Best Breaking Down Poems

Breaking Down
Our bodies, like machines, break down,
Their warranties expired,
So slowly we relinquish
Certain habits we’ve acquired.

The jog morphs into walking;
The glass of wine, a sip.
The dinners switch to “early birds”
At places not so hip.

The muscles and the joints get stiff;
We don’t move quite as fast.
A good night’s...

Breaking Down My Walls
You have broken down the wall,
That I put up in my heart...
Apparently I didn't make it strong,
Strong enough to keep you out...
Cuz you got right through it,
Even without trying...no effort...
I guess I am so numb that I don't care...
Just please...I beg of you....don't hurt...

Breaking Down of Walls
Initial separation attempts
Are now in the past
I’m curious to see
How long this thing will last

Confused by new thoughts
And if emotions prove true
Where would that lead us
And what would we do?

My heart and soul are shaking
You amaze me without trying
You seem to really understand
My heart’s intricate...

Breaking Down Barriers
Truly my friends
My brothers,my sisters;
There is no need to search for love, only
A need to break down those barriers
Which restrain you from it......

Breaking Down Doors
As the door opens and behind me slams shut.
It was like someone punching me hard in the gut.
In jail is where I'll be for the next nine months.
This is where myself, I had no choice but to confront.

The doors slammed on all my dreams.
In my...

Breaking Down
You’re scaling an invisible wall
Dissolving statues in desert sands
Please catch me before I fall
Iron grip slowly slips from my hands

Breaching steel barricades
Toppling false regimes I've built
Grounding moors in afternoon shades
Trample on my blooming guilt

Toppling false regimes I've built
Please catch me before I fall
Trample on my...

Breaking Down Barriers
The day has come to hear the inner voice
Once whispering now yelling it out loud,
The time has come to make a simple choice,
Or drown in shame and forget to be proud.
For years it has been tugging at my heel.
Until I kicked it down and turned...

Breaking Down
Caught in the depths of my shadows within
Breathing in the plague of all the vermin

Breaking Down
As I'm standing in the shower
The water changes cold
Now head hid in the corner
Some tears start to mold

But I don't cry 'cause it's freezing
The chilly water just made me crack
Stacked on top of everything
And I try to choke sobs back

I can't let anyone hear me
I've...

Breaking Down Our Culture
Slowly one’s life like my rich ancient culture slowly breaks down/
All parts of my traditional sculpture peace taken down/
I’m a twenty-first century reservation war camp inmate I don’t know why I keep getting the shake down/
I was once filled with change until...

Breaking Down Barriers
It is no small act that follows
no leaps nor bounds
as we are bound
the square, white-washed walls
crumbling, no doors, no sound

but who are we
are we not what one perceives
stuck to our one room box

we break down walls
chains
colour splashes from our minds
deep duck pond greens
clouded...

The Beginning of Breaking Down
The boy ran toward the bedroom door as the smell of smoke rose into the air
The alarm went off and the scream of gasoline echoed into the hall
He ran- jumped- dived as the loudest boom went off
Shaken and stunned he burst to the living room
opening...

It's a Hard Road, and My Wheels Are Breaking Down
I’ve chosen a hard road
One full of slings and arrows
Regrets about what happened yesterday
Anxieties over tomorrow

I’m teaching the words
To children who don’t care to hear
Enforcing the code of discipline
Before morality disappears

I’m walking a hard road
Surrounded by ice and fire
Deciding between responsibility
And quenching my desire

I’m writing...

Breaking Down the Wall
Is this really any way to live?
Just making it through the day by day,
I don't let any other get in my way.
I never even consider finding another to fill the void,
I just allow my heart to die,
I don’t even want to try.
I guess I...
