Tower

TOWER
                            MY FEARS?

     A MAN NAMED TOWER
      A BOY NOT TALL
      A DRUG THAT ELEVATES
     THE FURTHER TO FALL
    HIDING, CRYING,
    LONGING TO BE SAVED
     PAIN SO GREAT,
      FEAR TAKES HOLD
      LET’S LEAVE AT ONCE
     IS SOMEONE COMING?
                NO!
              FEAR,
             OH’DEAR
     TEARS FALL, SHOULDERS DROP
     HEART BREAKS, MUST GO,
     I CAN’T STAND IT HERE
    CURLED, SMALL, TIGHT I GRIEVE.
    IS MY PAIN TO STOP?
     I’VE FAILED, I FALTER,
      I KNOW NOT HOW
     TO STOP MY BROKEN HEART.
      A SILENT SCREAM,
       NOBODY HEARS
      TEARS, FEARS,
      .NEW RESOLVE.
       AWAY! ONWARD! HIDE!
      WHY STAY?
      SOBBING SO HARD,
      STEEL DETRACTS
      MY SOUL SHIVERS,
      MIND EMPTIES
      FEELINGS STIR AND HARDEN,
       BLACK COVERS THE BLUE
      WHO I LEAVE, WHO CARES,
                NOT I!
      CHILDREN SHOUT, BIRDS ZING,
       LIFE FALLS FOREWORD,
        AND DROPS AWAY
       QUICK NOW! GOOD-BYE,
       HARD STEEL, TASTE, PULL,
         GONE
