Tears Fell On Ebb Tide
The hungry mouth of misery swallowed me.
In sorrow I walked the edge of a cerulean sea.
Along its shoreline, my wistful eyes have wept.
Tears fell on ebb tide, and away they were swept.
Once my heart held deep within, a joyous glow,
then plunged into darkness, a sad tale of woe.
I felt it beating, waiting to discover love anew,
and a world freshly painted lucent sapphire blue.
I've lain upon the beach never wanting to arise,
watching clouds swiftly flying in clear azure skies
and praised God for creating such a realm of blue,
so radiantly glorious in shades of a Heavenly hue.
If I could label a color that expresses my emotion
it would be a darkling one called, 'Lost Devotion.'
It's terribly heartbreaking when romance expires.
Doused were the passionate flames of love's fires.
When at last I've passed, my salty tears will flow
from clear azure skies to the cerulean sea below.
Moonlight will paint shadows from her indigo skies,
until tears no longer spill from my weeping eyes.
