Best Coming(A) Poems
We drifted not far from shore -
a delicate night with supple air entire,
black and white until patience sent us grays
that rocked with the boat on the slight swells
which gradually reflected the star colors
azure and indigo, carmine and beryl,
sang to us in laurel and rose
verdant with coral and mint
emeralds peeking between pinks,
sapphires that told us of every prayer
ever whispered to them.
I was coming a long way back
that time in the empty park
where all I had were fears that I'd never heal.
In an instant it was all done and I was found
that day I saw your eyes.
The moon set in silence beyond the land.
A gentle wind turned the boat to the south.
Distant rain sent water washing the earth.
Just for a moment we touched the surface of all things.
I love you.

I did a video of a poem that was Poem of the Week. Here is the link to the original poem.

With all that is happening around us in the world today, I'm always reminded that a better day is coming....a day when there will be no more sorrow, mourning, sickness, or death. That day is coming soon. I believe it. Hope you enjoy the video. :)
Too Much Sadness for Me
there's too much sorrow...
don't you know
we are all going to die
a starting point always beckons a finish
sooner or later
no matter how
peaceful or painful
that final moment may be
you see...
it will come
for you
for me
There's too much sorrow
war
betrayal
so much I have seen
sickness sapping away
the mother-daughter moments
meant for me...
She struggled bravely
to set my fears free
But MS wouldn't let her be
My Mama left me
There is too much sorrow
the pain of being unloved
of trying to fit in
of trying to play the game
of success and fame
it all comes at a cost
so much is lost...
sacrificial moments
meant for family
There is too much sorrow
refugee misery
nowhere to be
no home
no destiny
just abject poverty
hearts left hungry
for a love
that the world
will not let them see
There is too much sorrow
tonight my heart is heavy
I'm tired of goodbyes
I'm tired of trying to fit in
I'm tired of pretense
I'm tired of...me
There is too much sorrow
Eyes are blurring
I can't see
the last lines I'm meant to write
Too tired to fight
Survival more than it's pumped up to be
Sleep....obliviousness of a dream
sweet it seems to me
you see...
There is too much pain
So write...
write for me
of happy
of make believe
of heaven
and eternity
of no pain
or misery
of no abuse
or fatality
of no tears
or cruelty
no more death
for you
no more death
for me
can't you see?
Write of happy...
Please, there is too much sadness here
for me....

There’s coming a time of great cheer
when folks will drink gallons of beer
tell tales of wee sprites
and magical sights.
St. Patrick’s Day soon will be here.
On that day, if you don’t wear green,
just stay in your house. Don’t be seen,
or else a hard pinch
might cause you to flinch.
Some pinchers can be downright mean!
Cigarette burns dot the seventies green vinyl chair and a floor television doubles as a table with a lamp and figurines. A six foot two inch three hundred pound strong man made the small room look like a doll house. I watched Big Daddy roll Prince Albert in a can on cigarette papers many times and he was precise, meticulous to make sure not to waste his precious costly addictive indulgence. I got the nerve to ask if I could roll a cigarette this evening and to my surprise he let me despite mawmaw’s protest. I was able to roll the paper without spilling a leaf he smiled and I felt I had accomplished something great. Life is simple in the summer time world of leisure and no school. Big Daddy stayed outside from dawn to dark and worked the fields of corn, beans, tomatoes and okra. His old John Deere tractor made a "pup, pop, pup" sound when he drove down the road to our house. I could hear him coming a mile away and ran out to greet him. He had an idea that women were women and men were men when it came to working and he didn’t allow a woman to help him with the dirty work. A woman was to have pretty clean hands and delicate pale skin in his mind. Any other man said that to me I would give him a verbal lashing. But I overlooked Big Daddy’s faults he had a kind heart and never wanted to hurt anyone. He was generous in trading his vegetables and harsh if someone hurt his family or tried to cheat him.
Sunday morning he rested and put on a suit and went to church never did he have his bald head uncovered except in church. He had a dress hat for Sunday to wear on the way to church. I miss seeing those fancy hats and suits. A third grade graduate knew how to dress and respect the lord better than any college educated wealthy man. He wouldn’t smoke at the church out of respect.

