Best Clarity Poems

Clarity, clarity, surely clarity is the most beautiful thing in the world, A limited, limiting clarity I have not and never did have any motive of poetry But to achieve clarity.
George Oppen

If it wasn't for poetry,
how would we portray stars of clarity?
Moon would appear silently ordinary,
how would we express that which is contrary?
Verses without stardust shimmer would be horrid,
no metrical composition would sound torrid.
No sapphire skies nor turquoise tides.
No ivory shores nor firefly guides.
No magic of butterflies dancing under moonlight.
A travesty of no lullabies to ease before midnight.
Horizons would appear blank, dismal and dark -
your muted muse would forfeit their spark.

If a poet's conscience suffers a premature death,
how would you honour their quill's last breath?
How would you express that painful goodbye?
No legacy for our words to poetically beautify.
Unable to honour memories of the deceased -
an unwritten elegy cannot praise a masterpiece.

Autumn would just be a modified season.
Spring slowly blossom without a reason.
Summer would bring no wonder in flowers.
Winter would be grey with freezing showers.

Would music suffer from atrocious lyrics,
unmetered songs only lead to hysterics.

Would poetic love exist?
Would our lips have ever kissed?
No expressions to defeat hate.
No epodic justice to fate.
No sweet sonnets to revere.
Shakespeare's world would disappear.
Romeo would not woo Juliet.
Literature students would forget
bards who bled ballads before us -
what would lovers have to discuss?

No angst or alliterations.
No 3am damnations.
No syllable creations.
No lustful flirtations.
An end to narrations.
All lost translations.

If there were only ugly words,
would it be the end of singing birds?

No emancipation of the oppressed.
No catharsis for the depressed.
Hearts would repress and suppress.
Demons would stress and digress.

If it wasn't for poetry,
I would still be a mystery.
I would not speak in rhymes,
there would be nothing to define.
My soul a misunderstood metaphor,
drowning in an inkless reservoir.
Life would become a burden,
as petals die in my poetic garden

and after everything has been said and done,
there would be no Poetic One.

Clarity

untested waters
 ripple,
 strands of light
 flash in the beauty
 of my mind

---

the past dwelt
 in the corner
 debilitating
 disabling
 untethering,
 I was thrown
 back in time

(bad happens
 to the good
 and the good
 happens to the
bad)

visiting sins
 replayed in my
head
 reminding me
 shaming me,
 the circle went
 around

but I remembered
 the dashes of hope
 the splashes of
love
 all that I had
shared
 all that I had lost

but going
 round and round
 the strings of
sanity
 were unbound,
 the white rabbit
 called for me
 reality was paper
dolls
 burning in the pit

I held fast
 as the standard
ripped
 falling into delusion
 I lay in the mire
 for a millennium

clarity returned
 with a song
 the dance of life
 flooded my veins
 my being
 declared whole

---

the clear
 untested waters
 of my mind ripple
 in wonderment,
 today has returned
 with no fear of joy

When rainy skies are gray and sun shines through
Remember to look up for the rainbow
Colors bring clarity to what is true

When things are foggy and it's hard to know
A direction for your purpose to grow
Remember to look up for the rainbow

Give yourself comfort so that you can go
To places where your soul will be at peace
A direction for your purpose to grow

Catch the wind for your tension to release
Carried by the airstream currents of love
To places where your soul will be at peace

Every mountain stands witness above
Positivity fuels strength from within
Carried by the airstream currents of love

Watch the landscape change through every mile
When rainy skies are gray and sun shines through
Positivity fuels strength and a smile
Colors bring clarity to what is true

Sometimes it gets too steamy
Reality insists
On distorting our perception
As this heartbeat still persists

Sometimes it gets too frosty
When the winter comes to call
We scrape to see the road ahead
A strange fear that we'll fall

Sometimes though, there's a new mist
Corrupting twenty twenty
A sadness from a place within
An absence and an empty

Yet crystal clear is memory
Hopeful brightness never lost
As misty doesn't linger
Whether tears, or steam or frost

The garden of the world has no limits except in your mind. Its presence is more beautiful than the stars with more clarity than the polished mirror of your heart. By Rumi

Clinging comely crimson cleome curb cosmos
Sky is nebulous with dusk, owing to camos
Ornaments that balmily flicker in the background
Amid whirlpools of jade, scarlet, and indigo found.

