Early Christmas Thoughts
Early Christmas Thoughts
Jesus, we want the world to honor us.
We don't ask for your honor, though!
We are children of the Most High
God.
And on this,your birthday,
We honor a fat man in a red suit.
What must you think of us?
We drive throgh towns honoring
plastic snowmen and deer.
No signs of you, your Mother or Father.
We spend thousands on presents,
trees and decorations,
Icicles and peppermint sticks.
Christmas pajamas, candles galore.
Electronic devices to separate us..
Each family member hooked up to
the outside world..not less...
But exceedingly more!
Forgive us God, we are more and more
no longer your sons and daughters.
We have two powerful gods running us...
Eternal busy-ness plus the Internet.
You are no longer a priority, no
longer a star on our tree,
Just an optional thing.
Our houses will not reflect your birth.
We don't know how to pray..
I can't imagine Jesus, what you think
of us...
God the Father in heaven gave us you.
But this holiday is absolutely about all
things...but Jesus.
Our Christmas cards reflect the same,
a total shame!
It's not about you and your Holy name.
As once it was...
We grow further from thee.
Please forgive us.
We are lost sheep!
