"Amid the jagged shadows of mossy leafless boughs; "
Samuel Taylor Coleridge
He dwells on the sound, of the leafless branches
Describes the trees, admits the guiltless eye
In conversation with frivolous jagged shadows
His joys and sorrows with a true heart
The tree and he, had already embraced each other
In the winter when the stars shiver under the frost,
the trees go to sleep
Thin branches, like chalk white fingers point up into the air
The passion that everyone feels drunk with
but not so drunk that you drown
With magical power and a warm soul
Strange fluctuation of all natural things
Branches encircled with a beard of moss
a buzzing life of larvae
where the birds can live without alms
Before the happy days are lost in curly
cold and heavy snow clouds
~ we seek the absolute truth

Last night I wandered past your total disregard
And walked forlorn
Stark insecurity amplified
Still I walked , my usual forebearance uncomplied
Upon furthermost the distance between us elongated
The sustenance of forgotten stores inside me generated
I was venerated - nay subjugated
Of these morsels congregated
And fed me through those inkblack nights
In dewfall of the quiet
Inside unheard the rebel riots
As my breath became a billion
As my fears that I embraced
Loosed themselves and fearing fled
Melting in the murky bellows
Did I find my standing there...
Naked but for meekness laced
Forgotten was my fear
I needs you dId not anymore
Nor your disregard this doggone day
Not dejected as before
Only sin has me surrounded
And soon encircled dissappears,decays
Unclothed in limped insignificance
Nothing said ...
So still your body lies

Quote by: Tom Woody Poem by: Mystic Rose
Every sunset closes the door on a day of pain and sorrow. And each sunrise opens a window to a fresh, new start. What will you do with yours?
A sunrise yawns and suddenly I'm born again, to hope and joy
within the windows of my soul a shutter opens and I slide
glad that the sunset has blanketed my body with marrows of dark
From blush of night to pink of day, I dance upon God's open sky
enclosed inside a heaven where even Angels sigh
happy to be part of a Universe I sit enfolded tween' the stars
Surrounded by God's love it matters not the time of day or night
as I shift from dark to light with eyes wide open true
I know that Mother Earth will open wide her arms to me and you
A chasmal moment of grace appears on the horizon to break the morn
encircled by flowers, trees and rivers, I know that life is good
no matter how many hours night throws at me feet
no matter how much pain or sorrow I feel, I will never be defeated.

Every year from spring through fall, if you peered between the cattails you could see the swans in the center of the pond, head to head, their love peering back. On the pond's edges, from the tops of lily pads, frogs were singing of love's song as dragon flies frolicked gleefully above. We would sit and watch them countless hours, day after day as they gracefully swayed to the rhythm encircled in the reflections of love. One year in the dawning of spring, he returned alone, we watched him slowly swim with downcast head to the center of the pond, within the shadows of lost love he'd pause in the ripples that surrounded him, his sadness reaching the edges of the pond, where abandoned lily pads tilted downward caught in the spirals of his lonely tears. He still comes to the pond, muddied and alone from spring through fall, through clouded eyes we still watch him swim, wreathed within his pain we taste his loneliness.
head downcast, he swims
enclosed in the pond's ripples
his tears splashing back

Let me tell you a story....
of a little girl who didn't want to be a Princess!!!!
it happened a long time ago, in the life of an adorable girl of seven,
who lived in the busiest humming city, enormously crowded.
a gentle dreamy-eyed girl, who chose secret corners to read,
and play with her cherished dolls' house, which her father built.
as it happened..her father found a job..and it was an idyllic countryside,
excitedly she followed family, felt fortunate to be close to nature.
a fairyland of her dreams, a picturesque hamlet surrounded by lush fields,
lived in a cottage encircled by a gorgeous garden, bird-songs, and swings.
she went to the village-school, which was a mere walking distance,
carrying her backpack, water bottle, and books she needed.
her father was the powerful manager of the local textile mill,
where most of the villagers worked, and earned their living.
all the children glanced at her as if she were a Princess,
but this soft dainty lass craved to be purely one of them.
she noticed...those children were walking barefoot to school,
no backpack, no bottle of water, no shiny expensive clothes.
end of the day, she returned home, and declared to her caring parents,
"I don't need the backpack, bottle for water, or the stylish shoes...
starting from tomorrow, I am going to walk to school barefoot"
her parents were shocked, but didn't disagree with her at all.
from the following day, the warm friendly girl of seven,
felt totally comfortable and undoubtedly right, with her decision.
all children were frolicking with her, no more was she a distant Princess,
she was their delightful friend...sharing the same life they had in the village.
she still remembers those eyes which sparkled with wonder at the way they were accepted,
a lifelong memory was created, the gesture kindled a feeling of oneness.

