Come Sit By My Side

[Hymnal Measure Structure, a4,b3,c4,d3 with internal rhyme]

Come sit by my side, my sweet August bride,
We’ll speak of the things we hold dear.
Of wind in the trees and fire in their leaves
At our favorite time of the year.

Don’t you remember how deep in December
We’d listen to snow softly falling?
Though faint in the ear its message was clear,
A breeze from up north had come calling.

I wish there were more than just these twenty-four
Hours to spend in a day.
Then we’d go far, our guide the North Star,
	And surely—at length—find our way.

But what to do until then, my dear, treasured friend,
As hope’s often met with dismay.
Hearing all the day’s news and questionable truths,
The will to do good goes astray.

So let’s run and hide, my wise August bride
To a place that no one can find.
On a mist-covered shore we’ll be happy once more,
As we leave the real world far behind.

Premium Member Dingleberry Dew Please

They sent her out for dingleberry dew.
A crazy mission for no one gave her a clue.
Were they orange, yellow, striped, green, red, or blue?
She was a newcomer to this planet too.
She had only been here a month, maybe two.
They said we will send Robot C4 out with you.
He will stick to you like Yabber Eye glue.
They went down Highway four thousand and forty two.
Looking all over for dingleberry dew.
Is this it? She’d ask him for she really had no clue.
Don’t know, he said. But I like being with you.
They brought back berries of every kind of hue.
Some were oozing a bit of blue dew too.
Berry mongers laughed, and threw them a shoe.
She left the planet without ever finding dingleberry dew
But she had a new friend who had fallen in love with her too.
Robot C4, her bestie, who lived with her until she was eighty-two.
Then he went back to his planet, for he was only twenty-two.
A December –May romance that worked for both with a giant yahoo!

On Attack: a Rainbow Six Siege Poem

On Attack: A Rainbow Six Siege Poem
By: Jacob Wallihan

Time to prepare
The drones are on the field
Rolling right towards
The building called “Coastline”
Callouts for the position of the bomb
Not Kitchen
Not Bar
Not Billiards
It’s Penthouse
Spotted the enemies
2 Roamers
Caveira and Ela
3 Anchors
Pulse, Mira, Rook
All spotted picking up
Rook’s Armour
Drone’s all shot
Pick the spawns
Pool is mine
Let’s Go
Spawn in
3 minutes on the clock
A 5 man squad
Montagne with Blackbeard
The hard breachers;
Hibana
Thermite
For Intel: Lion
Enter the building Hibana
Through VIP window
Frag the Ela
5 v 4
Montagne
With defuser
Walks into Guitar
In doorway to Penthouse
Blackbeard watching Monty
Sees the Rook
Reacts late
4v4
Hibana places a claymore
VIP hallway
Runs back to window and vaults
Lion activated “Big Brother”
Hibana rushes past Monty
Lion
With grace
Bounds through bathroom hatch
With Hibana
Picks off Rook and Mira
4v2
Monty smokes
Goes for the plant
C4 below
Sends Monty out the window
3v2
Defuser down
Thanks to Lion
Pulse
Activating the claymore
Flies into the courtyard
3v1
Caviera
Running quietly into theatre
Downs Lion and Hibana
Throws a hail mary
Monty doesn’t react in time
Cav gets the defuser
Over the coms
“OPFOR disabled our defuser”
“Mission a failure”

My Proud Secret

Ever since my parents bought me a Grundig TV for my room,
And every week day unquestioned and without fail,
I've watched the Channel 4 News avidly, glued to it,
From when I was ten when my ship did at last sail.

I fell in love with Jon Snow instantly as a father figure,
A socialist or social democratic who would interpret,
Political and social events in a way that I understood,
Without any superiority or cold, aloof mood.

My best subject at university was marketing,
Came top in my second year Easter class exam
And everyday when I watched it I analysed Jon’s socks and ties,
Until I was 17, I could predict to myself the next days dyes.

This made me so happy and empowered me to continue,
In that Christian fundamentalist world of criticism and guilt,
But the C4 News was my little secret which I kept to myself,
As I was taught not to love things like that, of a worldly, societal lilt.

I was a devious child towards my parents and their religion,
And lived by admitting only to liking that which I loved,
So that they could have the satisfaction of disciplining me straight,
But pass me by as someone who religion did very much hate.

I had my own sequence, mathematical formula in my head,
And the first day I got my television when the light was ahead,
Because my dad used to monitor what I viewed with intense interest,
I did not flip channels somedays, to suggest no deviation was in my head.

And when Krishnan Guru-Murthy joined the show in 1998,
(I had predicted it from his way at BBC news presenting);
As he reported in Newsnight and BBC 24’s current events programme,
And I thought he would compliment Jon Snow and for youth be an emblem.

I'm hesitant to say that I used to be able to,
Predict when he would grow a beard in playful discourse,
But I knew that he would always shave it off again,
‘Cos that concerned, innocent face is not for recourse.

