Best Bent Out Of Shape Poems

Paper Clips

Most people are easily bent out of shape
Like Paperclips
Because they can't hold it together
Like Paperclips
My words are weapons so I lock & load
My Paper Clips
I bet your two cents is worth less
Than a Paperclip

I learned on a relic...quite bent out of shape,
rusty and dented..... and not even quaint!..,
An rattle-trap, hand-me-down, that had seen better days
A ten year old's wishes, had faded away....

But, then on my birthday, as I opened my eyes...
There sat a beauty, my birthday surprise
My very first bike.....shiny and red!!
My dreams had come true.....as I jumped out of bed!!!

I tore off the ribbon, to take a good look
No time now, for breakfast, no time now, to groom
I jumped into my clothes, and then burst from the room
Onto the sidewalk, and into the street
Shouting to everyone.. "Will you come, look at me??!!!"

With legs long and tan, I began peddling fast
The sun hid it's shine, the cold wind was brash
Breeze blew through my hair and into my face
With time on my side, I was winning a race!
We were sailing along, I could hear the wheels spin
Over the hills, where often I'd been!

Clutching the handles, pumping my knees
I flew past the graveyard, as I peddled with ease
Far down the lane that circles the fields
With rows of tall corn stalks, all waiting to yield
Passing the warehouse that sold Daddy's seed
I flew past the postman, and the church near the square!
A turn 'round the corner, the train depot there!
Splashing through puddles along the bumpy old track
My legs kept on peddling......with no looking back!!

Didn't notice the dark clouds or storm in the sky
The air was so sweet as I held my arms high
   Was I dreaming? I didn't care...as I glided in time
All the happiness I felt, all the joy of that I ride!
I remember that birthday....that's been hidden inside..
Look at me!! Look at me!! On my red bike, it's me!!
Don't you see??!!! Don't you see!!! ... That young girl was me!!
Like a clock that's unwinding..!! That is me that you see!!
               I remember....I remember....How happy and free
As those wheels spin beneath me
Look at me !!!!!!!!! Do you see??
Free as a bird....it is me, it is me!!!
                          Wheeeeeeeee!!!!

From Me To Me

 From me To me…. Rubaiyat

Live and die, live and die;
Let this day pass you by.
Close your eyes, fear no death,
Let your spirit take you high.

You have the lips I love to kiss;
I am too drunk; it's not amiss.
You are my cup; you are my wine,
Give me a kiss; I want the bliss.

I told her a thousand times, drink, and drink some wine;
She told me a thousand times the wine was not fine.
Drunk you are, she replied, remember you are drunk!
Drunk I am, I said that, but wine is divine.

The Dawn gave the news, "The sun is not rising!"
The moon told the night, "It is not surprising".
We are on the ocean floating on a boat.
No sun, no light, let us start an uprising.
I am sober! Give me some wine!
Give me your kisses, now you are mine;
I am burning, burning with love!
I'm just a man, and you're divine.

Burn candle burn, the Moth is all willing.
Willing to die for love isn't a killing;
Burn candle burns the prospect is thrilling;
Die, die for love. It is so fulfilling.

Tie your cup to a grapevine;
Wait for the sun to shine on fine;
Wait for the grapes to harvest love;
Drink the love that we call it wine.

I am in prison. There's no escape.
My jail, my body, bent out of shape.
Who is my jailer? I call him fate.
Release me, jailer. I can't escape.

Nay, I'm me, Nay you are you, and Nay you are me.
Yay, I'm me, Yay, you are you, and yay, you are me.
I am surprised to see me within all of you,
Then am I me? or you are you? Or are you me?

