Best Debbie Poems
As a girl in my teen I did stray
to the circus I did run away
I wanted to fly
high in the sky
But, Mother wanted me to dance ballet!
Yes Debbie-Do flew upon a trapeze
in sequined tights with a rod 'tween her knees
her hair in a tail
her cleavage unveiled
I was the toast of the town if you please!
As I preened on the platform up high
and powdered my two hands and my thighs
one fine reporter
said I really aughta
Try out for the circus in Shanghai.

Limerick
I paced placidly along picturesque pathways,
Around the vast verdant valley that led nowhere.
Oh Debbie, my Debbie, disappeared in thin air!
I'll search and I'll search and mutter a prayer,
I texted her and called her, but alas all seemed in vain.
Ah Debbie, my Debbie, I shouted her name.
All echoed back at me. still, I yearn for her love.
I imagined her hot lips, lingering on mine,
Yet she escaped me and flew like a rock dove,
But why, oh why? We fitted like a glove.
The blissful breeze blew through the cottonwoods,
"I'm here! I'm here!" Her voice echoed impulsively,
Elated I searched among the trees near a river.
I saw her there, beneath the willow, seductively.
I ran and hugged her tight, with all our fecundity.

For a girl named Debbie; who won me over with her words-
Damn girl you know your way with words,
the way they explode with power and feeling
just gets me entangled in the flow of your poetry.
You're good girl, your a woman who knows her stuff,
I like that in a woman,
whose not afraid to show her heart,
to burn up a piece of paper with hot glare of emotions
of love and hate and everyday life.
You can write about anything and everything,
and have it sound good to the reader's heart,
Damn girl you know you won my heart,
your way with words is like a hot knife slicing though cold butter,
and my nerves rattle and my heart skips a beat
when you start writing about love.
Damn this girl is good,
she knows her stuff,
with a portrait of Edgar Allan Poe hanging over her wall,
as she sits with lights dimmed, she writes of the darkest days,
she makes 'em and she breaks 'em with her words.
And she writes whatever comes to her mind,
a day taking her meds,
or a day with or without love,
or just another day living her life;
she speaks out to whatever comes to her mind,
and that is what I admire in a lovely poetess like her.
This poem is for a girl named Debbie,
a girl whose words won me over.

in her words
i burn.
i get doused.
i feel the sun of the morning.
i know the cheerfulness of the evening wind.
in her letters
i see a magic garden
strewn with fragrance of desire.
i pause.
i whiten.
i blush,
.....too soon for love.

"Birthday Glee for Debbie G."
as I peeked at my calendar today
circled in red it said Debbie's Birthday
so off to shopping mall
to buy her a stress ball
she can squeeze, poke or prod everyday!
remember age is just a number, Debbie dear,
you're getting better year after year
don't worry 'bout being older
you're just wiser and bolder
how about a toast with a big keg of beer!
sending you a surprise first class mail
open immediately, without fail,
magic mirror attracts men
reflects a sexy 5 foot - ten
38-22-34 has great appeal!
then there's a love potion for fun
for a gal whose always number one
as you blow out birthday candles
forget about those "love handles"
when the smoke clears just hurry up and run!
one more little gift to ignite
in a woman's world, perfume's a delight
just one little squirt
you become instant flirt
Deb gets "lucky" on her birthday night!
hope these little treats brought you birthday cheer
with a card saying: "wish you were here"
though miles separate
we'll help you celebrate
with a big hug and kiss and tiny tear!

Happy birthday, dearest Debbie.
We come to help you celebrate,
And to bring this little poem
To let you know we think you're great.
We Soupers thank God every day
For our precious poet friend.
We are so glad you came our way.
You bring us blessings without end.
Have a happy birthday Debbie,
I will not ask which one it is,
For your age, younger or older
Is truly no one else's biz.
My paternal grandma and one of my beloved brothers had your birthday, September 19th.

