Hashish smoke trails her
along a dusky corridor
Aka the hall of fires
where mirage chimeras unleash
Encumbered with hands splayed
her crystal ball lumens
wires ghostly apparitions
mnemonic attachments
What mystery ensues
a phantasmagoria
of horror nudging
the demonic
Sitters drenched
in profuse sweat
fainting one by one
Alas unconscious
their fate met?
Coroners couldn’t ‘ve clarified
Described as an arctic chill
bolting across the sector
through each limp body
claiming mortality
As icy temps rise
Hypothermia responsible!
for the fatality, for their demise
Latter days professing onto
recordings of a gathering that took place
confessing that a séance
performed by a mysterious woman
in a trance—was the case.

The
Moon is waxing
First quarter crescent
The beckoning begins
Nodding, gurgling
Opening realms unseen
to the naked eye

Madame
Mystic, psychic,
a beguiling storyteller
and Medium
Down in a cellar, along with a Ouija
volumes of her writings discovered
delving into société espirita
The Goldilocks of the occults
Esoteric subjects,
a burgeoning interest
Astral travels,
unexplained laws of nature,
powers latent in man
Madame channeled
ascended masters
The Voice of the Silence
The Two Paths
The Seven Portals
"gifts" from the specters
This time Madame stands
to receive between intervals
and only he is seated
Warning him of dark spirits
a dimension outside
of our physical time-space reality
shadowing, making absence
of light a necessity
To invoke them
another nod
Continues unabated
Reveal the truth!
By sacred decree, by order
Behind the phenomenon
details of schemes came to light
Denounced as Black Magic
she was no longer to fright
Marked as a fraud
it all a façade
The moon is waning
Third quarter

Compartments

My love’s sole parts I’ll never itemize,
To hack and chop proves meet for butcher’s meat,
And corpses, coroners anatomize.
Why part my sweet when each sole part’s unsweet?
Remove a piece, and make a saint a beast,
Their nothingness proves unsubscribable.
Completes all peace, my love’s an always feast,
Her everything proves indescribable.
But perjury to swear against my actions!
My poems partly catalog her portions.
What mean I now to fear component fractions?
The truth's impeached to live with freed distortions.
My whole life’s dead if when I try her heart,
With soulless dread I prove I’m not a part.

Humpty - the Coroners Hearing

Humpty – The Coroner’s Hearing

Humpty Dumpty had a great fall,
Of that there can be no dispute.
The Kings Men should have done better,
Their diagnosis was not absolute.

We couldn’t put him back together,
All the Kings Horses said.
There was nothing we could do Sir,
Humpty Dumpty was dead.

And why was Humpty sat on the wall,
Without a proper risk assessment.
So, in conclusion I must report,
All the Kings Men were negligent.

Boo-Witches Cat Eyes Halloween Mice

Ghost and goblins stretch high above the street
Hidden in shadows, witches with crooked teeth
Those beady eyes, longest noses twitch at Halloween's beat
A crescendo building towards those lil cute mice, trick for treat
Naivety and innocence follow those scampering feet
Held tightly to their chest are bagfuls of sweet
A witches cat stalks the cute pinks, hidden in maddening heat
Held close to whiskers of doom, yellow tape and a coroners sheet
One more house to trick for treat, mice's abode, saves lil heartbeat
Gone is the rush of the blood, as whiskers boos an elongated retreat

Seven Metres

If you approach anyone
Remember always
There is seven metres
To be safe
From a blade

He was a violent offender
Who beat his girlfriend often
And he broke the law
Acts his community would always defend

He caused the Medical Centre
To be closed down
And the staff were evacuated
Away from the town

He confronted police
And brandished an axe
So he ran into the bush
Not taking a look back

So reinforcements were sent to the town
To bring him into custody was the plan
The police found him in a house
He gave a false name knowing he was a wanted man

But Sergeant Eberl and Constable Rolfe weren’t fooled
And arrested Walker as a wanted man
But Walker struggled and stabbed both with scissors
Wanting to escape them as his demand

Rolfe in defence shot Walker
Then Eberl and Walker fell down
Eberl was fighting for his life
And Rolfe fired twice defending Eberl on the ground

The scissors were taken from Walker
And he was rendered first aid
Then taken to the Police Station
Where Walker’s life away did fade

The story took a twist for the worst
And Zach Rolfe was charged with murder and more
The first shot was within the law
But the second and third were an unlawful score

Chief Minister Gunner said
there’d be consequences
And Zach Rolfe was put through
Two years of hell waiting for his day
When the truth would be told too

The trial started and time and again
It was shown that Rolfe took action by his training
But the Prosecution tried hard
And finally Zach Rolfe was found not guilty with the jury acquitting

But the story did not end
The Yuendumu Community still wanted
An eye for an eye and cried out
For revenge for Walker was shouted

Commissioner Chalker still wanted his pound of flesh
And put Zach Rolfe on annual leave
Serving him with breaches of regulation
So the story continues on to the Coroners Court if you please

So the court jury process acquitted Rolfe
But questions remain
In whether Gunner and Chalker interfered with process
In charging Rolfe with murder

Most think that justice has been done
When Zach Rolfe was acquitted in the Supreme Court
But now it seems the process carries on
So where does the truth lie?

