Haul back from Winter Fairy land the wondrous Christmas tree
Open up the boxes with bright ornaments and all the trimming.
Hear the kids shout for Santa Claus and Frosty the Snowman oh so merry.
Obedient they are too, like little elves, with visions of toys, their joy brimming
Harness up the horses; get the sled. It’s Jingle bells time for you and me.
Over the snow, the sleigh bells ring. Memories like these will not be dimming.

My dream, my desire
is one with a naughty theme...
four women and me
engaged in some sweaty fun -
dribbling, scoring.......basketball.

The darkened chambers pierce the veil of sanity,
cold lifeless air surrounds and crushes like a vice,
eerie silence cannot muffle the wailing voices entombed,
death by evil, pure evil, permeates the flesh.

I fought the battle,
I lost the war;
I never saw the enemy
sitting open on the shore
I knew that it was over,
I saw the fight was done;
I was killed by a bullet
from another son's gun
I laid there bleeding,
I yelled a silent scream,
"Why was my life over,
is this real or just a dream?"
I never felt it coming,
my body - my buddies now claim;
my life has now been ended...
I lost - what a damn awful shame!

p aul, to hear his name reminded one of apostles
a n ordinary man given to extra- ordinary actions

THE DUNMURRY INCIDENT
There’s a big row going on in Dunmurry
And the whole place has come to a stop
There’s a war going on with the girl who makes cakes
And the bird in the newspaper shop
They both fancy Taxi man Terry
Though Newspaper Nell saw him first
Yet it seems he’s enticed, by Puff pastry Pat
Now poor Nell is fearing the worst
Pat has been seen tempting Terry
With her big baps, and choice of cream cakes
Poor Nell can’t offer those fanciful things
But she’s willing to do what it takes
Then Pat hit Nell with a doughnut
So Nell thought she’d better give chase
She walloped poor Pat, with an old Sunday Life
Then rubbed newsprint all over her face
Pat staggered back to the bakery
And she brought out a large lemon pie
It went over Nell’s head, and into her ears
Some even went into her eye
Nell made a soft muted whimper
From the sting in her eye I suppose
She reached in her pocket, and that’s when aul Pat
Got a triple A, stuck up her nose
Well the cops, they arrived in a hurry
And they pulled the two ladies apart
So peace was restored to the village
And poor Terry, he had to depart
Fluttering softly
patterns of lighted stained glass...
butterfly marvel.

God, as I close my eyes and pray to You,
I ask You for an important thing to do:
Please, let my daughter grow up strong;
Let her be safe and away from wrong;
Let her laugh, let her play, and let her run;
Let her find her moments in the sun;
Let her know joy and be filled with glee;
Let her see the pride that abounds in me;
Let her know You and answer Your call;
Let her not from Your graces fall;
Let her grow in love and peace;
Let her zest for life never cease;
Let her beauty shine inside and out;
Let her discover what life is all about;
Let her find love and share in its desire;
Let her have children to share and admire;
Let her find happiness in all that's around;
Let her laughter be her one true sound;
Let her serve well with all her charms;
Let her seek comfort in Your caring arms;
Let her find beauty in all that life offers;
Let her be blessed with overfilled coffers;
Let her grow old in a very graceful manner;
Let her children carry on the family banner;
Let her life be an example of Your true love;
And let her fly away on the wings of a dove.

On a rain-soaked day
I sit to write a verse,
I can't think of a thing to write
so instead - I just curse
I look through the window
now speckled with rain,
I still can't think of anything
so instead - I just complain
I sit all day long
with trusty pen in hand,
just can't think of a thing to write
while rainwater soaks the land
I give up at midnight
having nothing written down,
"I've been beaten today,"
I sigh - with my poetic frown!

I close my eyes and look back,
always back...
to a time, a place,
to you...
I wonder about you,
often I wonder,
always you...
I loved you dearly,
only you...
love parted,
no one's fault,
just parted...
I longed for you daily,
each hour...
I looked for you nightly,
every night...
I called out for you,
strongly, loudly...
I never heard an answer,
never, ever...
I'll never forget you,
I'm certain...
I only have these words,
I'm sorry...
forever sorry.

Fire on the mountain and smoke in the sky,
red embers floating then settling in dry timber
crackling like crunching bones goes on forever
howling in the distance of lost homes, lost ones
thick charred air choking, clogging breathing
throats singed, black blood emerging
closer and hotter, confusion, no way out
fate deciding its own course
angry nature consumes her evening meal.