Oh Goddess, Little Debbie,
Queen of all Saturated Fat,
Sometime of Swiss, which is called Roll,
Now of the delightful Court of Nutty Bars,
I respectfully esteem your Zebra Cakes,
I salute your Cosmic Brownies
And I kiss your empty boxes of Oatmeal Crème Pies.
It can’t be, Oh Goddess,
The tasty chomps of your Honey Buns,
Nor that of your delicious and calorie-laden Donut Sticks,
Which causes me now to wear plus sizes.
But since this is your respectful tribute, Oh Goddess,
It seems appropriate to me to proclaim
According to a greedy and overeating custom,
That I complete one roll of your Powdered Donuts.
Your face, Oh Goddess,
Is so adored that I placed a lovely tattoo
On each layer of my 4-layer belly,
Such as a memorial
Or the obsession
Or my adulation.
It is like the cow coming through chocolate-covered grass,
Yet a bit different,
For the grass is not chocolate-covered,
Only carpet and I am the cow.
Loving you, Oh Goddess,
I love all of your consequences;
But I imagine
That even if I did not love you
I would love the sweetness of even your crumbs,
And my fatness, shaped in the honor of all your snacks.
ALL HAIL LITTLE DEBBIE! :-)

March brushes past us, in its blustery haste
And we, who stand where Winter’s chill once laid waste,
Watch in awe, the breath of Spring ignite the earth.
Around cold Winter’s girth, warm Spring wraps its mirth.
We know, after every death, there is rebirth.

Little Debbie was never a bore
Even when she sat on the floor
She would giggle away
And always would say
A comment that got to the core

on this the finest of days
a message I bring...

To Debbie T. - A Birthday Gift
Ten years ago I made you a promise to love you eternally. You see …
…It stands as good today as it did then; for it was by Divine Decree.
You see, the same God that blesses you, blesses me too; See?
And though His face I shall never see, I still love Him dearly. Glory be!
He placed you in my heart; Such a gift is a Gift for Eternity - for all to see.
This Gift of knowing you is all I need - gifted to me by the Holy He.
I dare any man to remove this wonderful gift from my heart ...from me!
Have a Happy and Blessed Birthday, dearest Debbie ….
…I sincerely hope you do believe me …see!?
Bxx

Debbie has a birthday, wow what can that mean?
Is she having a special day, just for a birthday queen?
How old now can our Debbie be?
Older than her teeth, and that is bound to be…
She is as they say, as old as her tongue
Gosh that that can’t be right, something must be wrong
Her tongue they say is rapier sharp, her wit the same way too,
That come with years of practice, I’m still aspiring too.
Her tongue must be separate from our dear Debbie’s head
Cos it can’t be that experienced when all is done and said…
But maybe her teeth are not all her own
Maybe the botox, another set has grown.
No I am sure our Debbie is just as she is seen
And well worth her 30th and to be a birthday queen.
One thing now of which I am sure as can be
I’ll never make money writing birthday rhymes, See….

From the distance shores of the Niger
I have come, O good friend
With glittering 'Ola ocha and ola edo' from our ancient river
As precious presents to you my good friend
From the treasury fold of my grandfather
O friend, I brought these these olas in honor of our friendship
As time's feet crawl and crawl little further
O friend I pray the sea of life spares your sailing ship
Here from the dark hole of my oil-rich black field
O friend I wire prayers across the Atlantic Ocean
As your birthday balloons dance in the open field
O friend may God package more glorious years with passion
Dedicated to Debbie Guzzie.
Note: ola ocha and ola edo are silver and gold in Igbo tribe in West Africa
Niger is the biggest river in Nigeria
I have said this before and must continue saying it. Among the wonderful people on earth Deb is the best. This is the least I can offer on her birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEB!

Little Dollar Debbie, loves to thrift store shop,
her pocket full of dollars, she doesn't want to stop.
A place of splendid bargains, stacked so ever high,
wanting almost everything that finds her shoppers eye.
Her pocket full of dollars, she doesn't want to stop,
walk each aisle, end to end, like a spinning top.
Pick up each new item to give it careful look,
searching high and low in every shelf and nook.
A place of splendid bargains stacked so ever high,
each for just one dollar for her happily to buy.
New things never seen before to tempt her shoppers skill,
amazing offers in the mix to test her weakened will.
Wanting almost everything that finds her shoppers eye,
two for one with rebates tempting her to try.
Shes a shop-a-holic with no plan to ever stop,
Little Dollar Debbie, loves to thrift store shop.