I like Garry Gibbon, love Kathy Newman, Jackie Long and Matt Frei,
And Paul Mason always gets to the roots of the economics issues;
Lindsey Hilsum and Helia Ebrahimi give such good reports,
And Geoff White always excites me with his technology eye.

It All Adds Up -Equation Contest

when a man loves a woman
is how the song goes
it's the start of an equation
how I will hopefully show

man is factor x
yet a man in love is x1
a child in his thoughts
brings it up to c4? a son

the missing link
in this saga is w2
so off he goes to a dance
hoping that W2 will find him too

so what have we got
let's lay it out on the floor
we have x1 + w2 -c4
sure you know the score.

something his missing
this equation doesn't add up
guess it's factor y
let's take a look

X1+W2 (Y} = C4
the missing factor you can see
is Y which stands for !ove,
hope you agree

Sarah Storey was the first disabled athlete,
In the Commonwealth Games to compete,
As an English competitor, and she’s thrice,
Able-bodied national track champion of ice.

She was born without a left hand, entangled,
But she was firstly a swimmer, she jangled,
Then she became a cyclist on road and track,
And is still pedalling strong, not to look back.

She swam in Barcelona in 1992 and won,
Two golds, three silvers and a bronzed one,
Then in 2008, again at the Paras her fifth,
She won the individual pursuit with much pith.

Sarah Storey won Britain’s first gold in the C5,
In the women’s individual pursuit she’d thrive,
And in the C4-5 5000m, C4-5, and on road,
She won each one with a gold that was owed.

In 2014 she founded a sports cycling team,
Which supports a breast cancer charity keen,
And she became a MBE in 1998, OBE in 2009,
Then she was made a dame in 2013, long line.

She married Barney her coach and duel pilot,
For the tandem duel ride, which could be a riot,
And was on the 2012 Celebrity Mastermind IQ,
With Sex & The City, and also has a girl to coo.

This is a thought or an epiphany / but from how I see : confidence is lacking in thee / so I'll shift into gear /

Jon-Allan Butterworth

Whilst Jon-Allan was out Iraq to warfare ban,
In 2007 he sustained an injury, rocket attack,
So that doctors had to amputate his left arm,
But after rehab he continued the sport’s crack.

He’d been a weapons technician in the RAF,
At Basra airbase, and before that Afghanistan,
But he was now on a programme so to quaff,
Any idea that he wasn’t good at cycling’s pun.

He took the limelight at the London games,
When he won three silvers for para-cycling:
One for the C5 Individual Pursuit, sole aims,
One for the mixed team sprint very cunning,

And another silver for the C4-5 1km Time Trial!
Then 2016, and he won gold for the mixed team,
And also a silver medal for the C5 kilo Time Trial
In Montichiari, and so made the Rio GB Team.

Dying In Bolehland

Dying in Bolehland

MURDER SHOCKER: TEENAGE GRANDSONS OF PROMINENT ANALYST ARRESTED OVER CRADLE CEO’S KILLING
??????????
Hohoho....
The many ways to die, they are all happening here in Bolehland...
Cradle Fund head honcho, supposedly an accidental fire death....
Set off by a faulty charging phone in the dead of the night....
But he had had an archery puncture wound in his neck...
Now, of all people, his teenaged stepsons are picked up...
Their father and mother, now the grieving widow, they are arrested...
What a tangled web of deceit must have been weaved.....
In the household of the deceased, a CEO of a fund company...
There are other shocking ways to die, you'll find them here....
In Bolehland, your life can stop prematurely when you stop at a traffic light .....
Bang, bang, bang! You can be a bullet ridden corpse at the wheel...
The killers, they wheeled away on a motorbike, quick as they can...
Some poor chap got called up to MACC towers for questioning...
Only for some mysterious gusts of wind blew him to his death down below...
Yet another unlucky dead, he was found embedded in a drum of concrete....
The most famous of all, more than a decade later to the day...
A glamorous Mongolian girl was killed and get blown to smithereens...
By C4 explosives and the long suffering father has no remains to grief over...
Yeah, these are but some of the creative ways to die in real life in Bolehland...
There are many other ways to take leave from this earth...
And here in Bolehland, these are a few of the creative ways That happened...
It is time the creative script writers of Hollywood take notice...
Hohoho....

Jody Cundy

Jody took an explicit anger rage
In London, at the 2012 Paralympics,
Which everyone knew about, did rage,
Threw his water bottles about, tactics.

He wanted the technical delegate, ICU,
To call the error a sad technical fault,
When Jody stopped immediately, did do,
The gun fired - he said the gates did bolt.

Jody was born on 14 October in 1978,
In England, Wisbech, Cambridgeshire,
With a deformed foot which did await,
Amputation when he was three, aspire.

His parents met others who took part,
In disability swimming with their kid,
So when Jody tried it he had an art,
With the water and in contests did bid.