Love Requires Sacrifice

Would you rather me lie? Not tell you the truth?,
Tell me,,,,is that really loving you?,
If I keep these things from you I would be lying to you,
How much could I love you if I just ignored the truth?,
Should I play along, not care enough to say?,
I'm sorry to say love doesn't work that way,,,,,
Would you like me to pretend? Because that would be easy,
Is that what you want? Because you wouldn't still be here with me,
Love always requires sacrifice, it's not always pretty to see,
I would want you to do the same thing for me,
Don't humor me when you see me screwing up,
If I get bent out of shape, I'll get over it soon enough,
But in your honesty to tell the truth,
Proves time and time again how much I love you,
That small moment of hurt opens my eyes,
I would never give up on our love because you've helped me realize,
I love you always.....

Cliche Heaven

Cliche Heaven

Be it as it may I'll try my hand at some clichés
and address the elephant in the room soon when pigs fly.
It’s a win- win situation, put your game face on, work the crowd
as we wrap our heads around comparing apples to orange.
We are all data driven, with an ace in the hole, stick a sock in it
while stepping up to the plate and peeling back the onion
and easily hit it out of the ballpark with a world of hurt.

Be my team player, run with this, my agent of change
but don’t throw me under the bus as you think outside the box.
We can touch base later seeing where the rubber meets the road
and put boots on the ground, a perfect storm, deal with it.
Here’s my two cents, if it works I'll go off the beaten path
driving route 66 on the road not taken when it’s up for grabs,
and taking a walk in the sun, learning the new math.

That said, don’t put me out to pasture, wait for it,
there’s no sign of my slowing down, its going viral.
These are the signs of the times, take the bull by its horns,
It’s a brave new tomorrow and all bets are off.
Don’t force my hand to be up close and personal
I’m a rebel without a cause and to die for.
Don’t get bent out of shape raising the bar in the winds of change
There’s something for everyone, just another babe in the woods.

Stay tuned, like, duh, as a matter of fact, at the end of the day,
it’s a last ditch effort as you live and learn the luck of the draw.
Pay it forward, that’s the ticket, give and take, get a wake up call,
same song and dance, say what you will, you’re as sharp as a tack.
It’s all smoke and mirrors, just splitting hairs to reinvent the wheel
and walk the red carpet for a quick buck to pay as you go
 Heaven help us,
I believe there's an app for that.

Premium Member The Love Commandment

I am the eternal, your LOVE
Thou shalt have no other loves before me
Thou shalt not bow down to the image of another love
Nor give your heart and homage to any other than me
For I, your eternal LOVE, am a jealous love

I am the eternal, your LOVE
Thou shalt have no other loves, but ME!
For I will visit with vengeance
if you blaspheme my name
and tarnish my image
by loving one unworthy

I am the eternal, your LOVE
and my love for YOU, is eternal

Eileen Manassian

;) Now, don't go and get yourselves all bent out of shape. This is a different take on the first two commandments. I thought I would take it to stand for Love instead. BTW....the apostle John does state, "God is LOVE." God says that He is a jealous God. Our jealousy is based on feelings of inferiority. We see what others have that is lacking in us, and we burn if we think our loved one is appreciating someone else. However, God's jealousy is based on superiority. He is the best there is, so when we give our love to another, it rouses His jealousy, for He knows we will NOT be satisfied. Isaiah 52: 2- "Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and you will delight in the richest of fare." God insists that He is the best there is.

Taking that concept, I turned it to be the voice of a lover speaking to her loved one for she KNOWS...that there is no other love that can match hers. Too much? You tell me!

Premium Member The Pen

Tucked away feeling safe in the notebook's metal binder
Waiting; the pen thinks of the times spent with the poetess
She would slowly, gently remove him and caress the arthritic padding
Maybe even place him against her soft lips, then
Begin writing upon lined pages
Where his black ink came alive
Each word formed in rhythm with her thoughts
How the pen loved being the vehicle to convey her every thought

Oh no! Here comes the evil man who took her away that night_
He picked up me and her notebook slammed us into his truck
Please, God, I pray don't let him use me to write another dark shady list

