Their Greater Sin - Pet Hate

THEIR GREATER SIN

They call one who speaks for Liberty a Fascist
They claim man made end of world as a proven tenet
And to them ‘free’ means imprimatur to ravish
Expressed with many a ‘You know’ ‘It’s like’ and ‘Ennit!’

They proclaim themselves as ‘liberal’ though they favour
The hard politics of socialism central
With a strong taste of Marx in its flavour
That just gives me an affliction in the ventral

Of dark villainy I now seek to accuse
And reserve a special torment to confer
Not for all the sins above from which I bruise
Nor self righteousness they constantly aver

It is the painful wounds for which there is no bandage
Their cruel destructive treatment of the English Language

Thou art to me the fairest crimson rose,
A tender bloom with dawn's first colour gilt;
Yet ev'ry flow'r in mortal clime that grows,
Is here for but a time, and then does wilt.
By all I e'er held dear, I now aver,
That though a rose may wilt, yet still 'tis sweet;
I only hope a place I could secure
In fondest adoration at thy feet.
For fairness found in form and face will fail,
But that within the heart may shine undimmed;
Though nothing for youth's beauty may avail,
A heart with golden deeds may yet be rimmed.
My Juliet, in truth I do declare,
I love thee not for youthful beauty fair.

Angels live in heaven, so I heard you all say,
as the pristine celestial beauty they ascend
like the sparkling stars in the far away milky way,
but I know on the mortal earth they often descend.

If you ask me how do I know, I would aver,
I have seen the radiance of my mother’s heart
as bright as adoring shine of a splendorous star,
suffusing me with love even destiny made us apart.

In troubled times when the family was adrift in unrest,
she toiled to settle down secured in a land unknown,
gave a precious gift to my rootless uncertain life, a nest,
from where I spread my wings in the sky and have flown.

I soared high under the caring cover of her weary wings,
my aspirations the wild winds couldn’t blow away.
I live in the shadow of her undying love, memory brings,
for it’s her hands that sculpted me what I am today.

She has left me for her new home a long time ago,
when in dismal night the glistening north star I see,
guiding me to my final destination, I then know,
she is the star, shining with angels in heaven for me.

Cautionary Couplets

CAUTIONARY COUPLETS

I hazard it has many times been said
That we have never lived if we’ve not bled

If you attest a life of no regret
I’ll wager you have never placed a bet

If in your time you never crash and burn
You miss an opportunity to learn

If you forever seek to others blame
Well they may seek to ever wipe your name

If you choose peace at all cost you may see
A subjugated life of tyranny

If love is all, in truth I promise that
With careful seasoning I’ll eat my hat

If you aver you never told a lie
I’ll guarantee the moon’s a pizza pie

If you contend you never commit sin
Then join this club of one, they’ll let you in

Awake

AWAKE!

Forebear I beg if I am found obtuse
Not turning from the indigent I see
Should I aver egregious a view
They be ascribed a sloth delirium

My comments here may seem not delicate
Yet if I choose travail to consecrate
Would you in intercession mediate
Bring those in need restored awakening

Out Of Water

Eternal suffering
Fresh cleansing rain,
regain
Harmonic smells so wonderful,
restores impressions in your mind of ocean shores

Rainbows of prism refracting,
colors that are spellbinding
red, orange, yellow, green, blue, Indigo, violet
mixtures mystifier of lights and shadows aver

Cleansing the air,
beautify and reign over azure suggestive buttermilk sky

Green crisp canopies of forest trees
Tall, lush emerald green grass that sway in the breeze
coverlets of ferns, climbing vines embroidered through trees
and stray flowering plants that grants
a playground for musical birds that perch or fly to the skies,
enchanting dance of the butterflies, and an orchestra of the wild,
a spiritual wonder all thirst for shelter and pure clean water

Glacier’s abundance surplus
Beautiful lustrate waterfalls so gracious
Running water through rocks and sand,
adding to erosion of filtrating

The voice of the future echoes a plea
An epiphany

Purge memories shall come to cease
Dearth of rain
Yearning thirst will attain
Drought, dehydration, famine, poverty,
sickness, anguish wildlife perishes
Eternal suffering and losses

The future beseeches

Premium Member Faith Is a Powerful Thing

Faith is a powerful thing,
As true believers can aver.
I learned this at my mother's knee.
The lessons taught by her
Have stayed with me for life.

In good times and in bad.
Sometimes I've strayed away

And faith of Mom and Dad

Protected me from this world's wiles.
On other days, remembering
Wonder of their love and smiles,
Enabled me to find way through
Rueful, and sometimes lonely, miles.
Forever grateful, I
Unbeaten by my woes
Live on with certain faith

That my faithful God is close.
He guides and guards me every day
In sunshine or in rain.
No matter if I fall,
God is there to ease my pain.

See Me Without Your Eyes

See me without your eyes!

----------------------------

Beauty is in everything that I behold all around!

I am just lost! Tell me when you have me found!

You say someone is ugly, I will aver that's lovely!

Your senses are earthly, missing what's heavenly!

We are more than a body, mind, heart and soul!

Ignore what meets your eye! See me as a whole!

If you take me for how I look, you are not for me!

When I need you most as I age, your love will flee!

See me without your eyes, if you like what you see!

I will believe in you, each other's we're meant to be!

