For Laura Loo's contest - 'Any Free Verse 150 words or less.'

We drifted not far from shore - a delicate night with supple air entire, black and white until patience sent us grays that rocked with the boat on the slight swells which gradually reflected the star colors azure and indigo, carmine and beryl, sang to us in laurel and rose verdant with coral and mint emeralds peeking between pinks, sapphires that told us of every prayer ever whispered to them. I was coming a long way back that time in the empty park where all I had were fears that I'd never heal. In an instant it was all done and I was found that day I saw your eyes. The moon set in silence beyond the land. A gentle wind turned the boat to the south. Distant rain sent water washing the earth. Just for a moment we touched the surface of all things. I love you. Hello Doug. I love this. How did I miss it. My goodness "slow colors" exactly. May true love always be that. I won't go on and on but I could but it would only take away from your entry. Allow me to say this is stunningly beautiful with gentleness and realness. Yes realness. This entry is timeless in every way. It was an honor to read. Have a wonderful day. Well done completely and entirely.

Thanks, Mary - yet yours are not silly; they are ultra-clean with honesty, and when we write, what is more important than that?

As I can glean from your poem, nature tells us all about it without speaking a word. Excellent write, very visual. John

Thank you, John. The earth under us, the hills in the distance, the sky, the seasons - they mean more and more to me as I get older.

Between sea and sky, the colours which one can see reflected in his lover's eyes...the realization of belonging. Full marks to this romantic poet! ~ Regards // paul

This was nicely done Doug, you have created a moving scene with your words. Once lost until she came, her eyes leading and her love your salvation as two float off towards the eternal horizon. This was beautiful.