His local King’s Lynn club encouraged,
Him to become what he could in time be,
And at the Worlds in ’94, he garbaged,
His PB by 4 seconds to gain credibility.

But today he says that he definitely was,
“Never a naturally gifted swimmer.
I just don’t have the build, [but the boss
Is] weights and core strength, [glimmer].“

He won three gold medals, two bronze,
At the Paralympics in 1996 and 2004,
But in 2006 because of this bronze,
He changed to cycling’s ever open door.

He’s in the C4 category and in Beijing,
In 2008, he rode a quick time of 1.5466,
For the 1km time trial to proudly bring,
The gold into the ranks for GBs licks.

Then there was that awful tantrum scene,
At the London games, but he won bronze,
Nonetheless, for the 4km pursuit sheen,
Apologising to the crowd for his donze.

He did compete in the Commonwealths,
In 2014 in Glasgow, and there finished fifth,
But in that same year at the World sheaths,
He got his ninth world title, a WR of pith.

And in Rio 2016 he struck pure gold,
At that event which so badly deluded him,
Four years prior in the 1k time trial hold,
And achieved a PB, much fame to win.

Cycle of Violence

Violence is a Gaza border constant
Israeli towns receive
heavy rain
of missile shells
Man-made hell, Hezbollah air sent
Meanwhile, Mossad
infiltrate the tunnels,
unpacking C4 bundles to fiery rent

Refugee status
is a Palestinian forced Tel Aviv flee
Suicide vested persuasion
have innocent souls
hearing worm echoes prematurely
Divided Jerusalem
stoke hate fires ... a common
epoxy bond emotion,
unifying two camps stuck on angry

Wash the bloody clothes
with every Arab dissent rock throw
Close the Negev windows,
as the fear cactus heat starts to grow

So beware of the prick from the needles:
Love sick twin conscience
grieving in funeral earnest,
with suspicious, interfaith locked elbows

Rinse the tear-stained clothes,
then put the brotherhood violence
on another tumble spin cycle

Peace progress is on a turtle slow dry,
evaporated trust
give oasis enemies another mirage try

Crystal Lane

Crystal was born with a similar condition,
To Sarah Storey who’s the Dame of Para,
And was so impressed by Beijing in 2008,
That she responded to the ad for athletes.

She was already doing a sports degree,
Exeter University, Exercise and Sports,
And so after she was accepted for trials,
She joined, 2011, the para-cycling team.

At Roskilde in Denmark, 2011, her debut,
She took bronze medal in the road race,
And came ninth place in the C5 time trial,
To make her place on para-cycling’s plane.

She participated in the 2012 Paralympics,
And in Apeldoorn, the central Netherlands,
In the 500m time trial C5 she won the silver,
In the scratch race C4-5 she won bronze.

So Rio came at the right time for Crystal,
When she was also taking a sports Masters,
At Loughborough University, ‘cos she won,
A silver, individual, and a bronze, road race.

Gone Are Those Days

By Parizo Van Thulare

Hard as a rock of sedimentary
Groundwrecking as a C4 from the millitary

It was head over heels
Sometimes the clouds went nine
Emotions were on the line
The rain was on strike
Nothing was fine

The Forging of feelings
The Wiping of tears
The walk of shame
Pain with no gain
Endless hours of tossing and turning

Gone are those days
When i felt caged in love
Gone are those days
When you gambled with my thoughts

I used to think you are one
I sacrificed so much but i was taken for none
I was wrong ,Love is not a disease
You become vulnerable when you misuse it

Those days are gone dear
You wont see me near

Dance of Unity and Diversity

O' unity, how beautifully hidden you have become,
deep inside the [infinite] faces of naked diverity!
O' endlessly naked diversity;
You have have made unity dance [in joy]; AMAZING!

(Note: These opening verses appeared in the poet's dream)

O' unity, how amazingly you have become the [precious] apple of our eyes,
since your countless existences, O' our love,
have become hidden, like [countless] grains of sand,
in the equal-making heart of the desert.

And your love, O' the amazingly naked beautiful unity,
has become countless [never-ending] colorful flowers,
in the diversity garden of our existence, O' Soul,
in the unity garden of our Being, O' Beloved.

O' the [tavern] wine-pourer, serve [around the circle] the wine of being [an aware] human,
[because] the dance of unity and diversity is easy.

And I, a single human seed, am lost--in bewildered awe,
given this divine [sufi] dance, that has brought God to dance [in joy].

If you [begin to] see this God-hearing dance;
if you see this dance of [countless] souls with the Beloved,
where would you [then] see problems [O' lover]?
The washing of human eyes and of hearts is easy.

Where have problems appeared, O' lover?
Washing the eyes of the heart is SO easy.

Come, O' wine-pourer! Circulate the cup and pass it to our lips;

So another way of seeing can be found [desperately].
