Best Board Up Poems

Premium Member Greatly

I glanced at him on his knees
donning tears and a robe
wiping bullet and blood off the streets.

He slowly made his way toward
the broken business zone.
A worn carpenter's belt in tow
a soft light was around him
as the crowd began to grow.

He helped the last hatter board up his store.
A nail between his teeth
as broken glass and bottle caps
played taps to a windy city beat.
He then placed a few signs in the ground
that said vote for candidate faith
and said-believe in the divine.

His time was soon up
it was time for him to go
once again, he was called back to
his father's gilded abode.
As he left he turned around and simply said
love one another... greatly.

Premium Member I Am a Storm

I always wonder in a philosophical way
Who I am? Does God have my dossier?

I exist, of this I am sure
The IRS calls yearly asking for more

I dreamed of being Poet and King
Seems one has to be Royal to wear that ring

The purpose of life, well seems so unsure
A night out with me though, is never a bore

I have painted towns red, as I drowned in last calls
I always had company, cute lasses and dolls

Life is full of twists and turns
There is no map as we are led to the urn

I was quite surprised, at this time in my life
To find out my fate is to bring you all strife

So batten the windows
And board up your doors

For I am full of wind and hot air
I shall come from the sea and I am on a tear

I am Arthur, no poet or King
I am the Hurricane, and its hell that I bring

July 4. 2014, Arthur became a Category 2 hurricane Thursday evening. The U.S. National Hurricane Center predicted it would swipe the coast early Friday with winds of up to 136 km/h.

Rejuvenation

Fling the doors open
And let out the stagnant air
Open the board up windows
It’s time to breath fresh air.

Sweep out the dirty corners
And prepare for a powerful rejuvenation
Gather the dust in a bundle,
Empty it in the Pacific Ocean
Then dip four times in the Atlantic Ocean.

Take a stroll along the corridors
Look your enemies in their eyes and
Greet them with a victory smile
Salute them with your mystical love
And set ablaze their self-inflected flame

There is no doubt about this
You will go down as one of the bravest
Solomon the wisest you the greatest
And victorious one

Sound it on the mountain top
Across the rippling desserts
Walk through the market places
The inner-cities, burnt out villages
Busy streets and crowded towns

Visit the little old lady in the tattered house
Located on the deserted side of town
Shower her with hopeful words
Your presence alone will embrace
And nurture her weary soul

Make your way to the orphanage,
Wounded warriors
and the struggling ones
A simple touch with your powerful hands
Will answer the prayer of the weeping ones.

Go to the schools and colleges
With words of comfort and love
Stop over places where you are not welcome
And radiate them with persuasive sentiments.
All some people need is a can of beer,
a cup of hot chocolate or good cheers .

Disperse the spirit of hope,
Perseverance and good expectation
And when night comes
Walk in the streets and sing
Sing with timbrels and cheerful songs
You are an inspirational icon for everyone.

Your rhetoric’s are strong, use it to move along.
Use what works best for you
Negotiations or forgiveness
And climb straight to the mountain top
With a hammer, a sledge or a cable car
Ropes and boots or just the magical you

Silence the poisonous networks
Give them something to talk about
Lift up your injured wings and start to sing
Join with the throng of angels in the grand jubilee
You are strong and ready to fly again.
Tarry no longer because you have won

Raise your banner
And wave it high in the sky
You have just defeated your enemies
With compelling love
And your gigantic wings.

