Like a gecko, that one changes their colours
speaks in tongues long then short blue
climbing up and down walls clicking
translating the draconians’ poetic profusions
all are night creatures in the absence of light fluctuations

they scurry along the cracks over the white and the black
5 fingers 5 toes, quite quite reptilian,
efficient in the chosen environment, useful,
amusing a muse, then, when the mourning sun rises,
contradictory, scurrilous, misplaced, undeniably ugly,

yet cute

Night creatures, light framed
lone vigils, velvet skinned strict vigilantes
on all fours preying Carthusian monks
nakedly bathed in absinthe chartreuse
through their clicking chants, looking for true

through the glass onion
peeling back layers
shedding skin
on a wall
5 fingers, 5 toes

amusing a muse

HAIKU #1-14 (Taken from my files totaling 12,016 haiku, started in 2/9/06)

Ants red as wine A black spider seem to own
dine on yellow nectar squatter's rights right on
from a juicy mango. our front porch.

Day of rain and A quiet gentle breeze brought
zero visibility, then thoughts of Belize and
pastel evening sky. New York's Hudson.

Morning draped in silk Drenched from his walk
of white as we await snow a lone man sat basking on
and sleet and cold rain. bench in sudden sunshine.

In dreariness of winter Driving home by night
my philodendron buds stands I fled the signal of a white
erect and frozen. hand hitchhiking.

Earth held in traction In temp of one hundred
by glistening silver moon a black bird basked
full like a balloon. in my shadow.

Blond rabbit pregnant In dark of night
with ***** often visit and With full moon bright
side with the husband military copters all in a row.

A spider sleeps all day In early morn my pen
then wake up and work poised like stillness of
at post twilight time. trees awaiting breeze.

Indigenous Creatures of My Writing Desk

There is an antique writing desk
in my little study
handed-me-down
from generations of would-be
writers in my family

And there are ancient creatures
from days gone by
living in this old desk still
evil, larcenous little creatures
envious of literary skill

This explains much

Lately, I have caught them unawares
aghast, thought I imagined them
but they are really there
surly, sinister, repugnant creatures
in my writing desk

There's a putrid little jerk,
called Pernishicus who lurks
behind the piles on my desk
glorying in the mess
a malevolent, grimy-mauve gremlin

Who preys on newly created works
stealthily spraying them
with foul feculence
as soon as I commence
my writing-

...Sometimes missing slightly
and tagging my hand
making it hard to stand
myself (much less my writing)
for days on end

Then there's a creepy
mesmerizing fiend
they call Spelbadger
a translucent thing, quite obscene
who shifts in the shadows and purrs

With dark eyes deep- constantly changing
like stones from mood-rings
set in his skull
he psychically bullies,
intimidates and muddles
until my poor brain
is worn and dull

And perhaps worst of all
is that one, Grumblesleaze
with pale, glowering eyes diseased
a gray-green, mangy looking thing
whose famous quirk
is that he has the gall
to grouse about my work...

As he viciously shreds it
then glunshing and munching
greedily devours it all
leaving no note
or trace of remembrance
of my past brilliance
behind

Oh, out of spite
he might leave a few
of my ill-penned
unfortunate lines
I planned to cut anyway
or pull my worst attempts
from the waste-can
and lay them out
to remind me of my failures

Yes, this explains much

For there was only one before
our one lone ancestor
who was able to write
at this desk prolifically
tapping out volumes rather heroically

'Though tiresome and tedious
dry history and drivel
which, no doubt, shrank and shriveled
and lulled these creatures off
to sleep for years

Until we woke them up
broke their hibernation
with more interesting stories
and imagination, colorfully crafted
ingenious, piece after piece

Clicking and clacking away
on typewriters, keyboards
generation after generation
of irritatingly gifted writers
disturbing their peace
it had to cease...

My Crazy Creatures

MY CRAZY CREATURES

This rhyme's about creatures of various sorts.
Creatures with fangs, hairy bellies and warts.
They cause lots of mischief all day long.
Mum always blames me but I’ve done nothing wrong.
These creatures are crazy. They’re not what you'd think.
Turn over the page. Find out more in a blink...

The first is Belcher. He really does stink.
He lives in the toilet and plays in the sink.
He likes to be naughty when nobody's in.
He cannot be found when you're searching for him.
Dad always moans when he sees all the stains.
I tell him it’s Belcher, “He’s done it again!”

