When I Leave this World

When I leave this world
It won’t be silently
NO, I will leave behind a note
A note of reproach
For the sin of humanity
In the inability to feel with…to feel for
To truly love
Another human being
Who has the curse of being….
Different

When I leave this world
My words I’ll behind
To a world that was unkind
To a world that only loved
Cookie cutter shapes and sizes
A world with a status quo
That couldn’t be tampered with
A world that embraced
The lovely
The beautiful
The happy….oh the happy
Those with perpetual smiles
With lilting voices of angels
And with beauty of the ages
Those worthy of love
Serene angelic doves
Who never felt despair
But were always bright and fair

When I leave this world
I will leave behind
A legacy for those
Who were unloved
Who didn’t have sound minds
Who struggled along the way
Who tried to be beautiful
Who tried to smile
Through ripped and aching hearts
Who tried to stay afloat
When others would just gloat
Those who tried to be brave
But longed for the grave
To those I will say
“You are beautiful
You are worthy
You are precious
You are priceless
Your mind though tormented
Is full of beautiful treasure
Don’t blame yourself
For not being able to fit
In this selfish and crazy world
You are not a misfit
The world is unable
To make itself fit
To the dazzling beauty of you
So, just do what it takes
Just do what it takes
To get through the pain
To get to tomorrow
Maybe, maybe
You’ll hear my voice
Whisper to you in the breeze
Telling you to make the world
A better place
A more caring place
Because of YOU!"

You Will Know Love

If you can make it through the day
Not concerned with what others say
If you can take the time to play
Yet get your work done come what may
If you win having never fought
And mend the bridges time has tore
Or be content with what you’ve got
And very rarely ask for more;

If you can make a house a home
And properly raise children too
If you can stay and never roam
And do it cause it’s what you do
If you can speak bad of no one
Cause gossip's not worth repeating
Or stick to a task till it’s done
And never think of retreating;

If you can keep your life savings
And not risk it on a gamble
And avoid expensive cravings
And allow your friends to ramble
If you can force yourself to cope
And do what it takes to survive
And live on little more than hope
And the will which keeps you alive;

If you can hold your head up high
Or stoop to help the poor and such
If you seek truth and not a lie
If you can heal with but a touch
If you can be mother and wife
And still find time for God above
Yours is the Earth and a good life
And what is more, you will know love!

Difference

5/20/17

Consider this
Trying to make a difference
Instead of showing ignorance

Regardless of if we're able to relate
I'm willing to do what it takes
Instead of letting it all go to waste

No sense of entitlement
Just after enlightenment
And to help the environment
Even after retirement

Open to suggestions
In all directions
Paying attention
With much more than good intentions
Call it one form of self expression

One thing for certain and proven
I'm only human
Yet still trying to make my contribution
Near and far from fields of lupin

I want you to know

I know a girl more broken than the aftermath of a bull in a china shop. She knows that her pain wont stop, so instead of trying to fix that, she only ever tries to make others happy. She puts everyone above herself and if life was a shelf shed be the ground. The most common sound escaping her lips is sorry. She cries herself to sleep every night, she has cuts on her arms as if too tally up all the hate she receives daily and if she could pay the bills in blood she would be able to afford a living. Lately all she's been doing is forgiving.

	I want you to know that it's always darkest before the dawn, so if you have to wait another hour for the sun to rise, I will sit beside you with a watch and a red bull the size that two people need to keep them up just long enough to fall asleep together. If the weather is on our side or not, I will stay just to make sure you know you stay up long enough for that sun to rise. It's not a surprise when it does, and if it means you've gone a day without painting in blood, I will do what it takes to keep you from it another day. I suppose what I mean to say is;

Put it down. Just pretend its not there; let it disappear into thin air without a hair of a trace, because all it ever does is hurt you. those cuts mark the scars of your pain that will never fade. Cut into your skin, you don't remember the beginning, but you can find the end. Send a message to all the people that made you start, you're a work of art that just has a splatter; it doesn't matter, you can paint over it. Just sit down and look around you. You've built so many walls. You're trapped in a labyrinth made to keep people out but in turn you've locked yourself in. You can't climb the walls, all you hear is the echoed calls of your pain.

