December Diadem

Rush rustling in the wind protruding presence and peace,
“Winter’s coming” a chorus crawling out the bare trees,
The serene silence of winter's as tranquil as
The hush of sweet lover’s dreams,
December came dancing along adorned in diadem of snow swans and bejeweled ballerinas.

I am going to admit it: I had to cruise over to Webster's and look up diadem. That usually means I'll see my 'new' word everywhere now that I know it but somehow, in this case, I doubt it. Your signature, to me, is the odd long line(s) you often format your poems with, do you!. Your imagery is exquisite, anyone who reads this and isn't transported 'there', needs to look up a lot of words. You have true winter where you live? I'm in Florida/swam yesterday. I hope my brain retains my new word.

' December came dancing along adorned in diadem of snow. ' Such a beautiful image to behold. I can see these moments before me, and my heart can feel the serene silence. So many tender emotions within. My best to you, Anne. Hugs, Brandy

Dearest Anne, Great to see you writing my friend! What a unique strange in-between space where this time of year always stirs with a mix of stillness, anticipation, and that hyper awareness that everything is shifting even when nothing seems to move. I’m not always great at letting myself pause, but you nudged me into doing exactly that. Thankful! Autumn Blessings, Dear Anne, Daniel
