Serenity Of Blue

As in our rivers' varied tints of blues,
the color blends are peaceful and serene,
in ripples of reflective color hues
that mirror mix of sky and hills of green.

Yet, 'midst the flowers in our fields that grow,
real blue in blooms is very scarce indeed.
The few we see will thrill us with their show;
   Delphiniums or blue wildflower weeds.

And too, in foods the color blue is rare
most fruits display a color that attracts,
like tangerine, red apple, plum, and pear;
somehow the color blue in food detracts.

So nature gifts us blues in soft sky blue
reflected in her rivers, lakes or seas.
Though rarest of earth colors, it is true,
serenity of blue will always please.

Just Trying...

So here’s the deal:
I’m completely pissed off, but not really-
Really I’m heartbroken and just trying to breathe through the ache in my chest,
But that really has nothing to do with what’s going on does it.
This is ridiculous. I hate it. It’s not something I can just fix.
If I could make him forget just by kissing him stupid I would.
However, this is a bit too raw for that.
It’s like when your fave song comes on and you’re voice begins to break near the end
 because you’re holding back tears.
Nothing really detracts from that feeling of complete abandon. That’s true for love on both
ends.
Passion when you’re together, battering desperate aching when you’re not.

Now, I enjoy pain. I enjoy the sharp, sweet edge.
I don’t enjoy this mind numbing pounding. Like my body is being pulled inside out.
There is no tearing, no ripping, no cutting, no sharp. Just dull, stretching emptiness.
There is no joy in that.
Only the true masochist in me finds something in this.
I don’t like dwelling on that part of me.
I’d rather be sharp. Like when you’re cut by a knife so sharp that it takes a minute for your
body to register it as pain.
Sharp. Sweet. Sinfully simple.
Love.

This isn’t what I signed up for. But then, what is?
I love you.
That doesn’t really matter.
Does it.

Bubble Love

Live within senses
Love within faith
Fight within boundaries
Smile without hate.

Breathe with your voice
Sleep with your strength
Laugh with your humor
Cry at arm's length.

Melt within memories
Think without facts
Yearn with just heart
Dismiss what detracts

Lean with no shoulder
Kiss with no touch
Make fun without hurt
Carry as a clutch.

Speak without words
Connect without dots
Collide without losing
Our unique mystery knots.

Wonder without reason
Curious without ties
Protecting without proof
Falling from just eyes.

Intertwined without reason
Blooms without wilt
Tugging without doubting
Needing without guilt.

Are we there yet?

Dark isn't; yet the night..!

 Black though; desires are.."

Deeper shaded than perceptions..

Illusions alluding; pretending unto inclusion

Despite the truth precluding..

Yet there we are..!

in the title of this write; but as we know I could not, so I had
to do a repeat title on the poem page I think it detracts from the write though.."

Killer Within

It is personal....devouring, you can never get enough; draining individual's of their lifeblood bit by bit. You don't just come out at night you feed all day long, gorging yourself on every morsel, taking full delight, till your helpless victim is rendered powerless under your might. Nothing it seems can stop your onslaught, craving more and more attention you bury deeper and deeper until he/she is hardly recognizable amongst the remnants, of who they once were.

Still warm to touch, decaying within you weave your complexities, depression and anxiety it is horrible to see. The rain falls hard and cold unspeakable suffering.....isolated, loosing touch with reality and irrational beliefs.

Let me be your eyes.....no one thing defines you or detracts from who you are.....words are powerful, so say it for you. Be present, choosing consciously aware however hard, another dimension will enhance, even if it is not as you would prefer it to be.

I care....it is not easy, it takes a lot of courage living with the killer within, never knowing when it will strike. You will get through this and come out the other side. Love and accept yourself just as you are......your immensely valuable, special and unique.

White on gold....enthused....holy, the cross stands absolute changing reflections with force....take real strength from this truth.....the grass will again smell sweet. Till at last daystar.....the sun breaks through and stays....touching, it's good to see you smile.....just when you thought you were out of reach.

Premium Member Shout

Shout, for your life may depend on it,
Sing, for the world needs your song,
Cry and your pain’s voice may benefit,
Laugh and the world strings along.

