Best Banishes Poems

Premium Member Whisperings of Guilt

When your heart shuns flattery's lies,
it opens and lets the truth in.
And time mutes the varied voices
fear once amplified deep within.

You know of love's magic through dreams,
where hope's crumbling walls get rebuilt.
And the sanctuary of sleep
banishes whisperings of guilt.

Your mind's a fantasy playground;
filled with flashes of second sight.
And skeletons of memories,
time's acid tears, have bleached bone white.

Tricksters and Angels coexist;
within echoes of silent screams.
And weave wishes with silver threads;
in reality's world of dreams.

Tricksters spin what you want to hear
their prime motivator is lust.
And like a whisper in the wind
their words are not tethered to trust.

Angels detest the emptiness
that eats away at lonely hearts.
And try to fill your heart with smiles;
they gather as each new day starts.

Premium Member My New Name

She gave me a new name that feeds my soul
when others label me, this makes me whole
from heritage is where she drew the word
I must confess this name I'd never heard

Aneolani, what endearing name!
to what it means, I cannot lay a claim
a "breath of heaven", oh, what pure delight
that she thinks this of me makes darkness bright

the name is more befitting to her heart
she stood by me when I was torn apart
And though she's far away, I feel her near
My "Fereshteh", she banishes the fear

My name for you is ANGEL, can't you see?
For you bring paradise so close to me

Eileen Manassian

This poem is dedicated to my dear friend, FJ Thomas who is no longer part of this community. FJ recently sent me a message saying that she has given me the name Aneolani, which in Hawaiian means "breath of heaven". I know I am not deserving, but I can assure you that I will treasure that name forever. I, in turn, have named her Fereshteh, which in Persian means ANGEL. FJ is the one who gifted me several Premium memberships and a Life time membership. She is the one who sent me a tiara and three crowns via post to Lebanon. She is the one who makes me believe in the goodness of people. To say I love this woman is an understatement. I'm sad we've lost her poetic voice here. She writes with fire and power. She is all I admire in a woman: strength, intelligence, and spirit.

Premium Member Love Levies A Toll

Once pierced by Cupid's arrow,
love's the only thing you feel.
For hope banishes all pain
to the fringes of real.

As euphoria floods in,
sparks spontaneously start.
And a warm sensation stirs;
in the cockles of your heart.

Forged upon desire's anvil,
fantasies burn hot as coal.
And tides of hope ebb and flow,
in a lonely heart and soul.

Freed by the passage of time;
anxieties drift away.
And though love levies a toll,
lonely hearts willingly pay.

Spring Returns

Of all the blooms that herald spring's return,
The crocus reigns supreme, a regal sight,
As if the earth has shed its wintry stern,
Its vibrant hues a welcome, bold, and bright.

The petals, delicate as morning dew,
Unfurl like silken ribbons in the breeze,
Bring hope and joy to all that's come anew,
And dance upon the meadow with such ease.

Like tiny cups of hope, they dot the land,
A promise of the life that's yet to come,
And when the snow has melted, they expand,
A symphony of color, one by one.

So let us savor every crocus bloom,
As spring returns and banishes the gloom.

Premium Member Bells

Bells

Solitary heart, newborn in brooding silence,
Steps on a cluttered path
Through elms and boughs of broken limbs,
In a pungent, evergreen hush
Absent of astral cacophony
That falls like mute pennies from wishes,
No buzz nor whirling wings
Disturbs the tacit spell
Until a faint and far-off chime
Brushes against my startled heart
Like the flutter of a butterfly kiss
For at my feet coral bells harmonize
With snowdrops in strings of chimes
Awakened by the breath of angel wings -
Music born of stardust carried on wind chimes
Banishes black spells in lyrical pinwheels,
Melodic whirligigs ringing in silvery silk jingles
Like crystal icicles brushed by soft winds -
A carillon of the winter angelus
Pealing in effervescent tiptoes to remain.

Premium Member Enchantress Spring

My eyes to something beautiful are drawn
up past the peaks where clouds of pink are swirled.
I take up my pen seeing her again.
It’s the Enchantress Spring I look upon.
She stands with long hair streaming in the wind
of a glorious, bright, beautiful dawn
as the temperate breeze embraces her.
She banishes harsh days. Winter is gone!
Bird song and lushness she conjures the world.
Seeing her again, I take up my pen
to capture all the magic Spring brings on.