If you search for a while, maybe you'll find another face trapped in their own maze and you'll both smile; because it's comforting to know that you're not alone. Maybe that person you meet can give you a boost over your wall so you land feet first in grass. You don't need to ask, they're still there; trapped in the maze. Its sad how the price of happiness is almost always someone else's pain.

Living a Pipe Dream

A living tree has been planted to symbolize a life which has taken snuffed out, slained
in his prime.Detectives haven't solved the crime.Future basketball star where are you now
heaven or purgatory.Your soul needs to rest,shooting hoops,doing lay-ups sweating,running
passing stop,go dribble, dribble, stop! screech, halt!. Running the back streets on the
late night tip trying to survive on the wrong side of town, travel, stop, play offense
is weaken only to live a hyped pipe dream, his defense is down and he knows they have
come to gun him down so he decided to run to the other side of town.Do what it takes to
become a superstar on to lose his soul. Everyone asked was he in the dope game no one
really knows living lies that didn't get him far only to live a false pipe dream. Was
he playing the role of a double life to eventually be "X" out of the game no one really
knows his soul still lingers in death park. Listen it is late, it is dark neighbors
continue to mourn the ball player's lost.Neighbors can still hear the basketball hitting
the back board in death park.

A Birthday

A birthday is always a special day
A day that comes round each year
Celebrate it and surround yourself
With loved ones far and near

This day doesn't only resemble your birth
It's also a day to enjoy
The fact your living alive with life
Every man, woman, girl and boy

As you get older you start to know
The things life has in store for you
Make every effort count in life
See your journey in life through

Don't let no joy be taken away
From you as you walk each day
Knowing that theres a purpose for something
In your life so to you I say

Challenge the impossible for nothing in life is
Speak out to those who care to hear
Where there is a roadblock theres always a passage
Battle through it year after year

Time is ticking the hour is unknown
Be wise stay encouraged and be strong
Do what it takes to make your ends meet
In this life that seems so long

Happy Birthday to all who shares this day
May this message bring warmth to your heart
Make a wish for the moment and stick with it
For everyday is a fresh new start.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Pittsburgh Steelers.
Here you come on the field.
Ready to make all other plays yield.
Do what it takes to prove who’s the big deal.
Let them know who’s for real.
All your mighty power as a team.
Coming up with all sorts of intelligent schemes.
Fun filling your NFL dreams.
Coming out the big winners.
Showing you’re not the ones who are beginners.
And forever more rule as champions.
Even against big and mighty players.
That may come crashing your way.
You show them who’s boss each and every day.
Go Steelers Go!
Show the world who rules the football world!

VA DEATH WAITING LIST - Update - from original post 05-15-14 Shinseki Resigns - Actually Fired

Below is my original post from 2 weeks ago, President Obama has
announced that VA Secretary Shinseki has resigned "voluntarily" from
his position, but let's face the fact the President fired him behind closed doors
so that Shinseki could save face and save Obama from more embarrassment.
Yet, this resignation does not relieve the President from his personal responsibility
for the deaths of these veterans, and in his statements today he did not personally
apologize and ask forgiveness from the families of the dead veterans, this whole situation is criminal, instead, he just railed on about how
wonderful Shinseki was, how much more disgusting can this get? Obama thinks he can just fire the Captain of the sinking ship
and everything will be OK? These crimes against veterans have been blatantly ignored for over 5 years now, and when it comes down to
who is ultimately responsible? Well, Mr. Commander-In-Chief, as Harry Truman said "the buck stops at the President's desk", so you need
only to look in the mirror to see who needs to accept full responsibility for this tragic VA disaster! Mr. President, as you know, my father Albin was President for 36 years of the California AFL-CIO, and before he passed away in 2009 he was a big supporter of your 2008 Presidential Campaign, and I can tell you now, he would be so disappointed with you on this VA debacle. He was not just my father, he was my best friend, and one of the finest human beings I have ever known, let alone probably the greatest champion of all workers in the USA and the world, and I know he would ask you now to take immediate and decisive action to prevent anymore of these terrible acts of neglect to our brave veteran heroes!

Very truly yours,

Robert William Gruhn

Well, Mr. President, its time to fire your VA chief and apologize for this failure.
These brave veterans have been allowed to die needlessly while on your watch.
You need to get a spine and do what it takes to save any more VETS from this horror.
So, Mr. Commander in Chief Obama, please show us you truly are our LEADER.