Narrative
A torch carried on forever, indeed,
for the aggressive rhymer in me,
is alive again, unshackled and freed,
rising to challenge another day, I see.
As I found myself lost deep in Tolkien,
with epic Star Wars, never ending,
surrounded in a geek paradise, serene,
optical illusions before me, suspending.
Life's songs on guitar strings strummed,
an epiphany unlike they've ever heard,
euphoric dreams in my visions hummed,
as I pen archaic word after archaic word.
Artistry is born only to be my brother,
encircled this star, a pentagram made,
my day is done, I have conquered another,
as the sun slowly brings down the shade.

Decades of mystic dreamers have worn the path
trod across the leys, coupling pairs within Stonehenge.
Beneath the Wiltshire skies cornflower blue; they lust,
lotus-eaters, loose-limbed, seeking a blessed outcome.
With longing strides-- they reach, climbing earthen berms
to add their lovers song to move with the cycles.
Some take the blessed day, others wait the pearly moon.
See her so fairy fair dressed in naught but moonlight?
Watch his black-haired beast rise once encircled by her arms.
Back pressed against the dolmens, her heels wreath his waist
as virgin blood runs red like the holly berries
to feed the holy earth, she'll bear his child; she trusts.

EIGHT
A deliberate surprise
A shove from the back
while creating artwork
in my second-grade class
Perhaps an ocean scene
A distant angry memory
of my eight-year-old
consciousness
The broken waxy blue crayon
in my right hand
Before me the ripped orange
construction paper and
a scattered image
Girl bully momentarily
reigned behind me
her face encircled with
frantic spirals….
a golden mane
My neck flashed heat
and then a cold sweat
I challenged her to a fight
In the girl’s bathroom
that day
Pale turquoise tiled walls
screamed at me
as I entered the ring
Staring up I saw a field of wilting flowers….
wads of scrunched up soapy paper towels
hurled up at the ceiling where they clung and
appeared as corpses threatening to fall down
on me at any moment
The pungent thick air of girl
bodies surrounded me….
A hungry lion appeared with
open mouth ready to strike
Tightly wrapped around each other
A blur
A blow to my right side
A second to my stomach
Descending to my knees
catching my breath
Rising up I landed an efforted
blow on her left cheek
An explosion within her wild
starving eyes filled with
superpower magnetism
The pounce
The strike
My body collapsed…
the blue tiles hugging me
Sounds of silence
Distant voices of teacher adults
dispersing the crowd
Inside the small stall
crumpled body crying
on the toilet seat
head on my knees
salty tears cascading
Tasting them now
With armor and shield
bleeding …dented and broken
my heart and soul
rejoiced

There is no hint, that this child of three
Could comprehend..
With his unknowing, smiling face,
With a cowlick in his hair, freckles here and there
Who takes the air from my lungs, at a glance
Skin glistening, pink and rosy from the sun,
As he comes bounding through the door,
Mud on small shoes and face
Not an inkling or a trace..
Of any clue of the pace
How my heart beats,... how it swells
The way my love wraps around
His small body so tightly, that he would gasp.
This adoration that I feel....
But of course, I don't squeeze tightly.
I must hold my love for him
With more restraint,
Keep my arms encircled in a more gentle embrace,
For he wouldn't understand how much love
His sweet presence stirs up the air I breathe
This child, this precious son of my daughter
Will never know the joy
He has brought into my life

Surrounded by tranquil turquoise waters,
Guarded on sides by oceans three,
In the east by the Pacific,
On the south by the Celebes Sea,
And on the west by the south China Sea,
There is an archipelago on the blue water crescent,
A group of islands, called Philippines,
Encircled by a girdle of gleaming silver,
With its shores of stretching sandy swell
That lulls the restless waves to sleep;
A land of green vegetation and terraced terrain!
It houses picturesque and breath-taking views.
Vast beaches of ivory sand sprawl before our eyes
Dolphins leap over seafoam, palm fronds wink
Soft breezes waft and cotton clouds float above.
Anyone will fall in love with these tiny strips of land,
Of rugged hills and meandering rivers
Of placid backwaters and blue skies
Of gibbering monkeys and celestial monarch birds,
Of strutting peacocks, pigeons, pheasants, and parrots.
The powdery white sand of Boracay
The Chocolate Hills of Bohol
The Caraballo Mountain ranges,
And the Cordillera Mountain chain of Luzon,
The Rice Terraces of Philippine Cordilleras
All these give the country a solemn investiture.
Volcanic peaks, standing mighty and tall,
Proudly line the landscape, dotted with dense forests
Where birds sing melodies and Tarsiers with bug eyes
The tiny primates, endemic to the Philippines roam and jump
Amid the slumbering hills, there is fecund soil,
Turned into orchards and plantations,
Its population with perseverance and patience
Work in the soil relentlessly and in unison.
Well known for their hospitality, they receive tourists,
And outsiders with warmth and camaraderie.
In this paradise of mixed fortunes, tragedy comes unforeseen,
In the form of natural calamities like typhoons and cyclones,
But nothing can tear the people apart and they prosper,
With resilience, bent on sustaining their tradition,
Adding value to it each day and proud of an identity of their own
This beautiful land of velvet waves and crystal sands
Lying as a pendant in a crescent of emerald cluster
Rightly deserves the title- the 'Pearl of the Orient'