Premium Member Just a Passing Wind

I can just see the clouds riding along the wind
breaking formation, watch a tornado spin
Lifting up houses, then throwing them down
destroying each structure, there is to be found
smashing and crashing around

But then all the swirling just disappears
leaving some thankful and other's in tears
vowing to rebuild, although it'll take years
and hoping that everyone's found
It's just
Mother Nature playing around
Dodo dodo do Dodo dodo do

Down in the keys, the wind seems more friendly
It fills up my sails, makes my boat ride the seas
But then there's a season, the wind starts to roar
we board up our windows, nail shut every door
Hurricanes, you can't ignore

After a while, the mighty wind seem to cease
Humidity rises and so does the heat
searching for water and something to eat
Hoping that soon it'll be found
It's just
Mother Nature playing around
Dodo dodo do Dodo dodo do

Up there in the mountains, the air is so crisp
the breeze is so gentle, like Moms kiss on your lips
and then your informed, there's a fire alight
Sierra winds, have gotten strong over night
Some choose to stay or take flight

But then the wind calms and the rain starts to fall
to wash away memories, ashes and all
It's time to rebuild, should be finished by fall
I'm beginning to like how that sounds
It's just
Mother nature playing around
Dodo dodo do Dodo dodo do

Premium Member Night of the Living Dead

Rising from their graves,
Breaking through the ground,
Raised by radiation waves,
They are coming to your town.

Board up all your doors,
Nail them good and tight,
Or there will be blood and gore,
By the end of the night.

They tear down your walls,
Break through your window pane,
No one can help you at all,
When they try to eat your brain.

Those dead eyes make you shiver,
You scream out with alarm,
Zombies try to eat your liver,
And, chew on your leg and arm.

There is no point to tell her,
That it is just too late,
Go hide down in your cellar,
You cannot escape your fate.

Zombies are the living dead,
They do not easily expire,
So, cause injury to their head,
Or, burn them with fire.

Hungry zombies do not give,
Oh, you better run,
Or you will not live,
To see the rising sun.

"Halloween-Only One Theme...Zombies!"

The Wind Called, "dolores"

"Hide all the babies and board up the windows"
"I am telling you, grab everything and run"
"You can feel her, like a storm that you have never seen before""
"Like a hurricane, that is how she blows"
"The Devil's right hand, meaner than anything under the Sun"
"Watch all the side and nail up the back door"

"A tornado, a cyclone, you have been warned not to cross her path"
"She is the leader, all the demons in Hell are on her side"
"Thicker than soup, She is like the fog"
"She is blowing evil and spreading her wrath"
"They say to mess with her, well now we are talking suicide"
"Why, she is growling and clawing, like a old mad dog"

"A gentle breeze at first. when all is calm"
"But then you can feel her coming threw the walls slow"
"Slithering like an old snake cross the floor and down the hall"
"Not knowing what will happen next, you wait for the bomb"
"Like the wind, you cannot see her, you know she will show"
"When she strikes, she looking to take all"

"She will cripple you, before she tears you down"
"She will torment you, like an evil cat, you are her toy"
"She is a coward and only can prey on the weak""
"I have been tracking this old heifer for twenty years or more, she is hold
up in El Paso town"
"Yes sir, she has more sin than a eight day week"

"See I kept a diary for twenty years of more of her evil deed"
"Told her that I would make her famous and write a book"
"THE HIDDEN HAND OF DEATH, is her little satanic organization
"Thought that most folks just might like to read"
"She is THE HEAD WITCH, a lawyer and a crook"
"Reckon THE GOOD LORD, will show her to her final destination"

Hurricane Epic Flooding

Alerts; emergency evacuation
is advised for people to leave their homes.
Some people stayed;
secured and board up windows,
sandbags against the doors.

Prayers were said;

“We will be OK, no reason to leave.”

 were their replies.

Shadow of darkness slowly crawled over the neighborhoods.
The coarsen tempest struck
 shattering the silent calm,
gales moaned and thrashed
with downpours of heavy rain,
slowly water raised filling every drainage ditch.

In shock, tears start to flow
as they watch the water rise up in their yard
creeping closer to their homes.
The downpour of rain doesn’t relent;
the cursed howling winds get stronger.
Weep holes on the brick siding lets water seep inside the home,
never thought to seal the holes as water trickles in.