The Eagle

THE EAGLE

From sheer Jurassic precipice he soared
Surveyed the land for gifts it might afford

Across the broad flat valley’s rich domain
With viewpoint high, low altitude disdain

In languid circling track approaching nigh
The eagle now came level eye with eye

He seemed to nod to one perceived as peer
Acknowledged coexistence without fear

His self assurance of a privileged strain
In higher echelon of victual chain

No predator to make threat to his being
Where flight has no concomitance with fleeing

We two shared aspect regal and remote
Above a distant world seeming to denote

A subject to be seen with cool detachment
From other lives set on their own enactment

The matchstick men in matchbox cars below
Proceed in patterns conjunct, fluent flow

As if directed by a master plan
The pieces moved as by an unseen hand

Yet inside every box there is a mind
That makes decisions well informed or blind

The myriads of choices of direction
Have source within those living souls’ election

I marvel at this concept: life centricity
The thought of such abundance, prolificity

Of individual life forms each conferred in
The ability, its intentions to determine

Some say we’re mere machines therefore robotic
Or otherwise controlled by force hypnotic

And some aver a plan: divine intention
By God who makes judgemental intervention

I claim no knowledge, or insight on this score
Perhaps one day I’ll know with sureness more

‘Til then prefer this chosen metaphor
- In freedom I would with the eagle soar

M-Theory Musings

What theory unifies forces, weak, strong,
With gravity— also, to which belong
All the string theories of why and because?
To answer these queries, M-theory does.

Proponents aver it offers clarity
As to the issue of singularity.—
Where there’s a will there’s a way,
So they say…

In the beginning our universe sprang
From membranes colliding to cause a Big Bang…
Hence matter and energy stem from vibrations of strings seen by seers
In a music of spheres.

One mode of vibration, or ‘note’, makes the string an electron,
Another a photon…
And what of Higgs-boson?

There’s even a mode for the graviton, thought to have gravity’s force.
So vibrating strings would then be the source
To create tiny articles which we call
Elementary particles— one and all.

Dimensions— four plus compactified seven—
Equal a total that’s oddly eleven…
To wit, though string theories wound up at the tenth,
They had to add one more that’s odd to the nth.

Do we have enough sense or senses extended
To fathom those p-branes M-theory intended
And get to the bottom of hyper spacetime
In this super multiverse theory sublime?

What sounding vibration
Strange seeming sensation
Might set the strings strumming
Or maybe branes humming
Is something to ponder,
One’s whimsies to wander—

My mind like the wind evanescent can roam
O’er billowing waves and ineffable foam
With parallels plenty of our bubble home…

Thus I heard
M-theory’s word.

Albeit in physics there’s much knowledge base,
What waters of wisdom could ever embrace
Such cosmic curled places with hyperspace face?

Eerily far we’ve come to here
From bards’ illusions yesteryear—
When heavens would sing lullabies,
With moon and stars to harmonize
Midst luminescent light display
That might have been the Milky Way
Overturning all its jars
In a shower of shooting stars…

How flimsy, fleeting, and fragile life seems,
In our floating realm like a land of dreams!

Amen— let poets lyricize yet
Sweeter reveries lest we forget
Dearer wonders perchance of yore
From whilom membranes nevermore
Where earthlings gazed at clearer skies
With yonders nearer to our eyes,
In a once upon a time divine
P-brane world of auld langsyne…

Enchanting Encounter With Rustic Beauty On An Early Morning Stroll

Enchanting Encounter With Rustic Beauty on an Early Morning Stroll

Along the beautiful tree lined avenues and residences I strode, ruminating spirituality and poetry, amidst peace and bird chirping background.

Upon a sharp turn, afar stood a woman in an Indian suit of black and pink – adjusting her hair standing in a side pose revealing all her attractive angles.

Brief, distant glances exchanged, Sharply she retired homewards, perhaps for a better view from the safety of the curtains?

I passed the house with intent sideways glance to check whether she stood in shade - but continued my stroll back to reflections and bird talk, finding her not to be there.

It was a mere passing scene on a early morning walk – one among many we see that make our lives bright, I thought. I strode on without any expectations – wearing a grateful smile - for the brief colourful sight.

But it was not to be.

On my routine next round, I again find her. This time standing in leisurely conversation with a timeworn woman I had seen trolling before.

A couple of long glances ensued. My heartbeat quickened. The old woman was serious in her advice; perhaps unaware of the real purpose of the discussion. The younger gave two, long, satisfying, glances.

Passing her close by, I aver she is not a conventional beauty, yet rustic and healthy, early in her middles. I am more advanced in time, though endowed with a firm and thin frame a fast gait. Fair in color she was and firm in flesh. Attractive she was in her own native way.

Further reflections focused not on poetry but on exciting prospects. I usually make only three, because of the paining knee. Now I extend it to four, expecting to find her in receiving extended guidance.

I find her not there. Disappointed. Perhaps she has made her assessment, this way or that. What it is, I can only know tomorrow during the early morning amble.

Alas it is not to be that way. For I have to leave. I do not live there, I am only on a visit and my next one is due only after a long interregnum.

By that time the memory of pleasant encounter will wilt in both. And chance will not repeat the favour.

A rustic beauty I discovered, one fine morning - a chance encounter during my early morning walk.

Premium Member Ode: To Rose

Of your repute may I gladly
shout and aver this day most well?
You are foremost a high-born lady
of style whereof I'd love to tell,
a princess that's sage and lovely—
whose mind is like a fertile dell.

You are too oft’ a raven-haired
of graciousness that's seldom seen.
You are the friend that boldly dared
to be the one and hopeful Queen,
a source of ruth who cried and shared
her tears through eyes of limpid green.

You are to souls a fresh new start,
a renaissance of hope that's true:—
a gift of grace to the contrite heart
and to the lost that no one knew;
you are thus the most blessèd part
of faith and joy that now ensue.