Nothing beats a comely asterism of fall nights
To gaze up at the stars and relish the sights
Space wideness may induce mankind to fear
We fathom how desultory we are, through tears.

Diaphanous moon beams brighten the land
Crafting creepy casts curdling children's strands
But the moon is breathtaking in its own right
With a million-year-old mountains and sights.

Amid a silvery sky ignited by the moon
Lonesome island of stars, in a druid swoon
Streets that glisten with dazzling lighting
Crystals of iridescent amethyst shining.

Efflorescence is diaphanous in appearance
Lawns are studded by ruddy lilac buds entrance
Creepy crawlies in azure wind their way upward
Gazebos are sleek and clad in ivory word.

Wispy clouds start to split or disperse
Nebulous mist of the island, to immerse
Elysian Symphony builds to a crescendo
Regarding the violin-produced echo.

Cosmic bodies aligned akin to pins on a map
Assist sailors in spotting their suitable cap
Waterlilies float, creating a gorgeous scene
Lullaby is sung on an idyllic lake, so serene.

The aurora shimmers with an aurified glow
Sewn from spools of gossamer light and flow
A veiled glade is seen by a translucent moon
Rosewood, wisteria, periwinkle, iris leaf tune.

Elixir of gems at night, shine, and dazzle
Host the discovery of feasible ways of gravel
Quintessence of empyreal magnificent form
Bright kaleidoscope prismatic of stars swarm.

Premium Member Clarity Through Static

I want to be fully unwrapped
within the arms of your heart ~
the effervescent efflorescence
effortlessly cultivating our truth,
with your heat as my clothing,
your throb as my psalm,
your love as soft thunder,
soothing in silence
my mind’s mayhem, malevolence…

But to be your chosen heirloom,
must I turn fears
into flowers of resilience,
mask insecurities with interstellar lies,
pretend to be prepared
for the poisoned persistence,
as if ink trembles not at the
thought of losing the light
that found me ~
weeping on the edge of nothingness?

O lion’s mane huntsman,
my warrior scavenging
through storms and starlight,
come sail with me
to the distant dunes
of deepened devotion.
Succumb to this surreal seclusion,
cloaked in captivating colors
of branching attachment,
where you and I will
face the nefarious unnamed
like Persephone,
strolling between thistles
and abyssal dawn,
oblivious to what blooms above,
the labyrinth of love-starvation,
finding clarity through static panic,
returning to your dream,
where cacophonous control
calms the inner conscience
clawed to the catastrophic
currents of craving.

I am the midnight wanderer
intoxicated on pomegranate’s
forbidden ecstasy,
euphoric amidst the orchid
haze of Hades.
For what is happiness
in the absence
of fulfillment or contentment?
I have long learned
the adjectives to accentuate
peace through pain,
serenading serenity
beneath skies adorned
with doomed diamonds.

So let me stay alive in
the lines of allure,
find lucidity through distortion ~
hope through helplessness,
rise again to a spring
that pulses
for piercingly perfumed passion ...

The perfect poem goes something like this –
Feeling stings, like a bee
Quick as a tear
Just as abruptly as a star’s glowing
A whisper, a sigh, a stirring –
Stars of Clarity…
What it means to truly see beyond
The grief, the longing, the all-consuming
Passion!

The perfect poem is any poem that bleeds,
Not just ink
But light, laughter, love
Signs of life beneath layers of words!