Fathers

Fathers

A father is someone who holds us dear, under a watchful eye he keeps us near.
He protects us from harm and banishes fear and makes our problems so very clear.
Should we travel in the wrong direction a father is there with a loving protection.
If we are lost and cannot find our way look up dear child he is there every day.

Quote: "Reflections of pink, and gold on heaven’s floor,
a hint of memories that came millenniums before,
and the radiance of God’s glory, eying from behind the shore,
is a new dawn, for our taking."
______________________________________________________________

In the world of dreams, where hopes reside,
Where fresh beginnings softly collide,
Whispered in the wind, gentle lore,
As the radiance of God's glory will pour

Reflections of pink and gold on heaven’s floor,
a hint of memories that came millennia before,
With a glint of God's light behind the shore,
stands for us as a raw page, eager to explore.

Eying from behind the shore's embrace,
A recent dawn emerges with boundless grace.
In this realm of dreams, where hopes reside,
A firm chapter unfolds, with promises wide.

Economic developments, a canvas to rearrange,
Brushstrokes of progress, rearranging the range.
Wheat prices are high, a harvest delight,
But misery rose, casting shadows in the night.

Inflation grip tightens, a burden to bear,
Yet hope lingers strong in the realm of dreams' air.
For in this land, where possibilities bloom,
We strive for a future that banishes gloom.

The struggles we face,
Are but stepping stones in this vast space,
In the realm of dreams, where hopes reside,
We find the strength to overcome each tide.

Though challenges may come, such as storms at sea,
We navigate with courage and unity.
For in this realm of dreams, where hope resides,
We find the strength to rise and stride.

We embrace the fresh dawn, so divine.
With eyes fixed on the horizon's gleam,
We step into the future akin to a dream.
In the realm of dreams, where hopes shine

Wheat prices are high, but hearts are strong.
We rise above; together, we belong.
Misery may rise, but so does our will.
To create a world where all can thrive and fulfill

Premium Member Path strewn with rose petals

We watch in wonderment, light dawn in us,
even as we rest in peaceful repose,
distanced from thought forms, designed to nonplus
our caged consciousness, fragrant like a rose.
God dwells in our heart, ego in the head
and we have been given freedom to choose,
by which impulse we prefer to be led,
shaping our life upon which we then cruise.
If truth be the filter distilling thought,
God’s will is enacted by us on earth,
elixir of love untying heart’s knot,
whence we surf waves of fate bubbling in mirth.
Silence is the path we’ve embarked upon ~
With each breath intake, we’re again reborn

With each breath intake, we’re again reborn,
looking neither back nor ahead in time,
outcomes any, nonchalant is our yawn,
since there are no peaks which we wish to climb.
As the light of God ensouling this form,
body-mind is but like a car we drive,
thus with strobes of love and light we conform
and with pure intent, flame of truth revive.
Content as we are, there is no seeking,
for we are a dweller of the vast void,
heeding whispers of God, in us speaking,
obeying which, delusion is destroyed.
Rebel, a nerd, we follow not the herd ~
For us, Om is God’s gong, His holy word

us, Om is God’s gong, His holy word,
a throb that arises all on its own,
divine magnetism by which nodes are stirred,
benediction bestowed on us alone.
Suffused with cool heat from head till our feet,
we slowly begin to metamorphose,
aligning presence to the cosmic beat,
dance of delight, striking a joyful pose.
In timeless time when ego has capsized,
transcending space-time, we as living light,
meet God face to face and truth’s realised,
becoming the flame that banishes night.
God’s touch is love; we’ve boarded His bliss bus ~
We watch in wonderment, light dawn in us

Premium Member Quote Me Rumi

As breaths sink into the pool of dim nights
The wicker of angst grates more than I can bear,
More a fading hope lost in pathways, cracked
By utter alienation from riddled thorns…
Yet, an inner candle banishes doubt,
A lucent halo gleaming ever so near
Though it knows not my name, it knows who I am,
It guides a taper of faith with lit intuitions made,

Until peace glows in my soul , telling me I am home.

If Mahatma Were Alive Today

He would have dissolved the congress party
Would have stopped at once all its festivity
Certainly would have gone on hunger strike
And, would have, launched a blistering attack.

He would have wholly banned the sacred khadi
That some time ago symbolized utmost sanctity
According to him it stood for human dignity
And no present day politician is found worthy.

He would have removed all sorts of reservations
And would have urged people to spurn such sops
Encouraged developing self respect minus props
To earn bread thro’ honest labor of sweat drops.