The day turns into two, then three, then four,
still brown rancid water fills the streets
eddying around front doors and lapping at windows.

“Why didn't we heed the warnings? “

The water is up to our waist,
belongings float inside our homes!
The streets have turned into rivers
and the water have nowhere to go.
The whole city is underwater
and the scent of cold death is in the air.

Hidden In the Hold

To bear with aplomb an existential
need to grieve unpurposed loss is unkind.
Enmesh in secret space and tragic thrall,
silver threads of death's hairsbreadth, small in mind...
So much improper placement now needed
to board up hidden pain's implosive thuds-
Footfalls on heart's walls now go unheeded.
And a slippery slope's where emotion's mud
drowns and buries sorrow's shuddered spats.
Feelings embalmed in cold- hearted reasons,
Tears' release now has no welcoming mat.
"For the best." Covers death in all seasons.

And yet grief's instinctive power to heal
becomes more powerful with freedom to feel...

Between Us

Between us

I’m waking up after a dream about you
Still, don’t know is it a dream or true
But now I know it was a dream
After my room is shined by a sunbeam.

And I’m still squeezing my pillow
But slowly from the bed, I’m getting billow
Imagine it is your soft body
But in my empty room, I see nobody.

Oh, I want your presence so bad
Without you, my soul feels sad
Your words are only I’m getting from you
I’m seeing your face in the skies of blue.

Will, I ever see your eyes for real
Like two shiny stars from heaven, I steal
I hear your voice, in your message
Without you, I feel like a wreckage.

There are mountains and oceans between us
So I can’t reach you in a few stations with bus
But one day I will board up on a ship
It will bring me to you over ocean deep.

The name od my happiness is Sarah
Which means princess and mia cara
You are everything that loves mean to me
When I look at you, there’s nothing else I see.

I’m living for a day I will hug You and kiss
Until that day that is only I miss
To smell your scent, to feel your skin
Lips on the lips and chin on the chin.

Until that day, I will send you my words
I will get your voice like a song of birds
And I will believe that once you’ll be mine
As now our souls and hearts are aligned.

Own Yourself

Own yourself!
Nagging on someone
isn't going to cut you a shining star.
Reminiscing on your past will only
give you the worst of unsweetened-soured
memories of your life time.

Let it go
Take a step to finding you again.
What was done was gone altogether.

Acquaint yourself with positive thoughts
you'll be surprised how easy it is
to board up that broken door and open
a new one.
Walk thru with no fear.
You're free,
you're in charge of your life.
A whole new you will emerge
glowing with not, but happiness.

Own it and fly!
Yes baby- you own the wheel
So steer it to your own happiness
Because when you smile
you're the most beautiful person to be seen.

Own yourself baby... Smile!

It’s what we had all waited for
What we practiced for all year
Not that I am bragging
But I was the one to fear
Now Sheila was a gammer
And MiMi had the charm
Jinx was just my sister
Not one of them an arm
Not that the game took muscle
It was more or less technique
I had loads of talent
The others – well – were weak
With the board up on the table
We all took our places
I turned to look each in the eye
They showed nothing in their faces
We each took up our squidger
Between our thumb and finger
Placed it on the edge of a wink
And for a moment linger
We were aiming for the little cup
There in the table’s middle
For winks that land within the cup
Each scored a single tiddle
Then “pop” we press down on the wink
And “flop” the wink goes flying
Hopefully right in the cup
For we were really trying
But I missed my first wink
Then it’s squopped by another player
And I can’t play that wink again
Because it’s down at least a layer
We go around the table
Each scoring tiddles fine
I’m playing so darn good in fact
I think the trophy’s mine
But Jinx and Sheila had my wink squopped
And I’ve no play to move it
And MiMi has but one wink left
And boy did she sure groove it

Oh, I had the talent, I had the skill
And I know I could beat them still
But those three girls ganged up on me
Squopped my wink so I would be
Covered up without a play
And that’s how it played out that day
I lost my crown in Tiddlewinks
Beat out by Sheila, MiMi, Jinx

