Premium Member Letters From Paris

I wrote a letter
With teardrops from my heart
I walk the streets of Antoinette
My mind dances with Baudelaire
Love flutters as the pigeon’s wings on statues
I see them, so close and feel the emptiness
Like the cold stone upon which their wings rest

My wine glass is empty
Then full
Then empty
My veins are red like bloodshot eyes
I am tired
Confessions made
I cried

As I walk across the bridge of god
Over the seine
Notre dame stares back, am I insane?
Have I been alone all this time?
Perdu, in time, perdu inside my wine
Hidden words and lost letters
You shall never see
Tossed thoughts in salad dressings
Away away as the river decides to run

I look back inside black and white photos
How did I become this way
How did I become the stray?
Fallen spirit, burning heart
Completely and utterly torn apart

I stare at the Eiffel tower
A mighty spear, that pierces me
Into the million lovers of gay Paris
Angels weep, pain flows
The blood of time, the blood that becomes the wine
The pain, inside of me
For all the lost letters
Mother and father never did see

Premium Member Heartfelt Thanks

Heartfelt are my thanks for all the blessings
ever flowing in, out and through my life.
I feel fortunate for each go-round with strife
that arrived to design my soul’s truth dressings.

My humbled breath streams awe when I feel His touch
upon my grateful soul, heart, thoughts and actions.
With love, He guides my steps to divine traction
and lifts fear-based, stinking thinking from my clutch.

I am delighted when harmony fills my home
where family memories grow, glow and unfold.
My simple life prospers me more than bars of gold.
My soul greets days with heart-praise wherever I roam.

Premium Member Autumn

How can it be that autumn so soon again is stealthily approaching,
With its pleasing sounds, scents and varied hues steadily encroaching!
The bouquets of summer have faded and their petals they have shed,
Now, the maple and aspen assume their gorgeous robes of gold and red!

Anon, their bare limbs reaching for the heavens as if in supplication,
Will be adorned with garlands of snow to enhance their decoration.
The haunting honks of geese is heard as they flee the cold and snow,
Guided by The Master Compass from whence they come and whither they go!

Old Harvest Moon hanging from the ebony sky will emit its mellow glow,
Providing perfect ambiance for lovers strolling hand in hand below!
Happy revelers will enjoy hayrides, marshmallow and wiener roasts,
Lounging about glowing fires spinning tales of spooky goblins and ghosts!

Soon, hordes of pirates, witches and fairies will be prowling the streets,
And stopping by to make their annual plea for Halloween treats!
Thanksgiving Day is on the horizon, a day set aside for counting our blessings.
With tables laden with green bean casseroles and turkey and its dressings!

A special day to honor and thank our Valiant Veterans will also be observed,
And to remember and thank their supportive families for they also served.
I can say without hesitation that autumn is my favorite season of the year,
And since I am in the autumn of my years, I especially hold it dear!

Her Poetry

in all it's utter wonderment
i under imaginary pretence
a nocturnal creature stalking images
of the one my readings have made

but prosperity is her blessing
and princess clothings are her dressings
making her far above poor me

my prayer was for conformanity
but so far it was for naught
constant prayers God forgot
yet tis me who this misery
is brought
the times for her i've often sought
i stare in the distance at her walk

the nonchalant way she waves her hands
walking pretending to lead
a parade and band
spreading a happiness so contagious
it brighten the hopes
of a certian man

at time's i walk near her
for an innocent parle
praying that my pulsating heart
does'nt give me away
Dr. Cupid recomends
one dose a day
the eyes that let you see the soul
the lips that could never ever grow cold
of the rhythem and tenderness
of her voice

a representation of God's annointed choice
giving to man a gift of love
for we all share her
with eyes and ears

back to the parle
"How are you today?"
"Fine."
"It's a beautiful day."
"This dreary rainy day?"
"Yeah, I love rainy weather."
truth is there was no weather
as far as i was concerned
my only concern
"is Sandra there?"
"was Alexandra going to be there?"
i've been lot's of places
thinking she'd be there
saddened to find out
she was not

in all it's utter wonderment
and my imaginary pretence
a peasant loving a princess
at best
eyes and imagination
secretly blessed

Suicide Salads

I walk along the river banks
Whether is the raven’s moon
Or the midnight sun
Doesn’t change the dimensions
That here I walk alone

When I walk past the store
For Louane cher I open the door
Her smile is enticing, so sweet
My suicide will be the later treat

They will look inside my fridge
Lettuce and dressings
Encumbered by cucumbers both fresh and raw
The salad will proclaim life is tall

I went to the club, an all night affair
Danced with all the suicide dolls
They moved their feet, and seductive hips swagged
Sadly who cares my life is a drag

Secrets and salads
Suicide with a fine oiled dressing
Guess I shall miss the next wedding
When you all stare at my recent beheading

Head of lettuce
Death in a salad bowel
This world is a rabbit hole
Riddles and fiddles

Be this the death of me
I am the salad long set free

Notes: For some the world is a world of hope
Others a world of despair
These two abstract concepts always in battle
New and old
Happy and sad
Good and bad
The sadness creeps in
Youth brings back the smiles
Age the cry for peace
Even when this means
Taking ones last breath

Melanesian Arts Festival

We wore our meri blouses
And on stilts built our houses…
We carried our bilums so beautiful
And custom dressings so very colourful.

