Best Champions Poems

Premium Member Clash of Champions

Two rivals meet after long time,
The battleground set for a thrash,
Defying age, not in their prime,
They're geared up for a summit clash;

It's a tense atmosphere down there,
Stadium filled with fired up fans,
There's great excitement in the air,
Best friends have changed to battling clans;

Combat's shifting from side to side,
Both, champions in their own right,
Every shot keeps turning the tide,
Let's see who wins this final fight;

Now, fighting for that crowning point,
Which will conclude play in action,
Game. Set. Match. What an effort joint!
Roger in tears. Eighteenth slam won.

they have what it takes
like sunset colors on blue
strength guts and virtue

like the orange sun
they are natural leaders
in red robin days

like rainbow colors
they have that extra something
in triumph or loss

Premium Member Menudo Breakfast of Champions

This is my story about Menudo, and not the boy band Menudo
Mexican Menudo soup, known as the breakfast of champions
It’s what borracho’s, and Ricky Martin and all el mundo saludo
Chili mix, cilantro and lemon or lime, oregano, served in ramekins
A hearty feel good spicy tripe soup, honeycombed and hominy
Intestines of a cow, the stomach lining, an endearing word pancita
Who says culinary is always flattering, for it is part of the anatomy

Soup a Mexican woman slaves over, we’re grateful kind senorita
If you grew up with it, whether an acquired taste—it’s the bomb
The atmosphere is what you look forward to on every Sunday
With your familia, and then occasionally Ce Ce’s “friend” Tom
Most of the family erm, drink excessively all night long and stay
Menudo has healing powers, cures hangovers and homesickness
Save lemon for Tecate, after this concoction you won’t regret
Beliefs ring true, this broth is good for you, good for any illness

True, your uncles and older cousins will be dripping in sweat,
It’s spicy blends of seasoning flows through the blood stream,
And that’s why it is topped off with a bottle of chilled Corona
While discussing last night’s behavior, debating it was a dream
Teasing the little ones, and embarrassing they’re sister Mona
Extra lime, and beer for cooling down, served up in ramekins
Menudo, it’s the soup they call the breakfast of champions

Hangovers have come and gone, and we tend to eat less meat
My favorite recipe substitute’s tripe for Oyster Mushrooms
Tasty Menudo I made in many vegan styles, no one can beat
Chopped for texture and spiced up, the unique flavors of legumes
Successful accomplished and asombroso, serve in a bowl and heat

Old CAP'N CRUNCH was hanging out one day
With the bunch at SPECIAL K Ranch
When FROOT LOOPS from the city rode by
With their pay CHEX in their pants

Greeted them each with warm CHEERIOS
Asked them if they'd ever SHREDDED WHEAT
They were full of PEP and said no not yet
His shock was TOTAL and COMPLETE

So he thought he'd show these SUGAR PUFFS
Just how cow pokes get their KIX
He mounted his faithful horse APPLE JACKS
And performed a bunch of neat TRIX

He turned on the JETS and performed like a vet
Wearing LUCKY CHARMS on his belt
Landed on his MUFFET when his horse reared up
Crushed his NUTS 'N HONEY they swell't

Champions Are Made

Another team has made the grade
because champions are made

An unknown team in a Fenway glade
Was where these champions were made

Brought together by many trades
Is how these champions were made

They did mesh this strange brigade
Now this champion team is made

The bearded men would not be swayed
Determined champion team was made

The season long, they would not fade
The stuff of which champions are made

Strength and skill both on display
Showed how champions were made

Season won team on parade
This champion team was made

In 2014 begins a new crusade
A new Red Sox team champion made!

TEAM OF CHAMPIONS ENDURING

"When faced with obstacles, failure is imminent, seek opportunities to succeed" - Floyd Neal

Team of Champions Enduring
we started with differing perspectives,
anticipating a perceived failure,
accepting the opportunity to excel.
Teamwork makes the dream work,
the team focused on its responsibilities,
with an assurance that the workload wasn't a liability
some days were tough,
but the team never surrendered to the challenge
Moving Forward Together, we shared the success
collaborative achievements were recognized with finess

Team of Champions Enduring
faced with obstacles and shortfalls,
when the odds are against you, don't
throw in the towel, use your creative mind.
When life serves you lemons, make lemonade
which accentuated our ability to succeed,
endurance is the key to longevity
inner reflection is the answer

Team of Champions Enduring
we refused to be defeated,
never giving up, yet continuing to strive for completeness.
Commitment is a foundational anchor
working for the common good
being a part of something larger than ourselves
the team rose to the occasion
Team of Champions Enduring, we are family

Proof of God's Love --- We Are a World of Champions

There were millions of other people that could have been here on this Earth in your place, but it was you that made it. It was you against all odds; blind and in the dark, you chased Gods Love and won.
We all love to be Winners and Champions. It breaks our heart to be called a Loser; that's why God made the beginning of our Existence a big race against millions, a race like you'll never be involved in again (millions entered, one (you) and only one (if your not a twin), Lived on, while the others perished. No one can or ever should call someone else a loser (we are a World of Champions)...because no race is more important than the race to Existence, and nothing won is more Valuable than the reward of God's Air, His Water, Grass, Mountains, our Universe, the Ability to and be Loved, but most of all and more importantly...God's Gift of Individuality and Choice.
We all are Winners, Champions of a Great Race Forgotten.