Your feelings are always life’s servant,
Can carry you when times are tough…
A miracle gift that’s observant,
Though you never love them enough.

Don’t hide in the shadows and whimper,
Get dressed in your finest, have fun,
For no one is fooled when you simper,
Who cares if you’re not number one!

If blemish detracts from perfection,
Imagine that defect is gold,
What you can embrace with affection,
Most people will fear to behold!

If life is tossed ship with no anchor,
Just turn hopeful bow toward the storm,
Our fate is a dream without rancor,
Flows better when we just conform.

Both storms and becalmed days are fleeting,
As fleeting as life is itself,
So welcome the gifts worth the greeting,
And put all the rest on the shelf.

Life’s currency is always changing
As fate drags us through distant lands,
Our own houses need rearranging
Before we start making demands.

Bare truth is like rain without sunlight,
Is growth not Love’s only design?
What batters and bares roots brings soul blight
Unless you think Dada benign.

Shout, for your life may depend on it,
Sing, for the world needs your song,
Cry and your pain’s voice may benefit,
Laugh and the world strings along.

An American Tradition

An American Tradition

I always have hayed to be sedated
So many more poems contemplated
Writing that up on me often creep
Calmly and can put you to sleep.

May read poems like these before
Many to death am sure did bore
Then emailed them out on internet
To foolish poets you may have met.

Of course was extremely hard to tell
Who for stories in poems finally fell
After reading them in complete entire
You soon said liar, liar pants on fire.

How many causes were you defeating?
As poem number had been depleting
Disturbing and designed to be ill-fated
Hoped they ended up being evaporated.

All were horrible and written very bad
(So Trump would say.)
And not reading again, you were glad,
Having conformed to American tradition,
Hearing rhetoric from each politician.

Hearing President at News Convention
Where likely limited is the competition,
Having much humor and many facts
Honest and from truth never detracts.

Premium Member When Skies of Cobalt Blue - Act 1

The end of the year is drawing near
Home to our familes we will go
No more blinding white in surround
Saying cheerio to this Antarctic flow

It's late as we pass the seventh hour
The nineteenth of December now truly left behind
For after the holidays we'll return
Take our chances to see what there's to find

It's approximately twelve past eight
The drilling rigs on it's final bore
When we hear a shout from the derrick
It's more of panic, than we have ever heard before

The sensors have picked up our strike
It's metal we have struck so far down
In momentary pause we stand stunned
What can be buried so far underground

A silence captures this expanse
The sky turns a deep cobalt blue
A violent shaking, the ice breaking
What ever it is, it's massive that's breaking through

Thousands of years start to show face
Ancient ice from a long forgotten past
Detracts us from what we are witnessing
Looking up leaves us in total aghast

Something not of this world
Has erupted through earths glacial ice
Above us it starts to hover
Our eyes lured as if in awe suffice

We hear voices on our radios
Which leaves us in total astound
In various parts of the world
Giant spaceships rise from our grounds

Beautiful Girls

Why won’t they love me
Why don’t they like me
Why won’t they pay
Any mind
I am beautiful
Aren’t I

Why won’t they notice
Why don’t they know me
Even when I feel oh so fine
They won’t take the time, why
I am beautiful
Aren’t I

Am I too little
Am I too big
What could it be
That detracts them from
My beautiful personality

Am I too forward
Or not enough
Should I try harder
Or do I try too much

Will they notice
If I switch when I walk
Will they watch
If I give my hair a whirl
Because I’d give the world
To be considered
A beautiful girl

Is it too much to ask
For a little romance
a little attention
Someone to show me some affection
With that,
All my other cares
Will lesson

I’ve went all my life
Watching the others shine
while I sat lonesome,and cried
now I'm changing,
I want it to be
My time
Because I'm beautiful
Aren’t I

Connection To Nature

I am connected to Nature
And Nature is connected to me
From the tiniest ant
To the largest elephant
From creatures in the deepest ocean
To those on top the highest mountain
From the tiniest plant
To the largest tree
The tree takes in what I exhale
And returns to me what I inhale
I consume as food, plant life from the earth
After I die, on my remains they will feed
I am connected to Nature
And Nature is connected to me

Dedicated to those who experience a direct personal connection
to Nature independent of any explanation.
(Any attempt at explanation detracts from the immediate empirical quality
of the experience which is the focus of this piece.)