What

*This poem was written when I was seven years old... pretty good for a seven year old, eh?

Beyond the Earth's crust
lies what all desire always.
I'll do what it takes.

Reach doesn't matter.
As I long as I can possess
the key to the box.

I'm a bitch

I'm a bitch!
I'm a bastard!
But that is who I am
A paradox of virtues criss-crossed with elements of brokenness...

I have become what I have feared,
indifferent and disillusioned...
a man full of pain
let down by those that he thought were close
surprised by those that he thought didn't care...

The road that winds ahead is not an easy one,
the constant fear that my humanity can be changed in an instant...
a freakish second that can make or break me -
that can cause untold damage
but still I continue....

To fight and claw my way to sanity -
to be the man I want to be
but...
don't write me off yet, I will do what it takes to become me again!

I cannot - will not tolerate fools
those insipid ones that constantly want to break you down with their uselessness...

I need to surround myself with the positive light and love of those that know, care and understand -
My health depends on it!

Complicated

You know what sort of intrigues me,
What I find is just a tiny bit cheesy?
It’s when someone asks you, in one word,
To accurately describe him or her.

Have you ever asked this?
I have in the past, yes, I confess
Then I think about it now, and how absurd it is
Feel free to disagree, it’s not my business…

See, a human being is not like a doll
In which one word, its trademark, can sum it all
You cannot expect someone to know you
When you yourself have no clue.

When you look to the unseen, take closer looks:
Describing you would take tens of books
If you took the time and contemplated
You would see that you are, in fact, quite complicated.

You might smile and laugh, while despairing inside
You might eagerly socialize when you just want to hide
You could act humble and noble while your ego really swells
You may look focused and concerned while your thoughts away dwell.

You might’ve once felt doubt, yet people admired you
So you convinced yourself you’re on the right path, too
You don’t need to think, cuz they do the thinking for you
Of your own intentions, you really don’t have a clue.

You’re probably wondering where I’m going with this
Or if I’m going anywhere at all in this reminisce
Truth of the matter is, I’m just Aya Salah: one with a knack
To spill her thoughts on paper when her brain jam-packs.

See, we all have our flaws, we all make mistakes
It takes courage to face them, to do what it takes
For how will one recognize them, to erase and step forward
If one doesn’t know where he is in his own little world?

Do your words portray a distant reality
That doesn’t quite fit your personality?
Or does your heart display different emotions
Than what you claim to feel as you go through the motions?

And yet we ask of others, outsiders of our souls
To put a word, a label to ourselves, that enhance our egos
As if their approval is all that we need and miss
Because really, no one expects their friends to answer with a diss.

I’m rambling on as usual, with no purpose in mind
So I’ll end with a few wise words of mine:
When asked to be described in one word, it’s best stated:
“You and me both… we’re complicated.”

Why Doesn't She Smile

Excuse me. I seen you standing by wondering if you have a smile that I can borrow.
I mean you never know you might not even be here tomorrow.
I've seen you with drama and all your ex's but dry your eyes they're not nothing but lessons.
God is only molding you to get you ready for your blessing.
But you thinking all guys are the same.
He ain't nothing but different player but its still the same game.
Now how can somebody love you with that mentality and that frown.
You need to smile more because you're to beautiful to be down, not knowing one day a king will catch your crown.
And be willing enough to be like B.O.P and hol' it down.
See now look at that smile, keep your head up and stop living with sorrow because you never know you may not even be here tomorrow.
I know he played you baby girl don't put the blame on yourself, because he threw away a diamond for rock, don't put that blame on yourself.
You're beautiful and smart, that's all facts.
Now you afraid of love and afraid to show it back.
And have this wall built around you but please hear what I'm speaking.
Real NIGGAS will break your heart Real MEN will pick up the pieces.
Cut the bullshit aside and make your time worth while.
Do what it takes to make you feel optimistic and to always make you smile.
Is what I've been searching for so stop mopping in sorrow, because you never know you may not even be here tomorrow.
I know he put his hands on you but truth be told he's not a man. It was long storm you went through with a couple scars but be glad.
Out the old in the new.
Any body would be crazy for passing up on you.
A mans hands is used for comfort for a woman's stress.
A man always wants his woman to strive for the best.
 Yes.
Those man still exist so smile baby girl.
Have hope and stop living with sorrow, because you never know you may not even be here tomorrow.