To call some one a loser is to call Our Great Creator and the manner in which we became to be, a lie.

Ivory Towers and Champions

Come out of your ivory tower o maiden
And take a firm step on the ground
Feel the earth beneath your feet
Find strength in your steps
A newness of life can be found

Sheltered and cocooned for too many years
Have left your senses dulled
The mind-numbing repetitiveness of your days
Have long since stolen your smile

Where dear lady does your heart lie
Have your passions eroded away
Have you forgotten that inner child
That knew the importance of play

Your intellect is alive and well
Your emotions steady and strong
But the seasons you’ve spent in sleeping
Has made you deduce you are wrong

Make good decisions, make bad decisions
But make decisions

Love the right person love the wrong person
But love

Sing loud and annoyingly, sing softly and sweet
But sing

Laugh until you can laugh no more
But laugh

Speak truth even when it’s difficult
But speak truth

The part of you that needed rescued
Can only be rescued by you
So be the champion you’ve dreamed of
And may most of your wishes come true

Premium Member The Champions of 2019 Fifa Women's World Cup

Though they don’t have the world’s admiration,
the women who played for my nation
won the World Cup with ease
showing great expertise
and fought against discrimination.

Pretending to sip English tea
and pissing off Trump royally,
Megan Rapinoe and
all her teammates so grand
are A-number one now with ME!

Champions Within Glass Backed Walls

Within the glass backed walls of the squash courts, ....

Eager junior players are busy getting into their strides..
In small groups of 4 to 6, they are seeking to earn their stripes..
Religiously undergoing punishing regimes while in training...
Perfecting skills and flair to better perform beyond all these training...

Within the glass backed walls of the squash courts..

Players are wielding each a racket as an integral part of their hands..
Moving fluidly into anticipated spaces with well measured paces..
Unhurriedly and ever so confidently they execute hitting maneuvers...
One can't help but recall the phrase poetry in motion in their actions...

Within these glass backed walls of the squash courts..

Perspiration drenched players are seriously undergoing racket drills...
Moving swiftly and surely through well drilled routines without frills....
Whacking hard and fast the moving blur of a rubberised squash ball...
Confidently and effortlessly retrieving impossible shots off the wall...

Within the glass backed walls of these squash courts...

The dedicated coach is closely assisting and monitoring his players..
Eagled eyed and confident, he's getting the best out of the players..
Pushing and cajoling, occasional groans and cries of frustration and of laughter...
Help relieve the monotony in this serious business of training players to be better...

Within these glass backed walls of the squash courts..

Young players are diligently sweating blood and tears to excel further....
Endlessly going through technical drills so that their skills be better..
These endless cycles of training and stroke making drills are necessary....
For these young players are chasing living dreams of squash fame and glory...

Within the glass backed walls of the squash courts...

Kiddie dreams of glory and fame are planted in fresh young minds in earnest...
Sporting dreams are cultivated and gradually nutured into driving ambitions...
A number of such dreamers will falter never to taste the ultimate highs of glory...
But one in a while, a shining diamond of a player steps into court, to start a new story..

Within the the glass backed walls of the squash court....

A generation of champions are being groomed to hold court...
Outside the world awaits patiently, who's the next champion to step forth?

Breakfast of Champions

my anonymity is stalking the streets
like a preoccupation. mornings, slowly I creep
into august daylight, filling beat boroughs.
passing the time: digging fake burrows:
motel rabbitrooms don't come with sheets:
boxes gloomy in the dinge; dead-end streets.

dark corners; alleys; clean and replete.
rowers; faces; kept random, entreat
to be shadowed and cut - copied and reprinted:
E. de Silhouette: silk-screen and tinted.
marionette hands are fire-flies nigh night
like acariasis-itchy eyes: broken from sight

watching the downpour:
downbeat and worn
like tire-worm whitewalls:
peeling and torn.

the blanched, arched faces
(trampled like elephant’s acacia)
are garnets staring blankly at me
between the tiny gaps of a wintertime fleece
a paisley studded blanket, wrapped knee-high round niece.

running tubes from great maple: palsied cold saps
berry's blood ulcer pours like paint with no cap
from a bucket it spills: unravels, unwraps.
It splashes my feet then runs red and abrupt;
silvery and smooth, sanguis from a cup.