The sun is shining bright, but the world is dark
This pandemic has swept the world and every park
I saw it coming a couple months ago
But the preparations were lacking, and scared me so
Now, some places have come a horror show
No masks, lack of supplies, as all the cases flow
Into hospitals, overloading them day to day
I am almost speechless, trying to find words to say
It's so overwhelming to see the widespread impact
In so many areas, so many closings are a fact
We are fighting for our lives, trying to stay inside
I'm looking in my yard, even the animals seem to hide
All I can do is pray with my heart, as it breaks
Wishing I could do more, as I'm doing what it takes...
- To survive. -

Tell me boy
do you know how to heal a broken heart?
You’d swear you’ll shatter me
maybe that’s just what I need.
My heart was burned years ago
maybe you’re a spark.
I’ve called you an Eagle;
Maybe I’m a phoenix;
Burn me completely
so I can rise;
I know who’s to blame.
It’s not you. I could see your flame
coming a mile away;
no way to avoid a head on collision
I know all about a bad decision
Tell me boy
do you know how to heal a broken heart?
You think you’ll break it.
I told you not to underestimate me
You are exactly what I need
I see exactly what you are
never tried to change you
never asked for what you won’t give
Come at me and break my heart.
Just leave behind the ashes.
Rush rustling in the wind protruding presence and peace,
“Winter’s coming” a chorus crawling out the bare trees,
The serene silence of winter's as tranquil as
The hush of sweet lover’s dreams,
December came dancing along adorned in diadem of snow swans and bejeweled ballerinas.

Summer days are coming
To take you in my arms
In summer nights, we shall be
Singing our love songs.
When the Moonlight would rise
The sleeping waves of Sea
And your sweet arms would be
Encircling me close to thee.
Summer days are coming
To take you in my arms
In Summer nights, we shall be
Singing our love songs.
I know why you watch
The Sea waves rising to kiss
When the Moon began to pour
Its love drops on the Sea.
Watching the joy of Sea waves
You always come in mood
And then like the rainy clouds
You shower your love on me.
Summer days are coming
To take you in my arms
In summer nights, we shall be
Singing our love songs.
O’ Darling I am waiting
For the Summer days to come
As in summer days you shower
Your rain like love on me.
Summer days are coming
To take you in my arms
In summer nights, we would be
Singing our love songs.

Hooray! First of May!
We knew it was coming, a ritual Dad
Performed once-a-year, still
I always sensed the moment, when we
Were a captive audience, he would
Strike! the air would fairly Çrackle!
Me, my brother & sister would stiffen
In preparation to cringe! acting cool,
While our minds were clawing at the
Car windows
(a favorite spot for him to drop-it)
Mom would blush and feign shock,
While slinging a "soldier boy" (he was)
Glance his way, eye contact
Accomplished...
Ones thoughts would wander, shiver &
Shudder!
"Hooray! first of May! outdoor sex begins
Today!"
The routine changed in timbre & timing
As years moved on, but Dad's spirit never
Wavered...gallant and brave, a true
Gentleman, pirate-to-the-core!
I'll place my daily-am phone call to Mom
After inking this poem, she'll be expecting
It, I won't let her down! a toast to the
Greatest camp-master I ever knew!
Mom'll still laugh a bit! & we'll recount
Dad's bold & brazen yearly declaration!
I hope
Many more times

A teenager with the expressions of a middle age individual
is the wonder-creating characteristic of its accelerating growth.
Dwelling in a land not presented with natural gifts;
it still beat all odds to be a member of the Asian Tigers
and a competing contributor to its domain’s prosperity.
The birth place to the Toilet theme amusement park
and a camp of makeup obsessed men.
The fourteenth day of every month is set aside in romance’s banquet
except that of the fourth month when mourning becomes love’s pirate.
February is for young men, march, three times for the ladies.
Prides in the globally acknowledged Boryeona Mud Festival
and gives socialization a new countenance in the “hoesik” event,
while new standards in robotic technology is climaxed
as prison guards, patrols, anti-jelly fish squad and teachers
actively exist through exciting artificial intelligence.
A humiliating public ritual in a form of crime reenactment,
personality stereotypes emanating from the different blood groups,
a nationwide superstitious repugnance to the red ink;
very cultured to even create a backlash
on Bill Gates’ presidential handshake;
typify a people coming a long way from a turbulent past.
A territory of very bright and brainy students;
the god of the LG, Hyundai and Samsung among others;
and to the largest church in size and congregants in the world.
It is the well preserved garden where plastic surgery strives
all to show an amazing growth once heavily stunted,
suffering a suppression entertained by the comfort ladies;
somehow causing a perspective towards the rising sun
to be similar to the swastika’s view by the Jews.
Despite the Japanese colonization, soviet meddling and North Korean threats,
it’s still showing mental strength to be the world’s 12th largest trading Nation.
black clouds gathering
thunder rolls in the distance
a storm is brewing
Winds of change are blowing.
Can you feel the tension growing?
Discontentment, fear and anger thrive,
while integrity and trust are trampled on.
Yes, an awful storm is coming.
We must not be taken by surprise.
Revolution's heartbeat's thrumming,
people open up your eyes!
It's time for truth and no more lies.