Two thinks that she’s pretty, but really she’s not.
She has warts on her face and is covered in spots.
She has a big bottom and six hairy feet.
Her name is Ghastly. She’s really not sweet.
She steals mum’s lipstick and paints her mouth red.
She tries on her dresses, throwing clothes on the bed.
As soon as mum enters she’s so quick to flee.
I guess that’s why my mum always blames me.

Number three is so quiet but I know that he’s there.
He smudges my face and puts glue in my hair.
I call him Hush Monster as he follows me round,
Putting mud on my clothes without making a sound.
I aim for the paper but the pen marks my face.
Mum looks at me glumly, "You're such a disgrace."
I try to tell her that it just wasn't me.
"It was Hush monster, Mummy. Why can't you see?"

The worst of them all is a creature called Doom.
I'm always in trouble when he's in the room.
He often burps loudly when we're eating our food.
Mum frowns with disgust. "Now, don't be so rude!"
He cackles with laughter whilst spilling my drink.
"Be careful," shouts dad. "Don't you ever think?"
You may well wonder why he's never been caught.
Well…he's the size of a pea and he’s very well taught.
He rolls under the sofa after doing things bad,
And I look to my parents who seem really mad.

These crazy creatures I like the best.
I’m glad I could share them with you and the rest.
Belcher, Ghastly and a monster called Hush,
Then don't forget Doom. They all make me blush.
They live in my house and like to cause bother,
Driving everyone mad, especially my mother.
They’re experts in mischief. They get me in trouble.
Now I’ll tell you a secret that may burst your bubble.
Whilst these creatures are crazy it has to be said,
They don’t really exist, “They’re all in my head!”

Premium Member Out of All the Creatures God Created

God created man and woman in his own image out of "All the "creatures" that he has "CREATED"!!!!!! That is a blessing within itself to "MAN and WOMAN" "TO BE" created in "THE IMAGE OF GOD"!!!!!!! Praise "The Lord" who is GOD!!!My GOD is "Amazing"!!!! My God is amazing to me! He will give us more power, and strength when we do good works, and believe in "the Lord God Almighty who created "All Things" and that includes "You and Me"!!!God created "Adam and Eve in his own immage so that we can see how much God loves you and me!!! God is amazing!!! A man has "Power",and a woman has "Power" and can "Deliver Justice" through "The Creator" and "Our Savior" who judges all of man and woman kind for good that they do,or the evil that we do to "Life"resserection,or damnation for the "Evil" that we do!!!"Justice will be applied, and that is why it is the best to do good ,no matter what your "Religion":You will be judged! Faith without "Works is "Dead"!!!!Works is doing good! Hate is "Evil"!!!!Racism is "Hate for no reason, except to send yourself to "Hell" ,so that "Justice" can be achieved!!!!The "Creator" does not "Judge",but has given "Authority of "Judgement",into the hands of "The Son of God",to let "Justice" be delivered to all of man and woman kind!!!Judges will start to deliver "Justice" to those who commit "Pre-meditated Murder"? We all have heard of "The Electric Chair"? "Justice MUST be served" to make "Justice Just"!!!This happens in "THE PHYSICAL" and "THE SPIRITUAL"!!!!!!Those who are "SPIRITUALLY EVIL",and PHYSICALLY IN the body, and "EVIL" can look foward to be "Resserected" to their eternal "HOME"!!!!! It is explained above: Love is an action word, and requires action to become true! Hate is an action word, and requires an action to become true. Justice is an action word ,and requires an action to make "Justice" true to itself,or not be a server of "Justice"! In "The Holy Bible",in John Chapter 5 verse 20 through 29 there is going to be resurrection to life for doing good, and there is going to be resurrection to "Damnation"for doing "Evil":No matter what your Religious Faith,so do not be late;Let us have good works and Faith!

Creatures Of The Flame

Fierce friend or foe...earth element of fire;
In many ways advanced our humankind.
Relentless when unchecked, a beast so dire,
Engulfs and smothers, leaving ash behind.

Fire shaped the path for humans to progress:
provided them with warmth and light at night;
by chance, found cooking meat gave tenderness,
so eating more increased brain power's might.

The flames of fire kept beasts of prey at bay,
so humans slept in caves instead of trees.
Less vigor used to chew and climb paved way
to think, invent, develop skills with ease.

The gift of fire revamped the human game
when we became earth "creatures of the flame."

The Insatiable White Creatures

Beneath the cold glare of the desolate night,
They came, greedy and insatiable white creatures,
Cloaked in prim pretense,
Every curve of their features seemed to express a fine arrogant acrimony and harsh truculence.