He promptly would have stopped all pensions
At the moment enjoyed by the freedom-fighters
Would have told them to return the allowances
As serving the motherland calls for great sacrifices.

He would have fought against all injustices
Would have put full stop to discriminations
Which divide the people and the human race
And create a schism in a fragile social order.

He would have banned entry of all the Mnc’s
And encouraged forcefully all rural industries
Making the village development a focal point
That aims for growth and banishes unemployment.

He would have stoutly advocated family planning
Convincing the public to practice non-indulgence
To help the nation prosper with self-reliance
And avoid facing consequences of dependence.

The state of affairs is so stomach-churning today
It is good that he attained martyrdom on that day
Were he alive to witness the present day nonsense
He might have sought the slayer pleading death.

You'Re Not Welcome Here

You're Not Welcome Here

When you go to meet your maker, and He says, " How Do You Do?"
Then He says, quite sternly...
"Just...Close Your Mouth...I Know Men Just Like You!"
Whenever you saw a snowflake fall or a twinkle in an eye...
You were being given a chance to become a better guy.
Although, it severely pains me, you never found your way.
And now I must tell you...
Turn Around and Go...the other way.
For you are being punished, for all you have lied to, hurt, used, and taken advantage of.
And most of all for the Innocent that you have blatantly, disregarded.
With horrendous spite and malice, with a smile upon your face.
For they are the True Innocent in the Totality of Life.
Don't think that you can say anything, that I may want to hear.
For I know you far better than anyone could, even more than you think you know yourself.
Your cheating, lying, using, ways are what Banishes you from here.
So turn around and start walking...
Down each and every stair.
And you need to just remember.
Your kind is...
Not Welcomed here...

Premium Member Burning Flesh Part 2

The angelic answer of the Almighty Lord comes swiftly

As Archangels Michael and Gabriel with their Band of
Burning Flesh - The Devil’s own

Angels enters the earthly plane to confront the Hellfire
vengeance of The Devil and His Dragon as they reap and
sow their evil upon mankind, and with a sudden determined
fury Michael does fatally smote The Devil’s Dragon
while lopping its head off and sending its soul back to Hell
while Gabriel banishes the demon forces waving his wand!

With all this Lucifer knows with all due certainty that He
must return and rejoin His evil minions who lurk in the
infernal regions of the Earth, knowing that he’s lost once
more to the Almighty Lord in another struggle of Good
versus Evil and has now been deprived of his most
prized pawn of death and destruction—His very own
Dragon whose blackened soul suffers now forever in Hell
And can never be reincarnated again in its bodily form!

Premium Member As Days Grow Short

As days grow short and sunlight fades
Nature’s hues shift from bright to grey
in midst of plague, darkness pervades
the birds fly south but we must stay.

Together we will make it through
though days grow short and sunlight fades
our faith stands strong, our hearts are true
and so shall break midwinter’s shade.

In blackest hour when doubt invades
despair creeps in and all seems dire
as nights grow long and sunlight fades
strike flint to light the solstice fire.

All gather round our newfound light
quaff winter ale, sing old ballades
till dawn banishes longest night
as sun grows strong and darkness fades.

Money- the Poisonous Honey

As powerful as an earth tremor that can tear the clinged earth plates apart,
As strong as a lie that can break the glass of trust into pieces,
As significant as a plastic face that can easily wipe out deformities,
As realistic as a fake smile that can turn twinkling eyes into an endless ocean,
As terrible as the hunger cry of an abandoned child.

Dangerous to the extent of rising forest fire,
Decisive to the extent of a fake friend,
Dominant to the range of an unethical political voice,
Indecent to the core of an uneducated mind,
Unexpected as the danger of a shipwreck.

As menacing as -

a brick of betrayal that could break the brawny wall of honesty,
one toxic drop that could turn His adorable Adam into a lump of ash,
a single fire spark that could snatch the
food away from the innocent forest life
a luring pitcher tube that could melt the little life in its juices.

The root of vengeance
The seed of sorrow
The decimating desire
The minacious avarice

And that rules the kings,
Governs the supreme power,
Mortifies the stony broke mob,
Banishes even the brilliance and virtuosity

It's not just a piece of printed paper,
Not just a coin of stamped metal.

Salute to you dear specie
Kudos to you dear penny
You are Omnipresent, Omnipotent and Omnificent.
