When a Person Respects You Potd

Wow! Please do count yourself exceedingly blessed! You need not meet their requisites, to pass a friendship test. They allow you a fragrant, flowered leeway. It’s not the ice cold, rock hard, pavement of “their”way! Respect means giving your sister or brother, expressive room. Not sealing them like death, in a “my ideas only, allowed” tomb. Friends, we seem to think, are there for us to hurt? You will feel their absence terribly, when the friendship bubble, you burst! 11/18/2022

Friendship like any relationship of love and respect is a fragile thing . Balance and compassion are essential. Listening is also another part of the picture, allowing the other to express themselves even if they have different viewpoints. Your words ring true dear Pangie ! Susan, you and I are on the same page Listening is totally significant~this is an important aspect. We all only possess pieces of the truth. Though I know we might think we know far more. As a young girl, I had a friend who did not realize she knew the answer to everything, it was obnoxious. She bosssed folks around and stiil does. Being RIGHT is not a win. It’s the booby prize! Congratulations on your POTD, my friend! For a site that promotes positive and encouraging feedback for the members, there sure seems to be a lot of hate being spewed at times. We all come from different background and have different viewpoints to share. Just tell it in a way that supports others, not in a way that promotes hate and division. Write On! Bill

Yes, Bill. I have received hate comments. There is soupmail to write hateful things to instead of making oneself a fool infront of all poets. Or…,if you feel that strongly email them. The other option is to delete the comment or send a copy to PS. All of us have the right to delete comments from arrogant ones here,yet whole groups have stopped reading me! They back a mean Poet. All that does is support them in being mean…..Pangie thank you.

Respect is a two way street. Sometimes it's difficult to respect those who don't show the same kind of attitude, however, if you're striving to live the way you should- it comes naturally. I just l adore your description, Kim. In a true friendship, there is No Room for condemnation or worse, self- righteousness. We have to allow and be joyful in differences. My Mom, Irene,of blessed memory, told me when I was young and feisty, Pangie! Not everyone has to think like you! Funny, I thought they did! LOL. I learned, I was wrong.
