Commoners Amidst Bedlam
Ignorance they say
Is bliss
The bombs they hurl
Over the sky
Bringing down cities
In seconds
The blood they shed
Too expensive
To be bought back
Wasted
For a selfish purpose
Somebody else’s
Sense of right
Picking sides
Where both sides
Shoulder no surety
For their lives

Here we are
Sitting behind our screens
Modern human beings
Watching this macabre tragedy
