Best Ebb Poems
The hungry mouth of misery swallowed me.
In sorrow I walked the edge of a cerulean sea.
Along its shoreline, my wistful eyes have wept.
Tears fell on ebb tide, and away they were swept.
Once my heart held deep within, a joyous glow,
then plunged into darkness, a sad tale of woe.
I felt it beating, waiting to discover love anew,
and a world freshly painted lucent sapphire blue.
I've lain upon the beach never wanting to arise,
watching clouds swiftly flying in clear azure skies
and praised God for creating such a realm of blue,
so radiantly glorious in shades of a Heavenly hue.
If I could label a color that expresses my emotion
it would be a darkling one called, 'Lost Devotion.'
It's terribly heartbreaking when romance expires.
Doused were the passionate flames of love's fires.
When at last I've passed, my salty tears will flow
from clear azure skies to the cerulean sea below.
Moonlight will paint shadows from her indigo skies,
until tears no longer spill from my weeping eyes.
Since a small child, I have been one with Earth,
Green winding tendrils have captured my very heart;
I would follow my father with innocent mirth,
A love for nature and earth was my start.
And into the deep, earthy green we would journey,
I still hike forests and feel the connection;
Meandering I caress the green, mossy and ferny,
I often drop to my knees for a better inspection.
Fallen leaves and flora of the forest decay,
Feeding the soil and make it strong and fertile;
Wildflowers grow reaching and I gather a bouquet,
And hidden in the undergrowth is a turtle.
All in life depends on the earth and its health,
We must all protect what we have for the future;
It is more important than possessions or wealth,
Into the green I go for tranquility to capture.

Reflections across the water draws Gracious
on one pathway of light shimmering crystals speak
In a frozen state of mind held breathless
where listening to the ocean waves crawling kiss
Capturing the seas of imagination as the sun begins setting
crowned by the clouds as she dips down behind the horizon
Paradise becomes lost in the realm of a golden glowing circle
twilight begins to speak of the night's return breath of an ocean whispering
Over and back kissing the sands treading gently
a seagull cries into this distant echo
Blessings from God granted with love and grace
forever grateful whatever we face.
As one is trapped into the Whole Heart Web
self and soul in a ceaseless flow and ebb.
Beauty and beast in fairy tales have peace
tender and tough feelings, no life of ease.
As rocks, into the heart, bring nature’s wealth
flowers magic in prairies not in stealth.
What is in your life a rock and a root
give one's all to merit, the gem, and suit.
Journeys into Life just to taste and Be
growing with Light and bittersweet honey.
As Nabis impassion hearts when they preach
the reed enchants avid souls beyond reach.

EBB TIDE
We’d had an angry tearful spat
Don’t remember over what:
Stormed out of house down to beach.
Needed to clear my mind
For a few moments out of his reach:
Sniff air, breeze, spray - unwind.
Afternoon ebb tide girl -
Slow swash of rollers: break and curl
Of sand-filled muddy-brown swells,
Remnants of soapy foam, scummy rubble,
Shallow rattle of empty shells;
Cold slow plop of pebbles,
Where the furious morning breakers had died
Among the the rising billows’ wet tide,
Assaulting the dry beach,
Hurling mud and packed sand
And hard little stones up the reach
At the cliff beyond the strand.
Sweeping all the gravel over the lee,
On the smooth flat strand the shallow sea
Healed the wet beach: glassy shine -
Clear, cleansed, soothed with balm.
My heelprints filled quick and quiet with brine,
As I turned for home, calm.
How vast and pervasive is the Moon?
Hugeness hints there stand two
Orbs and a turbulent stream
Simply like the dawning sun
All over the half-moon horizon.
On the shore of credulity
The froth shed detritus and sea salt
Carving a path into level sand
Slicing the weft out of silk
By cutting across the fabric kernel
The waves were sealed on the scanty shore
The furor was in harmony with the dust
Pearl-like seaweed and scrubber.
Moonlight over the Sea at Dawn
It is ideal and so spectacularly tempting
The churning water bred white foam
I am enthusiastic to have the plunge
The tendons, sinews, and guts were all wary
A season invests these twilight hours
Fetch the ache and gentleness
Misleading magnetism
My inner mermaid is hopeless
The moon was merely out of the embrace.
It related me to a no-blue world
Spume was kicked by white ponies
As they did in our fourth year of dreams
Cantering toward the welling of time
In the utter stiffness at the two ends
Do not feel dire about shedding tears
The spectrum of the dull light
We never noticed.

Thoughts roll around inside my head
forever churning and turning
like a compost pile for a garden's spread
I miss so many things about writing
those things now long gone
part of my history
Silly lyrics that express a form of emotion
when did this carousel stop turning
and who ate all the cotton candy
There are so many things I wish I could say
over coffee just making small talk about fairs and such
but I do not trust my friends to care
I try to remain loyal to all I know that remains a stone
even though stones do not talk or express emotion
my life is like the sands of the sea
I think next time I shall ride a seahorse
looking into the bright mirrors with candy apple smiles
but I know I will never go to a fair again sand is now, my life
Whipped
by the
raging wind,
white horses ride
the
tide
until
exhausted-
die upon the
shore
Inspired by Winslow Homer's paintings of the American seaboard at Maine
Glittering aqua
Deep hues, light twinkle, shimmer
illumination
As I walk along the sandy shore
And watch the waves go to and fro
To then return and go no more
Yet come again and ebb and flow
The timeless rhythm of the sea
Always will amaze me
That rivers always finds their way to sea
with no maps to guide them as they go
Yet end in the ocean as they flow
Never fails to amaze me
That a monarch butterfly
migrates thousands of miles over land and sea
through windy skies it flutters by
A natural mystery
That always will amaze me

Thrills with amusement
Daily life presents ebb and flow
That peak at the highest point and then hit a plateau
Until the sequence of life episodes fall into place, regaining the composure

The sun rises and sets
tides come in and out
as we look at the past.
Life spins around fast
as we gaze into the past
future and present.
See in amazement
of what has come to light
from our dedication set.
Seasons come and go quickly
as life's change so quickly
from words said awkwardly.
Realitives have passed quickly
and left our heart saddened deeply
but we smile because they
went to be with the holy.
All is the ebb and Flo of life
that we may live give.
In curvaceous shape, hangs the crescent moon,
the ruling force of ebb and flow on ocean tides.
She kindles hearts to seek love and romance.
Rushing to shore on crested waves, she rides,
all around her, stars sparkle in celestial dance.
Her glowing grin illuminates the world below
but in darkness, most of her contour is cloaked.
When we gaze at the ellipse of her golden light,
hopes for a better tomorrow are easily evoked...
belief that everything wrong, will be made right.
Moonlight inspires poets with reason to lift a pen,
and compose verses that acclaim her many phases,
sonnets with idyllic rhyme; couplets of her worth
and lyrics of her beauty. To her we sing our praises
as she circles without rest, our home, planet Earth.
