Member Fires, Unfaithful

heaven ...
is my prison ...
that dreamy, white tangle of
percale where your
limbs and mine weave sweaty magic -
a moon-daubed canvas of
pyretic passion, public ...
no shut-door, drawn-curtain modesty to
confine or make sacred ...
the danger of chance discovery is
our brush, our pigments but
blood ... water ...

     (pray, this haughty
consideration of both ... and each -
is not the nectar of veins
      more binding?
yet, in all its giving of life,
water - the most earthly flow, abundant -
      is exceedingly more precious ...
      more crucial in dynamism
      to all the Universe
      than that which clots for
kings of kings of kings ...
and those who keep little lives in their
      pocket, squeezing tears from
      a passion's pains) ...

we watch the
strokes of our masterpiece
take shape ...
our fleshy doppelgangers echo us on
strategically beveled mirror ceiling panels ...
an exquisite debauchery - the
perfect pauses in your form
demanding the gaze ...
oh, to waste away like Erised in contemplation of
your provocative pieces and bits ...
torrid,, touchable temples that I build
myself for the spying eyes
we count on ...
wives, husbands, leches, learners -
a grand performance, ours ...

and ...
from the ashes of our
god, do we arise, (blood, tears and marrow) ...
our mortal senses gone, wagered in
feigned dignity or hope, these
buttresses will stand proud for the
sacrifices of character ... and kindnesses ...
or crumble in care for the chaste
as my illicit actress and I ...
burn.

exceedingly slowly….
My quick retorts come
too late to be

too loud to be
ignored.
Few know
the depth

Echoes of Your Soliloquy

stay here,
find me passionate-
feel my idyllic pleasure fight none

exceedingly loved am i without fear
adrift the Atlantic tides rescuing me
into safe solace

echoes of your soliloquy reach depths
too deep to comprehend

your thoughts,
my words-
your amour,
my soul-shining wonder

once languid, now strong,
for this is the dalliance i’ve
always dreamed of in my youthful longings

contouring the outline of your silhouette,
renown for all you are to me and more-
whispering poetries to your heart
as i walk o’er bridges of hope;
for i shall never be alone…
again

nevermore shall be no more,
for it’s you that i adore
and
the moonlit breeze lays flowing-
this love we share, softly glowing

Premium Member Prayer For My Offender

Let my offender have full remorse
as he watches
his own daughter grow.
Let her never know
what he did to me.

Let sorrow
pierce his heart like an arrow.
Let the Lord soothe the wound
and chasten him with the scar.

Let repentance pour out.
Let forgiveness overflow.

Let his heart be humble
to learn the fullness of
a father's love.
Lord, lift his sin burden
like a raven in flight,
then let a dove descend.

Let him protect his daughter
from the man he once was.
Let him not live in fear
of her violation
by his or another's hands.
Let her purity be preserved.

Let his wickedness
be ravished
by mercy and truth.*
Let his heart not regard
the sins of his youth.*

Let him receive forgiveness plenty,
just as God, for Christ's sake
has forgiven me,*
and I reap the blessings.
Let him be blessed, too.*

Let innocence be restored,
and let us esteem
the name of the Lord.

Let my offender praise purity
and be a passionate advocate
for the vulnerable and abused.

Let his wife be blessed
by his new life.
If he chooses to confess,
let her forgive
and have a heart of
compassion and trust,
discarding anger and disgust.

Let repentance pour out.
Let forgiveness overflow.

Let the cycle of sin discontinue.

Let their intimacy be
exceedingly better than
what he sought wrongfully.

Let him wonder
how the offended was affected.
Let him pray that she will fully forgive,
not harboring any hint of bitterness.

Give him peace, knowing
that by God's grace,
their wounds will heal.*

*Proverbs 6:6

By mercy and truth iniquity is purged:
and by the fear of the Lord men depart from evil.

*Psalm 25:7

Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness' sake, O LORD.

*Ephesians 4:32

32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

*Luke 6:28

Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.

*Psalm 147:3

He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.

Astounded By Your Tenderness

you may think you
are exceedingly insignificant

but

your soul carries
more warmth than
the sun bestows
to the earth.

for I have been awoken by
the words spoken…by you.

you may think I don’t
believe in you as I once did

but

your heart carries
more affection
than an autumn day
mid-October.

for I have been satisfied and
I’m gratified…because of you.

you encompass my very being,
and I am astounded by your tenderness.

Sweethearts Enchantment

As a sweethearts cremson rose
True Love… within hearts... be-trolled
Each beat… is ever lasting… sweet
Mesmerizes two souls

As passion… within overflows
Desires begin... Exceedingly grows
Just like… a moon lit night… shows
Stars sparkles with… twilights gleam

Within the mist… of it all... such bliss
Glorious love… intertwine two streams
Grasping a soft… but boisterous kiss
Within dreams… of dreams… total paradise it seems

Song Lyrics whispering… Sweetheart’s enchantment
Mysteriously be-holding… God blessings sent
Tenderly within reach
True Love unfolding… between each

Sweet fervent… within arm’s reach
Touched within... hearts of gold
Love everlasting… never grows cold
Magic parallel… between two

God’s gives True Love… encounter by two
Mystical Bliss
Sweetheart’s enchantment… “I Love You”
True Love in life… Subsists

~God Blessings come of ~True Love~within Hearts between two Souls~
                          ~Come to Jesus~Receive All Gods' Blessings~
