Best Denise Poems
You invigorated my mind, then followed my heart
I felt the loss of myself as the dark hours passed
Will this wanting ever end, how could I let it start
You were so clever slowly breaking me part by part
Brief moments of euphoria that never seem to last
You invigorated my mind, then followed my heart
Now I’m a donkey and for a carrot I’ll pull the cart
Slave to a cruel master and forever I will be outcast
Will this wanting ever end, how could I let it start
A wise fool I am, confessing myself I’m so smart
Foolishness displayed by the useless questions I ask
You invigorated my mind, then followed my heart
If you’re confessing your weakness, I’ll cast a dart
You feel the sting, and my words make you aghast
Will this wanting end, how could I let is even start
You want reality to be one glorious work of art
Out of that, only shame and regret have amassed
You invigorated my mind, then followed my heart
Will this wanting ever end, how could I let it start
As stated this was inspired by Denise Narayadu's poem. Denise is a wonderful poet who's work I recently discovered, she's gaining momentum quickly.
She only wanted a kind soul to hold her hand
Remembering what life is, but forgetting why
Just wanting a guide in a now strange land
A solitary desert footprints lost in the sand
The journey impossible but still she'll try
She only wants a kind soul to hold her hand
She feels lost in this vast and lonely land
So much despair still her eyes remain dry
Just wanting a guide in a now strange land
Confused asking what will happiness demand
She continues steadfast and she will not cry
She only wanted a kind soul to hold her hand
Looking for the strength to make her stand
Always some truths that she cannot deny
Just wanting a guide in a now strange land
Time reveals two paths one bland one grand
A single star luminates in a pitch black sky
She only wanted a kind soul to hold her hand
Just wanting a guide in a now strange land
Amid 240 units of toil
Reigns my Connie
Where she walks
Is blessed soil
California sun
To match her hair,
No nature's beauty
Could compare
Sitting at a table,
With her friend Denise,
Mulling over a
Possible lease...
To an Indian
named Cochise...
Will he pay in wampum
Or scalps he'd taken,
Or Indian souvenirs,
Or maybe he's fakin'
Maybe he's
really from Jersey
Or maybe he's not...
Will he want
To keep buffalo
In the parking lot?
Will arrows fly
When he gets mad?
Will he smoke
odd stuff
When he is sad?
Erect a teepee
In his living room?
Keep six squaws
To dispell his gloom?
Ride his horse
bareback to work...?
Feathered head
that he can shake?
Or suit and tie,
Briefcase at his side,??
Laptop computer
Covered in cowhide??
It's a mystery,
As you can see...
Time will soon tell
What will be.
I'll let you know
how it turns out,
And even though
You likely doubt,
This story that
I'm telling you...
Yet, it's possible,
that it just might
be true.
Some hearts will go on,
Braving the storms, the pain,
Even though you’re gone,
You’re there in ways I can’t explain.
Some of those who believe,
Will speak of you with a smile,
Laughing, even though they grieve,
You were here such a short while.
Some will let the tears flow,
Resting on their cheeks, their souls,
Breathing light that shall always glow,
Recalling the love that consoles.
Some of those who loved you,
They will always remember,
Because, through and through,
You were gentle as December.
Some hearts will reflect on the hope,
When we meet up there, in the sky,
Filled with wonder, signs we can cope,
Since we know the One who cannot die.
Some of those who grieve the worst,
Keep your memory alive, with their tears,
Your light was just like the star’s burst,
Reflecting joy that never forgets those years.
Some who loved you will breath a prayer,
Whispering to Jesus, who you’re meeting,
Aching for comfort for those who share…
This grief - because your life was fleeting.
I believe you knew that you were adored,
And that everyone would miss you so much,
But, dear Denise, I’m so glad you knew the Lord,
Who came to silence your pain with His touch.
Those who will miss you will never again…
See the smile that heaven gained –
When your angel’s wings you did attain,
Even though His purposes can’t be explained.
When we meet you one day in the morrow,
Know that our hearts will be excited,
By the beautiful that is sure to heal our sorrow,
When we’re together up there, reunited!
Your the one that set my heart aflame,
Every time I hear your name;
The flame grows brighter, my heart grows
lighter,DENISE my heartbeat.
Your the gardener that sews the seed,
Your the flower that I need;
The seed grows longer, my heart beats
stronger,DENISE my white rose.
