Best Caffeine Poems
This very morning when I awoke, I thought someone had played a joke. I checked the pot, it was bone dry. I checked the pantry and started to cry - no coffee!
So, I got dressed for work...real slow. I had no drive, no pep, no go. I drove to work, barely awake - I wanted to stop but I was already late - no coffee!
I parked the car and walked inside, but when I heard the news I almost died. The vendor took the machine away, and it damned sure won't be back today - no coffee!
The boss said that we should not worry, he'd send for caffeine in a hurry. But when it arrived, in thermos bright, it seemed to lack the usual bite of coffee.
No Columbian or Kona blend, nor even French roast dwelt within. It was a mix, exotic flavors, that only yuppie scum could savor - not coffee!
A mocha-chino-berry stink that no one in that crowd would drink. That morning dragged incessantly, and no one acted pleasantly - no coffee!
When lunch time came we fled the scene of the luke-warm, slurpy, berry thing. We marched down to the restaurant and told the waitress, "All we want is coffee"!
By end of day no one was tired. The caffeine high had everyone wired. I've learned my lesson, oh so well, that without coffee life is hell. And I'm an addict, monster, fiend, and slave unto the coffee bean - yeah, coffee.
Caffeine High
He works like a well-oiled machine
But only when filled with caffeine
No power within
The caffeine is just a smoke screen
He won’t even stop for cuisine
So he’s string-bean thin
Phenomenal woman, Carolyn Devonshire illustrates her uniqueness as poetess in this clever and witty poem “Caffeine High.” After looking over all her list of poems on this site, I failed to come up with any particular poem that I liked better than the others, I like them all, therefore, I chose this particular one. Though “Caffeine High” demonstrates only two of her many skills, passions and unique abilities as a writer, her poems are those that I would expect to see survive the trials of the changing times, and be among the uniqueness of the greats. I have been privileged to know Carolyn for some three years, and have co-written at least one poem with her. Her faith in equality and dislike for bigotry flavors the notion of emphasis in each piece of her work, and never is there any dismissal of another’s ideals.
The poetic endeavors of Carolyn flavor an impression upon myself that I will carry with me as being outstanding as long as I walk through this earthly valley of the shadow of death until reaching the portals of the absolute and beyond. Her type of writing, it’s passionate quality, will definitely be viewed as one that made the current state of humanistic evolvement more tolerable. She has been and her poetry, a great source of encouragement for my own lack in ability in expressions of my own passions in what inwardly I knew were facts of truths that needed written. To a dear friend a personal salute, Agape, John Moses Freeman.

Heartbeat fast
Nerves so high
Senses tense
Mind trembling
Darkness surrounded
I’m turning
From side to side
Blood veins jumping
Thoughts in chaos
Brain running
Stars falling
I’m still turning
From side to side
Time is still
Clocks have turned
Against me
And my mind
Outsmarting time
I’m turning
From side to side
Eyelids falling
Heartbeat fast
Nerves so high
Mind is tense
I’m still turning
From side to side
The day is long
My attention's short
I've no energy to cavort
Business isn't done
I'm ready to quit
Time feels like a bottomless pit
I'm physically here
Mind - absentee
I shouldn't have drank the caffeine-free
Coffee is a drug
It seems small but there's withdrawl
It's hard to give up
~Caffeine~
(Pleiades)
Caffeine is in my whole body
Coffee I can't live without it,it's my morning fix
Can drink sometimes 2 to 4 cups of black coffee each day
Cup cakes and coffee cakes are so delicious too
Crunch crunch I even eat all the crumbs
Cold coffee in a hot summer day is just yummy! yummy!
Contented I sit enjoying my second cup of hot coffee with hazelnut cream.

(Nonet)
I look at the clock and it is late
Time to wake up and start new day
Ticktock ticktock hear the clock
Try to keep eyes open
But can not do it
Need that coffee
Very bad to
Get up
Now

Three-hundred milligrams
Approximately one-hundredth of a fluid ounce
Three-hundred milligrams of water a day, I’d die
Three-hundred milligrams of caffeine after three
I find myself staying up all night
Thinking of you.
What else is there to think of?
How something measured in milligrams
Could have such an effect on my state
Causing me to think in anagrams
Like what my life would be like if we didn’t meet
The letters would all be jumbled
Nonsense, no rhyme or reason.
Maybe I should try to sleep instead of imagining you cheating.
I think of how I’d react if I found you in such a state
But I am well aware that it would never happen
But…
but…
but… if it did
I’d definitely punch you square in the face
Then cry like a child lost in Target
As their most beloved has gone missing.
Even if you left me, you would never really go.
I dream of you once the caffeine wears off
Even if you lived three million miles away
You’d still be here with me
Its as if you have your own special compartment in my brain
Your own chamber in my heart
The impression you have left on my soul could never depart.
I wonder if I have left such a mark.
This poem doesn’t really reek of poetry
Probably because its two in the morning
Three-hundred milligrams still in my system
But I was thinking that if I wrote these caffeine inspired ponderings
Then maybe, just maybe
You’d see how much you mean to me.
Okay, I’m ready to go to sleep. I think…
A tribute to the amphetamine of day
Caffeine in all its glorious forms
It’s legal it’s potent
Nobody hounds you
Scrutinizing your intake
Be it social or on your own time
Beyond espresso and the americano
My ultimate favorite being
Chocolate covered coffee beans
I can’t get enough
I love the jolt they give
Throughout the day
In addition to boosting energy
And stimulating metabolism
Caffeine reigns as a top effective pain killer
And that’s the story I’m sticking to

The blanket slides down
the view in morning sun light
your my coffee start.
Caffeine vapor billows
blowing with the raindrops
the ceiling says
my body wanders
to a part of nowhere
glowing like a warm air
as if it were true
The reflection of the latte under the yellow light
the foam forms a crescent
like the curve of your smiling eyes
Petrichor tonight is so foreign
because only the gentle wind
between your body is familiar to me
I begin to enjoy the thunder
thundering beats
rhythmically
with the same beats
like an album cliché at my fingertips
jumping from time to time
Raindrops intertwined with nostalgia
melancholic rhythm
irony and romance
instantly combined
now flowing away
Hi there, I’m your initial cup of coffee,
The one that jolts your brain out of neutral.
I don’t think you could survive without me
And at times, I know this feeling’s mutual.
It’s my purpose to get your systems working,
To tempt you out from the Land of Nod,
To guide you from the path that leads to brambles
Through pastures that past villagers have trod.
Yes, I am your very first cuppa,
I’m just one of your very best friends,
I try to sustain your brain functions,
It’s on me that your future depends!
I’m happy to stay to the side of the stage
In the shadows of the wings,
I will mingle with milk from multiple brands
Or those thin wooden, stirry things.
I won’t confront your weariness
Or your affair with Ovaltine,
I’m content to raise your consciousness
With a swift dose of caffeine.
So don’t take me for granted
I’ll be there as you grow old,
Awakening your palate
Whilst warming the mug you hold.