Aughh!! I've been ripped from the ring of notebook
Gripped by the aggressive, hateful man
Almost broken by his powerful muscles
The notebook's metal binder pulled and bent out of shape
He with evil and hate etched into the lines of his face, clicks
My point comes out into the darkness of night
Please don't let my ink flow onto the pages so pure and white

The writing begins but the ink doesn't flow smoothly upon the tip
Rope
Duct Tape
Hacksaw
Shells//sputtered ink refusing to write
P

The pen with heart aching is thrown far away landing in a dark corner of this room's evilness

I'll never be caressed by the poetess again

Please God don't let him kill her when he returns

Gods Brilliant Purpose For You

The next time you feel like GOD can't use you, just remember.

Noah was a drunk
 Abraham was too old
 Isaac was a daydreamer
 Jacob was a liar
 Leah was ugly
 Joseph was abused
 Moses had a stuttering problem
 Gideon was afraid
Samson had long hair and was a womanizer
 Rahab was a prostitute
Jeremiah and Timothy were too young
David had an affair and was a murderer
 Elijah was suicidal
 Isaiah preached naked
 Jonah ran from God
 Naomi was a widow
 Job went bankrupt
 Peter denied Christ (3 times!)
The Disciples fell asleep while praying
 Martha worried about everything
 Mary Magdalene was promiscuous
the Samaritan woman was divorced, more than once...
 Zaccheus was too small
 Paul was too religious
 Timothy had an ulcer....

AND
 Lazarus was dead!
 Now! No more excuses!
God can use you to your full potential.
Besides, you aren't the message, you are just the
 messenger.
 And one more thing...

1. God wants spiritual fruits, not religious nuts.

2. "Dear God : I have a problem. It's me.

Answer from God: " My Dear Child: I have the solution. It's Me! !"

3. Growing old is inevitable ... growing UP is optional.

4. There is no key to happiness. The door is always open.

5. Silence is often misinterpreted but never misquoted.

6. Do the math .. count your blessings.

7. Faith is the ability to not panic.

8. Laugh every day. It's like inner jogging.

9. If you worry, you didn't pray. If you pray, don't worry.

10. As a child of God , prayer is kind of like calling
 home every day.

11. Blessed are the flexible for they shall not be
 bent out of shape..

12. The most important things in your house are the
 people! ..

13. When we get tangled up in our problems, be still.
God wants us to be still so He can untangle the knot.

14. A grudge is a heavy thing to carry.

15 He who dies with the most toys is still dead.

Have a great day!!! The SON is shining and He
 can certainly use you!.

Little White Shoes

i grew with my sister for months upon end
squished up and squashed in beside my best friend
we held strong together until we were due
i knew nothing at all of little white shoes

sweet tiny arms stretched to hands, fingers, thumbs
a button like nose and a cute teeny tum
fully formed legs but my feet were confused
what is this i hear about little white shoes

a foot that had turned in, faced the wrong way
bent out of shape in the womb while i lay
will walking be normal, a growing mind mused
it seems i will need some little white shoes

soon i got painted in bandage and paste
a casting from tip toes to the edge of my waist
cutting it off at the end of week two
they measured my feet for little white shoes

my leg it looks straight and where it belongs
but sorry they said your bones still aren’t strong
as doc went right through all the don’ts and the dos
ten tiny toes scrunched in little white shoes

mommy and daddy in sorrow and pain
they looked at me sadly and could not explain
why it was needed, deepened their blues
that life would begin wearing little white shoes

wait, can you hear me, i won’t fall behind
i’ll kick with my legs till those feet are aligned
they’ll ache and may bleed, perhaps leave a bruise
there’s no holding back in my little white shoes

i’ll crawl like the caterpillar who’s not scared of birds
and run like a buffalo catching up to the herd
crazy i’ll bounce, leap and box kangaroos
showing my spirit made with little white shoes

but right now i’m sleepy, legs are worn out
starting tomorrow i will kick more, no doubt
so lose all your worries as i fade off and snooze
i’ll be so much stronger for little white shoes