Upon my face, your a summer breeze,
Setting my soul and mind at ease;
The light breeze blowing,my heart all
knowing,DENISE my wind chime.
Your the one that sets my soul on fire,
Your my soul's only desire;
The fire,hot embers,my heart still
remembers,DENISE my candle of life.
As a river flowing to the sea,
DENISE is a living part of me,together
Forever we shall flow free;In the river
of life for Eternity.

For the love buds in me shall release
The love that seems not to cease
Likened to butter and cheese
We shall bond like two pods full of peas
Her hair falling back like leaves of pine trees
Boys fight hard to appease
But don't approach her with ease
I'll promise her love deep as seas
An honest love with no tributaries
Neither it having boundaries
I should be the owner of her heart keys
For I had a dream of us opening the love cities
And making love in orchards of apple trees
She goes by the name Denise
What's her name?
I have to act with a little more patience
But my feelings act with more urgency
Loving at first sight is not my tendency
But Her type on earth is scarce
So I should neglect all my acquittance
And gate crash at their family ballroom dance
With a mask to make up a Halloween stance
And approach her at the entrance
For when she gives me chance
To get hold of that waist lace
Our lips shall whisper in silence
Never letting go the closeness in distance
Her name is wanted by all those in attendance
She goes by the name Patience.

Denise is barely twelve and smart,
she has been an orphan for sometime,
but since her mom passed away,
she grew up as lonely child...
generosity was instilled early
in her little, empty heart.
She made her first paper star
when Sirius, the brightest one,
appeared and hung over
the twinkling, navy blue horizon...
thinking of her mother's illness,
and to her she was a pretty princess.
And with love and eagerness, Denise
sang a melancholic song every evening,
feeling her presence with that smiling face;
other girls had mothers to sing them lovely lullbyes,
so Sirius was deeply touched, and seeing
her loneliness got some nightgales to lull her to sleep.
I've made a plea today, through the Archangel Gabriel,
to ask God to give the star, Sirius, to Denise,
and in return I would do many a good deed;
and tell everyone the wonderful news with a thrilling voice,
and would the Almighty, who made this gem to gleam,
grant me another wish...a wish perhaps too impossible?
Nights passed, and no heavenly message was sent to me,
and Gabriel never returned to ease my restlessness and fear;
one night as I fell asleep...his voice ordered me to listen,
" Your Father has granted your wish...He has seen a sincere love;
now Sirius is Denise's star!" And waking up from that vision,
I looked outside and there she was gazing at it with awe!
Entered in Lind-Marie Bariana's contest, " Shining Star "
An attractive woman like you
gets the attention of all men under thirty;
Denise,I don't expect you
to dress like a convent nun...
There are other ways to look sexy;
beside the latest fashion clothes
and glamorous,irresistible looks...
Denise,youcan still have fun!
Many are the dangers outhere,
some of the guys will hurt you with lies...
not this guy you refuse to talk to!
A sudden,unwise decision
will influence your attitude,
then your freedom will shred
into a thousand pieces
and disappear into thin air!
It's time you used some wisdom
and showed some consideration!
Denise, put all your trust in me...
I've dated girls who had gotten
in unpleasant situations,
because of their silly intentions;
don't be like them,Denise...
turn around and listen to me,
and you won't be entrapped again!
Oh,Denise...beautiful Denise,
I kissed you first in the April moonlight;
and I hate see another hold you in that light!
Oh,Denise...beautiful Denise,
our dream can't crumble before our very eyes;
give it a new life...so that it can shine like stars!
You made me feel confident abut myself.
You began to love me like noone else.
I am glad I could be myself around you,
you made me feel like there was nothing i could not do.
You made me realize that there was more to life than the eye can see.
You made me realize that without you i could not be.
The Love we had will forever remain in my heart.
I will Love you forever even though we are apart.
Nothing seemed peculiar or out of place.
Just another day at her workspace.
Bright and early at 7 am, she clocked in.
It was
Friday, a time for some productive work before the weekend.
She had plans to work and return home.
But angels had other plans for Ms. Prudhomme.
From her cubicle, she quietly took flight,
Away from the daily grind and futile fight.
For four days, her avatar sat alone,
No more life, no more earth to call home.
For four days, nobody came to see about her.
Maybe there was a phone call, text, or email, but there was nothing after.
Nothing peculiar or out of place,
Just another day at the workspace.