She stands strong

Long hair flows down
a copper colour that shines like gold in the setting sun
she's tall with golden skin
and bright blue eyes the colour of the water
that flows in the rivers around her
strong that's how to describe her
strong of mind and body
she will always do what it takes
to ensure the saftey of those around her
though she has no special gifts
she has power to know the difference
between right and wrong
she stands strong over those she watches
straight faced and calm, waiting, watching over
she is strong she is brave
she is me

Wounded Warrior

Brave Warrior
With me you can set your armor aside
For I have proven worthy, I am bona fide
Our painful past, together we’ll conquer and divide
We’ll bury the bottles filled with all the tears that we’ve cried

 Wounded Warrior
Please put down your sword and shield
Expose to me all your scars and heart concealed
I’ll hold sacred and accord dignity to all that you revealed
Hand in hand, we’ll do what it takes to be completely healed

 Protective Warrior
Rest your weary tortured body next to mine
I will nurture you and love you if you feel so inclined
Safe in my arms, you’ll experience the peace for us designed
Together we’ll make our own world and what love is we will redefine

Love

Now A' days. Sex is easier to get but love is harder to find.
But whoever said love was easy to find its like looking for a needle in a haystack.
Matter fact its like looking for Waldo at a candy cane factory.
Girls in my generation and under are flashing their palms and middle fingers to mens faces,
Saying "forget love" this and "I don't need a man that" but deep down inside they want it
More than anything, its just that they're afraid. Afraid of being hurt again. Afraid of crying again,
Being broken hearted. But baby if you let me you won't get nothing but the best out of me.
And slowly everyday I will nurture and heal your heart. A wise man once taught me that,
A womens body is Gods gift of perfection, but her love will always come with expectation.
And love isn't easy to find but once you find it, it'll be worth all the wait and the pain. You
Finally have that special someone. Someone that wants to make you happy instead of put you down.
Someone that understands your past, but wants to brighter your future, which is now our future.
And I'm not perfect and that only makes me human but if you let me inside your heart I promise I will not leave.
I promise I'll do what it takes to make you smile and feel loved.
I promise I'll be worth the wait, just like when I was waiting on you.
All you have to do is trust and let me love.
You.
If someone cares for your heart let them inside because love is colorless and blind.
And its never easy to find

PAUL

Such a beautiful person
In such deep pain
His face disfigured
In a violent game

He hides from the world
Doesn’t want to be seen
His story is a sad one
From places his been

Take courage my friend
Leave the pass right behind
Your futures in front
Just follow the signs

And play your piano
Your music’s so good
My soul it did lighten
Right here where I stood

Take back the life force
That is always yours
You are a good person
Of that I am sure

Don’t let the world ruin you
Or sadden you more
Hang on with both hands
It’s not right that you’re sore

Do what it takes
If need be, alone
Take back your power
Don’t turn to stone

Take my hand if you need to
I am your friend
Maybe together
We can help your world bend

You seem fragile and frightened
Don’t know what to do
Your life is your own
It’s all up to you

Leave your anger behind you
It’s done so much harm
You can’t walk on straight forward
With those chains right behind

I’ll help you my friend
I’ll do what I can
Its hurts me to see you
In all this, so much pain

So remember dear Paul
And remember it well
You have your own choices
Get out of your hell.

"THE GIRL WHO : JUST PUSHED PLAY"(ode to Aerosmith music)

Well, this giddy little girl was tired of the SAME OLD SONG AND DANCE; she said I gotta get
rid of the MONKEY ON MY BACK, and find someone to TAKE ME TO THE OTHERSIDE...where
KINGS AND QUEENS are LIVIN ON THE EDGE...So I can taste the SWEET EMOTION,..learn
how to DRAW THE LINE and LET THE MUSIC DO THE TALKING...

So, as she started on her PERMANENT VACATION the idea was to KISS HER PAST
GOODBYE....though it was NOBODY'S FAULT she knew she had to FLY AWAY FROM HERE...

The LAST CHILD of a bunch counting five, she had to do WHAT IT TAKES to stay alive...So
with just a LICK AND A PROMISE and her LIGHT INSIDE she WALKED ON DOWN with a
THREE MILE SMILE.