Ocean waves, ships like us, and your spandex swimwear was an atraction for any girl, not in the right state of mind.
It was Tahiti, 1998, no, it was "1999" and thats why "Prince" wrote the song.....
Over that hot, hot summer- my 1960's vintage swimsuit, black and white; floral with clashing purple and pink swimskirt.
People saw me coming a mile away and looked so fasinatingly, at top portion, black and white vintage suit, water, sand, Oh, what a beautiful day.
Yes, The waves when two passing ships meet, that sizzling night on the 23rd of July 1999.
The beach was crowded, buns and sun and hot man flesh everywhere, But I thought of you most, after seeing you near the shore. After all, there was more to you than most in that spandex spedo you wore so willingly and I not to willingly at first.
Perhaps it was the sun that day as I could not stop my following stare of your deirerre,
as your eyes peeled off my black and white vintage swimsuit- flowers on the sand, nearly completing the reasoning for all things in life. Or at least I thought so that new morn after.
I've thought of you so, in many fantasies and some times I dream of being something famous, where you would consider my love for all time true. I dream of the surf, that rigid, pounding of the sea.. You and I, vessels. Yes, ships- we have met, and shall again My Love.
I dream of you deep in the night, I wake up in night sweats, and have to clear my head, (My only ecognition as I open my eyes was the sizzling summer In Tahiti was it 1999, or perhaps it was 2001 for the nights are long yearning to see you once more. You in your spandex bikinis, me in my black and white vintage wet wear, and Dear Kevin, perhaps that is why I am a writer today. To be somebody to you- special!
Will you ever think of me again? Do you truly care for me and me only? Kevin... Kevin Lauer~*! ............................................................................now I'm changing my bed.
The Destruction of Mankind!
Throughout the Bible’s history, you’ll find…
The wickedness and destruction
of mankind!
There were kingdoms that have come and gone!
They took pride, and thought
they were strong!
No matter how strong men make think they may be…
Everyone needs to make plans for their eternity!
There’s many things that people have enjoyed…
But. there’s coming a day when it’ll all be destroyed!
The Bible says that we all have failed and sinned!
What a terrible mess that we find ourselves in!
Our answer and only hope is with Jesus today!
Only he can wash the darkness and sin away!
Only he can bring a completeness to our soul!
And can bring all we need to make us whole!
May God’s Holy Spirit reach out and convict us!
That we all may know,
only God can help us!
By Jim Pemberton
The old steam engine chugged trying to reach the top,
Slowly it inched as the pressure valves were about to pop.
Just a few more feet and it would start its journey down,
And it would then be up to the brakeman to keep them from over shooting the town.
Well it made the top and started picking up speed,
And they slowed down the shoveling of the coal, cause there wasn’t much need.
You could hear those brakes a squealing as they tightened the wheel,
They had to get her slowed down fore the next curve or they’d all take a spill.
About that time dead ahead on those tracks,
Another train was a coming, a clickety, clack.
The old engineer was a blowing on his whistle, whoo, whoo, but to no avail,
For twas a runaway train, with an engine from hell.
A hundred thousand tons of steel, slamming together, makes an awful loud noise,
An on that curve took the lives of that crew, all mighty fine boys.
They had no place to jump, so they had to make this final ride,
And as the news gave way their womenfolk cried.