Should Have Seen and More

Should Have Seen

You should have seen what I saw;
Looked just like my mother in law;
Had been devoted;
Body badly bloated;
She called me a turkey in the straw.

Jim Horn

Think Turkey in the Straw is a dance.

Holy Rollers In A Row

What I saw was Holy Rollers in a row;
Could always tell by way faces glow;
They Have held on,
Until communion gone;
Episcopalian Priests are always a pro.

Jim Horn

Horn Haiku for New Year

Be at later date,
When Horn haiku has been formed,
While you are waiting.

Jim Horn

Some words to use for poems.

Vivacious, courageous, gracious.

Confusing, choosing, amusing.

Rudimentary, complimentary, pecuniary

Habitant, penitent, compliment.

Exceed, stampede, recede.

Complacent, eloquent, competent

Irefuted, diluted, muted and recruited.

Provoking, joking, poking. invoking.

Hesistant, consistant, resistant.

Bestowed, glowed, bowed

Contested, rested, suggested.

Loss, moss, toss.

Denied, shied, cried.

Facts, detracts, lacks.

Cathartic, lethargic, tragic

Rocket, sock it, locket

Love we will want is wide and broad,
Made exactly for us and not a fraud;
Answer know;
To God do go;
To Him we must pray to and in laud.

Jim Horn

He is definitely deeply in my prayers,
For all of us we know that God cares;
Do start to play,
More each day;
He will always free us from all despair.
Wrote this especially for Jon Freeman
of St. James.

12:27-Ish

When your best friends
Wear lab coats
And carry instruments
The steal smiles
And steam the meaningful
stains
Out of your soul,
(The little imperfections
In all of us that
Help sculpt and mold
Our images)
Remaining self-aware for
Self-awareness’ sake
Becomes potentially problematic.
Floating above reason with
A touch of lethargy
Maximizes self-control
But detracts from
Fundamental choice.
Insomnia limited to
Social norms
Slashes and burns
A one-way path to
Narcoleptic days
And where have the
Weeks gone?
Seasons move like
Speed-demon racecars,
Their tornado tailwinds
Blowing up skirts as they pass.
The looks I draw would
Tarnish steel,
Heavy and demeaning;
With an arrogant smile,
I brush off my shoulder
And look through
The wormhole.

Trump Should Be Fired

Trump Should Be Fired

Trump was hired who we never desired;
Our patience with him has expired;
Only few backs;
Most he detracts,
So should be impeached and then fired.

Tower

TOWER
                            MY FEARS?

     A MAN NAMED TOWER
      A BOY NOT TALL
      A DRUG THAT ELEVATES
     THE FURTHER TO FALL
    HIDING, CRYING,
    LONGING TO BE SAVED
     PAIN SO GREAT,
      FEAR TAKES HOLD
      LET’S LEAVE AT ONCE
     IS SOMEONE COMING?
                NO!
              FEAR,
             OH’DEAR
     TEARS FALL, SHOULDERS DROP
     HEART BREAKS, MUST GO,
     I CAN’T STAND IT HERE
    CURLED, SMALL, TIGHT I GRIEVE.
    IS MY PAIN TO STOP?
     I’VE FAILED, I FALTER,
      I KNOW NOT HOW
     TO STOP MY BROKEN HEART.
      A SILENT SCREAM,
       NOBODY HEARS
      TEARS, FEARS,
      .NEW RESOLVE.
       AWAY! ONWARD! HIDE!
      WHY STAY?
      SOBBING SO HARD,
      STEEL DETRACTS
      MY SOUL SHIVERS,
      MIND EMPTIES
      FEELINGS STIR AND HARDEN,
       BLACK COVERS THE BLUE
      WHO I LEAVE, WHO CARES,
                NOT I!
      CHILDREN SHOUT, BIRDS ZING,
       LIFE FALLS FOREWORD,
        AND DROPS AWAY
       QUICK NOW! GOOD-BYE,
       HARD STEEL, TASTE, PULL,
         GONE