She came upon a BLIND MAN they call UNCLE SALTY who saw her CRYIN and said I'll show
you the way to your MAMA KIN... as they traveled on she began to CHIP AWAY THE
STONE...and put all her SEASONS OF WITHER behind her.

Finally arriving to find MOTHER POPCORN who blessed her with this sound advice:

Take the long path my JADED one, past the HANGMAN JURY and down to the FARM...WALK
ON WATER and realize that there is NO SUPRISE... though there may be RATS IN THE
CELLAR there is always CHEESE CAKE in your eyes.

Now she rides the TRAIN THAT KEEPS ROLLIN with the LORD OF THE THIGHS hoping they
can COME TOGETHER in the SUNSHINE of the MOVIE and DREAM ON here inside their
AVANT GARDEN !

Find Your Balance

Sometimes we need to slow down, take a pull and check,
The life we are living is it building us up,or slowly turning us into a wreck,
Check your mind,body and soul,check,check,check,
What are you doing right, what are you doing wrong, time to move forward or time to side step,,,
The physical you is prone to make mistakes,
Pushing you to move quickly,go ahead without caution,do what it takes,
But the spiritual you will guide and protect you,a little gas,a little brakes,
G.P.S taking you through the curves and ditches in life, safely taking you to the heights of clouds, never letting you fall like flakes,,,(C)

Sobriety

EatWutUKill, real name's Tevin
I have something called panic disorder and manic depression
Nothing could cope me, not even the medications and therapy sessions
Only made the situation worst, as these prescriptions became my addiction
In bed tossing and turning, my blood's itching as I sit up stressing
If poetry is my blessing, then my curse has to be drug abusing
Cause Klonopins and Oxycontin's been on my mind very often
The more I take these pills, the more I develop characteristics of Satan
Goblins and Gremlins crawling around in my cranium
Now plagued with self-loathing, I don't even like my own reflection
Hallucinations,
I can hear my pets talking, so paranoid, I'm not even the same person
The lights are on, but ain't nobody home, why, I've become so lonesome
It's like revving up the engine and going nowhere, unable to perform my daily functions
I need to stop my addiction, these pills, these medications asap, perhaps
Cause with such a addictive personality,
Hopefully I'll turn my hobbies into my therapy such as writing poetry
Then hope for the best and do what it takes so I won't relapse so my heart won't collapse
If I don't, bright lights fade to black
Instant panic attack

Do what it takes

Inspired by "Where you come
from" instrumental.
Cats & Dogs record by Evidence
of Dilated Peoples.

Some dream of nine digit
account in a bank,
I take the music & do what it
takes,
Some just rely blindly on their
fate,
He play the hand with the cards
right & raise the stakes.

Precision is the detail that's
making a difference,
A long term investment to
cover the distance,
With the right vision one
doesn't need the guidance,
We just keep moving with our
past left behind us.

Paths cross we collide with a
blast on the impact,
With whatever's left we ride to
the sunset,
Pursuing our dreams, pursuing
our goals,
Some got plenty. He got the
one that he chose.

It's the one & only thing to
make him happy,
That's why he does all it takes
to make it happen,
Letter by letter he just goes
note by note,
Interpreting the music with the
words worth to quote.

Some dream of being praised &
accolades,
I take the music, do what it
takes,
Some choose to blah blah & go
for debates,
He got the courage speaking
his thoughts face to face.

Integrity's the key core
component,
If you got it, you got respect
among the opponents,
If you rotten inside your head,
rotten inside your heart,
You plotting your little
schemes, watching em fall
apart,

Go sharpen your little teeth, try
to rip out a piece of me,
Blood is a deadly poison, rest in
a grave peacefully,
Thought of "Why so?" But it still
remains mystery,
Whiskey quiets voices in the
head "Quit whispering"

One and only goal worth your
time. Don't forget!
Every single voice agrees on
that, inside the head!
The maverick. Alcoholic
beverage in a teetotaler's
throat
Interpreting the music with the
words worth to quote.