Forgiveness

When you're hurt by someone you love and trust
You become sad a jumbled mass of nerve- crushed
You cover your bleeding self with a crust of smile
Heart aches tears roll and you knock him a country mile

It is easy to hold a grudge and on flame with anger
You are swallowed by bitters and cannot muffle the banger
You are wrapped up in blues and sun is hellish moor
You feel the chill of life and monsters on the spoor

But you see the other end they are bent out of shape
They are in pain and act up in the minute of scrape
Put yourself in his place and think of deadly hours
You can find a ravished land where is no heaven-showers

So forgive him be one with him it'll cure your scar
"I forgive you brother let us enjoy the morning star"

Sick Employee Explaining To His Friend His Common Cold

THE COMMON COLD

Have you ever felt like you were going to die?
And you knew good and well the reason why;
and as you got sicker and sicker;
and the heavy gloom grew thicker and thicker,
it began to seem like the very end,
so I decided to call my very best friend.
And when I called him I told him
"I think that I will never see
anything again as lovely as a tree;"
and he sighed because
he himself was feeling a little sad;
and he said "Cheer up, friend,
it can't be that bad!"
And I told him for sure, for sure it was.
But I got no sympathy
as an injured person does;
and I started to feel bent out of shape
and even mad. E-gad!
And I began to think that that friend of mine
was a bit of a cad.
And then suddenly my temperature broke;
and I cracked another one
of my world famous jokes;
and my friend laughed and snickered and told me
he thought it was one of my finest;
and I said no it wasn't
and thanked him for his kindness;
and then when I hung up my phone,
I smiled, sat down and knew that I would live forever,
because a dying person never has enough energy
to be that clever.

Facebook Friends

Why does one have one bazillion fb friends…
Many not even know their face or name.

People Like it--Share it--but did they
Open the link or watch the video—first…
It may have not been what it seemed.
Everything on the internet is not real,
Be very careful what you believe.
People air their dirty laundry.
Pull their shirts up and pushing paints down
Thinking they are hot and need to show off.
Bathroom selfies are ugly even if you are hot stuff.

Remember the saying get a room…
Take all the mushy stuff off your wall and close the door.
Then there are the post about how great some girl’s man is.
Looks like a copy and paste—from last month’s Great Man…
Maybe he was not so great after all. Wonder how long the next one will last.

Do you ever go back and look at your posts.
Do you even care if you look like a joke.

FaceBook is not so fun anymore.
I have reduce my use--I am down to 28 friends.
And I know each one of them by name
And something about them.

People get offended, just plain bent out of shape.
How dare you unfriend them--
This seems to mean you are mad at them…Really…
Hard to be mad at people you never speak to.
If I were mad at U--you would know.

Family or not I don’t care--I have had enough.
Most are too busy for a real visit anyhow.
You know the kind—
Where you actually sit in the same room without a screen.
Speak words out loud and listen with your hearts.

I do not want everything in life to all happen
In a Click--On a Like--or With a Share…
Time to move on---Facebook is just dead air.

Premium Member Car Trouble

My front end needs alignment and my rear end sags a lot
My vinyl seats get cold in fall; in summer they're too hot
Beneath the seats; old french fries, pennies, napkins, Laura Scudders
My fuel intake is kind of rough, sometimes it coughs and sputters
My lights are growing dimmer and my gas tank's sprung a leak
My steering wheel's bent out of shape; my windshield wipers squeek
My engine's losing power and my tires have lost their tread
My spark plugs all have lost their fire, my radio's gone dead.
My axle's looking fractured, and my frame is rusting through
My paint job's getting faded and my brakes are fading too
My oil is getting grungy, my speedometer flat-lined
My A/C blows warm air and my transmission tends to grind

This car of which I speak is ME (in case you didn't know)
It's running rough, but still it gets me where I need to go
These classic wheels still get around - they just move r e a l l y s l o w!