Adding Clarity To Ray Gridley's Limerick

Ray Gridley has a possible diagnosis
Alas, rabbits do catch viral myxomatosis
Since Jan's is a famous banging bunny
Who stays far from field and ANY honey
Energizer Bunny will bang on till unconscious!

Premium Member The Clarity of Eye

Each new day elucidates the night
bringing shadows, allusions, forth to clear
the angst of shattered memory and fright,
opening eyes once shut with nighttime fear.

Each new day illuminates the mind
brushing aside the cobwebs caused by age,
sending feelers out to search and align
with an expanding universal stage.

Each new day testifies to the endlessness
of life within the spin and weave of time;
the immortal Eye extrudes largesse
reel in each floral scent, each kiss, sublime.

All praise the majesty, the all seeing Eye
which returns to us a new day at sunrise.

The bright blue sky and white fluffy clouds,
are slipping far away.
The day is coming to a close,
and it is now their bedtime.
Very soon the huge sky will change,
the sky is getting dressed for night time.
The velvet background will be magical,
with a full shining moon.
Then the "stars of clarity" will appear,
like bright diamonds looking down on us.
The full shining moon,
and the "stars of clarity" will light the wisemen's way.

Premium Member Perhaps I Knew

One slow motion jagged tear
found me after you left me here.
Its wetness still sits upon my face
as I stare at absolutely no place.

What I do live and what I dream
and all sundries fitting in between,
now struggle in a frenzied dance
passing thru, in and out, this circumstance.

My brain is mush circling a clueless groove.
Surely, I need an enlightened next move.
Calm failed to enter when you shut the door,
and life as I knew it quit being anymore.

I simply cannot find my identity.
Maybe it left with you and my clarity.
I seek to ease a primal urge to shout
at frenzied thoughts dashing about.

Perhaps I knew years had grown weeds
while I prayed for fertilized love seeds.
Perhaps I knew time long held this bleed
while I prayed true love would succeed.

The stars of clarity have risen in my heart.
To light the flames that burn through the night,
   and steal away the darkness.
That leaves a glow around your face,
where my eyes will dwell forever
as they become liquid from love
and weave a willowy web of wings.
That fly us to the heart of tenderness,
   smothered in passionate dreams.
Where we'll find the sensual kiss is an invitation,
to travel the red and purple sunsets
   of our horizon
Where we'll share the candlelight of desire
and pluck the stars of clarity,
from the heaven in our souls
Where, as lovers we'll tend the fires of eternity,
   until our last breath

Stars of Clarity

Lost in ebony
Void of bursting astral intuitions,
Alabaster amber stolen,
Abandoned in delirium’s decay
Of dying brown dwarfs
Hoarding lavender purple leftovers,
Hidden remnants of disguised advent,
Ashen sojourner wades through impotent stardust
Numb in faded platinum insight.

Out of grey vertigo
Carmine dwarfs arise to overshadow ebony
In a giddy sense of spangled glitter
When enigmas and puzzles
Step out of nebulas into mystic purity.

Pilgrim, found in neon,
Incandescent cavalcades of exploding chartreuse
Guide ephemeral crystalline visions,
Burnished auroras splash across epiphanies,
Rounded shards divulge silver nativity,
When salient flashes nurture constellations of certainty,
Astral sparks of cosmic scarlet explosions,
And shrouded a-ha’s emerge like incandescent sextons
Leading to stellar sequins - champagne diamonds of clarity.

The Ocean

The Ocean

I hear the ocean beckoning
she calls for me once more
"Come and lay your troubles down"
"and walk along the shore"...

"I'll whisper sweetly to your soul
my words will ebb and flow"
"The waves will clear the cluttered mind
and leave an afterglow"...

"I'll call the wind to soothe your face
a breeze to brush your hair"
"A shell that you can listen to
and take it anywhere"...

"I'll help you find the answers here
bring clarity of thought"
"I'll numb the pain within your heart
that life and sorrow brought"...
