Here’s to all my champions, yes you, this is my thing
You are the yam, cocoa, breadfruit, cornmeal dumpling
Pumpkin, dasheen, and potato, in my pot of soup
An excellent, poetic, supportive, pen loving group

You, David Smalling, make my day most bright
With Audrey, you encourage me to put forth a good write
Sweetheart Linda, love her spirit, says such sweet things
Constance, Sara, Wilma, Doris and Carolyn, you give me wings

Carol, Andrea, Thvia, Nette, Joyce, John Freeman, Dr Ram
L’nass, John Loving iii, Poet Destroyer, the best with a slam
Monica, Nikko, Francine, SKAT, HGarvey, Nate, Chris, Sheri, Carrie
Catie, Noel, Rachel, Robert, Matthew, Walayee, sweet like cheery

Susan, Adell, Fabiyas, Sena, Sylvia, Sharon, Ralph, it is true
Barbara, Rick, Diane, Robert Dufresne, it is all because of you
Hai Au Chu, David Byrne, Jayne, Diane, each giving as a friend
Kimberly, Michael, Kevin, not the least because you are at the end

With Thanks always, Joy (Jew)

Sweet Aroma

A sweet aroma enters through my office window.

In the distance I can see an airplane approaching.

I turn to answer the telephone on my desk.

Suddenly I hear and feel a loud rumbling sound.

I gaze out the window and see a plane aimed at me.

Dread consumes me,
yet all I can focus in on is that sweet aroma.

Premium Member Corvette

The most thrilling experience anyone can get
is speeding along in a convertible Corvette
This powerful four-wheeled machine is much better than good
when it’s got over four hundred horsepower under the hood.
Driving one of these gems is moving in first class
There is plenty of get up and go under that shell of fiberglass.
What a sweet time on a warm summer’s day
when I can zoom down an open highway.
Just my sweet attractive doll is riding beside me.
We move along at the speed limit so carefree.
You haven’t driven until you get inside a Corvette.
Chevrolet’s sporty model is the best one yet.
This baby displays her true colors when the flag’s unfurled.
There is nothing quite like her anywhere in the world.

Chapters Unfold

A chapter unfolds
to a place I've known
that's ethier fiery hot
or bitter cold.

Another young lass
who I could not pass
has caught my eye.

Oh the eyes and hearts longing
can play such a sweet song
to a proclaimed forgotten man.

Ditties of lost loves
are replaced with sticky sweet dreams
strolls in the park
and overwhelming beginnings.

Fear has its own paragraph
on each and every page.

This chapter will unfold
to a place I've known
that's ethier firey hot
or bitter cold.

Farah In Syria

In a Farah-way Syrian sea
swims this sweet Arabian wonder,
in a golden garden grows this sweet pea
That shines, soars and sings…no blunder

In a Farah-way Syrian garden
croons this blue Arabian bird,
She’s got rhymes and rhapsodies-laden
poems that thrill the sun, stars and songbirds

From a Farah-way Syrian street
She writes, wooing wealthy words.
In the gentle arms of nature she sits,
writing with a pen that’s sealed with golden cords