In chains, did he complain —
this man of sorrows?
He wore his stripes well.
Freedom for all! Freedom for all!
Follow the cross, the bleeding tree.
This holy man, he wept for you and me.
Encircled by snarling beasts —
they mock and strike
like venomous serpents.
Can you hear the cruel heartbeat
of angels who weep?
Follow the cross, the bleeding tree.
This holy man, he wept for you and me.
How vulgar our tongues!
They rage feeling sorry for themselves.
But, look in his loving eyes —
what do you see?
Follow the cross, the bleeding tree.
This holy man, he wept for you and me.
Did he stand before saints?
Did they seek the truth?
Every last one was out for himself.
But this man looked to release,
to relinquish the chains even of kings.
Follow the cross, the bleeding tree.
This holy man, he wept for you and me.
He sees the one in terror, the lonely,
the poor, the sick and lame. He showed
us who can heal all infirmity.
Surprise your dim eyes — lift them up
to the light.
Follow the cross, the bleeding tree.
This holy man, he wept for you and me.
If he returns today, how will he find you, my friend?
Will you bare your teeth or crumble at his feet.
Are you about cursings or blessings?
How do you feel about life and death?
Looking into his eyes, would you dare
to compromise?
Follow the cross, the bleeding tree.
This holy man, he wept for you and me.
Saints are former sinners, under his righteousness not wrath,
wrapped up in a robe of glory, under his glorious wings.
Saints “one another” as in:
love one another,
forgive one another,
do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
Follow the cross, the bleeding tree.
This holy man, he wept for you and me.
Are you caught in a snare of your own making?
Do you judge and stare at the others made in God’s image,
same as you?
Look into his soulful eyes! See the Spirit’s wings!
Follow the cross, the bleeding tree.
This holy man, he wept for you and me.

"Blanket of Stardust Love"
beneath a blanket of stardust, soft melodious refrain
enchants golden moonlight while whispered words of love proclaim
affection and devotion sprinkled with snowflakes in horse drawn carriage
red velvet box tied with silvery bow, proposing lifelong marriage.
as sequined stars illuminate heart pattern of design
in wintry atmosphere pure warmth engaged emotions mine
an aura of sweet ambiance encircled as true turtledoves
caressed by kisses under a blanket of beautiful stardust love.
we pledged our special vows 'neath Summer's canopy twilight
upon a sandy beach in private alcove of joyous delight
through many years of tears and pain of heartache and sharing
your love was ever at my side for comforting and caring.
these golden years have fashioned journies we conquered together
love grows stronger when two blend one even in stormy weather
the depth of feelings increases as tender time rolls by
but in the end, through thick and thin, there remains you and I.
we celebrate our life so grand and thank God everyday
for bringing our paths to collide in His own precious way
in retrospect fond memories radiate love's glow
as stardust hovered over our hearts and started an irreversible flow.

Rhyme
I am naked now, my limbs are bare
A chill blows through me during the night air
No one notices me, children do not climb
I stand still hoping not to lose a branch of mine
No green, no orange, no red I am just grey
This season I do not like because of being this way
Soon the sun will begin to show
My little buds of color start to glow
Encircled by luscious green grass I will be
Seasons are my life, this next one I like.

Personification
While the pale stars shine above
Entering a world beyond dreams
When beauty shines through peaceful harmony
Shadows dance where sweet music stands spellbound
A link of iron our love so strong
Bells inside distant echoes bouncing over oceanic waves
We shall never see the ghosts
Invading purest crystal light encircled
The words are written in white silver
Like a bolt of lightening striking clouds
On a journey of high waves in your hair
Pockets of air within skips kiss every strand
I feel dreams meet you in daylight halfway 's
Starlight across every wing holds strong
Heartbeats inside flames and rhythm will never die
Loving only valentines eternal, breathing sands of time
Everything will be wonderful, as long as you're near
Embraced in sparks destinies fate ever existing romance
The quest is holding on until finding earth,s smitten angel
My heart has found you breathtaking beautiful spirit we fly free

Couplet
The flower opens its chalice
Of tender petals to the sun
Pleasant object of the bee's fun
Making sweet honey in this bliss
Each to know what life brings, a gift.
The lily fears not the outcome
When the time comes to open
And offer the world its essence
It only knows it to be a good one
Pleased even when it is plucked out.
The rose will not open until
It is encircled in sunshine warmth
It dances in the light, a force
Felt to its core, trusting its will
To be a delight, its reason to live.
