Premium Member Band of Bunnies

As the sun appears from its winter hush,
earthy meadows now appear green and lush.
As its refreshing rays begin to peep
animals awaken from their deep sleep.

A band of bunnies hop to spring's delight,
dancing among flowers yellow and white.
With small fluffy tails and ears soft and long,
seems like they're dancing to a secret song.

Naughty rabbits nibble on tender shoots
and chase each other in joyful pursuits.
Skipping around lawns that need to be mowed
It's the happiest they've been since it snowed.

Their antics may not always seem funny,
but it must be great being a bunny.

One Demo Remaining

Wake up every morning,
Knowing it will be the same;
Feel an endless longing,
Inside a rage that can't be tamed.
Haunted in my thinking,
I let my big chance pass;
And with it all believing,
That my song would always last.

Invited to 'The Boot' to hear a band,
Saw a flicker of what I used to be;
A young man lost in his music,
Yesterday that man was me.
I remember making melodies,
The world was in my hands;
But it slipped through my fingers,
I had to grow up and be a man.

Let my hopes just fly away,
All my dreams of entertaining;
Now I'd give any thing to know,
There's still one dream remaining.

Sitting at this restaurant patio,
The guitar's magic in his hands;
His voice is smooth and effortless,
Oh how I wish I was that man.
The joy of being lost in the music,
Alive, young at heart, and free;
The tapping feet and smiling faces,
To see how good your song can be.

Let inhibition just fly away,
He lives the dream of entertaining;
Looks out at the admiring crowd,
Says I got one demo remaining.

Play your songs for all their worth,
Never let them go;
The world is your audience,
Give them your best show.
Don't let your chance pass you by,
You can't stop believing;
Life is in the music,
And love is in the feeling.

Let inhibition just fly away,
I took the one demo remaining;
My soul moved by the music,
Tonight my dream reclaiming!

~Lyric Man

Note: When I was a young musician I had an old guy in the crowd who was really into our set. On a break, he told me that he was just like me years earlier. But he listened to voices telling him he had to grow up and let his dream go. This song is through his eyes. Never let anyone take your dreams. They are real. And they are the secret to really living!!

Band of Gold

A band of gold is all she wears--
no need for diamonds or fancy wares.
Simple, yes, but rich with grace--
for when it slipped upon her hand,
two hearts found their sacred place.

Band-Aids For the Heart

the blood of love leaks out
through this punctured
saddened wound
bleeding hurt unspoken
cries for help unheard,
no surgeon could ever help
the shocking pain of but a word

how one so casually inflicts
such wounds upon those
they have once told
of their undying eternal love
held tight those two bodies
as she wanted so to hold

yeah, love can be quite nasty,
so disrespectful of your heart
and torture you forever
until from life, you should depart

Part 1  of  2

And the Band Played On....Part I

Piranhas, within a canaries cannibal world....

Feasting upon the flesh, of another innocent and vulnerable life

Delivered by the hands of darkness' entrenched; unknowing but willing, messengers of woe!

In hopes of crippling and destroying, by means of ridicule, guilt and shame

The subtle and not so subtle, of the spiteful and scorned....

Chatterings like arrows, from their poisoned bows

Within comments and verse, and their opened air words

Always the same-looking for their entrance, to bring another to their knees

To evoke their own will? These amissfully mangled and subverse desires

Within, these shatteringly tainted dreams....

Relentlessly they search, for the Achilles heel, to crumble yet anothers hope!

Traveling through these mediums of morbids main, and fluttering hearts....

In through the side doors, and along the corridores, via way, of the shadowish mind

Enter the sublimes of deceivings presented, before all of Heavens sight!

While as half closed eyes stand in silence, all about, within muted watch....

Reminding myself of a case years ago; where a young girl was beaten, stabbed and murdered

As at least a dozen different people, cowered within their rooms

Amid her desperate cries, beggings and pleas for help; help, that would never arrive!?

So such it seems so very often, among many within this society in which we live....

Whom turn their backs and avert their glance; while bowing their heads, and walking on by

Back, into their own blackened holes!....(Cont)

Premium Member Like Violins In a Marching Band

I hear them on the television,
like I have a choice,
that's flat-out all they show these days:
Politicians
with their elucidations
tangled as Grandma's yarn.
Honest Joe, explicating why I'm beggared;
"It's your own fault, my good friends,
frankly, we need bold solutions"
they boom;
then hike the price of gas.
And the voices of we, the people;
lost
like violins in a marching band.