Full Of Bull

9/3/17

You are full of bull
Trying to pull the wool
Over eyes, so you can have control
That is dull
Must've sold your soul
For gold and coal
I laugh at those who troll
Time I droll
Taking a stroll
Staying on a roll
Like your skull
When I bowl
Getting back what others stole

Just want to hate
Toward you, I can't relate
Look you in your face
Knock you out of your place
Continuing the race
Still big bills to chase
Can't waste
Any time, got to move with haste
Picking up the pace
With peculiar taste
Don't need a break
Or rely on faith
Willing to do what it takes
No matter the stakes
Toward something great
No matter if not all appreciate

Change in Life

  CHANGE IN LIFE

Everybody needs a change in life
Everybody needs to think twice
Everyone who's around
Everyone that you see
We are all in bound
To have to change to see clearly
Life won't change unless you change
Things won't go by unless you go by

A change in life could mean possibilities
More open doors and responsibilities
Hoping to ignore what cannot be
Joking towards the lord on a canopy
Life needs changes and I think it's respect
Respect will change life and no one will object
Changes in life is such a natural way
Instead of walking away
Your going to want to stay

Changes happen round and round
Make sure that in life
Your not the rebound
Step up to the plate and take on respect
So no one will see you as the one to disrespect
Do what you have to do to make your way through
Do what it takes to always remain true
Make sure it happens day in and out
Without a doubt and all the way through

Changes in life is about understanding things
Changes in life is growing out of things
Changes in life is an obsessive thing for me
I can't see going without changing
It is important to me
Grow mature and a little bit older
But as I get older I feel a little colder
I want to be old and happy
Not like a soldier

It Works

Those leather pants fit perfectly
Against your skin. I can’t stop
Staring; You can’t stop teasing -
It keeps me up all night,
Struggling to

Keep shouting.
Nothing is resolved when you slam
The bedroom door - Don’t sleep
Angry. You know I hate it when you

Surprise me in the shower and
Turn the screws until I
Can’t even think. All the blood
Rushes to my head when I
Clutch the curtain – you know
I am there.
I see you see me as I

Hope we won’t wake up bitter in the morning,
Casting those cross couch glances and
Judging. Your eyes are killer

Aphrodisiacs, constantly seducing me
Like that time I had to
Pin you in the grass.
As the rain came down I kissed
Your lips and cradled you.
I can still close my eyes and hear you whisper

“You’ve left the toilet seat up again,”
I tell you that I’m sorry but we both know
In the dim light of the television set
I am barely listening.
You smile and shake your head,
For therein lies a flaw you choose to live with.
You swear, one of these days you are going to

Turn off the light and kiss
Every inch of my body
In honor of my being me,
And in honor of your being you,
I will return the favor.
Afterward, we’ll lie in love,
Smiling in a comfortable silence

Like the uncomfortable silences
At the ends of those trivial arguments
You start yet can’t finish.
There is no retort for my abashing.
You say you’re sorry but we both know
That you don’t really mean it,
So I make sacrifices I choose to live with.
I swear one of these days I am going to

Cook the most wonderful meal,
The kind where silence is a compliment
Ending with content smiles,

Doing the dishes,
Cursing at new shirt stains and small cuts
From knives hidden under soap water

Although
We don’t really mind the healing process.
I sleep and think, Tomorrow
I should walk to the jewelry store and look over
Diamonds, as I think of our
Long nights, walking through lit up old villages
Cuddling on the couch in the television light
Drunkenly kissing beside bonfires
Sharing friends and glances
And love and life for good or for worse,
Carrying the same heart.

I can always push that button
That has you turn me on,
Be it a laugh, a smile, a sting, or a bite.
We do what it takes to make us happy
And it works,
Especially when you put on
Those leather pants.

One Last Rhyme

You are my light within the dark
When all is grey and all is stark
You are the sun within the rain
Your love takes away my pain

I’ve never before felt so alive
Until the day that you arrived
I’ve never had feelings quite like this
In your tender arms and your sweet kiss

Your golden hair and your sea-blue eyes
When you smile, my heart flies
Your beauty is beyond compare
When I see you, I can’t help but stare

Your love is deep and your love is true
How did I find someone like you?
Your love is more than I deserve
I’ll do what it takes for this love to preserve

You pulled me from my deepest depths
Many days alone for which I wept
I was sad and I was blue
Until the day that I met you

Your touch is magic; it heals my wounds
I need you like the sun and moon
In my heart is where you reside
And I never want to leave your side

In your love I want to hide
From all the pain I feel inside
Can you heal me one last time?
For one last moment; one last rhyme