Mdailey	3/8/12

Squidger = circular disk used to propel winks
Wink = circular disk counter in game
Pot = cup in center of game board
Tiddle = point scored by landing wink in cup
Squopped = getting your wink covered by one or more other player's wink

.....Transit......
When the zombies call on you
And there's nothing you can do
You can run and hide
But time is on their side
Corpses crawling
You start bawling
Running too and fro
Where can you go
Cause their coming after you
And there's nothing you can do
Buy a ray gun
But stay on the run
Hope your neighbors got your back
Cause the zombies are on the attack
Lost you friend so sad
He fought rather bad
Now their coming after you
And there's nothing you can do
No reason to fuss
Just catch that bus
Board up them windows fast
Cause this round, you may not last
Lost in the fog
You get attacked by what looks like an ugly dog
And it's clinging to my head
Hoping I don't die on this lava bed
Zombies are coming after you
And there's nothing you can do
Hear the zombies shout
No weapons about
Their coming after you
And there nothing you can do
Running town to town
cause in zombies your about to drown
Searching the sky at night
Looking for the beacan light
Really need that chest.
But the zombies surround you
And there nothing you can do
Hiding in a tunnel
You build a funnel
Machine guns on the wall.
Can't beat them only stall
Cause zombies are coming after you,
And there's nothing you can do

Forgotten King

She sets the chess board up
Moves her Queen
Guards her King

I move my weak pawns
Sacrifice is what's needed
In a strategy that works

She holds nothing back
Conquers all with her Queen
Cares little about her pawns

I lose my Knights and Bishops
Even lose my Queen and Rook
But at the other end do my pawns go

She shouts Checkmate!
Thinks she has won
Doesn't realize that in the end, she's abandoned her King

I look into her eyes and say,
"Yes. Checkmate"
Point to my weak little lawns which now are ghosts from the past

On her end, the end which my pawns have reached
Lie Knights and Rooks,
Bishops and Queens
All surrounding the King she forgot

She sees her folly
In war rage and glee of victory did she forget her duty
With a heavy disappointed sigh,
She knocks down her forgotten King

Premium Member Zombie Apocalypse

Board up all the windows. Lock up all the doors.
Now has come the moment we’ve been preparing for.
We can’t take the time for you to come to grips…
Welcome to the Zombie Apocalypse!

Load up all the shotguns. Sharpen up the knives.
If you have no weapons you’ll be running for your lives.
Keep your sidearm close and make sure you have extra clips.
Welcome to the Zombie Apocalypse!

You can’t keep more stuff than you can carry.
You’re the food source now. You must be wary.
The slightest slip or stumble, you’ll be caught by the undead.
And they long to be fed by the gray stuff in your head…

Hear the sound that freezes the blood within your veins.
The constant, quiet murmer, “Brains……."
It’s just the rugged hero who replies with pithy quips.
Welcome to the Zombie Apocalypse!

The rest will find excuses for some long and lengthy trips…
Welcome to the Zombie Apocalypse!

Home Isnt the Same For Everyone

I hide in my room from the bull this house draws in, and puts out through the people inside. I miss the happiness this house had. I miss feelings welcome, and loved in this house... Its not home anymore.

Home:
1. A place filled with people you love, and who love you.
2.A place you feel safe

Home is where you go when youre having a bad day and you want to relax, let out all you've been supressing throughout the day.
People may ask, "Why do you supress? Why not be yourself?"
You ask that until i start getting comfortable and start showing who i am just for you to tell me im ed in the head, and you board up my walls yourself...

I fear coming "home". Everyone who fears going to the place everyone in their family calls home, has their own reasons.. Whether it be abuse, harrasment, sexually, or other things. If they fear something in their house its not something small.

No ones problems are too small.. It may be small to others, but to that person its bigger than you might think.