Premium Member We Go 2 War -Living In The USA

I had the worst terrors last night
My mind was in a gruesome sight
The ‘ol  apocryphal scene
Insighted by the new regime

Migration bill stirs fear among
Farmworkers chant that  It’s Wrong!
Phone app saves Honduran journalist
Can’t go back she’s on their death list
Can’t walk ‘n get food without stress
ICE is cold, enforcing arrests
Or anywhere, nonetheless
For a green card is meaningless

Now a tourist destination
Gaza's newest sensation
Take over plans for a Riviera
Palestine people’s tierra*
Taken; territory sovereign
New rich owner YOU ONLY gain
Who be the beneficiaries
Billionaire contemporaries

For undoence he’s called a hero
Those sacrificed their life for, zero
Those fought for everyone’s freedom
In vain forgotten in this new kingdom
Unbeknownst me how it plays out
Living in the USA, peace-out

Premium Member My Blue Topaz Ring With Opal Band

I traded in my diamond ring for a pretty ring with a brilliant blue topaz.
She is surrounded by a band of gorgeous iridescent opals.
My husband did not question it, knowing my love for jewelry changes
This was six years ago; this exquisite ring continues to be a favorite.

My diamond ring is somewhere; unsure where and do not care.
This blue topaz ring uplifts me, replenishes me, revives me.
It gives me energy and enthusiasm.
It gives me strength; I feel love from it.
Fingers on my left hand do not feel complete without it.

Other rings parade back and forth on my right hand,
but this gem stays where it is.
On my right hand, ring finger, where other women park their diamonds.
The color of the sky and the ocean surrounded by white cap opals.

I think the appeal is simple.
It is a ring that I fell head over heart in love with,
I feel that it reflects my relationship with myself.
I have had many compliments on this ring.
Others feel the power she exudes.

Premium Member That was Then, This is Now

Turn up the radio and ...
It's the same ol' situation,
The same songs, same band
That raised my generation

That was then, this is now
Nothing's changed but my age,
And four numbers, somehow
On a calendar's page ...

It happened again today
In the store where I shopped,
In the restaurant, I heard it play
Proving the 80's never stopped

That was then, this is now
O, to revive a faded fad,
If we never forget how
Good times can still be had

Life, like a cassette tape
With two sides, was designed,
From Side A, Side B can't escape
If you just press rewind ...

The Band - a French Pantoum

We walk the street this day,
we hold each other's hand.
Our talk is month of May,
when we shall hear the band.

We hold each other's hand,
we speak of things we like.
When we shall hear the band,
for them we'll take a hike.

We speak of things we like,
her students will be there.
For them we'll take a hike,
our friends will play with care.

Her students will be there,
we walk the street this day.
Our friends will play with care,
our talk is month of May.

Premium Member The Whole World In His Band

The Whole World In His Band
God wants the whole world in His band
Brothers and sisters of the land
Followers singing His commands
Connecting through heaven’s broadband.

Sing in praise all ye that do stand
On the Lord’s glorious bandstand
Sing how it is, holding God's hand
Lord and conductor of the band.

Children come along, clap your hands
To beat of drums and baby grands
With skips and hops dance to the band
For God so loves His precious lambs.

All Birds and creatures of the land
Join with us too, it's your homeland
Sea creatures from depths of sea-land
Swell the choirs of the Lord’s mainland.

The Lord takes hold of one's right hand
He's the saviour of those hearts fanned
By faithful members of the band
That lead us to the promised land.

Altogether now hand in hand
God wants the whole world in His band.

   Andrea and the Andarees' tour once more:
   girl group sings the hits their fans adore.
   Their moves and harmonies strong;
   the crowds sing along,
   they know each
   song -
   words that reach
   every heart. No wrong
   notes - they know they all belong
   on stage, soaking up the frenzied roar:
   Andrea and the Andarees' tour once more!

A Band of Angels

A BAND OF ANGELS

I already knew that love comes with stuff
But I didn’t know that stuff comes with love
Until a fire destroyed all of our things.
And I looked to heaven above

I cried out “Lord, thank you God!
For saving me, my family and friends.”
No one was hurt. No lives were lost.
Lord knows there could have been.

We stood watching in the middle of the night
As flames claimed all of our things
We comforted each other
Under the umbrella of angels wings.

Little did we know at that time
That God was sending us more stuff.
Blessing us abundantly
Supplying more than enough.

Thank you Merced, CA community
Thank you family and friends
For allowing the Lord to use you
In Jesus’ Holy name,
Amen

Alligator and the Bayou Boogie Band

Alligator with fierce but captivating eyes sometimes red glare
  The Man with a title given by the High Priest of his Tribe
  A man gifted at Birth for the World to be entertained by.
  Though much more then the Entertainer inside ~

  This Man a poet , a man of wisdom and power
  Playing his cordless accordion or Guitar on the tiny Bar
  Powerful stares , people dancing crazy underneath a moonlit sky
  His trance , a spell on others , not to be denied

  A Force stronger then you will know , be dared to reckon with
  His name was given at birth for a reason , A Scorpio
  Legacy throughout Europe and deep woods in the Bayou
  Alligator loved by many , playing Jimmy Hendrix to Zydeco

  Alligator , the man on fire , women can not help but desire
  In Monterey Bay, California, he plays , magical surprise
  be warned if you go with date to see him "Alligator "
  At the end of your dancing to Zydeco and blues
  your date will be in Trance , one glare into his eyes
  she will be wanting He at the end of the night , your demise.