Viennas Crocodile Tears

Why Did You Leave Me

I wish I'd never found the coroners report
Empty bottle of Valium
Empty bottle of Imiprimine
More empty bottles
Two fifths of Vodka
One empty
One still full
Garage door closed
Hose from exhaust to wing window
Wasn't I enough for him to live for
Why daddy
Why did you leave me
My heart has been breaking for 36 years
Couldn't have lived at least for me

Heres Looking At You Kid

Dear brother you were only 22
when the good Lord came calling for you

Water had consumed your last breath
Coroners said was a flashback from heroin and meth

I had always looked up to you
but your verbal abuse made me and the others feel blue

black hair hazel eyes man you look so like Elvis
imitating shaking your hips and pelvis

blisters and sores on your young pale face
oh boy how you had fallen from Gods grace

you had a little girl right after you died
Mom always stood by her and your girlfriend's side

first Grandpa then you Dad Mom and brother Bob
for my life now feels like I've been robbed

missed over 30 yrs of wishing you birthday greetings
now at the dinner table there is limited seating

but every year when your birthday comes and passes
I will be there to pick your grave site overgrown grasses

I wonder what you would look like today
or even if your hair would be full of grey

I have forgiven for all you had done to me
for I hold no regrets so your soul can be free

heres wishing you another birthday greeting
as I lay this card and rose at your grave site's seating

Please give Grandpa Dad Mom and brother Bob my love
for someday I will reunited with all of you above

For now I have my own little girl
for she is my own everyday world

I promise to tell her all about you
and how God will turn you into someone pure and new

Rest in peace my loving dear brother
heres another birthday wish I send in passion smothers

Premium Member She's a Runaway

While on patrol
Down by the beach
A shadow in the water
Just out of my reach

It's off a young girl
About sixteen years old
What would have troubled her
For her life to fold

We report it in
And await the coroners van
To unscramble this enigma
As to why this all began

Down at the morgue
Through her belongings we look
A bracelet we find
And her diary book

We check on the computer
Under the missing persons file
This girl so young
Still a juvenile

We sit and ponder
At her watery stray
This girl so young
She's a runaway

We head back to the patrol car
For we have sad news to tell
How do you tell her parents
For inside me it dwells

We knock on the door
And her mother appears
May we please come in
As her smile disappears

On the beach front tonight
A young girl was found
In the shallows by the pier
I'm so very sorry, she drowned

On the way back to the precinct
I'm thinking of home
Of my own young daughter
Pray-fully, she'll never roam

A week has passed
Since they laid her to rest
They said, look after your daughter
I sure will mam, I'll do my best

Coroner Clerk At Country Corner

I had another 'Robbie' moment yesterday. One of my appointments was in Henagar to inspect the County Coroners truck that hit a deer. Well I couldn't find the address on my GPS so I called and he said go to the intersection of County road 52 and Hwy 71 and I'll see his truck parked at the gas station. Well I thought that was nice of him to meet me and I knew where that intersection was. So I pull up and he's standing out front and we walk over to his truck and I start taking my pictures. He's kinda of a quiet older man so I ask him how long he's worked as the County Coroner....he said five years. Well when I'm around a quiet person I become the talker and start rambling on how I couldn't do his job dealing with dead bodies, murders, crime scenes and especially dead children. He's just noddin his head saying yep and I suppose so. Well I finish taking my pictures, shook his hand and told him to have a nice day. He walked in the store and I got in my car to leave and read over my notes to make sure I didn't miss anything. I notice the inspection location on the assignment sheet said..."Owner works at Country Corner". I look up and yep...the sign at the gas station reads Country Corner. That's when it hit me..he wasn't the County Coroner but managed the Country Corner gas station. That old man musta thought I was nuts talking about dead bodies, blood and murders. I could see him nervously peeking through the window as I drove away.

Update: had to stop there and get gas a few months ago and wore dark sunglasses and a hat so he wouldn't recognize me.

Common causes of death can be diagnosed,
like a heart attack or a cerebral stroke.
What about those other folks?
Those people who pass with out biology.
Might theirs be connected to astrology?
Was their demise rooted in mythology?
The coroners puzzled, it's plain to see.
The death certificate states naturally.
Could it have been too much poetry?
Please bring a shovel to their tomb.
I'll meet you there at high noon.
Their words will joyfully exhume
and fill the air with their perfume..

Creation Redeemed

After Midnight
The narcissists fall
After Midnight
A new lyric calls

After Midnight
Last bugle to blow
After Midnight
There’s more left to know

After Midnight
The lizards collect
After Midnight
Old tales to reflect

After Midnight
The ticking will stop
After Midnight
The bottom will top

After Midnight
A cancerous tome
After Midnight
Malignancy known

After Midnight
Betray and deceive
After Midnight
Alone in the siege

After Midnight
All footsteps fall deaf
After Midnight
Lost palates are cleft

After Midnight
New story to front
After Midnight
Two stars for the dunce

After Midnight
The comets rebel
After Midnight
The coroners yell

After Midnight
A suit made of steel
After Midnight
Its melting reveals

After Midnight
That voice in the back
After Midnight
There’s no turning back

After Midnight
A sacred oath sworn
After Midnight
All memory forlorn

After Midnight
The wheels bend and churn
After Midnight
Lost vision returns

After Midnight
False birth is stillborn
After Midnight
Old vestments are torn

After Midnight
The here and the now
After Midnight
That one sacred cow

After Midnight
Past-Future unseen
After Midnight
  —creation redeemed

Long Ago

Long Ago
I left the church
due to hypocrisy
they wouldn't accept
those different from me

Long Ago
I walked out the door
at age fourteen
leaving an alcoholic family
and the abuse I'd seen

Long Ago
I fought for equality
and equal rights
expressed my feelings
with rebellious fights

Long Ago
I searched for love
amongst mankind
futile efforts
I must have been blind

Long Ago
I was imprisoned
for a foolish crime
still paying today
though I've done my time

Long Ago
I looked in the mirror
saw a coroners shelf
decided to make changes
starting with self

Long Ago
I used to write
just to get away
now I realize
long ago is still today