Expectation darkened into anxiety,
A thousand unutterable fears bore irresistible despotism over our thoughts,
Men, ladies and children collapsed into a dreary and hysterical depression,
Leaving us drowned in the deep reticence of the colonial sea.

As arbitrary as a cyclone and as killing as a pestilence,
With a sweet voice caroling like a gold-caged nightingale,
They looted our abundant resources,
And abolished many of our African customs and traditions.

They enslaved us!
Underdeveloped us!
And reduced us to nothing.

Gleams of sunlight, bewildered like ourselves, struggled, surprised, through the mist and disappeared,
Half choked by a rising paroxysm of rage,
The hollow ring of their fundamental nothingness were defined,
With the blood in our eyes, matchets, bows and arrows and diplomacy,
Then the fight and chase began!

Creatures Know True Love

Baby, every-time you try to avoid me

A cute bird sings to make me calm
A naughty cat tires to help me laugh
A stupid dog barks to divert my mind!!!

Baby, the creatures of all type feel my heart
Love me the way I love you
So creatures continue to have faith in true love!!!

Humanity Exists As Sad Creatures With Evil Skins

Reprieve may be a fine desert or a freedom to live
A blessing freely granted or the power to freely give
But we must dare admit what immense courage some things take
And use our smart brains to identify the sorrowful fakes
For humans react to threats in many kinds of strange ways
But evil exists and demand opponents dearly pays
War savagery that with pure delight evil men do
Truth is one sorrowful day it may attack me and you
This world to oft engages in darkness and destruction
Mankind adopts wickedness as primary instructions
We have no true safeguards when war its ugly head does raise
Best if we trust our God, and give his Son our faithful praise.

Humanity exists as sad creatures with evil skins.
Full of selfish desires, greed in hearts of women and men.

Robert J. Lindley, dark sonnet
Jan. 21st, 1972

Note. This is the truth about humanity.
Unless under Christ's banner, they too oft exist as evil creatures on the take, imho.

Creatures of Satin We Cast You Away

yall devilish creatures tried to take away my family
My family is my world
let me take yall
back in time
were creatures of my
land riped out my heart all of a sudden
out of the. Crupted blue crowd of ugly creatures
with dead hearts.
literally tore my whole world almost apart.
they snatched my golden little angel
from my heart . they made up all these lies.
to try to get my family torn apart .
these creatures must have no heart , to drag a
family of gods creation straight into the dark.
creatures of hell , you dont snatch away god's
little angel from the original creature creator .
she was choosen to be with me heart to heart .

A misconception is the tale
That we should dread October's spell

It's time to wear your scary faces
For cloudy nights, and creepy spaces!

Mummies stretch by light of day
Ghouls in shadows want to play

Ghosts, behind the pillars, peek
They practice wailing, tune their shrieks

Spiders weave around the room
A wart-nosed witch will mend her broom

The cauldron cleaned with spit and shine
Prepared to hold a drink of slime

With tasty toads and wormy molds
It boils steamy brew that's bold

Graveyards readied, dark with gloom
Bats in belfries wait for doom

No need to dread the harvest moon
All Hallow's Eve is coming soon

They've all worked hard to be prepared
Join the party, IF YOU DARE!!

My eyes are getting weaker,
Tho' I seem to see so much more.
My days are getting bleaker,
Tho' I laugh more oft than before.

A laughter so unnerving,
It seems an echo from the Dead,
With off-key music serving
To bait the phantoms in my head.

I see the creatures Helpful,
As they surround his final bed.
They sway in rhythm woeful
Of the transition close ahead.

I step aside; I'm knowing
That they don't want me in their way.
The tension keeps on growing.
I simply bow my head and pray.

I feel the body leaving,
But see it still upon the bed.
My heart begins its grieving.
His soul is gone, but he is dead.

A tribute to Poetry Soup's Emilia James

I don't like to be namin' names,
but check out Emilia James.
You'll find your poetic reward
in the tale of an ant and his sword.

She mixes words into cookie dough
until she's got it, well...just so.
Then, for her next funny feature,
we can enjoy another creature.

Her characters made me laugh
so hard I almost split in half.
I hope she makes up some other guys,
specializing in the smaller size.

From Washington to the Kremlin,
they're talkin' 'bout her tooth gremlin.
If all these cute guys aren't enough,
She writes about serious stuff.

You'll hear of Mother Nature's wrath,
and unsafe landmines in your path,
When you think, "it can't get better", bud,
There's Mr. Potato.  Call him Spud.