We wore our island dresses
And displayed our art in richness…
We played our native string-band
And drew creative designs on sand.

We wore our dark sulus
And brown costumes not too loose…
We had high standards of fashion sense
And portrayed our crafts so immense.

We wore our shell necklaces
And a smile on our pretty faces…
We proudly exhibited our pan-piping
And were famous for our musical singing.

We wore our Caledonian dresses
And straw hats with leaves of freshness…
We spoke in our native francophone
And laid out our valuable money in stone.

So much vast diversity in culture
And numerous traditions needing nurture…
So much customs unique in many ways
Being revived and exposed these 14 days.
Though we were faced with many challenges
We have overcome for much further voyages…
PNG, Vanuatu, Fiji, Solomon & New Caledonia –
Still one and still celebrating the values and spirit of our Melanesia.

Money Is Not the God That I Serve

money is not the god that I serve
for faith in the Lord God is not graded on the curve
God is not concerned with man's window dressings
and He doesn't give a damn about what the world finds impressing
just trust in Him and he will give you an abundance of blessings
and your soul He will preserve

money is not the god that I desire
for Father God will give me all that I will require
He looks into the minds and hearts of every man
He wants us to live by the spirit of His commands
and once you become a part of His master plan
the Holy Spirit you will then acquire

money is not the god that I need to develop a relationship
for only through Jesus Christ will I have passage on that heaven-bound ship
and with only a mustard seed of faith
I will be entering through God's pearly gates
and so joyful that I can hardly wait
for my soul will have had such a great trip

Premium Member Turkey Talk

I try to make myself very scarce midst the teeming flock,
To reduce the risk of finding my neck on the chopping block!
Why do you put me through this annual frightful scare?
I pray that I won't become your Thanksgiving fare!

May I propose for your very careful consideration,
An assortment of options for your holiday celebration.
Have you considered a delicious rack of lamb,
Or a scrumptious glazed and juicy spiral ham!

You could save my friends and me so much grief,
If only you'd serve a luscious roast of beef!
As you thank the good Lord for your many blessings,
Wouldn't you prefer a goose stuffed with dressings!

An adjunct to your cranberry sauce and pecan pie,
Could be a savory duck - why not give that a try?
Another suggestion that would please your friends,
Would be to prepare a platter of Rock Cornish hens!

There are many creatures that swim, run or fly,
That could complement your taters and punkin pie!
Better yet, why not concoct a vegetarian meal,
Then, I could forego my urgent annual appeal!

Love Spill

I fell this morning-
Stumbled over fear, surrender my bitter dressings
Kissing the distance of sanity
Defying gravity
Levitating toward the inevitable

Plunging into the comfort of solace fed into my spirit as joy becomes mine
Shoulders lightened
Released the burdens.
Unclogged empty spaces looking to fill lonesome nights with conversations
Extended one time moments to last
Lapsing into the disease of love
Nestle this heart in loyalty.
Faithful to the thought

I fell this morning-
Hit the snooze button to return to the passion jump starting my heart.
Misstepped through the possibility that a frozen heart could melt for carmel skin tones and baritones cadences.
Opening the potential of waking up to you til death due us bonded together forever.

I fell this afternoon-
Watched my tears stain satin pillowcases as you become my questioned tomorrow.
I slipped And stumbled over the misunderstanding right into love's possibilities.
What if I told you I fell in love with you this morning.

Bullet Holes

Taylor Swift said "band-aids don't fix bullet holes"
And swiftly i wanted to say, Taylor,
        Do you know?
How deeply painful those cuts can be
Do you know that sometimes the pain is too much
          You are left numb
Not even the strongest salt on the wound
          Can feel a thing?
And maybe just covering it with a band-aid just for the sake of it is the only cure
But again, i thought how could she sing it if she didn't know it

I remember mommy's awesome touch just like it was today
Those rough days of scabs and tears
Those daring days of scratches and bruises
She always knew the right words to say
She always had a store full of therapy
I always got better, i always felt better

But waking up nowadays in the mornings full of heartbreaks
And going to sleep with dreams full of heartache
Has left me lost and torn
I just want to cover it all with band-aids or even surgical dressings
And pretend i can't feel it
And pretend i can't see it
And pretend am not it

But when the wound starts oozing beyond the coverings
Am left to suffer more recovering..

Warmth of Feeling

Fair lady be not austere,
Adorn thyself with rich dressings,
Take care thy salad days gone afore,
Where thou ballet with twist and zealing.
Mayhap just one, i should hope,
Oft would burst forth such soft light,
Basking in such besottedness, par amour.
Salvaged from th' ravages of thy plight.
Lackaday, too many held too frail,
Now no more to nurse and thrill.
Ifsoever thy come forth willing,
Come prepared not, come undone,
Revel in this warmth of feeling,
For th' good of lovers; prithee, just one.

SAMIRA

Samira,
The beauty of 3 arts
General with elegance,
Enigma without resemblance
You should have called
Before you left this earth,
Cousin to Maryam, owner of
My heart.
Ha Samira believer of Mosha
I loved your dressings during
Socials,
I recollect the afternoon you
Said I should never be sober,
I wish I saw death hanging on
Your shoulders,
Tell me why tears shouldn't be
My roster?
Too early call, no reason to
Rejoice
I now fear this air
I don't know when she will stop
Been my friend,
Keep me among the dead
Everyone has a place of rest.
No ceremony for the dead.
Rest Samira Jibril.
